And here it is! It’s my first time ever making something of this type, I’ve made some very simple animations in the past but this was a whole different kettle of fish. I had a good time, pushed the limits of my poorly chosen editing software as hard as I could and took a great deal of creative liberty along the way.

@incurablenecromantic’s Blutrunst is utterly spectacular, and creeping up on its tenth birthday, and what a wonderful decade it’s been. I hope you all enjoy my tribute to this very special work.

So tempted to write a scene with both Tallulah Black Deyvill [co-created with KSClaw] from the Nightmare Dork University tales and Isolde Nymbostratus from IncomparableNecromantic's BLUTRUNST stories, depicting them as The Frenemies Who Lunch.

First ship: it was shesh/theo from a super obscure novel called king of rpgs, before i cleared this blog it was a blog for that novel actually :p i think it catalyzed my favorite dynamic which is mildly-dissatisfied and self-loathing character and person who really REALLY likes them

Currently reading: oh god so many things. the crucible cos i love the puritans. a collection of hawthorne's short stories cos i love the puritans. im TRYING to read one of the jeeves anthologies in french but its very slow going.... im also partway through a historical fiction about lady godiva, i need to sit my silly ass down and finish one book i am a notorious book half-finisher 😭

Currently craving: this is probably supposed to be a food but man recently i really really want to go to a Ghost concert lmfsbdsj

Motivation Monday 13 March 2023

For this week, giving credit where credit is due... the writers of the first fanfics I ever read. Tumblr and AO3 handles where applicable.

First and foremost, the fact that I started READING fanfiction in the first place [as opposed to writing it, which is another story to be told another time] can be laid directly at the feet of Snacky back in the LiveJournal days.

For my main fandoms, here are my "first reads" as I recall them:

BLAKES 7 - "Vila Restal's Emails" by Vilakins, first on Hermit.org, then on Breaking Orbit

DOCTOR WHO - for Classic Who, too long ago to remember, but it was on Geocities. For NuWho, it was "The Politesse of Love and Flight" by Kaffyrutsky

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS - my first Pitch-centric fic read was "Shadowplay" by @windlion; my first Blackice fic read was "Child Of The Moon" by Keinna; my first Blacksand read was "Not Quite A Total Eclipse Of The Heart" by @lithefider

NIGHTMARE DORK UNIVERSITY - my first fic read was "When Fairy-tales End" by @emeraldembers

OVER THE GARDEN WALL - my first fic was Blutrunst by @incurablenecromantic

GOOD OMENS - my first Ineffable Spouses fic was "Because I missed you (and I like it when you bite)" by megzseattle

THE MAGNUS ARCHIVES - the first fic I read there was "Patchwork" by @mira-eyeteeth

DELTARUNE - the first fic I ever read was a gen-rated platonic Spamton X reader fic that I somehow forgot to bookmark, but it was sweet and adorable. The first Swatchton fic I read was "Two Toned Glasses" by TheEarlOfTophats.

I'd like to thank incurablenecromantic for writing blutrunst because ever since I read that for the first time until this one not a single multi chap fic of mine can go on without me alluding to cannibalism in some shape or form. Or just outright putting it explicitly in there. Fuck Hannibal, this fic did more for making me a cannibal enthusiast than anything ever could have.

Blutrunst gotta be one of my favorite influences
