the valentines shuffle<3 i really hope we get one of those next rotation ngl this one was somewhat the left overs from the rest of the units but also i find this lineup very funny bc i dont think anyone here likes eichi that much. i think they would try to make chocolates until tetora almost burns the kitchen down<3

you ask. you and ibara stayed up late texting each other, only stopping at around 3:30 in the morning.

now, you went to the library to continue your conversation from last night. you talked about multiple topics already, and each one revealed more about you and himself.

“of course. you texted me 'good night' after all." ibara answers, smirking.

“i can see the dark circles under your eyes but whatever.” you turn your head, avoiding his gaze that made your heart beat rapidly.

he laughs, setting his chin on the back of his hand, observing you quietly. you still refused to face him while he stared at your features with no shame, from your eyes to your lips formed in a small pout. “don't get embarrassed, let me see you.”

“i'm not embarrassed.” you huffed. “you just surprised me.”

“so... flustered?”

you turned around, back facing him.

ibara laughs once more. “alright i'll stop teasing you! don't give me the silent treatment!”

there was a moment of silence before you went back to your previous position, his body relaxes in relief.

eyeing the clock on the wall, he stands up and takes his things, making you follow him. “sorry to cut this short, i have to meet up with a friend. his classes just ended and i'm going home with him.”

“no problem!” you gave reassurance. “is it okay if i meet your friend?”

“that's a great idea. i'm sure he'll like you.”

you walked together to one of the campus buildings, cracking jokes and chuckling along the way.

a taller man exits the building, you don't notice him until ibara stops to salute and call him by a title. you lock eyes with him, and your heart sinks.

the memories you've tried so hard to forget suddenly flashed in your mind all at once.

“... y/n?”

2. lighter or matches?

I have a preference for lighters, they're slightly easier for me to use and only require one hand. I can use matches as well though.

3. do you leave the window open at night?

No. I don't open the windows at all if I can help it. The screen mesh is broken and I'm terrified of the cats jumping out, they're indoor cats. Also the potential for bugs getting in the house.. no..

4. which cryptyd being do you believe in?

I think it's possible that any of them could exist. Though I'm kind of a skeptical believer of most things, in a way. Like, I believe fully in ghosts (not a cryptid, but being used as an example here nonetheless), but I'll still find explanations for things that aren't related to ghosts before I go blaming them. It's similar, in that I want to disprove other plausible explanations first when it comes to other beings, cryptid or otherwise.

you loved nagisa, and he loved you. you never doubted that. ever.

the day started like it usually did, you went to school and greeted both nagisa and hiyori, then walked to class.

sometimes you would have a little chat with tsumugi or eichi before getting scolded by hiyori. once he drags you away, he leaves you to eat lunch with your boyfriend.

it's romantic, most of the time... there are cases when your own friends ruin the moment, but nagisa says he doesn't mind.

after classes, he took you to a secluded place. you were confused.

“... y/n.”

he said your name with such seriousness, you couldn't help but be anxious.

“... we should break up. i'm sorry.”

you don't remember anything else after that. you purposely blocked out that part in your memories, but the feelings remain.

you were hurt. he didn't give a proper explanation either, leaving you to guess and wonder what went wrong.

it doesn't help that he moved schools with hiyori the year after, you kept telling yourself that it may be for the best, and that you'd never see him again.

you even ignored and stopped to talking to eichi and tsumugi altogether, forcing yourself to move on as fast as possible despite the lack of closure.

now it seems that your past as come to haunt you, almost as if the world is making you confront it. you don't know if you should run or suck it up... maybe you'll find out.

and you will, soon enough.

37, 38, and 39 for the ask game?

37. If you were to be remembered only by the words you’ve put on the page, what would future historians think of you?

I've spent a while thinking about this.

I think that it'd be that I come up with a lot of ideas, but I don't often follow through with them. They'd look at it and see something that could have been, but didn't become. I'm hoping to actually finish something soon though, so maybe they'll see at least one blossom bear fruit on this tree of ideas. Also if they notice the projection, then um, they would think I'm mentally ill, and they would be correct. I think they'd also probably count me as a fantasy writer. Almost all of my ideas have fantasy elements (such as magic, powers, soulmates, supernatural/mythological creatures, etc.).

38. What is something about your writing process YOU think is Really Weird? If you are comfortable, please share. If you’re not comfortable, what do you think cats say about us?

I don't think any of it is really weird? The weirdest thing is probably that I almost exclusively write my stuff in wordpad initially. It doesn't have spellcheck, so... woo.. The cats probably think we're weird, lmao.

39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?

Wanting to give up usually means that it's time to take a break. It means that I'm exhausted, and I'm not in the right headspace to write. Taking a break and coming back with a fresh mind is likely going to help.

Also, my writing is pretty much just for me right at this point. If I want to stop, if it's truly causing me to feel so down that no amount of breaks will make me feel better about it, then I'll stop. If I want to come back to it later, then I will, and if I don't, then that's okay. Not everything needs to be finished or continued.

It is this mindset that's prevented me from publishing things though. At least not until I have the entire fic completed, even if it's multi-chapter. I want to make sure that I won't abandon a fic halfway through, and the only way for me to guarantee that is to have it completed before I even start posting. Once I get more used to writing, and more confident in completion, I do want to write something more interactive in the future.
