@blue-eyed-banshee gets a starter
They weren't the first to do so, people had tried to destroy it before, but they had always ended up joining the ranks of the undead. After so many times Kara didn't really know why it still bothered her, why she didn't just wait to loot the corpses that inevitably ended up being produced.
Gathering her courage the child made up her mind, quickly scratching a message onto a bit of wood before throwing it at one of the warriors.
Upon it was a message written in capital letters. "NOT SAFE, YOU TOO BIG. CAN NOT HIDE. GO AWAY."

"Ah... another one of the old wolf's subjects, I take it?" *her lips instinct turned into a fanged smirk*
Gin was hunched over a work bench, adding the final touches to Jackson's new collar when she heard a familiar voice. One that had been the source of nightmares for her and many other for years. Her entire body tensed as she spun to face the undead elf.
"Formerly, anyway," she muttered through clenched teeth. "Wot's it t'ya?"

@blue-eyed-banshee (Baine)
As a Jedi, Obi-Wan has the pleasure and honour of travelling to the farthest reaches of the galaxy and take in their fantastic and beautiful sights. It's still a rare occasion for him, to land on a planet that he has no information about, because it's still a hidden corner in the ocean of stars. He doesn't even know the planet's name and the scholar inside him is excited, eager to learn and discover something new.
His ship lands in a green, lush mesa. There are mountains all around him, protecting the verdant plains. In the distance, he spots what looks like a settlement of tents, totems and a mill, by a lake. Even further ahead, suspended on a high formation of rocks, sits a majestic city, displaying similar kinds of totems and decorations.
The fauna, spooked by the landed ship, keeps a distance from Obi-Wan, but he observes the various animals with great interest. There are what appears to be some kind of bird, similar to ostriches. He also spots what looks like a cougar, perched on a rock. Up, amongst the conifers, there are boars.
The Force sings with a content Obi-Wan hasn't heard in a while. This place is undisturbed by the war against the separatists, it's at peace.
He suspects that his arrival hasn't gone unnoticed, and that the inhabitants of the settlements may be concerned. Deciding that he'd rather make first contact on his terms, Obi-Wan moves towards the village. When he first spots what look like guards, holding spears and standing to attention, he is delighted. What wonderful-looking bovine humanoid people!

A portal opened and a man was hurled out just like how he and Piotr used to do their fast ball special during combat. Logan groaned quietly, trying to move without injuring himself further since his healing factor wasn't was it was like back in the day. "Remin' me ta' never touch that..." He muttered, glancing back to make sure baby banner was harmed. "Ya hurt, kiddo?" He asked and he knew he wouldn't get a response as this child wasn't able to talk. "Well... that was yer first time travelin', kid." He spoke before he heard his stomach rumble. He knelt down and moved to take his backpack off which he used to carry his new sidekick. "Let me get'a look at'cha.." He grumbled, putting him out of his pack carefully and into one arm. He glanced over his travel companion before he took notice of his shivering which nearly broke his heart. It was just like that night he found him, shivering in the cold. "I'll find ya somethin ta' eat." He muttered to himself placing the infant comfortably back into the open compartment of his bag and hoisted arounds his shoulders. "Where the hell are we?" He muttered, one eye squinting from the falling snow.
Off in the distance was a farmhouse, windows glowing with light, beckoning to Logan with the promise of food and warmth in the midst of the cold dark night that existed only in the most rural of places.

It's true. Angel may be have alive since the 18th century but he knew his way around computer. "I can work a computer, I've kept with the times." He said in an annoyed tone with his arms crossed.
"You remind me of a slayer I used to.... Nevermind. So, how do we find this guy?"
I really wish Fred or Willow were here... Those two would have a blast with this kid.
"Do me a favor, stay out of the way. I don't want you getting hurt." His tone was soft and full of worry since he's a father and she, while not his daughter- was someone else's kid. He may be an infamous vampire but he had a soul. Some would consider it a burden, he considered it a reminder of his past. The people he slaughtered and tortured over the centuries.
Based off Cassie's Open
"You can't have it both ways." Cassie said. "Because I can help you find him or you can do it yourself." She said. Arms crossing over her chest. "But you have to run a program which I can show you." Cassie said.
"But if you don't want my help sure you can figure it out. I'm also more then capable of handling myself. I'm a hero after all." Had her own suit and her own powers and everything. But she knew when she wasn't wanted and she was feeling like that at the moment.

"Ain't no one gotta worry about me," Victor snapped his teeth at the little girl. He'd dealt in worldwide black markets, and had learned enough languages in his travels to get around pretty much anywhere.
Then his eyes cut to Logan, shoulders back and standing tall. Like he had to remind Logan of his place in their hierarchy. "You want me on your side, runt. Shit's bad all over, an' havin' another adult around is gonna help ya in the long run."
And Victor would continue to follow them anyway, but he didn't think that part needed to be said outloud.
He eyed the kid, frown deepening. "Yeah, I know the hulk. Still don't explain why you're bottle feeding one."
'Ya wouldn't believe me if I told ya, Victor..." He muttered before he saw his daughter scowl at her uncle's comment.
"Él no es de quien tienes que preocuparte." The younger mutant snarled in Spanish to which she wasn't sure if the other man could understand but over the years she and Logan had been together, he began to understand her native language.
" 'spite the past Victor, yer still my brother an' family means a lot ta' me right now." He stated before his mind drifted briefly to his deceased family and what his children would think of the monster he had for a brother. He told stories to Maureen and the kids about his x-men days and the enemies he made along the way spanning for years and years but that partially resulted in them being killed off.
"Ya know the hulk? Not the hero but what he grew up 'ta be."

17 Questions, 17 People
17 Questions, 17 People
Tagged by @novemberhush
Tagging: I don’t have 17 people coming to mind, but we’ll go with @stargazerdaisy @xpaperheartso @earnmysong @blueeyedbanshee @katries @dragonsthough101 @sylviebrettsey @a-star-upon-her-brow and anyone else who wants to!
Nicknames: Katie. It’s short for my legal name. Or @katries calls me “child mine” sometimes and I love it
Zodiac: Virgo
Height: 5'10
Hogwarts house: Not a clue. I read some of the books years ago, but no idea.
Last thing I googled: TV Guide listings. I’m holed up for work since there’s winter weather moving in, and I can’t ever remember what the numbers for our cable package are.
Number of followers: 659 lovelies
Song stuck in my head: I was singing The Rainbow Connection to myself as I walked down the hallway to laundry earlier, and it’s still running in circles.
How much sleep: Most nights, 6-7 hours. Every so often, I’ll knock out for 8-10, and I can run on less if I must, but 6-7 seems to be the sweet spot.
Lucky number: It’s not really “lucky,” but seven is my answer to everything when I’m feeling snarky.
Dream job: I love hospitality, but if I couldn’t be here, probably author or lawyer.
Wearing: Grey joggers, fuzzy Cookie Monster PJ top. I changed after work, if you read my earlier ask.
Favourite song: Changes with the wind, but Mack the Knife is really special from my childhood, so probably that?
Favourite instrument: Ummmmm ... I’ve always been really impressed with people who can play the harp.
Aesthetic: Comfy, jewel tones, business-y at work.
Favourite author: I don’t know that I have a singular favorite, but I read a ton of Susan Mallery books, and she’s always good for a lighthearted, cheesy pick me up.
Favourite animal noise: My dog fussing at my mom when she’s talking to me on the phone.
Something random: I have had two glasses of Manichewitz wine cut with lemonade tonight for New Year’s, and I feel like it’s starting to show in my typing skills. I don’t drink much, or often, so it hits pretty fast.

22, 8, or 37 of the nonverbal communication prompts Jaina with Sylvanas.
Nonverbal Prompt I choose... 8. sender shows up at receiver’s home late at night .
Summer storms were always the best. Because of what comes after. Jaina had opened her window before she climbed back in bed to continue another fictional literature she had chosen for the evening. Just when she was settling back against the pillows and getting cozy again, an unexpected knock came at the door. With a soft but frustrated groan, Jaina tried to think of who would come bother her at this time of the night and a few undesirables came to mind. She could only hope to the Tidemother that it wasn't a courier delivering grim news or a warning.
Huffing, she placed her book back down on the nightstand and got out -- sliding her slippers on. She grabbed the shawl that her grandmother had left behind to her after she passed from her chair and draped it around her shoulders. She was only in a nightgown, so she felt somewhat naked without her armor and staff.
Only reason she was concerned is because one of her wards hadn't gone off. She'd have to check on them and possibly fix them later.
As she made her way through the dark two-story house to the front door, she realized that her cat had gone silent when the devious heathen would usually be up at this time and getting herself in all kinds of trouble. It wasn't long before she saw a pair of glowing eyes looking back at her in the living room.
Turning her attention back on the front door, she tried to get a reading of the energy on the other side and immediately recognized it. "Sylvanas?" She pulled the door open. "It's late... what are you doing here?"

The softness was unfamiliar, enough that it made her ever so slightly uncomfortable. It did not seem like a threat, but it did feel undeserved. After all Kara hadn't done anything to deserve this kindness, and she was sure that if they knew the truth they wouldn't be so charitable.
"WE ARE THE MONSTER." Her writing was confident, this was one thing she knew. At the end of the day she was no better than the other undead, even if she wasn't as big. "STOLE THEIR BOOKS. LEARNED THEIR WAYS."
Oh how she wanted to accept these offers, the easy protection, the constant soup, the family… but she was cursed, and would bring ruin to wherever she went. "WHO PROTECTS YOU? WHEN IT HUNGERS, WE CAN NOT STOP." The answers were needed, for without them Kara knew that she was putting these nice people in danger, and they needed to be protected from her and her magics.
Tandred's features on his face grew ever so concerned. And yet he watched as his sister conforted the fightened girl much like their mother used to when they were children.
"Aye. No one will hurt you here."
Tandred still didn't move from his spot before Jaina got up from the bed to walk to her brother.
"Kara, no monsters will be able to do anything without my magic wards alerting me first. You're safe, I promise you." She spoke softly and with such a kindness that Tandred recognized from their mother. He decided to not mention it for now. He sat down in a chair by a desk that Jaina would use for writing letters or any documents she would have to send out as Lord Admiral.
"Kara, believe me when I say that my sister and her wife will protect you with their lives as will I. You are family." He smiled softly and reached into his coat pocket and took out a kultiran pendant with such care. It was a silver chain that had the symbol of house proudmoore on it.
"Jaina, mother and Derek would like to see you all sometime back home."

Sylvanas
Sylvanas’ eyes widened at the Gilnean swatting her hand away. When the other woman explained that they did not like being touched, she scoffed in annoyance as he thought back to Lirath how he didn’t like hugs that often. “Anar’alah.... You remind me of Lirath in that regard..” She muttered, before she let out a dry scoff-like laugh. “There are elves... who wield the power of the void, my sister being among them.” The name she had for her.... occupant made her lift a brow. “I... didn’t realized it had a name..” She muttered before she frowned before she shook her head slightly, before thinking back to Scrap, her hawkstrider in life. Her family always thought the name was odd, but she rather liked it. “How... did you come into contact with the void in the first place?” She asked, choosing her words carefully as to not be insulting. She learned some void beings didn’t like not to be mocked, though she wasn’t sure if this.... void lord was such. She reached for her bow which was slung across her back before she walked over to tree and sat down in the shade. No grace as she was raised with by the esteemed Windrunner family, she didn’t really care in this moment. She needed to escape the heat. “I’ve heard stranger, Sylver. a void being does not scare me.” She said with a slight smirk, knowing said being would get insulted.
"Doesn' 'ave a name, ah jus' call It tha' t'piss it off. Tha' an' it felt weird no' t'ave a name fer It." She shrugged, keeping the elf in her line of sight as she sat under a nearby tree.
"Does 'ave some perks, though, ah'll admit." Another shift was felt in the back of her mind as she mentioned It, this time it felt like a dog being praised. Wiggling happily.
Could Void beings wiggle?
"Uh...'s a long story. Suffice it t'say tha' - " she sighed heavily as she fought to find the right words. "We're intertwined," she laced her fingers together to emphasize this statement, twisting one hand so her fingers were sideways and made it difficult to pull them apart.
The truth was that her parents had been part of an ancient group in Gilneas, and said group had been trying to create a Void Ascendant for years prior. They had never been successful in planting a Seed in an already living being, the subjects usually died shortly after or were left scarred and miserable. Gin had been the experiment to try at conception.
It had worked to a degree. But thanks to Gin's closest friends, she was able to find ways to keep It under control while she learned to control It herself.
"Gotta learn t'live t'gether, y'know? Much like we do."
"Ah... another one of the old wolf's subjects, I take it?" *her lips instinct turned into a fanged smirk*
Gin was hunched over a work bench, adding the final touches to Jackson's new collar when she heard a familiar voice. One that had been the source of nightmares for her and many other for years. Her entire body tensed as she spun to face the undead elf.

the lovely @earnmysong tagged me in this! thanks, babe! I’ll spread the love to @stargazerdaisy @xpaperheartso @blueeyedbanshee and @katries, plus anyone else who wants to play!
favorite color: jewel tones of almost every sort, but lately I’ve really been feeling emerald green, or a mid-tone smoky blue.
currently reading: I’m hellbent on finishing Cocoa for Two tonight, and up next, I’m planning to finally get around to The Cost of Living, a memoir about the practical costs of surviving a suicide attempt
last song: Vienna, but the Christian Borle version from Smash
last series: I started The Good Wife last week, then got my mom hooked too. also, rewatching Galavant
sweet, spicy, or savory: sweet and savory, but my spicy food threshold is pretty low. mostly, I like bold, dimensional flavors.
craving: I’m literally in the process of placing a Taco Bell order with my brother and my front desk guy. sooooo ... my chalupa.
currently working on: a very angsty Ted Lasso ot3 fic, some painful Lucy-centric Christmas fic (that we ALL knew would be late this year), and a very, VERY long-form Tim!backstory, spanning something like three decades. Also, there’s lots of editing to do, in the form of three Ted Lassos, two 911/Buddies, and a Chenford. Plus a dozen or so half-baked ideas that may someday become something people get to read

The Horde and the Alliance. Two factions, apparently not very fond of each other? Obi-Wan made sure to pick up every piece of information and stow it away for later. Silvermoon City. Lor'themar Theron. He soaked those words up like a sponge, even without knowing what exactly Baine was referring to.
Then lots of things happened, very fast. Before Obi-Wan could even start to explain where he came from, another person arrived. Not a Tauren, that much was obvious at first glace. At first he mistook her for a human woman, but then he noted the pointed tips of her ears and how elongated they were.
When reality tore apart before his eyes and the view to another place opened, Obi-Wan jumped up alarm. His had had darted to his lightsaber hilt, but everyone's calmness around him made him halt and observe. Whatever this was didn't seem to be dangerous. He was still not fond of the idea of entering through this rift, but before he knew it, he was in a large round city.
The Force here felt distant. It was still there, it permeated the air and the stone and the endless horizon of white fog that surrounded the city, but it was holding back. Made sure not to intrude. As if some other power ruled here and the Force was a very considerate guest.
The city's inhabitants were most curious. Some of them floated, some looked like massive armor having come to life, wielding equally massive axes and spears. Nobody here had a face. He followed the large Tauren chieftain and made sure not to ogle. Face or no, it was hardly polite. "Shadowlands does not sound very..welcoming," he mused.
A special someone who hasn't been seen on Azeroth for years..perhaps the dead? "Is this afterlife?" Obi-Wan asked baffled, having put two and two together.
Baine couldn't help but smile at Obi-Wan's gesture in respect. Upon hearing that the other man was curious about their culture and referring to Azeroth as a planet- he was correct, but Baine wasn't sure if he should disclose that Azeroth much more than a planet.
"You may call me Baine, Obi-wan. I apologize if I assumed you were a courier. Please allow me to explain. My kind belongs to a faction known as the Horde. My father was a beloved friend of our now former Warchief. The alliance is another such faction, mainly comprised of humans and other creatures on Azeroth." He stopped at a bigger tent and gestured inside before he stepped through before continuing,
"We are a more gentle race compared to our compatriots within the Horde. Take that as you will - a warning or merely an observation. But the Horde and Alliance have worked together on numerous occasions when our world was in danger of malevolent forces. I personally think you should visit Silvermoon City, I've only been there once when Lor'thermar invited me."
"Our land is very vast, and our main source of food is meat and fish. But we do have beverages from other places around Azeroth.
He made his way over to a small round table before sitting carefully so the chair wouldn't break under his weight. "I assume where you come from, you hunt for your food to stock on?" He asked, now very curious to learn more of where he is from as well.
"Tell me, where do you hail from? Certainly beyond Azeroth, that's for sure." He smiled softly.
Before more questions could be asked from the chieftain, a slender and slim looking elf slowly walked into view, and judging from the colors this person was wearing, it was someone else from the alliance. This female had white hair, blue eyes, and pale skin: someone whom he had last met in the shadowlands.
Baine stood and politely bowed. "Lady Windrunner, I trust you have faired well since last we spoke?" He observed before the younger woman walked up to the tauren and wearily eyed the human.
"Another courier?" She pondered out loud, only briefly taking note of the man's face, but she had business to attend to.
A portal opened in front of them that lead to a center ring of a city where a crowd gathered around another portal.
Two elves stood out in particular, night elves.
"Obi-wan, welcome to Oribos. It is one of the many places within the shadowlands. Everyone is already here to greet a special someone who hadn't been seen on Azeroth for years." He explained before he gently pushed his way through the crowd.

You know I love your characters, Chris!
I really admire how you always add different creative ideas and I may not know where some of your characters come from but you make me want to learn more about them! You always put passion into your writing from what I've seen and I love that.
I hope you know that you're one of the best RPers I've encountered here!
<3
what is ONE THING you like about the way i play my character?
I'd be more than happy to toss my OCs in a WoW verse! I still need to update bios for a few anyway. Some canon characters could fit well in WoW verse as well.
I do like how you have a different and unique portrayal of Sylvanas, especially post-Shadowlands. I don't follow that expansion for obvious reasons, but you've given me a little hope and positivity in seeing a different version of Sylvanas in that expansion. Especially when it comes to her connection with Jaina.
