(got thrown into a swirling rift in what I can only guess is the fabric of reality and told I needed to find an ax to help someone talking in blue lettered text)

You rang? (Side note, YouTube lost its notifications privileges with me, so I saw this message before I saw Mark's new video. It's probably the only reason I had enough time to type this post up before I head off to the airport, so thank you!)

Okay, to recap: We have a really weird drive by bee attack. No relation to the lore or anything, just bizarre. RIP, bee, you went out stinging. Then we have Mark talking about his love of being dropped into horrors beyond his imagining (not a masochist) and deep lore, before asking Lixian to show us something very deep--"throw them in the hole!"

Lixian says to the viewer, "I guess it's your turn to go into the hole" (my emphasis, we'll get back to that), before we go into a pink, flaming hole. It's tempting to draw the comparison to the wormhole from ISWM, but what's interesting is the color--the only time we see a pink wormhole in Space is when Wilford calls us a ride after ours, uh, was "mysteriously" stabbed.

Inside the hole, there are swirling clouds and flashes of blue lightning. Near the end, there's a break in the clouds that actually kind of looks like a side path to the left, but unlike In Space, we don't have an option of left or right here, we just plummet through the main hole to be met with darkness, and blue text.

"Help me", "Please, help me", and "Only you can find the axe."

Someone is asking for help, someone who claims that only the viewer can find the axe. So, let's talk about the axe, shall we?

First, we start with my boy, Damien:

In DAMIEN, the very first thing we see is Damien himself, chopping down a tree with an axe. This is apparently a daily thing for him, and he chops down a LOT of trees, but in the climax of the video when finally confronting Actor Mark, Damien doesn't have his axe. Instead, Celine arrives, using the axe to break through to Damien and, uh, giving it to Actor Mark to hold for a second.

Chronologically, the next time the axe is picked up is at the end of the fan game for Damien made by Lixian, just for Mark. At about the 48 minute mark, Damien/Dark sets his axe down as he's greeted by Wilford, which is then picked up by Lixian himself.

Lixian is scratched up, presumably from his fight with Lunky in 3 Scary Games #61 which has Lixian attempt to cage Lunky only for Lunky to break out.

It's in the following, unnumbered 3 Scary Games that we first see Lixian wield the axe, to split Lunky in half. (Brutal!)

He would then go on to use the axe in 3 Scary Games #64 and 65 to kill the horror abominations of Mark featured in those videos, and attempts to use it again in #66 only for it to bounce off.

Lixian tries to attack, and gets captured for his efforts, and we next see him in #75, waking up outside of the mysterious Plier Corporation and realizing he doesn't have his axe.

Since then, as far as I can tell in what time I have left to type this, the axe hasn't shown up again. It's missing, and someone needs our help finding it, but who and why?

Part of the explanation may lie with what the monster in #66 says at the beginning of the video: "The end is nigh. He has opened the door. The great Eldritch Plier is coming. Your end is here."

We get a hint at who this "Eldritch Plier" might be in 3 Scary Games #69, which begins with a man standing outside of a pink (!) portal, through which pops out Spider!Mark (one of the same creatures Lixian killed when he had the axe).

This man resurrects Lunky, its two halves barely clinging together, and the next time we see it is with Mark, who admits he doesn't actually remember making Lunky.

Lunky's most recent reappearance is in 3 Scary Games #103, where now whole again he uses the viewer as a sacrifice in his ritual to go back and seek vengeance, presumably against Lixian.

So the safe bet is that it's Lixian asking us to help find the axe so he can take on Lunky, right?

Except...why would he send us through a portal to tell us that? And why would he think we would be the only ones who could find it?

It would make more sense if someone else, someone who is well aware of the workings of the channel and the viewers' place in it, someone who may know of this Eldritch Plier and the danger he poses and shares his ability to summon portals, to do so.

Someone like one Wilford Motherloving Warfstache.

Or, y'know, Dark. He might also be involved.

Ego Headcanons: The Ipliers

Pt. 1

Iplier Manor is home to most of Mark Fischbach���s egos, the Ipliers.

The Actor-Marc(he/him): doesn’t live at the manor. No one knows where he is or much about him. Dark is the only one who recalls what Actor did, and Host knows due to their powers. His body was dead before and during the entirety of WKM (explaining the amount of maiming that Abe listed). He considers the egos made from AHWM and ISWM to be his children, except Engie. He doesn’t like Engie. (More on that in another post). None of those egos know he calls them his children/creations. He cannot be seen as a failure/the bad guy. (In the words of Mark himself, a narcissist asshole). All of the films he was in disappeared without a trace when he died for the first time due to interference by the HE, leaving many film buffs confused (many people thought the movies, and even Marc himself, to be mass hallucinations and there was later a documentary done on the phenomenon)- Powers: can harness the power of the House Entity to create pocket realities(and stay alive).

Wilford Warfstache(he/him): gnc pan Pink and yellow whirlwind of a man. Cries bubbles. Is more powerful than Dark but content letting him take the lead on most things while co-leading the egos. In a relationship with Dark. The events of WKM haunt his dreams, but he very rarely remembers them in the morning. His mustache and a strip of his hair are naturally pink, he doesn’t dye it. (The color loses vibrancy the closer he is to William. Some mornings, his hair/mustache will be entirely brown. On those days, Dark will sit quietly with him until Wilford finally slips back into place.) He feels a special connection to Dark, but is unsure why (he stopped questioning it after they started dating, assuming that’s why). His bouts as William can be triggered by Damien/Celine so they tend to avoid the bubblegum man when in control. - Powers: reality bending (telepathy/telekinesis/teleportation/ ect.)

Darkiplier-Dark/Damien(they/he): nonbinary ace fusion. Is the designated Head of Iplier Manor. While Dark is their own consciousness created as a byproduct of the twins having been stuck in The Upside-down for a time, they only exist when both Damien and Celine are in the body(they can only separate when in Actor’s stories). Dark specifically is the one in a relationship with Wilford, not the twins. Who is in control can be determined by the color of their aura, with Dark having both red and blue, Damien having only blue, and Celine having only red. (Damien will go by both ‘Dark’ and his own name when in control, while Celine chooses to only go by ‘Dark’.) Only a few of the older egos actually know the difference. Dark himself is usually in control of the body with the twins keeping a running commentary in the back of their mind. Celine is the strongest, due to having been a seer, and can force the other two asleep if she so wishes. Feels a sort of parental responsibility for Engie despite them not being a ‘young’ ego. - Powers: blasts of raw telekinesis like power, shadow bending(possibly more, undiscovered)

King of the Squirrels-Artie(he/him): a physically younger ego (roughly 12). Was pretty much adopted by Dark/Wilford. Has a treehouse connected to his bedroom through the window where most of his squirrel friends have built nests. Always has one or two baby squirrels in his pockets. Has named all of his squirrel friends. Doesn’t usually have his peanut butter beard(Dark banned it in the house and he ushers almond butter instead when a Crank is over). Likes spending time with Engie, who is fascinated by all types of animals. - Powers: higher agility, can talk to animals.

Engineer Mark-Engie(he/they): an ego made from Dark, specifically Damien (like how Marc considers certain egos his children). Due to that, he feels a special connection to Dark and has adopted them as a parent. He likes hanging out with Wilford. They love animals of any type and can often be found with Artie, helping him take care of his squirrels. Loves hugs and will find any excuse to hug someone. They are basically the physical embodiment of Mark’s love for space. He has those glow in the dark stars on his bedroom ceiling and a telescope. - Powers: unknown

The Host-Isaac(he/they): demiaroace nonbinary. uses his narrations as a sort of echolocation, able to see what they describe. Doesn’t technically need a service dog, but sometimes wishes they had one (more so when Mark and Amy visit with Chica)- Powers: visions, low level mental suggestion, and limited reality warping through narrations.

The Author-Oscar(he/him): aroace agender. Wrote actual books. Lived alone in a cabin. Loves dogs. Does not like large groups of people. Keeps to himself. - Powers: low level mental suggestion, limited reality warping through written word.

— Host and Author are siblings OR the same person depending on how I want to write them. (There is a separate post for these 2 as well)

Dr. Edward Iplier-Doc(he/him): demiaroace in a relationship with Host. Watches those medical dramas. Consistently running on 2 hours of sleep and way too much caffeine, but somehow always pretty chill and looks well put together. Pretty much adopted Eric. Dislikes when Mark is off his ADHD meds because it effects all the egos. - Powers: can see how people will die. (He’s very glad egos don’t stay dead)

Eric Derekson(he/him): anxiety boiTM. One of the younger egos (about 18-19). Has chronic bad luck. Has two prosthetic legs. Showed up at the Manor one day and was practically adopted by Doc and Host by the end of the day. Enjoys spending time with Oliver. - Powers: unknown

Bim Trimmer(he/him): theatre bi, not a literal cannibal. Does enjoy very rare steaks though and was mistaken as one by the Jims. Runs a game show in Wilford’s studio but often helps Wilford with interviews as well. Hangs out with Murdock the most and has taken Yan under his wing. He sees Yancy sort of as a younger brother too. - Powers: ramped up charisma

Murdock Malarkey(he/him): murder man with a plan. He’s the older of the two Malarkey brothers. Murdock has a job as a paranormal investigator(the Drowned Man). Keeps an eye on Yancy most of the time. Has a flair for the dramatic and enjoys spending time with Bim. He definitely gives murder tips to Yan. He helped Yancy with the murder of their parents but got away while Yancy got caught. He still blames himself for not watching his brother close enough. Write poetry in his free time. Sometimes hangs out with Author. - Powers: can see and talk to ghosts.

Yancy Malarkey(he/him): theatre kid all the way. The younger Malarkey brother. Best friends with Heapass. Very good with anything that could be used to stab. Regularly spars with Yan to keep their skills up. Got a job at the local corner store after he got out of Happy Trails on parole. Wants to someday hit Broadway. Does not blame Murdock for ending up in jail and constantly tries to explain how it’s not his fault. - Powers: Magic tattoos that he cannot control.

Yandereplier-Yan(she/they): transfem demigirl. Physically younger ego (about 15-16). Hangs around the Malarkeys and Bim to the point that she’ll call them her uncles. Has their own katana. She and Yancy made a secret club called “The Yan Gang” and they meet up every Monday to play dress up and make plans for the week. - Powers: heightened agility, instant mastery of weapons techniques.

The Iplier egos are all open to questions.

ISWM SPOILERS GET WARNED BRUH

I have a question for my fellow ISWM fans, what do you guys think The Captains eyes look like? The only time we ever get to see or hear about their eyes is when noir mark talks about The Captains “baby grey eyes” and the one scene where The Captain is waking up in their cryo pod. And in the Noir universe, everything is in black and white, but it would also make sense for The Captain to have baby grey eyes if it’s still the DA, but then in the scene where they wake up their blue? But that could also be just from the power of crystal making their eyes blue, and maybe grey’s their natural eye color, but then you could argue that then their eyes would have always been blue through AHWM too because of the crystal and other stuff including time shenanigans that I’m too tired to explain. And you could also argue that because of time loops and time warping that their eyes would have always been blue since they were a kid. Or maybe there really is two versions of The Captain that became one/simultaneously exist and might be both us, and one had grey and the other blue, or maybe they change based off of the universe that they are in. The only thing that can be confirmed is that sometimes their eyes glow blue. Like. GLOW BRIGHT BLUE. Maybe it’s stress. Idk. Anyways I need to shut up now. Im gonna make a poll but feel free to reblog your opinions under the post.

WYNN (Crewmate)

This absolute sweetheart.

He is so wholesome.

He's also the youngest of the Pattersons. (Yep, they have a last name too)

Trans (FTM) in almost every universe.

Full of energy and childlike wonder.

He loves bright colors and pastels.

Though light blue is his favorite.

His big heart believes everybody can be good, always willing to give a second chance.

Even if sometimes someone might not deserve a second chance...

He can be a little tone deaf sometimes, but mostly just when he's trying to clarify something without realizing it's personal.

MACK (Head Engineer)

The guy. The main dude.

Closest in actions to ISWM out of these 3. (Unless you only see Mack as a little shit, there's Richard for that.)

The middle child of the Pattersons, and its kind of obvious with how hard he fights for attention.

Though he's very contradicting.

He'll say not to touch him, then melt if someone shakes his hand.

Really, he's just trying to be cool and mysterious.

He wasn't always like that, he used to be more like Wynn, but some people hurt his heart in a way that can't be mended.

Physical touch makes his skin crawl, unless it's the right person.

His attachment issues are terrible.

So are his trust issues!

And problems with authority...

He's got a lot to unpack, but he's too stubborn to unpack it.

RICHARD (Dictator)

So, there's Mack, right? Imagine he got everything he wanted.

He turns into an even bigger asshole.

His ego is through the roof, being the leader of an entire colony.

The power goes straight to his head.

It may cost nothing to be nice, but it also cost nothing to be a dick, sooo...

His favorite color is red.

He's also usually popular in his universes.

Oh, and don't worry. He still has emotional baggage he'll never unpack.

He's only nice to people he really likes, so maybe you can get lucky!

YIPPEE im so glad you asked, let me just set up my powerpoint presentation-

iswm headcanons!

captain - queer, agender, they/them. since the captain's pretty much just the viewer, this is just my own interpretation of who i feel like i'm playing as in iswm.

mark - pansexual, guyflux, they/he. i just feel like he's a guy, but not a man. masculine in some ways, definently not in others. pansexual because they genuinely do not care about your gender, he's just helpessly attracted to you no matter what.

celci - bisexual, transfem, she/her. literally blue hair and pronouns and i love her. definently realized she was bi when watching pirates of the caribbean.

gunther - polysexual, transmasc, he/him. completing the holy trinity of m-spec invincible II members. you've heard of be gay, do crime, now get ready for be trans, throw hands.

burt - aroace, male, any pronouns. i feel like burt genuinely does not care what you refer to him as.

mack/theory crew - questioning, libramasc, he/him. closer to male than other genders, but still slightly different. the only invincible II crew member to not really be open about his sexuality, mostly because he's still figuring it out (the captain had to give him a whole 'it's totally fine if no existing label fits you, and you shouldn't feel rushed to figure out your own identity' talk)

lady/allu minium - sapphic, non-binary, they/she/xe. found out about gender when researching human culture, and was both excited that some of the labels fit them, but also mildly confused. "wait, humans have specific words for all of those things? but they're just normal personal stuff, why do you need words for those things?" (mark had to teach her why labels for different gender identities and sexualities exist. xe was less than charmed to find out queerphobia is a thing.)

bandit - bisexual, demigirl, she/they. believe it or not, she's actually had to pretend to be a human quite a few times when on the run, so the way humans identify is nothing new to them.

wug - unlabeled, pangender, all pronouns. there are multiple wugs, and it's shown that they can have preferred pronouns (e.g. that one wug who goes by she/her), but i think the wug we interact with the most feels perfectly fine being seen as any and all human genders.

Oo, thank you for the ask! We had a bit of a hard time thinking of random facts, but I think this will do! We actually had a lot of fun answering this, once we got into the rhythm.

CAPTAIN

- Most of us actually know very little about the captain, other than some basic information such as their pronouns and that they are in a relationship with Meteor / Engineer Mark.

- They have source memories of not only ISWM, but also WKM and the other choose-your-own-adventures.

- Always wearing their captain's uniform in headspace, space helmet and all. This prevents us from knowing what they even look like.

- If it wasn't obvious, they are a very private person and don't really talk much. /lh

CELINE

- She loves crystals. Their favourite is black tourmaline, which is believed to protect from negative energy.

- She firmly believes in spirits and such. To the point she is rather quick to become worried about that kind of thing.

DARK

- Actually doesn't really like being referred to as Damien (let alone Celine). It reminds them too much of their past. Wilford and Celine can get away with it, however.

- Follows what we know of source pretty closely, in the way that Dark is mostly comprised of Damien and the house entity, and Celine is sleeping / not present.

- When he is first coming to front, we sometimes see things with a red and blue "aura" around them. This normally lasts a couple of minutes, at most, but felt note-worthy.

- For the duration of him fronting, colours often appear more dull to us. Not quite black and white, but certainly less saturated, if that makes sense.

MARK

- Actually the second most separated from source of all of our introjects, Markiplier related and otherwise. Being a factive (of Markiplier), he tries his best to stay somewhat different from source.

- Unsurprisingly, he loves playing video games. Some of his favourites are Subnautica, The Last of Us, Phasmophobia, and video game adaptations of board games and card games (Uno, Monopoly, that kind of thing).

- His favourite colour is forest green, red coming as a close second.

METEOR

- We spent a long time looking for a space-themed name for Meteor, as the name "Mark" was already taken by the time Meteor split. An embarrassingly long time, actually.

- Lovesick fool for the captain /affectionate. When Captain comes to front, Meteor is sure to follow.

- Much like Captain, he is also often found in his uniform in headspace.

WILFORD

- Completely fine wearing clothes designed for any gender. Dresses and skirts included.

- He is the only one of us with a partner (who is another alter) that is outside of our own system. None of us really mind that fact, though.

- Loves baking. Cakes, brownies, pies, you name it. Even if he doesn't like what he's baking, he is glad to help.

What relationships does your Captain have on the ship? With the heads of the crew (Mark, Celci, Burt, ect.), or with other crew (Carlos, Mack, ect.)?

Oh boy! Well, I wrote a few paragraphs about this last year when I first started this blog (and Mark and Yona's relationship specifically has been elaborated on in a few different posts), but I won't regurgitate all of that here. So here's a brief summary of Yona's relationship with each crew lead:

Mark: Adores this guy. Loves him. Favorite guy ever. He won her over gradually but pretty steadily over the course of their time working together (before and during the events of ISWM). No one can accuse her of favoritism, though. Even Mark himself has trouble believing that she sees him differently from any other crewmember until she spells it out for him-- despite him spending a lot of time hoping that would be the case someday! They're free to be open about their feelings once the colony has been established.

Celci: Yona appreciates Celci immensely and considers her very reliable. Celci, for her part, looks up to and respects Yona as her Captain. I believe that they would both think of each other as a friend, although they'd probably have to go kindof out of their way to start hanging out as such, since unlike a lot of the other crewmembers Celci is more concerned with being professional and would be hesitant to overstep.

Gunther: Fundamentally, Yona trusts all of her crew leads to do their jobs, and do them well. This does not stop her relationship with Gunther from sometimes resembling that vine that's like:

-"Let me see what you have!" -"A KNIFE!!" -"NO!" [gives chase]

Notably, due to the way her specific ISWM route went, Gunther is the only crew lead who Yona experienced a mutiny from. Naturally, she was baffled and hurt by it, but ultimately I don't think she holds it against him since no one knew how to deal with the wormhole situation, and she knew that at the end of the day, everyone was just trying to do what they thought was best for everyone. (Still, after the events of ISWM, she makes sure to take Fixed Timeline!Gunther aside and emphasize to him that if he ever has any problems with her or her leadership he should please talk to her about it.)

Burt: Their relationship is probably the simplest out of all the crew leads, with not much more to it than a mutual respect. But Yona does her best to give Burt space to express his opinions and be heard, not wanting him to always be steamrolled by the more vocal crew leads.

Some other crewmembers of note:

First Mate Tyler: I like to pretend he and Yona went to the same flight school~! And I think they're also workout buddies. During ISWM, Yona encountered Tyler in the airlock and made the unfortunate choice not to Open The Door and let him out. (Under normal circumstances she would have never dreamed of doing such a thing, but around this point she had really started to feel lost and unsure of her own judgement, and she remembered the last time someone had tried to trick her into opening a door, so she hesitated too long.) It's one of the things she regrets most by the end of ISWM.

Danny (aka Sexy Crew): Yona just thinks he's neat! x'D I pretend that she actually did catch him when he asked her to. From Dan's perspective it's a "we are just friends and that's totally cool but also if she ever wanted to hook up I would be 100% on-board" situation.

Mack: Yona never encountered Dictator!Mack, so the only version of Mack she knows is the one in the blue uniform we see at the beginning who tells us the engines look good. This Mack is a very capable engineer, if a bit of a know-it-all. Yona's default setting for interacting with her crew is that of a warm, approachable, "your favorite school guidance counselor" type, an approach that Mack actually doesn't vibe with very well, and has trouble respecting. After a bit of friction and some initial misunderstandings, while Yona doesn't exactly win Mack over completely, their relationship is able to reach a place of civility. He still rolls his eyes at how many other crewmembers seem completely enamored with her, though.

Chica: Best girl. The one exception to Yona's typically unshakeable "no favoritism" policy. Chica can do whatever she wants forever.

Your Captain was allowed a single duffle bag’s worth of personal items to bring aboard the Invincible 2: what items are in that bag? (Assume that uniforms and toiletries are provided and they only need to bring non-necessities)

Hmmm okay, so when Yona is planning what to put in this duffel bag, it would likely be the sorts of things you'd bring with you when you're moving to a new place-- but you're specifically downsizing, so you're not taking any furniture with you or anything like that. So instead it would have to be irreplaceable personal shit, like old journals. Her university diploma. Any souvenirs she might have from places she's traveled to-- or that were given to her by other people who went to those places. Things her little cousins made for her. I know for sure that Yona owns a picture frame that's made to look antique with filigree and stuff, but it's actually digital and cycles through various pictures. Do non-uniform clothes like comfy pajamas, formalwear, and/or accessories count as non-necessities that wouldn't be provided by the ship? If so, then she'd bring at least a few articles of those too.

There is another question that Yona would be asking herself when considering what to bring on the Invincible, which is: "What are some things from Earth that I want to personally make sure exist on this new planet we're going to colonize? When the future generations that will grow up on this planet ask me what Earth was like, what will I want to show them?" But I have to imagine that the people running this colony program would have already thought to reserve space on the ship for like, Important Human Culture Stuff, so if Yona has any ideas for what to include, they would go there, not in her personal duffel.

Stages of Confession | ISWM VALENTINES DAY PIECE

Mark didn’t know how to feel. He had been going to treat Valentine's Day like any other day.

He’d gotten out of bed, headed to the nearest breakroom to get himself some coffee and microwaveable porridge. Taking a moment to add some strawberries and syrup for flair, it was Valentine’s Day afterall! Then he headed to his locker to grab his tool box and go out on repairs.

Then two slips of paper fell out.

He frowned at this. He was pretty sure he hadn’t put those there-

The closer one was light blue, so he picked it up first.

You melt my icy heart.

“What-“ Murmured Mark, as he felt his face heat up. “Who could these be from-“

Before he could panic further, he felt his tablet going off. He had repairs he needed to get too. He slipped the cards into his front pocket and scrambled off to work. He’d think about this more later.

Mark rushed through his work that day, wanting to find solace in his office so he could think.

He sat at his desk, staring at the two cards. Who were these from?! Who on the Invincible would want to be his Valentine. The mere thought that someone could be interested in him felt insane-

He definitely wasn’t over thinking this-

Knock knock.

Oh someone was at his office-

“Computer, who’s at the door?”

“Celci and the Captain, sir.”

“Oh! Why?”

“They’ve come to see your response to their Valentine’s Day cards.”

“…W h a t-“

Before he could think further, the door opened and the two stood in the doorway. The Captain had a certain soft fondness to their face whilst Celci had a fond smug look to hers.

“Have you really been freaking out about our cards all day Mark?”

“…Maybe-“

The Captain snickered at this softly.

“Take it easy on him Cel, you know what people are like~”

“Fine, but only for you Cap.”

“Now, Mark, me and Celci were hoping to spend our evening together watching some movies. Would you care to join us?”

“…”

“Mark?”

“I’d love nothing more Captain.”

“Wonderful~”

The trio had a wonderful Valentine’s Evening, snuggled up in the Captain’s Quarters with a mix of horror and romantic comedies playing in the background of their night full of tender affections and soft words to one another.
