I've been through season 1 of Blue Lights and I'm honestly so pleased, surprised and amazed by the series.

BUT WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT IT???

Even on this app there Is no conversation and I'm so sad!

I've been also gone from saying Shit to Shite.

I found a new fictional man to obsess over, but man, he has no fan fictions because that TV show is new and doesn't have as much viewers :((

servant of two masters while merlin is kidnapped, arthur is running himself ragged trying to find a sign that merlin is still alive. his trail went cold the moment they left the forest and arthur has sent out practically every knight and guard to search and is debating on sending the servants out to join them. he hasn’t slept in near a week and is more snappish than usual. his uncle urges him to rest, insists that he can’t be much help to merlin on an hour of sleep. arthur begrudgingly relents and returns to his chambers but just as his fingers brush his blankets, his exhaustion dissipates. still it takes him another moment to realize theres an unnatural, ethereal blue glow lighting up his chambers

he spins and finds the same glowing blue orb that had guided him years ago when merlin was in danger, on the precipice of death. perhaps that is the only purpose for the light. with that thought a fresh wave of panic, fear, and desperation rocks through him as he stumbles forward, pleading that he has to find merlin. the light floats out his door and then through the winding halls of the castle and to his uncles chambers. he follows it in and toward his uncles desk.

he looks up in confusion when suddenly a drawer of the desk shoots out. the papers within flutter up and into a stack on the desk. the false bottom of the drawer rattles. arthur practically splits the wood in half tearing it from the drawer. he find a multitude of items but his gaze laser focuses in on the rolled up map within. as he unfurls it, he finds a very clear path from camelot to a hut nestles deep within the woods and hidden by magic.

it’s clear to him who the traitor is, who compromised the route, who took merlin from him-

arthur storms out of agravaine’s chambers and down to the throne room where he had been told his uncle would be direction the groups of scouts only to find his uncle alone in the room. his anger blazes hotter than ever before at he draws his sword and confronts his uncle. it takes a bit of wheedling and tossing of evidences in his face (metaphorical of course, no chance in hell is he letting go of the map to merlin) before his uncle starts laughing in his face as he brags about his treachery.

arthur swings his sword but the duel does not last long. agravaine is laying on his back, defenseless. arthur raises his sword to strike the killing blow when that cool blue of the guiding light fills his vision (he swears he can feel the ghost of merlin’s touch). he lowers his sword and calls on the guards to lock his uncle away in the dungeons. he sets percival and leon on guard duty bc they have his utmost trust and they care a great deal for merlin so they would never let agravaine go no matter what he said.

then arthur finally rides out to the hut with the remainder of his knights to save merlin

Why Rey's Story Should Have Been Similar to Anakin's (WITH A TWIST 😉 )

Ok! Bear with me, I know this can be a touchy subject but I promise you it's not the path you think this will go.

Anakin Skywalker was the chosen one who was destined to bring balance to the force. I'm not sure why he had to become Darth Vader to achieve this, but that may be a topic for another time. However, there is no doubt that he was destined to fall into darkness, as this was confirmed back in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, episode Ghost of Mortis (3x17), where Anakin was shown a vision from The Son about his future. However, Anakin has his memories wiped out by his father so the events would play out. Why do I bring this Up?

Picture Rey's story going this route: PALPATINE IS DEAD. However, he was working on a clone son that would surpass his apprentice Darth Vader. The Clone is a failure and is set free after the events of Return of the Jedi. At some point, the clone meets a woman and they have a daughter named Rey. However, her parents abandoned her on a desert planet because they were terrified of her powers and the darkness that resides within her. However, she survives, joins the resistance, and fights the evil in the galaxy. However, her greatest adversary finds out her true lineage, hoping she will join his side. However, there's a twist: REY KNEW.

She knew her parents left her behind because they feared her. She knew the true origin of her lineage because she overheard her parents talking about it (or another source). She knew what would happen if she allowed her negative emotions to get to her while surviving on Jakku. She knew but she fought against it anyway.

I believe this would have been a compelling story for the sequel trilogy to adopt. The protagonist fights against the destiny that everyone around her expects her to become. She's pulled in so many directions: Her friends fear her, her enemies push her, and the entire galaxy wants her dead. Yet, she chooses hope. JJ Abrams could have also sneaked in a few hints about Rey's dark potential until the big twist. Some examples could be:

Losing control (maybe like a sonic scream)

Physical deformation (like The Son)

or classic Sith eyes (maybe she keeps them hidden under her own mask)

I know this felt more like a rewrite than an analysis but I'm sure we've all come up with thousands of ways a story could have gone.

ive been obsessed with the concept of merlin who actually runs away with freya because after she got injured he panicked and healed her right in front of arthur. so he panicked, again, and ran away with her to live next to the lake. and they do build their lil cottage and have a strawberry farm and some cows. and they also have time to explore their feelings.

and its the funniest thing, because merlin has also been slowly crushing on arthur, and that much is clear whenever he talks abt him to freya. it doesnt make her jealous or anything, just sad that she knows they'll probably never be together. that the only time that merlin and arthur do "interact" is when merlin secretly saves his ass every week or so. like merlin technically never left, but now he gets creative, uses glamours, learns shape shifting after helping freya with her own curse.

he gets to meet with morgana now, because freya urged him to not leave her alone in this mess, so now we don't get evil morgana (yay!). merlin also tentatively tries to do the same with mordred whenever they do meet with the druids, especially when they were figuring out freya's curse, and mordred grows on merlin, so we also dont get evil mordred (great bonus).

and another thing that ive also been obsessed with thinking is that when the great purge began, nimueh tried to sought out balinor since i think they were friends, being 2 magic users with special abilities (high priestess and dragonlord). and she ended up at ealdor just in time to see merlin be born.

and then they meet later on, and nimueh kinda doesnt believe that that's merlin from ealdor since hes in fucking camelot. but then the questing beast happened. and when merlin goes to kill her, she manages to shield herself last second. and feeling that great power that she felt when merlin was born, because he was almost glowing golden and so potent she almost dropped him when she held lil merlin, her brain fucking stopped. she cannot kill merlin. and so she does something that she almost did when she met hunith, and she understood in that little time why balinor had stayed with her, and nimueh decides to use the power she has for her immortality to ensure arthur lives. so now she will age like a normal human, gaius is alive, and so is arthur. and now merlin and nimueh are very awkward with each other.

especially when a bit of time later they end up meeting with the druids to help freya and theyre also helping nimueh. she felt as if her powers were weaker, but merlin was like "yh no ure lying u feel exactly the same" n leaves thinking nimueh is plotting. when in reality she actually did think her powers were dying and that fear made it seem as if it was actually happening. her mind played tricks on her, and she almost believed her magic was dying.

so after this lil nimueh interlude, lets go back to freya and merlin.

the funniest thing abt theyre situation is that. while merlin is obviously crushing on arthur (and brooding abt it cuz yknow), freya is just. "merlin, i think im crushing on gwen." "???? have u met her?" "no but ive seen her and she smells like a good person and also i like what i know abt her from you." "ok-" "also im crushing on morgana." "freya." "also elyan." "GWENS BROTHER????" "HES. PRETTY. YOU CANT TELL ME THAT NOT TRUE CUZ LAST TIME I CHECKED UR EYES ARE WORKING FINE."

i do think that when freya finally gets control over her curse and has her lil space with merlin, her true sunshine gremlin nature comes out and she manages to be more chaotic than merlin, just also more sweet. and dangerous. she can turn into a literal monster.

also. merlin and freya getting married. and having babies. twins. its been on my MIND non stop yall, this has never happened before idc abt kids-

Just binged-watched the entire first season of Blue Lights in one evening.

It's been a long time since I've watched an entire season of a TV show so quickly... but I was gripped by the end of the first episode and immediately had to know what happened next!

We pretty much binged this one. Very good. I would really like to see more of Abigail McGibbon, who has a lovely little role as the gangster's ex-moll. Or is she?
