Can you make (insert character) as a puppet?

Making puppets takes ages and I really need to be motivated to do it, yes of course I'd love to make certain characters!! BUUUT I'd like to focus on the main characters I want to make at the moment!

How do you make your puppets?

Well uh... I really don't know how to make tutorials and with how different all the puppets are I don't think it'd be really possible, I made one once but maybe one day I'll make a proper something for this...

You guys (and my lovely ptrons) honestly keep me going! I'm reading your comments in the tags and your excitement there keeps me drawing!

Long comic projects like these are always the toughest to keep up with. To not lose the faith in them. Especially in this fast times! The initial hype of 'HEY THERE'S A NEW AU' usually dies after a few chapters of the thing (the reunion in this case) not happening YET.

And it's understandable!

We want to see our blorbos together and interacting, huh?

However, WW's still searching for his own blorbo. And to keep the atmosphere the way I want it to and the story somehow organic, he's gonna keep looking for a little longer now. So I am SO delighted you guys are hyped and excited to see what's next!!

The next one I'm posting will be the most difficult chapter I've drawn yet. And the one after that (which I just finished storyboarding yesterday) will have have another familiar face.

It's that time again - update rambles time kdfnalsdfnsd. The short version is, overall, I'm really pleased with this update, but there's... at least one thing missing that did sort of derail me in the end and I'll still need to go back and play it pubside on my Trooper, which I think I might enjoy slightly more for... cohesion of a story's sake, but that's. a) getting a bit into the actual ramble and b) getting my personal blorbo feelings involved which is absolutely what I do here but, let me do it in the right place, lmao.

Mechanically, this was. a really sweet update to me. There's lots of doing in progressing through the story part. The fights are engaging, the action is selling. It doesn't play like a bunch of run to checkpoint x, do y, hand in z, which is very nice. There's. actually a few things to consider. Comparing to 7.2 in Showdown, the action isn't just in the cutscenes this time - it's definitely there, too, I have plenty of nice action shots to add to the blasters out collection, lol - but it's also in the gameplay, at least from my take, so! I've really no complaints from a gameplay perspective thus far.

I haven't worked on any of the dailies or done the little follow up with Lane or whatnot yet because I sort of had my fill with the story for the day and I wanted to check out some of the lighting changes in other parts of the game, hehe! So, might run into other things later, but we'll see.

I also love seeing locations from earlier in the game making a comeback. The little hints here and there are enough to be exciting for me - though I see some people saying missed opportunity to do things with Jorgan and Corso and I will more than likely agree with that. I'd always be a sucker for more references.

Petra's really cool. I love her. Loved meeting her and working with her. As a local Imperial Agent enjoyer, I think it's only natural to say I do love the sneak and spy elements of this update, lol.

I got a lot of what I could've ever hoped to ask for out of this update. I'm just... missing the saboteur options? Which... really threw me at the end. There's at least a place or two that it felt exactly where those sort of options should've come up, but there's at least no directly labeled sight of them around, which is... jarring given Tyr's extensive history as a double agent for the Republic.

It's... a really tricky situation to deal with on Ord though, so that's. how I'm choosing to sort of interpret that one. There are some areas that felt a little too tight on strictly Imperial loyalty for how I typically play him, so it's. It's jarring, in short. One of my disappointment areas, I have to admit. I haven't done any of the dailies, but it looks like it'll end up being interpreted as Imperial support either way - which, fair, I'm playing an impside character, I know, but the lines were very clear on Ossus for where that saboteur option was involved and they even appeared on Manaan. I'm still hoping to see that storyline go somewhere even though there feels like there's a lot of moving parts on the board at the moment.

SO. With that said, onto my giggles and other miscellaneous references because it seems the last several story updates have thematically been reflective and reference-pockmarked for me, lol.

I cannot tell you the way I squealed with excitement to see these two in frame and actually doing something like cooperating.

And also the way I am, once again, haunted by being an Imperial Agent girlie. Because all I can think of in this is Double agent. Triple agent. Do you even know whose lies you're telling anymore?

Primarily, of course, my own feelings about blorbo who's been in the spy business for literally about half his lifetime and a double agent for maybe half of that - now he's going to balance being a double for the Republic with working with Sa'har? Ough. Tyr, babe. I hope you know what you're doing.

He wants to help her. He's wanted to from the start. Sa'har's I'm not sure I -want- to leave, speaking to that I'm not sure I can leave a job unfinished that Tyr is so, so painfully familiar with experiencing. Maybe he's got fleece over his eyes because of his own complicated feelings about working in unseen ways, but he does believe her.

ALSO THIS GIRL. NEARLY GIVIN ME A HEART ATTACK. GIRL I LIKED YOU DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT. Anyway. I love her. I love. Again, one of the most hilarious dialogue wheels you could give this man is I'm no traitor (lie, you've been once since you were in your late twenties, and you're like, what 46ish? It's been a long time since Hutta, agent) / I don't work with traitors (another lie, you're still kissing Theron Shan [Tyr. argues that doesn't count which is the only reason this is the option I went with] / and [Attack]

And then I won't be normal about him taking option 2 and dropping "I'd like to believe I've always been fighting for something greater."

I'm fine. I'm sure I'm fine. [Girl who is constantly plagued by the emotional agonies of maining a double agent.]

ANYWAY. Or perhaps also on that note. Krovos getting a little sharp about his misplaced priorities. Nothing comes of it. Yet. But it's enough to keep my brain stew going and bubbling about the weight of it all.

And it's just. so very Tyr to throw himself in the line of fire trying to keep people he meant to keep out of overcomplicating situations safe.

And I am, overall, just a sucker for the way this update brings it back to... I guess grass roots, you could say. Grounding the story in what's actually happening to places like Ord Mantell, brushing with some of the consequences on people in general - the Hidden Chain stealing supplies, possibly moving people, even, or at least their allies might be - sells the big story in the end, I think. Otherwise, the big, vague prophetic 'the fate of the galaxy sets on your shoulder' doesn't really settle as much. This might be what you're fighting for, or it might be what you're costing along the way. And I just like having that connective tissue that is 'they're here for supplies;' they're rebuilding and moving forward with plans after Ruhnuk, and Malgus's threat that all things will still unfold according to a plan is still lingering around.

And I really am just. Such a hopeless sucker for scenes like this. A little slice of just being people in between all the galactic turmoil and heroics.

So, I've still got a fair amount of things to be chewing on! Once I'm through this last week of finals stuff, I'll expect I'll hop on TrooperTyr and go. redamage my emotions further and play it pubside and have a whole other whirlwind of emotions about how he handles it too dlfknsadlkf;sld. For now, time to pop some screenshots into the queue! ^.^

The actual term for this is multiple discovery!

Basically the concept is that all creatures at the same point of evolutionary development will reach the same checkpoints of discovery, even if they get there in different ways.

You see this in history with how many ancient civilizations built pyramid structures.

You can ALSO see this in fandom where you get the same blorbo headcanon as someone else at the same point in the story as you.

It's not to shit on the concept of original thought, if anything it's a beautiful result of how alike we all are as humans at the end of the day.

Just so y'all know, if you as a fanfic writer come up with something, and another fanfic writer coincidentally comes up with the same thing... That is not plagiarism. That is a hive mind, and it happens a lot. A lot. And you do not have the right to make someone "credit you" for an idea that they came up with, just because it's similar to yours. By the way.

As far as who has TVs, I think all the division offices have one, because they were part of a military tech rollout. They have yet to really catch on individually, though. In the commercial district, there’s a TV store with a whole wall of them out front, and people tend to simple congregate in the streets to watch whatever’s on, as though it were a live playhouse. The difference is that it’s 24-hour programming, and when it’s not airing Central 46 C-SPAN it’s fueled by camera-happy insomniacs.

I used to live in a city that had a local access channel that a friend of mine swore by, which was a single-camera one-man puppet show performing the entire story of the Bible. Soul Society definitely has one of those, except it performs the full history of Soul Society. It’s actually incredibly well-researched and is the love labor of Some Guy who was granted access to and spent a lifetime absorbing the Kuchiki records. Byakuya has signed off on the show, but owing to its low production value, he did not consent to use of the Kuchiki name anywhere but in the credits roll.

There’s also a shopping channel that is essentially a slideshow of the existing SC catalogue, intercut with footage of straight-faced SC staffers describing the items. This show is incredibly popular, because it reaps the benefits of dual audiences: 1) People who want to buy stuff from the shopping channel, and 2) people who watch it because they think it’s a hilarious, dry-witted mockumentary-style social satire. (It is not.)

Similarly, there’s a fairly ambitious show that compiles "Lights and Sirens" style reporting from the top 13 most popular border checkpoints in Rukongai, filmed by bored shinigami sitting in firetowers. This show typically has the affect of John Trudell as Randy Peone in Smoke Signals’ KREZ Radio. (This would be my favorite show, she said, surprising no one.)

Yumichika, Renji, Ikkaku, and Hisagi DEFINITELY made a no-budget drama that was going for a found footage aesthetic but in actuality has the aesthetic of "Hisagi with a camcorder." Even though it’s supposed to be a hard-hitting crime thriller set in the universe of Detective Byakuya (but not centered on Byakuya), there are often entire sequences of, like, Yumichika doing tai chi on a dramatic outcropping in silhouette, sunset behind him, and the other three offering hushed commentary like nature documentarians.

I haven’t finished, because I need to sleep for school and because I was getting tired of the game (which is probably saying something since I did the mw2 campaign in one night even if it took like 9? Hours?)

Spoiler free (plot wise) thoughts!! Up to Gora Dam, right before it starts since I realized it was ANOTHER stealth mission and my love for Ghost couldn’t help me.

The amount of stealth missions is honestly exhausting, it’s fun for like 1 or two, like mw2 had the water mission with Gaz and the alone mission with Soap (plus the sniping if you want to count it) and while I had jokingly complained about not realizing I had signed up for Assassin’s Creed, Mw3 is so much worse 💀

Constant stealth missions that I at least couldn’t figure out a way to get around which had little to no checkpoints was a vibe killer, checkpoints in general might be a me playing on hardened difficulty thing but whatever..

Also accidentally killing civilians made me lose it, like I can go and watch the recording of my gameplay but I’m positive 90% of the time I wasn’t shooting at a civilian, literally shot at the enemies and the game was still like “Wuh oh!!”, other times I WOULD kill a civ and it not register? Annoying tbh

Oh my god the death scare with Price made me actually tear up, cuz I’ve been hearing shit abt this game that I genuinely thought man was a goner 😭

Rook dying also shook me and I’m not even sure why I care, I think I just liked the name. Ivan idc abt he kept getting infront of me during the first mission his death was deserved (I know nothing abt these guys)

Despite the 3 named chars who DID die, at least at this point the game doesn’t feel very..idk, cool as mw2? The stakes for some chars feel lower, like the fact Milenna just gave up like no big deal? Mfs used car batteries in the past game, plus at least in the mw2 remake it’s implied Laswell tortured that one cartel dude for info. I’m not asking for like torture porn i just feel like these chars feel less morally Grey at times than they should be, but that’s just me!!

The fact you don’t get  accelerators(? The things you use to get up rope) is so fucking stupid imo, I get why it would at times be too easy to have it from the start, but why would a soldier be going in without basic gear?? They could have just designed maps to not have so many fucking ropes that can’t actually be used unless you get the shit halfway through the mission and die so you’re reset at the start with the gear you’ve collected?

+Plus it’s confusing to figure out which ropes you HAVE to use, which means fiending around for the right gear, and what ropes are there for later convenience, or maybe I’m stupid and don’t have the critical skills to figure that out without wasting time scavenging first

Idk, it’s odd, ‘nother stealth-like mission was where Laswell had to find that Russian informant dude, which I had to turn the difficulty down for because I kept triggering ppl around to be sus even if I either wasn’t near them, or had no choice but to be close to them? Figuring out if the game wants you to full stealth or if you could technically (but with some difficulty) do it loud is annoying cuz unless I suck at the game there’s no option for scurrying and shooting 😭

gonna start the mw3 campaign in a lil bit, I hope it's something that I can find the same insanity and enjoyment of mw2 campaign in <33
