What is the future for Ask TMS?

Ask TMS will continue. However, the videos will be produced sparingly. As much as I LOVE the video format, it is more tangible for me to produce them in comic form, especially considering my decision to fully animate the main series. Just saves more time and energy for the good stuff!

So what about the voice acting?

Don't worry! It's not going anywhere! Every now and then, I will compile the contents of this blog into a dub, which will go on my YouTube channel. Individual snippets may be posted infrequently as well, as shorts. I'm doing this not only for myself, but to ensure content will continue coming out for everyone on a regular basis. Things take time to get done. I'm not the only person working on TMS, and same goes for "Ask TMS Episode 0." It took over 3 months to get it done even though it took 1 day for me to edit it and draw. If I continue Ask TMS as ask blog comics first, it's completely up to me to get the work done, and not have to manage anyone else. It's just too fast paced for me to manage other people on volunteer work and not expect huge delays. So there will be dubs, sooner or later.

OKAY! So after a delay from a nasty as all getout sinus headache among other aches and pains, I've got the vast majority of my carrd updates DONE! <3 Of notable updates:

All FF7 verse info for Sera, as well as misc info for the experiment AU Frozen Flames, has moved to its own area! All info specific to FF7 verses can be found HERE from here on out!

There's been some edits to her 7 info and lore - Namely that the lore given by Chadley on the Phoenix summon in Junon is, ultimately, wrong. There were multiple phoenixes of varying elemental ties, not just fire, and Sera is the human form of one known as Aria, seeking to hide after aiding Shiva, her best friend and fellow goddess, while her brother Thoma is the actual fire phoenix, the summon that's collectable during Rebirth being only a fragment of his power left behind to guard that area. However, there is no way for anyone to prove Chadley's information wrong; Sera doesn't remember and neither does Thoma, and they will not ever remember. This is something that was added as a bit of background lore, and could be used with plotting - But Sera herself will not remember and be unable to say one way or another on any of it, especially with much history of the original phoenixes being lost by the time of Remake/Rebirth. Please note this is tied solely to my own version of Shiva written on @shinrarisen. Further notes regarding this lore edit are at the top of the FF7 misc section.

Sera also has a small sensitivity to mako and the lifesprings due to the previous point that's been added.

Her magic and spellcasting is stronger than most due to the fact her core is that of a phoenix, but it's only a small bit stronger - I.e. while someone else in SOLDIER might be able to create a 5 foot wide hunk of ice, Sera's might be 5 and a half and a fair bit denser; a small increase, but not one that's going to make that much of a difference.

The main carrd/info has gotten a HEAVY update that I feel like was long overdue, too, including the following:

The main info has been largely rewritten, and heavily tweaked where it's not been rewritten, mainly to bring Sera in line with her status as a fandomless/original OC. While she still has primary verses in Genshin, FF7, and Star Rail, Sera has always been fandomless and fully original at her core, and I wanted to return her to that. The reason she wasn't initially on this blog was because I had her verses split between two blogs and only meant for this one to serve as a hub for FF7 stuff rather than let it take over my other blog, but since she's been fully moved here and I'm not using my other blog right now, I wanted her to fall back in line with her roots as fandomless at her core. This is all overall primary info now that applies to all fandoms, while the other specific fandom based areas (FF7, Genshin) contain further verse specific additions on top of this.

A new mark has been added; regardless of verse, Sera now has multiple oddly-shaped blue marks across her upper back that resemble scars, and are called birthmarks for her entire life, but are in truth a physical tie to her core as a Fenix. More information on these marks and how they tie in can be found in this post.

So much more has been developed for Halcyon Era, and the carrd was horribly outdated in its info, so that, too, has been updated where nessecary, cementing her newer and expanded story as canon like it belongs. Just like above, though, please keep in mind that while there are subtle nods that Sera's not completely human, she doesn't know she's not. As far as she's concerned, she and Thoma are 100% human but have odd abilities they can't explain occasionally, like the ability to use magic they never speak of outside of incredibly trusted companions. Despite Aria sleeping inside Sera and Sera and Aria being the same person, Sera does not have, and will not gain, access to her full original power. More notes on this can be found in the carrd.

Sera having the ability to use a sword has been added, though this is a 'once in a blue moon' thing!

Updated her weaponry loadout to reflect her reliance on magic and archery.

Rewrote much of the 'Lifestyle' section and added to it, and completely rewrote the 'misc' section in full. Since these also better explain Sera as a Fenix, and the writeblr on it is coming up, also took the chance to remove the 'phoenix lore' section entirely.

Edited mentions of Thoma away from 'cousin' and in where he belongs as her older brother, because wow I should've done that ages ago!

There are mentions of the writeblr - The Halcyon Era sideblog that will have the full Halcyon project in far deeper detail - sprinkled throughout the main carrd, but I have yet to link it; @yoroiis and I are working around weather, health, and schedules to try and get it to a point where we can make it open for people to read as much as we possibly can, and it'll get its links just about everywhere as soon as we hit that point! It's gone through a ton of plotting and still has a lot more coming for it even after we open this sideblog of ours up, so that's next up on the list of tasks to do, for sure~!

Of course, these aren't the only edits I've been planning to do, I do still have tweaks to do to the Genshin side of things and small edits here and there to make, and it's not complete by a long shot, but these are the major ones I've been meaning to get to for a while. So much has evolved with Sera in recent months that I really wanted the updated, solid information down and public before I got back into the swing of things, and while it's not 100% complete, it's close enough for me to call done for now~! <3

Hi. I binged like 80 chats in a row and I have opinions(tm) about physical strength and general power stuff of the brothers. Mostly just strength related things, but I tried to cover most of their battle stuff.

Yes I know, yes I know, "they're ranked as siblings by power blabla", but that's LAME. So here are my personal takes mostly for fun. Canon is dead and I ate it.

Also I finished the dividers and general aesthetics of this blog woo

★ Lucifer.

Generally the strongest, period, can and WILL kill almost anyone without much issue or even second thought

Physical strength, however? He’s not the best, as he doesn’t rely on it at all for battle / conflict

He didn't need it in heaven, after all

(Beel was his brawns and he was already a powerful angel so it never was a requirement)

I don't see him actively working out (anymore, at least), so most of his strength is merely his baseline

His main tactic conflict wise is intimidation.

Cough giving MC death threats cough

Very prideful of himself in battle, obviously

Rarely would ever use any sort of dirty tricks

Would probably prefer to go down the "honorable way"

Target his brothers though and he WILL play every trick in the book with little regard to his pride or his own life

This fuck looks like he knows swordsmanship and is probably the only of the brothers who does so

(except maybe Satan who is learning just to copy / be better than him)

Either that or he knows fancy sword dances for angel rituals he cannot partake in anymore (and doesn't do them anymore)

Diavolo has photos of him doing said dances but his lips are triple sealed since it is a heavily touchy subject

★ Mammon.

Canonically this man is physically weak (or at least has a weak complexion / scrawny arms)

Probably the most disappointing in terms of strength because he is literally the second born

His saving grace is his unholy speed and dirty tricks, using it to cover his weaknesses / lack of physical strength.

A LOT of dirty tricks and bs magic stuff. So so many. Never ends

He’s the living embodiment of the “random bullshit go!!!” meme

You know Looney tunes? Yeah this man has the Bugs bunny's levels of bullshit

But he has the best stamina out of his brothers (so he can run away from his debts)

Doesn't train because he's already perfect as it is (<- that's his ego talking he can barely pick up the weights at Beel's gym)

Honor is for the dead type of person. Nothing is out of the table in battle

(^ that makes him terrifying to fight against btw)

He either tries to intimidate (imitating Lucifer) or sweet-talk his way out of conflict

It usually just pisses off his adversary more which actually leads to the fights starting, but hey, he tried 乁⁠(⁠ ⁠•⁠_⁠•⁠ ⁠)⁠ㄏ

★ Leviathan.

Physical strength is shit.

he will get his shit kicked if he tries to brawl with almost anyone

Except maybe the lowest hanging fruit (humans)

Magical or general strength is decent, but he's definitely not the greatest in battle out of the brothers

^ he's kinda insecure about this and he wishes he were stronger (he sulks about it)

Wishes that actual irl battles were like Fire Emblem or strategy games bcs he's actually good in those

Update: I didn't make it clear (mb lol) but I see him as the best strategist of the brothers by far, he just isn't good at front-line action

^ Being away from the front lines keeps the pressure away from him for the most part, and it avoids him getting riled up and acting rash

He once tried to workout with Beel but quickly got overwhelmed because Beel shoved 200kg weights onto him thinking it was an reasonable starting point

So he kinda has trauma(tm) about it

Despite his garbage physical prowess, he WILL start fights and get riled up easily

He goes onto his demon form immediately when he wants to fight

^ bcs his strength isn't great, and he needs any boost he can get

Plus, awful anger management

My man will get onto a fist fight with the demon equivalent of a redditor over anime waifus and he will lose

★ Satan.

As the literal embodiment of Wrath, he does pack quite a punch and will maul you to death with only his fists. No problems at all

But that's merely his baseline strength (which is a lot) since he doesn’t really train physically

Probably focuses on other areas (read: intelligence) instead of physical strength.

Which is ironic because he could kick Lucifer's ass in a fist fight if he actually trained more

But oh well. Books do be booking

Surprisingly strategic while in fights, although not above Going Apeshit

Funnily enough the least likely of the brothers to enter a fight

Has read The Art Of War and will quote it just to be a smartass

★ Asmodeus.

Physically? Weak.

Probably the weakest of the brothers, having more or less the strength of a human (and on the weaker side of that).

He doesn’t train whatsoever; Likes his slender figure and muscles “ruin” that.

However, he makes up for it on the "trickster" scale.

As the Avatar of Lust, he will probably go the charm route instead of wanting to directly fight his enemies, or he make someone else do the dirty work for him.

Think of Mammon but make it a bit less scummy, tricks wise.

His go-to is sweet talk.

Something something the Avatar of Lust being physically weak since sex is considered an act of vulnerability and therefore the lowering of one’s guard something something

Something something the poetic narrative of the Avatar of Lust having only power through Communication something something

★ Beelzebub.

Contrary to Asmo; he does lift for days and can pack quite the punch, being one of the stronger brothers physically despite being one of the youngest.

I don't see him caring much for magic or other types of strength, he is content in packing the punch and has the capabilities to back him up.

Fight wise he will probably punch the problems away

Maybe use one or two tricks he’s learned

Mostly relies on his intuition and gut and it surprisingly works out

Nothing fancy; Dictionary definition of all muscle no brain battle wise

Literally one of the scariest brothers to ever fight he will actually beat you to a bloody pulp

And make a smoothie out of it

★ Belphegor.

This fucker doesn't lift at all you can't tell me shit

At MOST he'll accompany Beel to the gym and would sleep at the benches

The strength he has is the strength he was born with

Which isn't a lot, but still above human average by quite a lot

More or less demon standard of strength. Maybe a slightly below it

But he's still above most demons by a mile in other regards, mostly magic prowess

He's stronger than Levi because I think it would be hilarious that the dude who sleeps all day is stronger than him

(or you can make him really physically strong just because it'd be funny to see the sleepy dude kick ass)

(either way is funny as shit go ham)

Season 8A: Date and time discrepancies

While I was live blogging episode 8x8, I posted a question about the time frame when Eddie told Brad it had only been three months since Chris went to Texas but I knew then it was BS because it didn't make any narrative sense (linked here).

Recently, I've seen a few speculation posts about the time frame and some were alluding to the idea that viewers should just get over it but when things deal with dates, time, numbers and money, I can't because I'm a "left-brain" or logical and analytical thinker and things have to make sense to me for them to be believable. Also, if it's said in CANON without proof, then I'm going to try my best to understand WTH they're doing. Granted I know 9-1-1 has LOTS OF DISCREPANCIES especially with characters' ages (Buck, Eddie, Chris and Denny to name a few and I've already posted about them numerous times) but the time difference Eddie mentioned is significant and I won't ignore it. Instead of drafting a brand-new post about this, I'm going to include my notes from a chapter in a fic I'm updating today since IMO, it's the only logical explanation for the discrepancy.

"As of episode 8x8, Chris had been in El Paso for 6 months because there’s no way he could have only been gone for 3 months since he’s in school (here in the U.S., new school years begin in early to mid-August) and he’s in the chess club.  Additionally, Buck’s relationship started in April and it’s CANON that it lasted for 6 months, therefore since Chris left L.A. at the end of May, it means he’s been in Texas for 6 months and the CANON date on Eddie’s iPad during their last FaceTime call was listed as November which further validates my claim.  This isn’t the only time ‘inconsistency’ the show has included, in fact there have been a lot of them.  It’s interesting because it shouldn’t be one at all but I’m also not surprised since they RETCON things whenever they want to without a valid explanation (looking at Buck’s, Eddie’s, Chris’, Shannon’s and Denny’s ages).  Be clear, Chris has been gone for 6 months and I won’t debate that fact since 3 months doesn’t make any narrative sense.  If he would have only been gone for 3 months, he wouldn’t already be enrolled in school." I think TM (showrunner) retconned the time Chris has been gone because HE DIDN’T REALIZE VIEWERS WERE GOING TO BE PISSED THAT CHRIS HAS BEEN AWAY FROM EDDIE THAT LONG.  His lack of planning and outlining the season in advance and making last minute changes to the script is the cause and I’ve said this before, when a person fails to plan, they’re planning to fail and during the summer months, TM admitted during an interview that he doesn’t plan seasons in advance.  Since he doesn’t do it like he should, 9-1-1 ends up with time, age and continuity issues that show up, they end up being cluster f~cks and it’s been this way since season 5 but I digress.

I included this in my notes for Chapter 7 of my fanfic titled, “I can’t imagine anything more painful than going through life alone. Except maybe one thing… going through death alone.” While I was writing it, this seems to be the only plausible explanation for the difference stated unless Buck's still in a coma like I explained he could be in my "Buddie Crack Theory" (linked here).

TM (showrunner) said during the hiatus last summer (linked here) that he doesn't plan seasons out in advance which is a shame and it's the reason why everything is so messed up now. He makes last minute changes and they end up being noticeable with the pacing, editing, timing and continuity.

TL:DR: Basically, TM had the writers include Eddie saying "Chris had been in El Paso for 3 months" because viewers are pissed at the amount of time Eddie and Chris have been away from each other. I mentioned this would be an issue at the beginning of the season and it still is (linked here). Since we know better and we know how to count, he can't just haphazardly stick an arbitrary number of months into a scene and believe no one will notice.

I noticed it and I won't just move on from this because it matters and Eddie's storyline should have been handled better but I digress.
