🌸Yen Press Pre-Order Haul🌸

Starting off with the fresh series we've finally gotten Hirano & Kagiura here! Kind of sucks that the prequel novel didn't release first, but beggars can't be choosers, so I'm just happy to finally get it!

Next is Touring After The Apocalypse. Not gonna lie, the thing that got me to pay attention to this series is that when the cover was revealed I noticed that the car in the foreground was an electric GTR. So yeah, maybe a bit of an impulse purchase, but a modern take on a post-acopalytpic Slice of Life? I'm definitely curious enough to investigate with this first volume.

Coffee Moon is one I've been excitedly waiting for since it's first announcement. A really incredible concept with some wonderful art and a mystery lurking right under your nose so badly that you just can't wait to get your hands on it. I've had friends read digitally that have really praised this series so I'm definitely blitzing this first volume tonight.

The last new "series" is Fox Tales by Tomihiko Morimi. Yen really has me confused. The have The Night Is Young, Walk On Girl and this collection of short stories, but not Tatami Galaxy? Very odd, but anyways definitely going to be a fun book to take a break with between other series and entries. Makes it feel like you can put it down whenever given that it's not a single collective story. Also, just a perfect refresher for Tatami Galaxy since Walk On Girl released in 2019.

Finally, the second volume of Shadows House. I'll purchase this series no matter how dirty Yen Press does it, but the English release really can't compare to my Japanese copies, or any of the other localizations I've seen so far. That said, I'm still praying for the day that they do a full color print for this story.

2018 Dodge Challenger Demon vs Nissan GTR

This is what we want to see as muscle car fans. A Dodge Demon blitzing a R35 Nissan GTR (oops, spoilers!) at Bandimere Speedway, Morrison Colorado at nearly 6000 feet above sea level. The Demon warms up in the traditional muscle car way of producing a cloud of tire smoke the size of a small moon, then launching with the front end nearly coming off the ground and still winning by a good margin. 10.84 seconds at 127.57mph to the Demon and 11.61 seconds at 122.12 mph for the, eeerrr, other thing.

These aren’t the greatest of times for a drag race, but a win is a win and at altitude. The R35 Nissan GTR is a great vehicle in itself and there is no point hating on it just for the sake of its brand. It’s just that the Demon has more inherent showmanship than the overly clinical R35 Nissan GTR and as a muscle car website we are clearly rooting for the Demon, which is of course the best anyway out of the box and more ridiculous fun.

It’s a bit like a race between a bulldog and a greyhound. Both are quick off the mark, but it’s far more fun to watch the Bulldog’s bulk of muscle propel forward, win then pop a most muscular pose for good measure at the end. Over the top, bucketloads of power and if treated right, can be just as friendly as anything else out there. The Bulldog also scares the crap out of people just by standing there. It has inate presence and so does the Demon. The Greyhound GTR is very capable, but just a very lanky dog who can’t be bothered fetching a stick between races as its too docile.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2018: Day 1

If you’re an automotive enthusiast in the US, then you’ve probably heard of SEMA. It’s the biggest automotive expo in the US. Japan has a pretty big car scene and Tokyo Auto Salon, TAS for short, is their version of SEMA. With huge names like Liberty Walk coming from Japan, TAS is full of awesome cars. Here is are some of the cool vehicles and booths we saw on our first day there.

3D Designs

3D Designs is pretty well known for their carbon fiber body parts such as front lips and rear wings. They brought a BMW i8 equipped with their front lip and rear spoiler.

Advan and Yokohama

Advan is an extremely popular wheel brand that enthusiasts all over the globe use. Their booth features a small wall full of their different wheel styles. Also at their booth was a Toyota 86 featuring a carbon fiber trunk, a massive rear wing, and a carbon fiber hood. Also at their booth was a Lexus LC500h which is becoming massively popular in the JDM community.

Blitz

Blitz is yet another very popular brand in the JDM community. They produce everything from radiators to body kits. They’re also extremely well known for their awesome sounding exhaust system. In their booth was a Nissan Leaf with some goodies under the hood and a simple body kit on the outside. Also in their booth was a Lexus LFA and a Honda Civic. All three vehicles were painted the same white color.

Cusco

Cusco is best known for their roll cages and chassis bracing, but they also produce limited slip differentials and many other parts. At their booth was a wide body Toyota 86 and the entire rear subframe of a Toyota 86 equipped with a ton of their parts. Also at their booth was a table full of differential, transmission, and brake parts.

Fairy Designs

Fairy Design produces all sorts of awesome looking body kits and body parts for a wide array of vehicles. At their booth was a Toyota CHR equipped with their wide body kit and Fuel Off-Road wheels. Also at the Fairy Design booth was their Mercedes-Benz GLE-43 AMG which has been equipped with their body kit and Rotiform wheels. The last vehicle at their booth was a Maserati Levante rocking their widebody kit and Niche road wheels.

HKS

HKS is one of the biggest names in the JDM market. At their booth was an insanely wide Toyota 86 race car and two FA20 engines. The first engine is equipped with their supercharger kit and the second engine is equipped with their turbocharger kit.

Pandem Rocket Bunny

Chances are you’ve heard of Rocket Bunny. They produce some of the most internet famous wide body kits ever. At their body widebody R35 GTR on air suspension, a wide body Honda Civic EG, a widebody BMW E90, and a wide body Porsche.

RE Amemiya

RE Ameniya is best known for their RX7 parts. Predictably at their booth were two RX7s in the blue color that RE Ameniya is known for. They also had a rotary engine on display with a couple of rotors next to it.

Varis

Varis is best known for their body kits and is pretty popular in the JDM community. At their booth was an R35 GTR, Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi EVO, Toyota Supra, and an FK8 Civic Type R. All of these vehicles were equipped with Varis’ body kits and look pretty darn awesome.

Liberty Walk

Liberty Walk is another extremely well known company best known for their insane widebody kits. Their most popular body kits are for high end cars such as Lamborghinis and GTRs. In their booth was a Lamborghini Aventador, Nissan R35 GTR, Multiple Acura NSX, and a Lamborghini Miura. All of the vehicles in their booth were equipped with a Liberty Walk widebody kit, and some of them also featured air suspension.

Firstly, you arrange the mode at the beginning”without pedestrian density, without traffic density and without cop density. “You choose Panoz GTR-1 as your vehicle. Then you go to the San Francisco’s track.Your speed must be 250 mp/h preasely when you pass through the red bridge of San Francisco. The place of the car there must be between the white line in the left and the pavement in the right.When you reach the end of the bridge you automatically bump off and you end on the “Marin.”

Cheats

Super Speed (NOS)

Press “y” during a race to bring up the cheat box. Enter the code “Superspeed”. After entered, press “v” to get a 100MPH speed boost. This code may not work sometimes in Windows98, I have no clue why.

Timers Stopped

While doing any race that is timed you can stop the time by: pressing F2 and then Q and then Q again. The time will be paused until you press F2 again. NOTE: There will be no arrow pointing to the next checkpoint. Do this at the beginning of the Blitz race or Checkpoint Race or whatever.

Cheat Menu

Remember all the cheat menu in Midtowm Madness 1? You won’t need to press Control, Alt, Shift, F7 at the same time. JUST PRESS “Y” for Midtown Madness 2. Cheats after pressing Y

Destroy Cop Cars In One Hit

While Playing The Game Press “Y” And then Type “Knockoffpolice”. If Done right, One hit will disable a cop car.

Disable Timer

Press [F2] to pause the game, then type “qq”. Note: This also disables checkpoint arrows.

Team Angels Decals

Press Up when you go to the VW Beetele RSi.

Alternate Car Appearance

Select the Voltswagon Beetle Rsi and press [Up] on the color list while on the top color to see the MS Race texture.
