Wandering the desert at night was never smart. Sulvric definitely knew better. Yet, he could have sworn he saw that damn Bull out there! He'd left his horse behind as he stupidly ran out over the sand, gun drawn. But, unfortunately, all he found was a blasted Dune Devil!

"Son of a--!!" he shouted as the monster's body leapt from the sand, firing a shot that only bounced off its chitinous shell. Not good. He ducked and rolled as the creature struck and grabbed with powerful pinchers. But it was used to nimble prey.

Sharp pain bloomed from his back as the stinger met its mark. Now it was really bad. With a gleam in his eye, he marked his quarry. Another shot was fired, this time grazing the Devil's hood and making it shriek in fury as blood was spilled. But that only pissed it off more.

A meal shared between passing strangers on the road was honestly one of Vorel's favorite things. The kindness of strangers always fascinated her, made her feel so warm... Speaking of warmth--

"If you don't mind a bit of spice, I have something to really bring this up a notch." She pulls a spice bottle out of her bag, the contents a mix of angry red flakes of all colors, "Unadune's Fire salt! It's my favorite, but I don't have much left. I wouldn't mind sharing it, though."

The drow would shoot the other a sharp glare at that. Well, if they weren't salty before, they certainly were now. "My apologies, next time I consider feeling negative emotions I'll chose not to, to spare you the inconvenience." Sarcasm would drip from the warlocks lips, as they rolled their eyes.

They would then go back to repeatedly casting Prestidigitation to clean off the mud that currently coated most of their clothing.

Hey there I’m not sure if you’ve already answered this in another post and if so please direct me there, but I’m curious about your opinion on wizards of the coast’s decision to remove half-elves and half-orcs as a player race option and their statement that they don’t feel comfortable with it or that it’s appropriate to use. For it? Against it? Indifferent? Or whatever opinion it is you feel on it. Thanks for your time and all the great content you make!

So this is going to sound weird but back in the day d&d was ALL ABOUT BREEDING, with a particular focus on how fantasy miscegenation was either an irrefutable stain on your bloodline or a way to gain superpowers. The whole sorcerer class was based on being blood related to a dragon, orcs were an existential threat because any child they had was an orc by default (can't have d&d without some refurbished white supremacy in there) and there were loads of feats about tapping into your magical or monstrous lineage.

3rd party material took this one step further with THIS handy chart pulled from the infamous book of erotic fantasy

And the ever industrious ronin press putting out their own compendium full of ...lets say, unique combinations (elf/giant eagle, halfling/blinkdog)

While these may seem exceptionally weird, these books were quite wide spread, and just riffing off of what was already in the game. You have to remember that yesterday's horny nerds were of a completely different variety than today's horny nerds, with the former being largely asocial guys insecure over their ability to be traditionally masculine, and so the game's subtextual sexual hierarchy has virginal elfmaids at the top as a prize, with a decending scale of attractiveness *coughwhitenesscough* down to the like to monstrous humanoids like orcs and goblins.

This in turn goes back to Tolkien, who has an implicit racial hierarchy in the background of his stories (which he himself refutes many times) that has elves being better than humans who are themselves better than orcs. In this context, we can see how being half elf makes you better than regular humans, just like being half-orc makes you better than the average orc. We can see this by the fact that in older versions of the game half orcs had HALF the intelligence stat penalty of "full blooded" orcs.

While I myself have recommended treating halforc stats as just "orc" (and ignoring all the rapey overtones that originally came with the combination) Wotc's removal of "half" player races comes a little too late to win any points from me. Like any company with a problematic history they're dealing with surface level problems while completely ignoring the structural faults within their own history.

#25 was about listening music when I draw and that's totally a yes, I do! otherwise I almost can't focus at all. I tend to listen to music that helps me with that. I have a playlist for every one of my ocs, so if I need to focus on a particular mood I'm covered. But when things get particularly hard (like when it comes to the boring parts such as rendering a painting and/or cleaning a messy lineart) I would need one of the adhd focus playlists that could be found on spotify. They're a lifesaver!
