Ok so, I got curious about the head fin/crest and blend. These are all saffron basic/saffron blend scrys.

My immediate thought is, do fae's head fin/crest do the same thing? Are they orange at the base then fade to blue? The answer is no, they start blue and fade to orange.

So that's inconsistent. What about other breeds? Undertides also start blue and fade to orange. Matching faes and inconsistent with sandsurges.

Auraboas also currently (02/21) follow the crest rule

On the other hand, if its hair or a mane, the colors seem flipped. Starting with orange at the base and fading to blue.

Except for M pearlcatchers?? Which are blue at the top and orange at the bottom, which might match sandsurges the best.

Coatls follow the hair/mane rule, starting with orange and fading to blue.

And skydancers hair follows the hair rules, but their feathers follow the crest rules. So they do both.

In conclusion, uhhhhhhhhh idk???? Sandsurge crest should follow the crest rules probably. And coatls should be marked as bugged cause its not hair??

I am genuinely considering a different secondary, because it just looks bad. It's not terrible, I'm sure other colors and dragons have it worse, but it's just. Bad.

I'm really not vibing with whatever staff is doing now. Not only does there seem to be a total internal communication breakdown, there also seems to be an absolute disregard for how the players are affected by this.

Like, ignoring the fact that the consistency argument doesn't even hold water, their takeaway from the Fern/Paisley thread seems to have been "oh we gotta change Breakup and Hypnotic too!!"

And then completely reversing Sandsurge Blend on top of that? A gene that's been out for over half a year and was only listed as having the gradient softened, not reversed? Just a total failure to communicate and an absolute bullheadedness in pushing the changes through despite the very reasonable player concerns?

To top it all off, none of these are bug changes, they are style changes. Someone saw these genes before they went live, greenlighted them, and put them in the game. And now, months upon months later, someone else (presumably) says "fuck that, I want the gene to look like this instead" and that complete change is just... pushed through??

Like. Did they learn nothing from the Butterfly debacle, from Obelisk Flair, hell, from the Eyepocalypse?

What the fuck is going on behind the scenes?

most space rabbits are these neutral, earthy colors with at least Some Faint Sort of Pattern (usually that which are leftover from childhood). In my next post ill show some uncommon coats as well!

Just wanted to see how much they change after a fix. Posting in case anyone else is curious.

The Skydancer is really subtle, more noticeable on the horns and head pendant thing. For Fathom H, I wasn't even aware there was a color fix on the wings before, but honestly she looks better with both changes. The inner ears make her face pop out more. Been waiting for this Fathom F elbow wing fix and I do think it's a decent compromise. I like it! The wing reads better than before, it's not a jumbled mess of colors and patterns now.
