Hers Forever-Izanami X Reader

TW: A little yandere-ish, description of crawly things, and all around ghost vibes courtesy of Izanami

You always felt like you were being watched when you worked. You could never tell who was watching you, nor where they were watching you from. Every second of every day you could feel their eyes on you, boring through your being and right at your soul. At first, it unnerved you. Eventually though, you got used to it. You had to. You just couldn’t jump at every sound or every little thing in the corner of your eye.

Then, one day, the Emperor summoned you and made a declaration.

For as long as the world remained alive, you were to be hers.

It was then that everything went to hell in her handbasket.

You stared at the ceiling of your new “Home” as you laid in your new bed.

It was an empty, desolate place that was far, far too large.

You guessed that there were servants who took care of the place since there was less than a speck of dust on every surface, and yet you couldn’t say for sure.

After all, not once since you had been brought here had you seen any living thing beyond the occasional bird soaring through the air and squirrel scampering across the trees in the garden.

No, that wasn’t quite right.

As far as you knew, the Emperor was alive.

Admittedly, you doubted the validity of that thought with every passing meal.

Every meal, she sits across from you as you eat, an empty plate before her and her all too familiar gaze boring into you with that eternally flat face of hers.

You couldn’t even confidently say that you have seen her breathe.

In fact, you haven’t heard anything from her at all since she made her declaration.

Everything about her, from her footsteps to her robes which should’ve rustled and made noise with every movement but didn’t, was totally silent.

The only thing you had ever received from her was that eternal gaze.

Even now, you could feel it on you.

You… think it is meant to be warm and caring.

Maybe that’s just your mind trying to make you feel better.

Either way, it didn’t help the feeling that could be best described as maggots writhing within your bones, centipedes crawling up and down your spine, and flies buzzing in your skull.

Every single nerve ending in your body was screaming at you, telling you that there was something deeply wrong with her, and whatever was wrong with her was not something that could be fixed by anyone alive or dead and especially not you.

Yet, what could you do?

She was the emperor, her word was absolute.

The cards had been dealt, and the only thing you could do was play with a dead man's hand.

So, you might as well try and make yourself as comfortable as possible.

It had been a month since you had been whisked away by force from your stable and normal life by the Emperor.

There were no restrictions on who you could talk to, but… what could you even say to the people you know?

“Hey! Sorry I dropped off the face of the planet! Turns out the Emperor digged me and decided that we are married now! What did you have for lunch today?”

No, that was preposterous and nearly drove you to a fit of maniacal laughter from the thought of it.

Right now, you didn’t need to talk to someone.

Right now, you needed something to clear your head, you needed a break from the deafening silence and the omnipresent feeling of her eyes upon the back of your neck.

You had tried reading, but were unable to truly focus on the material and what little concentration you had was shattered every time you turned the page, the normally quiet sound of papers turning into the shrill screams of banshees in your ears purely because of how unnaturally silent the world you now lived in was.

It was almost as if the pages themselves were screaming at you for being too loud, for disturbing the crypt-like quiet of their home.

That led you to the Inside of the large greenhouse on top of one of the wings, looking at the incredibly lush flora of all shapes and sizes.

It was the only place you had found that the silence seemed unable to reach, though her gaze still pricked at the back of your neck.

Luckily for you, you had long since gotten used to her gaze.

You took in deep breaths of the fresh, albeit humid, air as you walked towards a bench in the center of the room.

Without hesitation, you sat upon its wooden frame, leaning back, closing your eyes, and resting your weary and overstressed body.

This place was very, very different from the rest of the “House”.

It was actually alive.

It felt as if it actually existed, not like all the other empty rooms and halls that all felt as if they were pulled out of some world where only the long dead resided.

Briefly, you wondered who made the greenhouse before discarding the thought.

Thanking the creator of this paradise could wait, you needed to get your thoughts in order first.

You let out a deep breath before sitting up straight and opening your eyes.

In doing so, you revealed the face of a young woman, whose face was so close you would barely have to lean forward to kiss her.

She had vibrant purple hair that shone in the light, and contrasted sharply against her dull eyes that shared a shade with amethyst. Her skin was as pallid as a corpse’s and, in your opinion, looked closer in texture to ceramic or fine china than skin.

It was only after you noted her beauty that you noticed the robes and the headdress.

Your eyes widened and you had to bite your tongue to hold back a scream of shock.

The two of you remained in that position for a long while, or that is what your brain told you at least.

In reality, it could’ve been seconds, or hours and you would have no idea.

The spell was only broken when she spoke.

“Why are you in my garden?” The Emperor asked, her gaze unflinching and not at all betraying any form of emotion or apprehension about this being the first time she had spoken to you since she brought you here.

“I… wanted to relax.” you responded truthfully after briefly considering a lie before deciding that you would much rather not run the risk of execution.

“I see.” the purple haired woman muttered before backing away from your face, only to then gracefully step to the side and sit down on the bench next to you.

“Do be careful, we are rather high up.” she warmed in what you had to assume was her version of a kind tone of voice but instead sounded like ice being driven into your skull.

“I… uh… yes, Emperor.” you responded, not at all sure how to address the person next to you without running the risk of being put into a dungeon.

She turned to look at you, her eyes narrowing and sending your heart into what you imagined cardiac arrest felt like out of fear.

Had you addressed her the wrong way? Was she displeased by your hesitance? Were you about to die?

“My name is… Izanami.” The Emperor explained, revealing her name.

“Izanami?” you asked, your heart still racing at a speed that could not be healthy.

“Correct.” Izanami responded before returning her gaze back to the previous point it had been at, burning a hole into the wall of the greenhouse.

The two of you sat in silence, though it was markedly less terrifying than the silences that the two of you had shared before over meals.

Eventually though, your legs began to go numb and you were forced to stand.

“Your name is… pretty, Izanami.” you declared, hoping your wince was not too obvious to the one receiving the compliment.

“Thank you.” was all Izanami had to say in response, a tiny, imperceptible smirk on the side of her face out of view.

After the… serendipitous meeting in the greenhouse, you could feel the tension between you and her lessen, if only slightly.

Sure, the “House” was still so quiet you swear that someone could drop a pen on one side of the place and it would be heard on the other, but that is beside the point.

Especially considering that Izanami was… speaking.

You hesitate to say talking, and balk at the idea of her actually conversing, but she would respond to you when you said something, and on rare occasions, would ask or say something of her own accord.

Sure, it wasn't a normal exchange, in fact, it wasn’t even in the same country as anything even close to normal, especially not in the context of… whatever the hell was going on between you two, but it was leaps and bounds above what was going on before.

Still, you did have questions, like why did she pick you out of all the people in the world?

The question ate at you from the second she made her declaration.

There were obvious reasons for why you hadn’t asked it, and even now you seriously doubted you would even get an answer from her, but if you didn’t ask her now, you doubted you ever would.

And so, deciding to rip the bandaid off, you posed the question you had for her over lunch, not expecting her to even consider answering it.

“Initially, I took an interest in you because I found you attractive.” Izanami answered simply from the other side of the table, unknowingly putting you into what could be best described as mental stunlock.

It was such a simple reason, so common and pedestrian, something so antithetical to your perception of Izanami you could feel your brain cooking itself to comprehend it.

“You are not the only person I have ever considered attractive, it is also unlikely that you will be the last. However, you are the only one to hold my attention for a period longer than a few days.” Izanami continued to explain in a matter-of-fact tone that you associated with her natural speaking patterns but could barely recognize due to the words coming out of them continuing to deal mental damage to your psyche.

“I have no idea or hypothesis on why this is. Paradoxically, this increased my curiosity in you and-” Izanami continued to go on before you put your hands over her mouth, marking your first instance of physical contact with her.

A minute or so ago, such an action would have your mind up in arms at your idiocy.

Right now however, it was putting out fires that could best be likened to those that occur when a computer that is on its last legs finally gives out.

Though, in this event, it wasn’t due to the information you had been given, but due to who was giving it.

Izanami, someone you were convinced was more corpse than person and always went about her day with a sort of detached coldness, had such a… human reason.

Was it a semi-shallow one? Perhaps. 

But the reasoning was human in its entirety.

Someone she considered to be attractive caught her attention and, in some way, held it long enough for her curiosity to get the better of her.

Sure, it got the better of her and, rather than doing a rational thing like asking you on a date, she unilaterally decided that you were hers but that’s neither here nor there.

You let out a deep breath.

Right, your mind has finally caught up to itself.

Unfortunately, that let your mind point out that your hands were covering the Emperor’s mouth.

This whole situation was getting more and more complicated by the minute.

Slowly, as if you had just run afoul of a fearsome and temperamental predator, you removed your hands from Izanami’s face.

An awkward silence hung in the air for a long moment, your mind forcing you to think of the sound of crickets as you waited for her response to your foolish action.

The emperor turned her head to the side, giving you a look that you could not decipher.

“It occurs to me that we have not yet gone on a romantic outing.” Izanami observed, sending your mind into a tailspin once more.

Before you could stop yourself, your mouth had already spoken.

“THAT’S what you have to say!?”

“Yes. Please be ready before dinner.” Izanami declared before walking down the hall, leaving you dumbfounded.

Izanami was having a wonderful day.

She got to eat lunch with her beloved, talk with them for a bit, and even felt their touch for the first time!

Now, she was getting ready for a romantic outing.

Truly, it was as close to a perfect day as she could imagine.

Not even that Sn-

Izanami stopped that thought before she completed it.

Today was a good day, she was NOT going to sour her mood.

Not when she had already made plans.

Especially not when those plans were with someone she wanted to be hers forever.

She needed to put her best foot forward.

At least… that's what her research told her to do.

Who knew romance could be so incredibly difficult?

Still, it was worth it in her eyes.

After all, she found it… fun to be with you.

It didn’t hurt that she liked the sound of your voice either.

Especially when you asked her questions.

She thinks she wants to make that hers forever as well.

marriage headcanons with Noel because i want to make her happy

Blazblue/Unib banners got a little touch up from Rider recently. This will be the first post showing that off. I'll update the older posts with them eventually. Male reader assumed because that's easier for me.

This was a bit tough to do while keeping it strictly to marriage headcanons and not just devolve into general relationship HCs. Hopefully this meets your standards.

-Half the time Noel still can't seem to process the fact that you actually willingly, happily married her. No matter how much time passes hearing you call her your wife or someone else call you her husband makes her heart almost stop every time.

-Her abysmal self confidence leads her to feeling like she always needs to pay you back somehow for "putting up with her", thus her main form of affection will be acts of service. It's the only way she can think of showing her love for you without making her want to die of embarrassment.

-Unfortunately this will inevitably result in her wanting to cook for you. Since you don't exactly feel like dying, you have to very gently take cooking duties from her despite her protests. It's the one thing she feels confident in doing which you can only assume is some cruel joke the gods are playing on you.

-Eventually you come to the compromise of Noel ending up as assistant while you take the bulk of the cooking. It's a bit of an experiment to find out what she can do without ruining the food but soon you get a feel for it while keeping her happy.

-Her poetry writing in secrecy seems to only increase as you enter your married life. However despite you two being closer than ever that only makes the thought of you finding her poems even more embarrassing. Still need to work on that self confidence. Maybe one day down the line...

-Your honeymoon was a vacation to Kazamotsu, a very touristy kind of vacation. Taking in all the sights, trying all the famous food. It ended in a few extra pounds for the both of you that would take a bit to work off, but luckily Noel at least is in the military.

-She doesn't have any real siblings in the traditional sense, but Tsubaki, Makoto, and Ragna are basically your siblings-in-laws. While they're mostly pretty chill, Ragna and Tsubaki make it very clear in their own ways what will happen to you if you ever hurt Noel. Poor Makoto is stuck playing the mediator. It's a rather messy family dynamic all around that's going to require quite a bit of patience all around, especially when it comes to the tension between Ragna and Tsubaki.

Lambda with a reader that helped free her

You put the boxes Kokonoe asked for down in her lab. As you turned around you noticed she wasn’t in the room. Instead there was only Lambda who was doing something with an old box of cheap toys. 

She did know you were there but didn’t pay you any mind. You got closer to take a look at what she was doing. She was trying to open one of the dolls with a box cutter. The sight reminded you of it. Of what happened. It was long ago by now but the things you saw were still fresh in your mind.

“Can you please stop that.” you asked her through gritted teeth and with clenched fists.

“Why?” she asked back, not taking her eyes off her work.

“I just don’t like seeing it.” you made up an excuse.

“I don’t understand.”

“Just stop doing it.”

“It’s a doll, it feels no pain.”

Those words sent you over the edge.

“JUST STOP DOING THAT TO HER!” you yelled as you shoved the toy out from under the knife.

Lambda was looking up at you wide eyed.

“L-look I’m sorry it’s just…” you tried apologizing while still shaking after your sudden outburst. Then you noticed her break eye contact and look down.

“You’re hurt.” she stated simply.

Looking down, your hand was bleeding. You had cut yourself when you moved the doll.

“I’ll get a medkit.” 

You could only silently nod in response, clutching your hand as you started to register the pain.

You were sitting on a chair in awkward silence as Lambda took care of your wound. You wanted to apologize for your outburst but were struggling to find the words. It was then that Lambda broke the silence with two simple words.

“Thank you.”

“For what?” you couldn’t help but wonder.

“For taking me away from that place.”

“Oh. That’s nothing, I mean you don’t even remember it.”

“Yes but…” she started the sentence as she finished wrapping your wound.

“... without you I’d still be there.” she said as she topped the wrap off with a cute bow.

She looked up into your eyes and all you could do was respond with a soft smile. You used your freshly wrapped hand to pull her head towards you and give her a kiss on the forehead.

It was a normal evening in Kagetsuchi. The center was filled with many people as usual, with much activity. You noticed many couples were out, though, it was expected.

After all, it was Valentine's Day.

The day of celebrating love, where people can confess their feelings to their crushes, while couples treated themselves to appreciating each other.

You and Ragna had been dating for 2 years, and in doing so, you got to know the man beneath his infamous reputation as the "Grim Reaper".

You were thinking of this when his voice interrupted your thoughts.

"Hey. Where do you want to go today?"

"Hmm... How about we go to that restaurant over there?"

You pointed to a restaurant over to the right. The restaurant wasn't fancy but it looked nice enough. As you are walking over there, you hold Ragna's hand. Noticing this, he blushes slightly and turns his head so you can't see his face but you do anyway.

After dinner, you and Ragna go to the outskirts of the hierarchical cities. You two sit next on a tree, with the moon shining on both of you.

"You know, I never celebrated Valentine's Day that much. However..." Ragna looks at you with a small smile and gently pulls you closer towards him.

"With you by my side, maybe this day will be a little more happier for me..." Hearing this, you pull him into a kiss, with him being a bit surprised, before going deeper into the kiss.

Once finished, you lay on Ragna's shoulders, with you two looking at the moon.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Ragna."

"Happy Valentine's Day to you too, Reader."

General Ragna Headcanons

Ragna's probably. Not very experienced in romance at all.

In his defense, when had he ever had the time?

Needless to say, when you first asked to join him on his little journey, he blatantly said no. No matter how close you two were.

Eventually, he gives in. Perhaps it's the only way he can keep you safe and quite frankly, he didn't want to lose anyone else he cherished.

There's not much Ragna can really do, being a wanted criminal and all.

Though, know that during all this traveling, you two see some rather amazing sights.

It becomes rather normal that whenever there's a meteor shower, the two of you stay up and watch them for example.

Ragna himself is rather protective. As stated before, you're someone he doesn't want to lose.

He may be a bit harsh if he catches you doing something that otherwise could've ended poorly, but you know he's just worried.

Because of his strength, Ragna can easily carry you around.

He probably doesn't go to sleep until you do either. Don't think he needs much sleep anyways.

Despite his appearance, he can be rather soft at least. You're perhaps the only witness to such kindness.

The others tease him about this relationship, of course. Expect lots of jokes from Rachel, Taokaka, and maybe even a few others.

Lord help if you tease him as well. He has the strength to easily lift you up and show he's not one to be teased-

Go, Touch Some Grass-Kokonoe Mercury X Reader

I think this is the single longest thing I have written for this blog. I might also make a part two to this later but I doubt I will.

Anywho, sorry for the inactivity as of late. I just haven't really had the energy to write and because of that I've probably gotten very rusty so this is more than likely not up to my usual standards. My apologies for that.

With all of that aside, I hope you enjoy!

Kokonoe Mercury was absolutely furious.

“Where’s Tager?” Kokonoe growled out as she stomped down the halls, glaring holes through any unfortunate researcher who crossed her path.

“Miss Litchi sent him on a wild goose chase to ensure you didn’t use him to bust into your office.” you responded as you walked behind the irate woman.

Kokonoe attempted to further clench her hands into fists but, due to the bone crushing amount of force she had already used when she learned of what Litchi had done, it was an exercise in futility.

Kokonoe wheeled around the corner and nearly barreled over some poor janitor in the process.

“Sorry about that.” was all you had time to say to the janitor before you had to leave him and break into a jog to catch up with Kokonoe who was nearing her target.

Kokonoe practically bust the door down as she stormed into Litchi’s office.

“Ah! What brings you her-” Litchi began with a smile before she was interrupted by the furious pink haired woman before her.

“Save it! Why the hell can’t I get into my office! Or the labs! Or the storage closets!” Kokonoe snapped at Litchi.

“Oh my! I have no idea! What makes you think I would have any idea what would cause that?” Litchi responded with a voice dripping with false shock and a smirk on her face as she placed her head in her hand.

Kokonoe promptly reached into her lab coat and pulled out a piece of paper that she then slammed onto the table.

The piece of paper read “Go, Touch Some Grass!” with a drawing of Litchi’s winking face in chibi form.

You had to bite your tongue to keep yourself from saying “I don’t think Miss Kokonoe knows what grass is, seeing as she never leaves the lab.”

“Hmm… This is a very flattering drawing of me, don’t you think?” Litchi asked, causing Kokonoe to let out a scream of primal rage and launch herself at the woman.

Or, she tried to at least, she only got halfway before you grabbed her by the back of her collar.

“Let me go dammit! Let me at her! I’ll show her who needs to go touch grass!” Kokonoe hissed as she thrashed and writhed in mid air.

She was concerningly light, barely feeling like she weighed more than one of the boxes of microscopes that needed to be ordered every time an explosion occurred in the lab.

“Before you do that, can you tell me this, how long has it been since you ate a meal?” Litchi asked as Kokonoe continued to thrash around.

“I had-” Kokonoe began before being cut off.

“Meal replacement bars and shakes don’t count. Neither does candy.” Litchi clarified, making Kokonoe go still and quiet as she racked her brain for the answer to Litchi’s question.

“It was… the 15th!” Kokonoe declared, seeming proud of herself.

Litchi proceed to point at the calendar, showing that the current date was the 7th.

Kokonoe scowled in response to this and crossed her arms in irritation.

“What do you want out of me?” Kokonoe grumbled.

“I want you to go to your apartment, and grow something from one of these seeds.” Litchi declared while opening one of her drawers before tossing a pack of mixed seeds onto the table.

Kokonoe looked at the seeds for a solid minute before saying “I could do that in thirty minutes in the lab.”

“I know you could, but, until you learn how to take better care of yourself, you won’t be doing anything in the lab.” Litchi declared.

Kokonoe’s face began to turn red from rage before she took in a deep breath that she held in before letting out.

“How long will all of this take?” Kokonoe grumbled.

“In all honesty? I don’t expect you to be back for about two months.” Litchi declared, making Kokonoe gasp before yelling.

“ARE YOU CRAZY!? TWO MONTHS!?”

“You could prove me wrong, but as I can say with certainty, you and nature do not get along.” Litchi responded.

Kokonoe ground her teeth together, trying to concoct a way out of this predicament.

Unfortunately, Kokonoe was pushed onto the back foot by Litchi Faye Ling.

That means no amount of death stares or threats will move her opponent.

And people had the audacity to call Kokonoe stubborn.

Kokonoe went limp, accepting defeat.

“Fine. But I’m taking your best assistant as collateral!” Kokonoe declared, hoping that this would, somehow, force Litchi into re-considering her demands.

“We have a deal!” Litchi declared before turning her attention to you and spoke.

“You can put her down now. Be sure to pack up everything you need before leaving!”

You promptly lowered Kokonoe onto the ground and began to walk out the door before being stopped by Kokonoe.

“Hey! I said your best assistant! Not MY best assistant!” the pink hair woman exclaimed.

“That is my assistant. I let you borrow them for an extra set of eyes during an experiment while Tager was off on errands and you never gave them back.” Litchi explained with a smile that held a small amount of venom.

You and Kokonoe sat next to one another as the tram followed its course down to the residential area.

The two of you stuck out like sore thumbs with the pure white lab coats the two of you wore, the scowl on Kokonoe’s face, and your relatively calm expression.

You had long since gotten accustomed to the pink haired scientist and her… ornery moods.

In fact, due to your constant exposure to her, you had the nebulous honor of being one of the few who were unaffected by her temper when it boiled over.

Speaking of the devil herself, you turned your attention to the woman as she reached into the sleeve of her coat and pulled out a piece of her iconic silvervine candy.

“I’ve got a question for ya.” the woman grumbled.

“I will attempt to answer it to the best of my abilities.” you replied.

Kokonoe grunted before twisting her head to the side with the back of her hand, causing a series of cracks to enter your ears.

“If you’re one of Litchi’s assistants, why’d you stick around to work with me?” Kokonoe asked with a suspicious tone to her voice.

“Curiosity. You have quite the reputation as a slave driving monster around the water cooler.” was all you said in response.

This forced a wheezing cackle from Kokonoe’s chest.

“You aren’t the type to mince words are you? Remind me to take you off of Litchi’s hands when we get back!” Kokonoe exclaimed as she continued her cackling.

“I will keep that in mind.” you declared as you waited for Kokone to regain her composure.

Kokonoe continued to laugh for a few more moments before claming down.

“So, did the stories do me justice?” Kokonoe asked with a smirk.

You were quiet for a moment before responding.

“Well, can’t say I was expecting a response like that. I was asking for your opinion, not a report on an experiment.” Kokonoe declared as she put her head in the palm of her hand.

“To be fair Miss Kokonoe, I am still on the clock. Technically.” was all you said in defense to your position.

The rest of the ride in the tram was spent in a relative, semi-comfortable, silence.

By the time Kokonoe remembered where her apartment was, night had fallen.

Despite this, you continued to carry both your and Kokonoe’s suitcases as the two of you walked up the stairs and Kokonoe mumbled to herself about keys as she struggled to recall which one of the many on her key ring was the one for her apartment.

Soon, the two of you reached the apartment that belonged to Kokonoe, though it took a while for the door to be opened due to Kokonoe being forced to play trial and error with her myriad of keys.

As soon as the door was pushed open, a robotic voice greeted the two of you.

“Good. Evening. Miss. Kokonoe. Welcome. Home. You. Have. Been. Gone. For. Ninety. Days. Fifteen. Hours. And. Thirty. Minutes. Is. There. Anything. You. Require?” a small robot roughly the height and width of a garbage can with a duster in one hand and a vacuum in the other asked as it stood at attention in the entryway.

“No. Don’t worry about the guest either. They're with me.”

The robot promptly did a small bow before turning in place and walking off.

You were then led into the living room which, in all honesty, looked as if it was ready to be shown off and sold to the next potential buyer by a real estate agent.

In other words, it looked clean, clinical, and completely uninhabited.

“Welcome to my home away from home.” Kokonoe declared as she grabbed her suitcase from you, walked down the hall, and into a room, before slamming the door behind her and leaving you standing alone.

You clicked your tongue before muttering to yourself.

“This design of this place is very… human.”

Kokonoe did not have any clocks in her apartment.

Mostly because if she was at her apartment, that meant one of two things.

The lab had exploded and was in the process of being fixed. She was practically on her deathbed from sickness.

As such, she fully expected to not wake up until her body declared she needed to.

To be fair, that expectation was filled, just not in the way she thought it would be when the smell of freshly cooked food entered her nose and roused her from her sleep.

“Ugh… What the hell is that smell?” Kokonoe grumbled as she rolled over and towards the window to gauge the time based off of the sun.

Based on the light entering her room, it was around ten-ish.

Kokonoe let out a sigh as she threw the covers off of her and trudged towards her door, kicking her discarded lab coat, and other articles of clothing to the side in the process.

Kokonoe yawned as she reached for the door’s handle before pulling it open.

This revealed you, your hand raised to knock on the door.

“Ah. I’ve made lu-” you began to say before cutting yourself off as you went red in the face.

You proceeded to grab the handle opposite from the one Kokonoe was holding and slammed the door shut, leaving the pink haired scientist deeply confused.

It took a few seconds for the still groggy and half asleep Kokonoe to remember that, before she went to sleep, she removed all of her clothes.

“Oh right. Most people care that other people wear clothes.” Kokonoe said to herself aloud before scratching the side of her head and turning on her heel to find something to cover herself with.

Kokonoe walked into the kitchen, wearing a t-shirt, a pair of sweatpants, and a pair of slippers with a fresh lab coat over it all alongside the expression of a person who was completely unbothered by the previous event.

That expression did not stay long as she noticed something had gone missing from the kitchen.

“Where the hell is my fridge?” Kokonoe asked, trying her best and failing spectacularly to keep her voice even.

You sat at the table, your head in your hands over a bowl of soup.

“Its contents were the wrong amount of alive.” was all you said in response, a tint of red still on your face as you tried to force the memory of Kokonoe minus her clothes out of your mind.

“What the fuck does that mean?” Kokonoe demanded before the conversation was interrupted by screams.

“HOLY SHIT! LARRY!!! GET THE FLAMETHROWER!!!”

“WHY DOES IT HAVE EYES!!!!”

“It means that.” you muttered before shuddering, composing yourself, and then gesturing to the pot on the stove.

“I have made soup.” you declared.

“Is it any good?” Kokonoe asked, crossing her arms.

“I give you no guarantees.” was your response.

“Meh, good enough for me.” the pink haired scientist declared with a shrug of her shoulders.

Lunch passed in silence save for the sounds of battle outside.

However, lunch did not last long and soon the two of you were getting down to brass tacks.

“Right, we need to go to the store, don’t we?” Kokonoe asked as she put her dishes in the sink.

“Correct. We require a replacement fridge, food, and material for you to grow a plant. I will cover a quarter of the cost for the fridge.” You responded as you put your own dishes into their place.

“A quarter? Aren’t you the one who threw it out?” Kokonoe asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I was not the one who let that godless creature be born. Also, I live on an assistant's salary.” Was your retort and your defense to Kokonoe’s reasoning.

“Fine. Just know I’m not happy about this.” the half beastkin woman declared.

“Duly noted.” was your response.

After the plan had been decided, the two of you set out and onto the town.

Much like most things involving Kokonoe V.S. The Outside World, as you were coming to find, it became an all day debacle.

Especially with what happened with Kokonoe and that poor appliance salesman.

He made the very reasonable assumption that, due to the two of you coming in at the same time and looking at the fridges on display together, you and Kokonoe were a couple.

You thought Kokonoe was going to tear his head clean off when the words left his mouth. Thankfully, she only skinned him alive with her words and not any of the knives from the kitchen sets that were nearby.

Still, the day remained profitable despite the hiccup, and by the time night fell, the new fridge was installed and stocked with food.

Soon after that, the two of you fell into a rhythm.

Kokonoe would obsess over the plant, you would double check her measurements to ensure everything was going smoothly, then you would begin the most torturous task you had even inflicted upon yourself.

Teaching Kokonoe Mercury how to take care of herself.

First, you started with the basics in Laundry which was easy enough since most of her clothes could be sorted into whites and reds.

Of course, that came with her grumbling about how she could build a robot or get Taeger to do this for the entire time, still, it was progress.

But, then came cooking.

Foolishly, you thought that she would do well in cooking since it was as much science as it was art.

This was a very, very idiotic thought to have.

In five minutes she managed to turn a bag of rice into ash.

It took her ten to completely immolate a fish down to its bones.

After this disaster, you decided to put off trying to teach her how to cook until you had a fire extinguisher on hand.

Still, cooking related mishaps aside, everything was going well in forcing Kokonoe to learn that, no matter how hard she wished or how many drugs she put into her silvervine candy, she still had a body of flesh and blood.

She was, of course, filled with enough rage to burn the world to ash due to this, but that was something you expected when you were co-opted into this debacle.

What you didn’t expect however, was your side of the emotional coin.

Specifically, your growing admiration and care for her.

This isn’t to say you didn’t admire her before this, but more so to say that before this your admiration for her was only professional.

Now though, you were admiring her as a person.

You always knew she was a stubborn person, it was par for the course in the field of science.

Now though, you saw that her stubbornness was something she applied in all facets of her life.

And as you continued to spend time with her, you also saw that her stubbornness and her care were one in the same.

Still, you knew it was better to keep all of that to yourself.

She was your boss and you were her assistant.

It would be better and far simpler for both you and her to keep it that way.

The fact she stole you to be her assistant was also helping out.

It was also causing her an immense amount of headache as, against her better judgement, Kokonoe was getting ever so slightly attached to you.

She knew she shouldn’t based on past data.

Everyone she had ever made a bond with had left her, died, or worse.

It was a quantifiable metric.

And yet, here Kokonoe was, thinking of a way to try and even the score.

As loath as she was to admit it, you had taught her things.

To her, knowledge in all its forms was something invaluable.

Sure, she never felt the need to repay someone for teaching her something before but that's unimportant.

What was important now, was finding something worth what you taught her.

Maybe she could invite you to be her research partner?

No, no, no, she already had you as her assistant, that was almost the same thing wasn’t it?

She couldn’t up your salary either since the budget for the year had already been decided.

“Wait, that’s it!” Kokonoe exclaimed, a mad grin making itself known on her face.

Sure, she couldn’t raise your salary, but she could give you a way to take some strain off your budget.

She could just invite you to live with her.

Yes, that would be perfect! It would allow for the symbiotic relationship the two of you had to continue, and it would let Kokonoe continue to operate at maximum efficiency.

Why hadn’t she thought of this sooner?

It was a foolproof plan that benefitted both you and her!

Truly, the genius of Kokonoe Mercury is unparalleled.

If only she was this smart when it came to her emotions and other people.

Honestly I could probably go on about the entire Remix Heart team but that's not the request and I have yet to sit down and finish reading Remix Heart past chapter 1.

-The slow burn pre-relationship is going to drive someone insane. Whether it's any combination of you three or any spectators to it. Probably all of the above.

-Makoto was the first to develop feelings between her and Noel, the latter being held back somewhat by her extremely low self confidence. She tries to hold these feelings back because as far as she's concerned there's no way you should realistically fall for her next to someone much more attractive and self-assured like Makoto.

-Makoto soon starts dating you, only amplifying these feelings for Noel. The squirrel girl doesn't take long to notice this and turns on supportive friend mode.

-What initially starts as a joke soon begins to escalate. One thing leads to another, and before any of you can realize just what happened, you're all dating each other.

-Initially it seems more like a situation where you're just dating both of them at the start. You go on dates with either Makoto or Noel, but not both. Noel sorta freezes up and takes a backseat in the relationship because she has no idea what the hell she's doing. Please be patient and understanding with her.

-After around 2-3 months, the three of you start getting used to this relationship and throuple dates become much more often and comfortable. It's a cycle of one of you choosing the dates to go on.

-Makoto gravitates towards more physically active or generally extroverted type dates. Going to see a game, take you two to a new restaurant she'd caught ear of, etc. Noel prefers the quieter, more lowkey dates. Usually at home or a cafe with a relaxing atmosphere.

-The two are very much an opposites attract deal. They both definitely find each other attractive, even if it took Noel specifically a bit longer to actually grapple with that fact, and their strong friendship as a basis keeps them from stepping on each others' toes when it came to sharing you as well. You act as the middle of the relationship, keeping the other two grounded and being a mediator on the rare times it's necessary.

-There's no doubt it can be a bit draining sometimes, but for these two, it is most definitely worth it.

We know characters like Rachel and Kokonoe care a lot underneath it all; but also that they're pretty standoffish, and probably wouldn't rush into a relationship. If anything, there's a real risk these two would try to keep their feelings to themselves in hopes it'll go away, rather than ever confess. With that in mind, do you have any headcanons for how these characters behave while crushing on, pining, or otherwise struggling with their romantic feelings before the actual relationship???

-Kokonoe would definitely keep her feelings to herself. Only something huge could push her over the boundary into actually confessing. She does not like the idea of being in love. If she understood it well enough she would remove the capacity for it from her brain. But there is always that tiny spark of hope in the back of her mind convincing her not to.

-She would grow more obsessed with you over time. Spying on you through the cameras she hacked and even secret ones she placed in your room. She would constantly reread any information or papers she could find about you. She’d send Tager and Lambda on missions with you to “gather data” only for her to discard everything not related to you. 

-She would never confess. At least not in any conventional way. She’d instead pressure you into spending time with her using her position or blackmail if necessary. From there the duty of actually making the relationship progress past what most likely resembles a friends with benefits arrangement falls on you. This means you need to interpret at what times she’s serious about her tsundere act and when you can squeeze in some genuine affection.

-The most help you’ll get through this process is from Tager. He owes Kokonoe his life but still understands she has a myriad of her own problems. He wants to help but understands only someone in your position can do that. He functions as a translator in the early stages of the relationship and a safe haven for when she gets angry at you in the later stages. He is not beyond fighting her to protect you when he feels she is unreasonably attacking you. You are also always welcome to stay at his place whenever she kicks you out. He'd get mad at someone for waking him in the middle of the night but when he sees you he knows everything. He’ll offer you something to drink or eat and a place to rest until Kokonoe gets over whatever she was mad about.

-So with Rachel it’s a far more difficult question to answer due to how much her behaviour could change depending on when this is. In the beginning Rachel wouldn’t even notice you being too busy trying to undo the looping nature of the world.

-Slowly as she sees everything constantly repeat itself she grows ever more bored. Almost feeling jealous of the blissful ignorance others find themselves in. There was an exception to that rule. You. For whatever reason she found comfort in you always being the same.

-She would spend several loops observing you from a distance and slowly get closer from there. Maybe becoming a regular at where you work. Then slowly getting closer. Learning more about you. Trial and erroring her way into a perfect method for quickly getting through the pre-relationship stages.

-Rachel would never even attempt to explain the truth of the world to you. It’s not that it’d be hard; she could do it without a hitch. But wasting an entire loop watching you filled with dread is no good. Even worse if you tried to get involved. She’d rather keep you out of it until time finally continues. When it does she has some plans of her own.

Good Cop, Bad Cop | Captain Hazama and his short, fiery S/O

-When Hazama is first sighted with you, the NOL Intel Department explodes into a gossip hub within seconds. They don’t mean to pry, but the Captain has always seemed so reserved, so mild-mannered, especially now when compared to his short-fused firecracker of an S/O; they can’t help it, they’re Intel, they’re curious as to how you two got together. Haz laughs off all prying questions, though, and all it takes from you is a piercing glare to shut his subordinates up.

-Haz is a tall man, and a shit-stirrer; it’s only natural that he would enjoy poking fun at you about your height. Of course it’s never serious, just a couple of snarky jabs that he knows you can take - you might get a little annoyed and smack him sometimes, but he watches your limits carefully to make sure he never pushes you overboard despite your quick temper. He still thinks your reactions are cute, and sometimes he’ll ruffle your hair to get a rise out of you.

-He loves to hug you and put his face in your hair, kind of like how snakes like to stick their heads in furry rugs, and your height difference means he’s always at the perfect height to do that.

-He might still have difficulty understanding emotions, but when he’s with you he swears it almost feels like he doesn’t - he loves how openly expressive you are.

-Because of your quick temper, Hazama often doesn’t have to come to your defense on the verbal side of things; when you’re slighted, you’re the first to fight back, slinging curses and shouting, while Haz sits back and lets the situation play out, occasionally calming you down if you need it. But if it escalates to the point where you’re in any danger at all, Hazama will drop his NOL Captain facade in a flash, and very thoroughly introduces them to the sting of Ouroboros.

Dating Hyde Kido !

* Under Night In-Birth is a very underrated series. With its inclusion in Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle, it has gained some popularity. The story is beautiful, the characters are all unique and amazing in their own way. I do recommend it! Plus all the guys are pretty cute ;;;))). I’m also going to try and keep this spoiler free! Everything placed in italics and is bold (character dialogue excluded) are small spoilers, please remember that!

  * Before his incident, You and Hyde would always study together after class. Being the smarter one out of the two, the blonde would always run to you for help. You wondered how and why he was in the same class as you, but it was nice having someone hot as fuck cute as shit funny like him around.

* He introduced you to Yuzuriha. She’s very.. affectionate, almost like an obsessed aunt. “It’s you! Hyde as been telling me all about you, (Y/N)! He can’t stop talking about how-” Hyde immediately cuts her off with a loud grunt. Yuzuhira constantly embarrasses him, almost like Yuzu is his mom and she constantly bombards you with baby pictures. Secretly, she wishes for his baby album so she can see it and show you.

* He’s basically a lovable idiot. Even if Hyde does something dumb, you can’t help but smile. He sometimes does these things on purpose in the hope of you looking his way and smiling.

* After his incident, he becomes serious and very overprotective. He tries to be since the whole In-Birth situation is serious by itself, but he can’t really help it. Being goofy is his personality, and he can’t really change that. Plus, Hyde notices how happy you get when he’s the way he is.

* Hyde doesn’t want you to get hurt, so he insists on you staying at his home; however, he brought you along once. It was the time he encountered Hilda. The way she looked and talked made you nervous. She had an evil aura that surrounded her. You wanted to glare but all you could do was hide behind Hyde and Linne. She was intimidating, sinister.

* Everything was just too much to process for you. Think about it though; how does Hyde feel about this? I mean, being taken away from his normal life to fight weird creatures and stop some random bad guy organization? Trust me, he’s stressed as fuck. You’re the only thing stopping him from breaking down and ending everything. He’s only in his second year of high school, he’s still a baby. You’re always there for him, and he loves how caring and supportive you are to him.

* “(Y/N).. You being around, it makes me feel sane, y’know? Every time I have to go out and fight these things, I always think about you and it makes me feel stronger. It’s all stressful really, but I can’t let Linne do any of this alone. I’m just like that, always helping someone. I didn’t know that it would turn out like this.”

* He’s emotional during these times. You don’t mind though, you love it when he expresses his emotions. After your little talks, he wakes up the next day focused and ready. You motivate him to do his best, and to become stronger each day. He cries, and even though it breaks your heart, you’re still proud of him for telling you all of this instead of hiding it.

* Keep in mind that he is in his second year of high school, so he is still very childish and can be very dramatic sometimes. He’s still kind of going through changes, and with those changes and his job of fighting little demon shits, he gets moody and sometimes lashes out in anger. He never asked to leave his friends and old life, however he does know that it is his fault for agreeing to do all of this. He placed this stress upon himself, and he regrets putting even more on him by yelling at his s/o. He has the thought of you leaving him cross his mind on various occasions. In all, he’s edgy, scared, and just needs a hug and a kiss. You, being the loving girlfriend, immediately shower him in all of the love he needs.

* Waldstein and Linne always confronts him on such actions, making him blush and attempt to change the subject. You laugh. You don’t mind if they see you shower your lover in kisses, however it seems like Hyde does. He’s not embarrassed of you, he’s just embarrassed because of the things you do. You’re goofy, so locking lips in front of the giant man and the small girl is nothing surprising. However, the first time..

* You all were sitting in the living room. Waldstein and Linne were both distracted by something, so you took the opportunity to steal a kiss from Hyde. That was when the duo turned and saw you two. Linne tried not to show it, but she couldn’t help but turn the other way and blush at the sight. Waldstein only chuckled.

* “T-That doesn’t seem appropriate, may you please do that in another location?” Linne begged. “Ahaha! Linne, this is the magic of love! You see, one simple action and the boy is weak in the knees! * His relationship with Seth is rather odd. Hyde explains that he never realized that he had a rivalry with him, which is concerning since everyone and their mother knows why Seth would have a problem with Hyde. He’s very dense, so obviously Hyde would never see it at first, but it’s very clear why they don’t share positive feelings towards each other.

* Once Yuzuriha and Hyde meet again, his change in emotions shows a lot. He’s a lot more positive, mainly because he got that situation off of his chest. 

* In all, Hyde is an edgy teenager with r a g i n g hormones who is stressed and basically needs reassurance. Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.
