i noticed no one submitted a story for blastiose, so i figured id add my own in! i ended up getting one in a trade in sword and shield, and it was clearly a well loved one. met in the hoenn region, presumably a masuda method hunt in oras, and named Trixie. It even had a few ribbons, the beginner tough contest one and the champion ribbon. Someone later told me it was hacked in, but nothing about it seemed particularly hacked? The moves were all legit, it didnt have good stats at all, level 46 seems legit, and while it certainly could have been they had no way of knowing any more than i did lol, so im choosing to believe its completely real xoxo its very precious to me and one of my favorite pokemon ever at this point.

also bc i havent seen anyone ask yet, im assuming rom hacks and fangames(that dont raise the shiny rates past gen 6 rates or have uniquie shinys(no reborn me getting a shiny dex shenanagins)) count? Bc ive gotten some full odds shinys i love dearly from them (and can actually provide images of for the gallery bc my siblings have lost the sword game cart and i still need to find it)

To answer your question, absolutely! Fan-game and rom-hack shinies are perfectly valid for this, as long as they match. I wouldn't count any fan-regional variants or forms, as they would technically be separate from base.

Fma/Pokemon crossover

I don't know why but I'm having Fma/pokemon brainrot so heres what pokemon i think Ed and Al would have if there was an fma pokemon crossover, including my oc from someone whos only played sun and moon.

I think Ed and Al would've gotten a pokemon early cuz they wouldn't stop bugging their mom for one.

Name: Edward Elric Status: Protagonist Role: Checks and Counter Main Pokemon: Litten - Torracat - Incinaroar Move Sets: [Normal] Leer - [Fighting] Double Kick - [Fighting] Revenge - [Fighting] Focus Blast 2nd Main Pokemon: Aron - Lairon - Aggron Move Sets: [Normal] Stomp - [Fighting] Dynamic Punch - [Rock] Ancient Power - [Dark] Payback

Explanation: For his first pokemon I think Ed would go for Incinaroar because he'd see the red and the attitude and find it badass only to receive Litten, because theres no way his mom was just gonna give him a fully grown Incinaroar. After the incident i think he'd quickly grow attached to his Litten since its basically one of the last things of his mom gave him.

For the second pokemon, i feel like he'd only have one pokemon because he'd believe that "you don't need a begillion pokemon to win a fight" if it wasn't for Roy and Al basically begging him to get another one, specifically one that fit his status as the fullmetal alchemist so he'd begrudgingly get Aron just to shut them up. Only to then really like his evolutions and movesets, however Incinaroar is still his #1.

I chose his role as Checks and Counter based off of his personality and fighting style, he's the type run head first into a fight with impossible odds if theres even a slight chance of winning, but he's not dumb just makes dumb decisions which he eventually learns from. Which is why his pokemons movesets are mostly focused on close encounters, as seen in the first fight with scar he ran in head first and got his ass handed to him, the later learned from his mistakes and instead of just fighting scar he used him as bait to bait out the other homunculi. So i think he'd a hundred percent throw himself into a tournament and lose badly only to come back the next day with a fully fleged plan and several hours of learning about different types of pokemon and how to battle against them competitively.

Explanation: I think personally that Al would have a full deck of Pokemon all evolved and or maxed out like crazy, these are just the 2 i think that would be his mains.

I feel like Al's the type to chose cute starter pokemon and never get rid of them/max them all out so they do crazy damage, which is why i chose Bulbasaur as his 1st main abd Squirtle as his second. Because not only are they cute (and its been established that Al likes cute things) but they can do some heavy damage if played right, also because i feel like it's hilarious that theres this huge hulking fit of armor and this small adorable pokemon that could absolutely destroy it's opponents.

And then years later when Al gets his body back his just this completely normal looking dude with this fully evolved/maxed out Mega Venusaur.

Same as Ed I chose him to be both wall and setup sweeper based off his personality and fighting style, I've noticed that Al tends to hang back using his alchemy more for support and heavy hits rather then going in for close combat. Thats not to say he can't just that he's more prone to using terrain attacks both to help/protect Ed and throw off his opponents for Ed to land cleaner hits, that's why i choose his pokemon movesets to be more Terrain based rather then close combat.

Name: Lyre Status: Protagonist - Rival Role: Pivot Main Pokemon: Riolu - Lucario - Mega Lucario Move Sets: [Normal] Swords Dance - [Fight] Counter - [Poison] Poison Jab - [Psychic] Calm Mind 2nd Main Pokemon: Ditto Move Set: [Normal] Transform

Explanation: Without spoiling to much, i figured that Riolu/Lucario would be perfect for Lyre not just because they have a similar passion for justified justice but also due to Lyre being mute she'd find having Lucario to be much easier then having to use sign language during intense fights. (I could see Lucario being sort of revered in Ishval thanks to its god-like orgin, like mainly Ishvallan priest have a Lucario pokemon due it religious origins which makes it ironic since Lyre is basically an atheist due to her background with being Ishvallan and a state alchemist.)

Her personality and fighting style is purely methodical and offensive which is why i chose Pivot, she uses swords for the most part since its the best way for her to catch opponents that use only alchemy off guard using her knowledge on different kinds of alchemy and the best sword styles against them. She's the type of person to use the terrain to her advantage staying light on her feet and keeping her opponent close yet at a distance, which why most of the movesets for lucario is more long lasting and on the defensive then fast a heavy like Eds or terrain heavy like Al's.

Thats not to say that she doesn't have her moments when she fails due to her own hubris, like Lucario, Lyre is very much a "The ends justify the means" person so she'll definitely be more focused on landing more strategic hits that'll effect the rest the fight rather then defense or protection, using her mind before and during a fight rather then just attacking. She might get herself hurt in the long run trying to make the fight easier to win for her other teammates or she'll be too confident im her abilities to wound the other party with knowledge that when she's thrown off by something she didn't expect from her opponent it takes awhile for her to get back on her feet.

I chose Ditto as her second since she's basically the copycat state alchemist, she uses her opponents own moves against them in an effort to not only throw them off but also learn how to defeat then better. And since copying is Dittos whole thing i thought it only made sense for her second main to Ditto.

You know, the more I think about it-

Mega Charizard X is kind of stupid. If you remember Mega Blastiose and Mega Venusaur: They were basically the starters but souped up in both stats and playstyle. This is the same for Mega Charizard Y- Souped up Charizard that hits even harder.

X though? Cometely changes color and becomes a mixed attacker. It's clearly the second design made too because it just looks like a shiny Charizard with blue fire.

I prefer X for being a Fire/Dragon mixed attacker but it just sticks out like a sore thumb in hindsight.

["Battle Begin!" The Rotom Drone announces as the video starts, "Barbaracle go!" Siebold shouts throwing out a Pokeball, "Livewire you're up!" Jay calls throwing out a Pokeball of her own, "Use Stone Edge!" Siebold commands, "Get out of there with Gyro Ball!" Jay orders, Barbaracle hits the battlefield making huge blue stalagmites pop out of the ground while Livewire curls up into a ball and begins evading the attack, after awhile of dodging Barbaracle runs out of energy and stops using Stone Edge, "Flash Cannon now!" Jay orders causing Livewire to fire out a huge silver beam towards Barbaracle, "Dodge it!" Siebold shouts causing Barbaracle to jump out of the way of the attack, "Now use Cross Chop!" Barbaracle, now behind Livewire, hits Livewire directly on its head dealing a lot of damage, "Livewire return!" Jay says holding out a Pokeball and retracting Livewire into it, "You did good buddy, you'll get your chance later"

"Vocal you're in!" Jay shouts, "Use Acrobatics!" "X-Scissor!" Siebold commands, Vocal runs into towards Barbaracle kicking him repeatedly yet Barbaracle shrugs off the hits and slashes at Vocal, however they narrowly dodge the attack by flying up. "Revelation Dance!" Jay orders, "Stone Edge!" Siebold shouts, Barbaracle sends a huge Blue Stalagmite up towards Vocal yet Vocal uses Revelation Dance sending out a huge lightning bolt that shatters the Stalagmite and knocks out Barbaracle, "Not bad Kid" Siebold says, "Barbaracle return, Blastiose go!" "Vocal use Revelation Dance!" Jay shouts, "Blastiose use Skull Bash!" Siebold retaliates, Vocal sends a huge lightning bolt towards Blastiose, Blastiose doesn't even try to dodge the attack, instead Blastiose takes it head on yet he emerges completely fine, "Release now!" Siebold says causing Blastiose to charge towards Vocal extremely quickly, throwing Vocal far back knocking them out, "Great Job buddy" Jay says returning Vocal to their pokeball, "Lily, how about we make this a fair fight" Jay adds looking at Lily's pokeball before throwing it out.

"Ah I see you have a Blastiose of your own" Siebold says, "You certainly do have good taste" "Thank you" Jay replies, "Is that a Mega Stone on your Blastiose's head?" "Yes it is, and is that a mega stone on your Blastiose's cannon?" Siebold asks, "Yep, how about we make this more interesting?" Jay asks, "Revealing her Keystone" "I accept" Siebold says grabbing his own Keystone, "Mega Evolve!" Both trainers shout causing both Blastiose to become concealed in light before emerging in their new forms, "Lily use Aqua Jet!" Jay commands, "Blastiose use Power Up Punch!" Siebold orders, both Blastiose run towards the other repeatedly hitting each other, Lily using her fists that were covered in water while Siebold's Blastiose used the fighting energy given by Power Up Punch, "Use Dragon Pulse!" Both trainers ordered causing both Blastiose to break up the Melee back and forth and jump back firing purple beams out of all of their cannons, however both Blastiose cancelled out the others attack, "Rapid Spin!" Jay commands, "Skull Bash!" Siebold shouts Lily begins spinning around and charges towards the opposing Blastiose, meanwhile Siebold's Blastiose tucks his head into his shell and braces for impact, thanks to the defence boost from Skull Bash Lily's attack did next to nothing to her opponent, "Jump back and try Dragon Pulse!" Jay orders yet this also does nothing to the other Blastiose, "This'll finish you off!" Siebold shouts, "Charge!" Siebold's Blastiose charges towards Lily just as he did to Vocal earlier, "Use Hydro Pump, go up!" Jay shouts, Lily then flies up at the last second making Siebold's Blastiose crash into the wall, damaging himself, "Now finish him off, Slam down!" Lily crashes down into Siebold's Blastiose knocking him out but also damaging Lily in the process, "Blastiose return!" Siebold orders, "Gyarados go and use Ice Fang!" Gyarados charges towards Lily wrapping around her before biting down on her head, "Lily break free!" Jay orders but it's no use after awhile of biting Lily returns to her regular form, knocked out, and Gyarados lets her go, "Lily return!" Jay shouts, "Alright Livewire it's me and you now, come on we've got this"

Also this makes sense to me why in gen1 Blastoise and Dragonite look so far removed from their previous evolutions.

Blastiose completely drops it's thousand year tails turtle concept and Dragonite just drops the slender mystic of their previous forms completely and it always confused me as a kid. This makes a bit more sense to me now.

I just learned yesterday that Pikachu, my favorite Pokemon, was originally designed not by Ken Sugimori (he only finalized the design), but by a female graphic designer named Atsuko Nishida. 

Also after googling her, I found out that she’s also designed Sylveon–another favorite PKMN of mine. She’s also illustrated some very pretty Pokemon cards!!

Ooh great questions! Little heads up, I don’t have the best expertise with Pokémon, but I hope I answered these to your liking!

For the Pokémon:

Lily-Incineroar: The idea of her having a large fiery wrestler cat as her companion sounds like too much fun to her. Also she’s totally teaching them how to Stone Cold Stunner their opponents lol.

Lily’s a fire type trainer since it seems to match her head first, strike fast mentality.

Maya-Blastiose: She’s definitely one to go for an original, and also believes in sticking with who you started with. She probably got sentimental over the idea that they evolved all this way together. Also it’s good for her to have a tough companion by her side!

She’s gonna be a water type trainer for sure. Someone’s gotta balance out Lily somehow hehe.

Ossie-Lucario: A fighting Pokémon that can sense aura seems like it hits home for Ossie. He’d appreciate a companion that would keep them both out of potentially dangerous situations, especially if something seems too good to be true.

Ossie would totally be a Steel Type Trainer. Very fitting for the team mechanic.

Ash-Corviknight: “bro that is the most metal bird I’ve ever seen!!!” -Ash

She’s either going to be a flying type trainer or a poison type trainer. She thinks birds are neat and also would enjoy the idea of being able to fly around with them.

Kalos Elite 4 mega-evolved Pokemon they should've had (WIP)

Hey. It's me. Just here doing a what if scenario again. These are the Ace Pokémon that the elite 4 should have that can mega evolve. These are Pokémon that I think should've had mega evolutions that would be a good pair for the elite 4.

Siebold: Mega Clauncher

When it mega-evolves, it'll become a water and ice type. I imagined it to look like this which was made by Fistipuffs on Devianart. It gains its mega launcher ability when it mega evolves, similar to Mega Blastiose.

Drasna: Mega Goodra

When it mega evolves, it'll become a dragon and poison type. I'd imagine it to have wings on its back like this which was drawn by Spice5400 on Devianart. I'd also imagine that it can shoot out goo that is strong enough to immobilize opponents and have spikes on its tail which it swings to attack foes.

I think Wartortle is the best looking but I don't like it as a "middle evolution". Wartortle was originally meant to have a different evolution, and Blastiose used to be an evolution of a different pokemon.
