“It was our first date. We were going to a dance, and I was all dressed up in a long, pink gown. He parked right in the middle of a mud puddle, got out of the car, and started walking toward the building. He didn't even notice that I was still in the car, and was talking to me as if I were right behind him. I knew he was still talking to me because the back of his head was bobbing up and down. So I just sat there in the car and waited. After a while, he must've figured out something was wrong, because he turned around. When he saw me still in the car, he gestured as if to say, "Git yourself on down here, girl!" I just sat there and blinked a couple of times. He cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled, "What are you doing? C'mon!" So I smiled. He walked to the side of the car, leaned over the puddle, right up to my window, and shouted, "Are you okay? Let's go!" So I locked the door. Okay, maybe I overdid it a little, but he ended up opening the door for me. Of course, it also ended up being our last date. But that's alright. I didn't make him open the door for me because I'm stuck up and think I'm extra special and deserve to have doors opened for me. It was because I have a very serious and important job, too. It's my job, as a woman, to inspire men to be noble, brave, honorable, and to protect and defend the loveliness and beauty of every woman.”
