I'm still so shocked that the Copeland stream has finally been found. I've been following that shit for awhile, been watching videos trying to spread awareness of it... and then Jorge comes along with a video about it and suddenly someone comes forward with it, having saved it. Absolutely wild stuff.
Huge day for Minecraft history and lost media alike.

"Uncle Walt," an unauthorized cartoon short made by an animation student in 1964, featured Disney characters in sleezy and offensive situations. Supposedly the footage has been found, but the holders won't release it to the public. They didn't give any reason, but stated that it was not related to legal issues or money.
Warning: mildly NSFW images below.
Some people feel this was all a sham; that the person claiming to have the video never really did find it, and just strung everybody along for attention. Obnoxious though that might be, it's better than some other possibilities.
If the people who found the short are telling the truth, it begs the question of what's so bad about it that someone so dedicated to finding this short would decide to suddenly put the lid on it when they finally found it. It can't be for the racism; Walt Disney's racist history and Nazi connections are common knowledge. Is there something in this short that's worse than all that? If so, I don't think I want to try speculating on what that could be.
That said, there are more innocent possibilities. Maybe the short contains something politically or religiously inflammatory, and now just isn't the best time. Or maybe it just contains personal information of some kind; perhaps the student who made included references to people he knew in real life, and this is just to protect their privacy.
Here's the Lost Media Wiki's article on the topic

If you enjoy unsolved mysteries, but your mental health can't take any more "true crime," then "lost media" is a great alternative--especially if you're already interested in movies, music, nostalgia, or behind-the-scenes shenanigans.
Blameitonjorge is one of my favorite Lost Media channels on YouTube. Jorge's voice and narration style are easy on the ears, and his research is very thorough. Occasionally he'll do a serious unsolved crime case; but most of his videos are about things like lost commercials or banned TV show episodes--victimless mysteries, I like to call them.

my favorite internet phenomenon is the Jorge Effect where BlameitonJorge makes a video about a piece of lost media and within 24-48 hrs his video becomes outdated bc it's been found.

I'm going to start making a list of people who I know are still taking sponsorship money from BetterHelp because at this point I can't believe that people are ignorant about them.
It's a very well known scam who actually has a negative effect on the people who are using it because they're at their most vulnerable. If I see a modern video with this sponsor I'm going to assume that the people who's taking the sponsor knows but doesn't care how much it harms the people who uses it.
This is mostly a list to remind myself not to watch these Youtubers again if I come across a video that seems interesting by them. I'm sure others would appreciate the heads-up. I'm sure I'll be adding to this list and I'm sure that I'll be adding other infamously harmful sponsorships when I see them.

Kendall Rae (Allegedly. I haven't seen it myself and I'm not about to go through her entire catalogue of videos to see it but I don't really have a reason to not believe it.)
Anthony from Smosh. (Again this is alleged. I haven't seen it, but I've heard that he took their money.)

i love youtube deep dives on shit like ARGs and internet rabbit holes but BY FAR my favorite is when someone discovers a random artist's side project from the mid 2000s and frames it as something nefarious or potentially dangerous when it's very clearly just someone making weird shit for fun lol
#blameitonjorge's video on LHOHQ is a prime example of this#or yvette's bridal#i wish like hell i was weird enough to scare people with my art lmao
