It’s just like. We have Robby, the kid who grew up with no one. Whose only friends were two adult men who used him and turned violent the second he pushed back. Who slept on the couch while his addict mother brought home strings of random, strange men over and over again. Whose dad was never there at all. Who got drunk for the first time in his life and was sexually assaulted. And then we have Tory, the girl who watched her dad hurt her mom. Who bragged about needing to fend off creepy men with a spiked bracelet. Whose landlord tried to extort her for sex at 16 years old. Who has been repeatedly sexualized throughout the show. These are the kids who become karate influencers—not because of their skills, not because of any victories or trophies, but because they kissed on live television and people want to objectify them. Because they’re good looking kids and sex sells. That’s their happy ending. Trapped forever in the cycles of violence and abuse that have consumed their entire childhoods. What the fuck.

one thing i love is when u guys do fanart of like. not the companions (tho i love that, too, of course) but of some of the more descriptive scenes i've written it's really cool to see the way people interpret the writing and the vision and how it changes from me to you and it's just really exciting to see you guys take inspiration from my writing to make something totally new and unique to your experience with the story. i wouldn't necessarily call tnp collaborative storytelling but i do love that part of it especially when i see your hunters and how different they all are despite existing within the same narrative, how some people have wildly different interpretations but also extremely similar ones that connect them all together even across opposing playthroughs and playstyles... i just love it

Hernandez Twins Analysis / Taylor’s perspective (chapter 34)

Before the Season 1 finale there aren’t many instances where Taylor breaks character or openly shows signs of unhappiness regarding her personal life. That’s why I wanted to discuss a small but significant moment in chapter 34 that i haven’t seen anyone else discussing

In this scene Aiden yells Ashlyn’s name when a phantom grabs her and drags her into the ceiling. Immediately Taylor is worried and wants to check out what happened. However Tyler, being an overprotective brother and knowing better than to let her walk into a dangerous, unknown situation, stops her. Instead he tells her to look for the car keys while he goes to see what’s wrong

I want to focus on Taylor’s reaction after this.

She goes silent looking skeptical. On the surface this could be because she’s worried about their situation but I want to take it a step further I think she feels guilty in that moment.

Before Season 2 we didn’t know much about the twins’ past. Even when we did learn about it we mostly got Tyler’s perspective, his sacrifices, how he took on a parental role for both Taylor and their mother, and how he became their caretaker

Taylor was too young and too emotionally damaged at the time their dad passed to fully understand the weight of Tyler’s promise to always take care of them and he never wavered from that promise.

But one thing we only understand if we get in Taylor’s shoes is that Tyler isn’t Tay’s father or a parental figure, he’s her twin. They are equals in every way. Yet he constantly puts himself in danger for her sake. While this makes Taylor feel loved and protected it also fills her with guilt. She knows Tyler doesn’t do it out of control or obligation but out of unconditional love so it only makes her feel selfish when she questions his decisions or makes her worried that she isn’t being grateful enough.

Tyler’s pure intentions, however, don’t change the fact that he carries the weight of their family’s pain alone. She knows she can always rely on him but deep down she wants that to be mutual.

She wants to protect him. She wants to prove she can handle these situations so he doesn’t always have to. But because she loves him she doesn’t want to put more problems on his plate. So instead, she takes on the role of the emotionally supportive one, the one who always knows what to say, who is kind, who is grateful.

That’s her way of helping.

But at her core, she wants so badly to break character, to cry, to yell, to be angry. She wants to show her brother I can take care of myself so you can focus on yourself too. She knows he doesn’t see her as weak but no matter what she does it never feels like enough

So in this brief moment, she reflects. The guilt creeps in. Why does he always have to be the one to put himself in danger? I should be the one to do it.

I believe it’s important to explore the negative and selfish emotions each character experiences without fear of judgment. Taylor is afraid to be selfish because she recognizes everything Tyler has done for her but precisely because she’s a traumatised 15year old girl it’s normal for her think

Why won’t my brother open up to me? Why won’t he let me help him? I’m capable of protecting him too

After all they’re just teenagers navigating situations that are far from normal or healthy.

It's sorta funny when I search up what an Irish exit is all the results I've seen so far are saying it means to leave an event/gathering without saying goodbye.

For me, in my experience of leaving places, an Irish exit would consist of extending your leave as long as possible saying stuff like "ah, I have to go now I really do it was lovely meeting you thank you for everything." Then they might ask if you'd like something extra to eat or drink, or they bring up one more thing to chat about while you're walking away, then you find yourself staying there for another half hour to full hour or so. Then you say "alright now I REALLY need to go" then walk away saying bye hundreds of times like "See ya!! Bye!! Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye."

The way Nesta’s stans have been trying to defend her at every turn for years and she still gets insulted by not being credited for one of the biggest moments in ACOWAR by the publisher. The mad disrespect. The audacity to keep failing us the fans and cave to spam comments.

Talk about an actual hated female character. Her accomplishments and story is always being undermined because she isn’t this perky, uber feminine character. That scene is ACOWAR was pivotal for her character and was symbolic of the promise she made in Hybern back in ACOMAF. The wording on the bracket really does seem like copy and paste, so it truthfully would not surprise me if Bloomsbury did not even fact check the submissions.

People continuously sideline Nesta and steal her backstory, current and future plot arcs, and accomplishments and credit other characters. I joined this fandom for Nesta, not ships, and I place her above anything—she is beyond meaningful to me and she is my favorite character for a reason.

This ship war has made people blind to how ridiculous they are and it makes the general fandom and casual readers suffer because of it. Imagine not being aware of what’s happening, you see the bracket, and genuinely are confused because those are the most memorable moments from the entire series? A lack of mention of UTM, really nothing about Nesta in ACOSF, Rhys misting the battlefield, Papa Archeron coming with the ships, really no Nessian, Feyre with the lesser fae that lost his wings, Feyre during the Tithe, etc. If I was Sarah, I’d be insulted.

Bloomsbury is more than aware of the ship war and encourage this behavior for likes, shares, and other forms of engagement. They believe that this will sell the next ACOTAR book, but all it’s doing is driving people out of the space and, in turn, driving people from wanting to read the next book.

I occasionally wish to reach out to old friends/acquaintances I haven't spoken to since high school/some other even earlier time in my life, but I have SOOO little social energy even for required tasks (like making dr phone calls or etc), I never have any leftover for extra ones, and it would be very odd to message someone I haven't spoken to in like 5 years out of the blue but then take 4 entire months to respond back lol.. My natural curiosity with nostalgia/collecting details of the past/etc. (literally if I were born a little earlier I would definitely do scrapbooking or something lol) is very strong, but, alas, not strong enough to beat out the Social Issues Demons apparently

Jekyll and hyde (the book) is literally SO funny bc imagine you have this incredibly complex character whos both earnestly good and evil simultaneously, is religious and donates to charities but also tramples children and kills people, who casually says shit like "i was no more myself when i laid aside restraint and plunged in shame, then when i laboured, in the eye of day, at the furtherance of knowledge or the relief of sorrow and suffering"

And then having the entire book (aside from the last two chapters) be told from the perspective of Some Guy. Like dont get me wrong i love utterson i think hes hilarious and i understand why they told it from his perspective but hes literally just Some Dude
