Hi, SR.
I just wanted to say that It’s important we all know the difference between ‘friends’ and ‘associates’.
Also—I’m not any sort of insider or anything. Just sharing my thoughts.
Friends are people such as Blake, Ryan, Abigail, Selena, etc. They would never respond to a request for comment about Taylor on their own doing. They’d never address something like this on her behalf, even if she had done so first. Because to do so would betray her trust given her status and how she probably can’t trust a lot of people anyways.
When something irks Taylor, she responds. Like when she was almost unable to perform her song medley at the AMA’s. Or when Damian Albarn tried to discredit her as a songwriter. Or when Ginny & Georgia made a joke about her dating life. Even when the 🍊1 made the comment about the shooting starts when the looting starts.
An associate is simply someone she knows of. Now, hypothetically speaking, what associate of an associate recently had rumors that they were running to tabloids and blabbing about their hangouts with Taylor?
Not saying this associate is responsible for the CNN article, but just showing the difference between how a friend acts compared to an associate.
Notice how they said the associate spoke on the condition of anonymity?
This also shows the difference between a ‘source’ and an ‘associate’. A source wouldn’t request anonymity, because the writer would (or should) by default provide it.
All in all, the only other person that would be affected by the article *would* be an associate who is because they benefit in some way from the association. Blake Lively wouldn’t lose out on a movie role because she’s good friends with Taylor if the allegations were true. (Allegations because they haven’t been confirmed by Taylor herself)
If we’re being honest, no one even really hyped up the article outside of people here on Tumblr and Swifties (some of whom believe they are direct associates of Taylor’s. Lol).
So did this “associate” speak to CNN directly to make themselves seem credible?

The Voice sure does know how to go out with a bang! As the reality competition show draws to the close of its 24th season, the Emmy-winning program has announced its star-studded lineup for its finale episode, which is set to air on NBC's Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
2024 Grammy nominees Jelly Roll and Tyla are set to take The Voice stage to commemorate the season 24 finale, alongside performances from Earth, Wind & Fire, AJR, Keith Urban and season 25 coaches Dan + Shay. The intergenerational genre-spanning lineup will play a collection of songs that combine major moments in their respective careers, the dominant songs and styles of 2023 and their latest releases.
Jelly Roll, a four-time 2023 Billboard Music Awards finalist, will perform his Grammy-nominated Lainey Wilson-assisted "Save Me," the second single from his chart-topping album Whitsitt Chapel. Amapiano/Afropop star Tyla will perform "Water," her breakout single, which recently hit the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 ahead of the release of her forthcoming debut studio album.
Music legends Earth, Wind & Fire will perform a career-spanning medley that previews the band's upcoming Heart & Soul 2024 Tour, which they are co-headlining with Chicago. Another genre-fusing band, AJR, will perform a medley of its hit single "Bang!" and "Yes I'm a Mess," which hit No. 28 on Rock Airplay this year.
Keith Urban, a four-time Grammy winner who previously served as a judge on American Idol and a coach on the Australian version of The Voice, will perform "Blue Ain't Your Color," his 2016 hit single which ranked at No. 9 on Billboard's Decade-End U.S. Hot Country Songs (2010-2019). Another superstar country act, Dan + Shay, will grace the stage with a performance of "Bigger Houses," the title track from their most recent LP.
In addition to these eye-popping guests, The Voice has even more performances in store for the season 24 finale. Season 22 winner Bryce Leatherwood will return to perform "The Finger," a single from his forthcoming project. Furthermore, this season's top 12 artists will band together for a special joint performance. In that spirit, this year's coaching panel - Niall Horan, John Legend, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani - will join forces for a bubbly rendition of "Let It Snow."
This season marks the first in which none of the show's original coaches - Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and CeeLo Green - from the series' inaugural season appear on the coaching panel. Shelton departed after last season, which saw One Direction alum Niall Horan emerge victorious.

losing my head, spinning round and round - a wednesday x tyler playlist
a playlist about post-season 1 wednesday addams and tyler galpin, from wednesday's pov. for day 7 of @weylerweek2023; prompt: memories. click keep reading for notes on the translated lyrics & bonus track.
Take a Bow - Bathe Alone Wish you well, I cannot stay You deserve an award for the role that you play No more masquerade You're one lonely star
Tango - Ryuichi Sakamoto* A ghost stands outside the window The cry of the wind never stops Now that I'm bound by death, yet still alive Let's just turn into a clod of earth and sleep here forever (*,*)
Fishtail - Lana Del Rey Don't you dare say That you'll braid my hair, babe If you don't really care You wanted me sadder
Life is Not the Same - James Blake You knew it would get dark You made sure I would need you in every way So if you loved me so much Why'd you go?
The Limit to Your Love - Feist There's a limit to your care So carelessly there Is it truth or dare?
Of Him I Love Both Day and Night - Andrea von Kampen Of him I love both day and night Though I heard somewhere he had gone That was the first time that I lived Now it all seems so twisted and wrong
Everything Belongs to You - Joesef We tried our best to make it through But my eyes are black, my lips are blue And there's this heaviness when I move And that's 'cause everything belongs to you
Bonus Track: Backstage Romance - Moulin Rouge! The Musical Original Broadway Cast** I want your love and all your lovers' revenge You and me could write a bad romance
*notes on the English translation to ryuichi sakamoto's (rip) tango: i couldn't find a valid japanese-to-english translation to the song. i google-translated it, but the result was very bad. however, i did find a japanese-to-chinese translation, which i then translated to english, and although my chinese isn't good, i was able to understand the result better. so, the lines you see above are an english interpretation of the chinese translation to a japanese song, and it may contain inaccuracies. i put the links to both the og lyrics + chinese translation, so you can try personally translating them, if you want. but here's my interpretation of the song, if you're interested. again, i must warn you, that it may contain inaccuracies and please feel free to message me and let me know how i can improve it. thank you!
**notes on backstage romance: why have only 1 song about bad romance when we can have a medley of 4 songs about bad romance lol?

I saw fangirls the musical!
It feels so surreal, I wish there was a UK version of the soundtrack so I could relive it better (with the lyric changes etc.). I saw one article about it, watched Yve Blake's tedtalk and knew I had to see it.
It was so worth it, it was amazing! So here is my full recount of why (no spoilers, I just put the cut because it's long)
TLDR: In conclusion, fangirls is one of the best things I have ever seen and if it comes back to the UK I would happily see it again although I'm not sure anything will be as magical as this first time.
If you can I would really recommend going to the show before its run finishes if you're a fan of anything or you have ever been a fan of anything there's something in it for you.
If you want the long version!
We were sat so close to the stage which was super cool and also meant I could almost touch Harry when he was reaching out during the heartbreak nation medley which has never happened to me at a concert.
I had also made a sign that said heartbreak nation because I read in an article it was something the Australian fans did. This meant I got asked to dance a tiny bit during the heartbreak nation medley by the cast in the stalls with us which was so amazing, it has probably made my year. I feel like that's the sort of thing that only happens in books or at least never happens to me and then because of fangirls (and because I'm fangirly enough to make a sign) I got to.
Onto the actual content of the show, the soundtrack was incredible. I could feel the bass through the floor at some points and I've also had so many of the lyrics in my head since. I really want a full cast uk soundtrack although I don't know if we'll get it.
I cried. At least 5 times. I felt like it was a show that really understood me, not just as a fan but as a teenage girl and that's something that I think is hard to achieve. The portrayal of friendships was really wonderful and I like the inclusion of online friends and real life friends because that's what fandoms are like!
I feel like all the characters were well established and developed and I love the diversity that it showed within the people who were all fans of the same thing (and within the cast) because again it felt so real. I love all the characters it would take me so long to list. I think I probably related the most to Edna and brianna.
I love the detail. A lot of the lyrics in justice are almost quotes from the tedtalk and I think that's really cool. I'm going to make a separate post to talk about nobody and the overall messages of the show (which I also love) because I want to avoid spoilers in this post.
After the show, I managed to get some of the cast to sign my sign and they were all so kind!
In conclusion, fangirls is one of the best things I have ever seen and if it comes back to the UK I would happily see it again although I'm not sure anything will be as magical as this first time.
If you can I would really recommend going to the show before its run finishes if you're a fan of anything or you have been a fan of anything there's something in it for you.

collaboration spotlight — CMA 2014 Single of the Year nominee mashup by Home Free
youtube
After Home Free won the fourth season of The Sing-Off, it perked up some ears in the country music world. They were invited to perform at the annual CMA Fest in early June, and were inducted as association members a couple weeks later.
When the CMA Awards nominations were announced in the fall, Home Free decided to record a rundown of the nominees for Single of the Year. All of the songs in question seem to have a common theme of escapism, be it nostalgia for the simplicity of childhood, or coping with a sad turn of events. Seeing how much fun their friends in VoicePlay were having with their "Aca Top 10" series, Home Free enlisted Layne and Geoff to help with the comparatively easy task of arranging just five songs.
Details:
title: CMA 2014 Single of the Year nominee mashup
original songs / performers: "Automatic" by Miranda Lambert; [0:30] "Mine Would Be You" by Blake Shelton; [0:46] "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" by Tim McGraw, featuring Faith Hill; [1:08] "Give Me Back My Hometown" by Eric Church; [1:32] "Drunk on a Plane" by Dierks Bentley
written by: "Automatic" by Nicolle Galyon, Natalie Hemby, & Miranda Lambert; "Mine Would Be You" by Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington, & Deric Ruttan; "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" by Tom Douglas, Jaren Johnston, & Jeffrey Steele; "Give Me Back My Hometown" by Eric Church & Luke Laird; "Drunk on a Plane" by Dierks Bentley, Chris Tompkins, & Josh Kear
arranged by: Layne Stein & Geoff Castellucci
release date: 29 October 2014
My favorite bits:
Adam's turntable belt buckle — fashionable and fidgetable, perfect for the adorkable vocal percussionist in your life
Chris, Austin, and Rob's lovely harmonies in "Mine Would Be You"
the slight tempo increase on "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" that makes the excerpt feel a little less melancholy than the original
dropping out everything but Adam's sparse percussion and Rob's clear melody at the beginning of "Give Me Back My Hometown" then layering everyone else back in
Tim building anticipation with that long low note
finishing with the party atmosphere of "Drunk on a Plane", but adding in little callbacks to each song
Austin's cute ramble in the outro, "We hope you all win… even though you can't…"
Trivia:
Blackbird Studios in Nashville, where the video was recorded, is also familiar to fellow Sing-Off alumna Emoni Wilkins, as she has recorded backing vocals for a number of other artists there.
"Drunk on a Plane" was also included in VoicePlay's "Wow! Vol. 1" medley / skit for the 2015 Sing-Off tour, which featured a video clip of Tim Foust as an informercial hype man.

The flavours of the French Riviera - The Good Life France
Greetings Emmanuel Macron Alain Berset Xi Jinping Ines Chaieb,
This is the day life I had growing up. I come from patio dining and farmer's market community as a child; Minced Garlic Ginger Powder Tempura Seafood Medley with Swiss Cheese and Olives Pasta Salads. I know they are questions on my upbringing; exposure therapy was done on me. That's why I am so different where I hate communication with some black people.
Regards,
Adrian Blake-Trotman

COUCH TOURING WITH CAFFE LENA TV
BRUCE MOLSKY/MAEVE GILCHRIST, 23 MARCH 2023
BEPPE GAMBETTA, 24 MARCH 2023
This venerable Saratoga Springs, NY, folk club has a fairly robust apparatus for streaming concerts and I have enjoyed Vieux Farka Toure and the Old Blind Dogs from them with minimal incident. BRUCE MOLSKY, starting yet another interesting project with harper MAEVE GILCHRIST, and BEPPE GAMBETTA are, like the Dogs, old Focal Point favorites. That they were on successive nights was unusual, but sure, let’s do it.
There were some temporary glitches the first night (and I had some on a different device from usually reliable Small’s Live Tuesday night), sadly, the BEPPE GAMBETTA show froze repeatedly requiring reboots and the stream seemed to skip like warped vinyl. I closed it off halfway through the second set. Both shows will be available for another week, so I may give them as shows a second chance, but I will hesitate before reupping with Caffe Lena TV.
That disappointment comes because my expectations for these artists is so high. We got to see BRUCE MOLSKY at the Hiawatha Music Festival while on vacation last summer in concerts, dances, and workshops and he still makes it to the Focal Point. He is such a solid fiddler, full of technique and taste. Like Kevin Burke among others, he makes it seem effortless and it sneaks up on you that he actually just did something amazing. He is proudly an old time fiddler and yet he plays with Balkan, Irish, Finnish, Cajun, and Swedish musicians, bringing his tradition in conversation with the others and seamlessly playing the other musics too. So now he’s working with MAEVE GILCHRIST who is from Scotland but has Irish relatives (not, I think, a typical Scotch Irish story). This was hardly Scottish tune>old time medleys, though they did begin with a deliberate Irish air that settled into an old time tune. There were songs, contemporary but with tradition (Kate Rusby, a telling of an Australian shipwreck, Nic Jones, LInda—not Richard—Thompson) and Finnish, Shetlands (Fully and Newly Rigged Ship!!) and Metis tunes to go with the old time and Celtic elements.
They are heading out for some gigs and then a festival, but this seems to have been the tour opener. There was a bit of a settling in early as the fiddle found a way around the harp, but they worked that out. The banjo worked out more immediately, interestingly enough. Gilchrist has a fine voice and sense of tunes and songs, but it’s a weird instrument. Still she gave it some drive and it is after all somewhere between a guitar and a piano. I will always be interested in what Molsky does, so I’m glad we got to see this effort.
BEPPE GAMBETTA is a guitar geek’s dream—amazing flatpicking, certainly inspired by Doc Watson, but incredibly wide ranging. We gave up after he played a Verdi aria that he played at Doc’s visitation. He also did a couple of tunes from his collaboration with David Grisman celebrating Italian mandolin music (requires a Maybelle Carter approach to translate the duets to one guitar) and songs in Italian. One told an Italian outlaw tale not unlike Randall Collins which he also did. He mentioned Watson several times and we came back from one pause in the middle of a Blue Railroad Train>Brown’s Ferry Blues>Nashville Blues. But that, the Norman Blake tune, and an outro fiddle tune refracted through his part time residence in New Jersey, Fuhgedda About Me Not were the main bits of bluegrass/old time-y music. But even those were refracted through his harmonic complexities. His guitar instrumentals, though flat picked, struck me more related to the John Fahey/Leo Kotke fingerstyle tradition. As such they are even more amazing.
The above comments are, alas, not based on a full, uninterrupted version of the concert. Over time, the irritation will dissipate and I’ll think I have a sense of Beppe Gambetta 2023. But, for now, I’m aggravated and disinclined to return to Caffe Lena even as I want to keep checking in on the wonderful world of music The Focal Point opened up to us Kleindorfs and not just defaulting to jazz.
