“Hopes, huh?” Rubbing the back of his neck, Ellis sighed, “I… Hope that things with Em, Jess, and Carver stay good.” That was a good place to start. He was always sure that he was going to fuck it all up by being too much of a downer, "And I hope that Bullet stays with me for a long, long time."

“Wishes… Uh, I wish I could spend more time with everyone. I always have Bullet, but I get lonely.” A sad smile worked onto his face and he sighed a little bit, folding his hands together on the tabletop and shaking his head, “I think I also wish I could… Forgive myself. Em always says I need to but I don't know if I even can.”

canon takes place following the events of blair waldorf's "hazing" of miss rachel carr in season two of gossip girl, where she is sentenced to miss robichaux's academy in new orleans from new york by headmistress queller. blair, unknowingly, sets headmistress queller's office on fire with her pyrokinesis (one of her powers as a growing witch) as she learns she will be suspended, costing her future at yale university.

she travels back and forth from new orleans to new york thanks to eleanor waldorf negotiating with headmistress queller, however for the most part: blair is residing at miss robichaux's academy for exceptional young ladies.

#1 About the mun

Hey! I’m Susan (she/her) but usually go by my fandom name Veri (see @veritaaas for my main blog). I’m 31, from Germany and pretty chill most of the time! Always open to make new friends and chat! Just like my muse, I work for a film production company and thus am a complete workaholic. I’m also a night owl and usually active between 8pm - 4am GMT+1 (Germany), should be around daytime in the US and so on. I only recently rebooted this blog in Nov 2021 and am more active again. Shouldn’t take me longer than a week to reply to anything. I'm from Germany and not a native English speaker by any means. So there might be grammatical errors and typos in my replies. Please bear with me here and be kind. I always appreciate some help and suggestions regarding my writing as long as it’s delivered in a polite manner, not in a condescending way. I don’t expect your writing/English to be perfect either, as long as I can interpret what is being written.

#2 About the muse

I know my pages cover a lot of info regarding Lance, his canon, and the world surrounding that canon. As not to confuse you too much about what kind of character he is, here’s the basic and most important information: Though like half my interactions are based on my possessed verse, Lance is not a villain character, and neither is the demon possessing him his main trait. He’s more of a victim/anti hero character who at his core, is still a good guy who’s trying to find a way out of his twisted situation. The same goes for his verses set during or before canon, the only difference there is that he isn’t possessed by a demon, but more by his obsession with becoming famous and making loads of money. In those verses he can be somewhat of a self-centered dick, but the good at heart trait still applies. So all in all, he’s a pretty ordinary guy trapped in some freakish circumstances and/or mental health issues.

#3 Content Warnings

This is a mature blog. Since Grave Encounters is a found footage horror movie, there will be mentions of violence, death, horror and psychological issues. However, I won’t write about excessive gore or horrendous torture/super depraved things. Though things can get pretty dark on here, I try to keep it tame. Think Paranormal Activity or Blair Witch Project kinda horror, not Hostel or SAW madness. Lance is a very troubled character with mental disorders in most of the verses. His biggest problem in canon is that he has severe Stockholm's syndrome and suffered through some horrible psychological torture. And if nothing from the movies has happened to him yet, you can expect him to be a somewhat of a douchebag. If topics like mental disorders/treatment/health, mentions of psychological and physical abuse as well as possession, demons, ghosts and horror trigger you, Lance and the Grave Encounters verse won’t be suitable for you. Special note regarding the lovecraftian lore on my blog: As some might be aware, H.P. Lovecraft was a racist, elitist and classist, and that is disgustingly apparent especially in his early work. I do not condone any of this, and neither will I be writing any of that when including his Azathoth in any of my threads. I've hijacked only bits and pieces of that lore, the basic idea of Azathoth so to say, the rest of it is pretty much original at this point. There might be some mild and sensual NSFW material on this blog every now and then, which I'm only posting on sindays. There might be the occassional smutty-ish thread, but that will be behind a readmore. I'm tagging possibly triggering stuff with the following format: triggerword tw. Since tumblr is stupid and loves to fully hide posts with a 'nsfw' tag, I'll be tagging those as it's sinday! and lemons.

#4 Selectivity

Both mun and muse are 30+. I’m selective and do not wish to roleplay with other muns that are minors. However, muses under the age of 18 are welcome. (not that Lance is any good with kids though who are we kidding) I prefer to RP with muses from similar genres (horror, paranormal, vampires/werewolves/demons, ghost hunting and so forth). If you follow me I assume you're showing interest in writing with me. Awesome! It usually takes me less than a week to check out your blog and decide if I'm interested in writing with you. If I don't follow back or don't reply to a thread you tagged me in, chances are that your blog contained something that I mentioned in the following rules about my own preferences. It's nothing personal, I just like to keep my dash tidy and fun for me.

#5 Other Preferences

As of late 2022, I likely won't be following back if you're a multimuse blog with more than 3 characters on it. I like to see characters, stories and faceclaims on my dash that I'm interested in and that bring me joy. Unfortunately, I've had a few select somewhat unpleasant instances where I found my dash flooded with characters, threads and images I had no interest in due to mumu blogs with a -lot- of characters on them. No shade from my side of course, I admire people who have the energy and enthusiasm to write so many characters at once! I just like to focus on a select few characters I can definitely see myself interacting with, hence the mumu rule. I hope you can understand. If you want only one of your mumu characters to interact with my muse, feel free to shoot me an ask or IM and we can talk about it! I'm more than open to have threads with mumu blogs I don't follow back. I just want to keep my dash enjoyable for myself. I do not wish to RP with anime/cartoon/superhero chars. Sorry folks, the whole Marvel/MCU stuff just doesn’t tickle my fancy at all. It’s nothing personal against your chars, I'm sure they're wonderful, it's just my preference as that type of stuff does nothing for me. The same goes for characters that do not have a real life faceclaim (as in an actor/actress). I know, it's weird. But I enjoy RL stuff a lot more. I also do not wish to RP with overly psychopathic/sociopathic characters whose main traits involve excessive sadism, gore, torture porn and what not. I prefer chars with at least an ounce of humanity and redeemability in them. I'll hardly ever change much about my own muse's biography, traits and what not. Meaning I'm not going to write him as a wizard or a mermaid or a robot or whatever else. He'll always be more or less human in my interactions with the occasional demonic or spiritual addon. The only exception to this is my 'The Originals' / vampire verse as I consider that close enough to home for my taste. I can totally see myself write something set in different time periods, but I'm talking +/- 100 years max. A big pet peeve of mine is not cutting your posts. and having mile long replies with repetitive back and forth threads. It clutters up my blog and dashboard. Do what you want with your own posts and blog of course, however, there's a good chance I'm not gonna follow you back or interact much with you if you don't like to keep it tidy. I also probably won't follow back or interact with you if you don't have any info about your muse, no rules and some basics readily available on your blog. I'm not talking big fancy blog pages, carrds or google docs. A link to a standard text post can be more than enough. You just gotta give me something to work with, please :> I'm okay with personal blogs following me and liking/reblogging my gifsets and edits and headcanon posts. I know that the Grave Encounters fandom is so tiny and there's barely any content on here for it, so feel free to reblog the goodies :> I only ask you not to reblog threads and writings I got going with other RPers. Feel free to read them like fanfiction, but don't reblog, thankies :)

#6 The Dos

If you’d like to plot, shoot me an ask and plot right away. I will jump right in. I occasionally repost memes and open starters- take them as invitation to start a convo right off the bat and I will gladly play along. I’m open to roleplay in your muse’s time periods or canons, also feel free to start anything set in Collingwood or the 1940s if you’re up for the challenge. That's not a must of course, I love writing in other muse's verses if I can see Lance in them. My ask box is always open if you want to send in memes or plot ideas, even if we've never interacted with each other before. I love using memes as an ice breaker. If you don't send anything in after a couple of weeks of us becoming mutuals, expect me to send something in to get things going. If I follow you back, I most definitely want to write with you as soon as we can! :> I am okay with all written lengths and will try to match how much you write.This means sentences, paragraphs, etc. I am guilty of some pretty lengthy writing though, so sorry :D Don't ever feel like you need to match my actual paragraph length though. I'm totally fine with you shooting two paragraphs at my long replies. However, expect me to get discouraged if I keep getting one liners in response to my longer replies.

#7 The Donts

I don't tolerate any threads or RL talk containing pedophilia, racism and any sort of preference based phobia, bestiality or slut shaming/misogyny. Just anyone who feels the constant need to belittle/disrespect/insult any group of people/systems for the sake of putting another on a pedestal. I don't care for excessive real life or dashboard drama. I get it, we all got our bad days and want to vent. I do the same on my blog every now and then behind a read more. (tag: # cut it : irl talk) However, if all I see is negativity, call out culture and constant vague posting from your side, I won't follow you/unfollow you. I'm here to have fun and write :> Please don't follow me if you don't plan on actually interacting with me. Always having to be the first one to interact and start something between us when you're the one who followed me first gets somewhat tiring after a while if we're honest. My meme tag is always there and free to select from to start something whenever you want. If you follow me yet make no attempts whatsoever to interact, be that a simple like here and there, or sending a meme or starting a thread or just talking about plotting after a couple of weeks have passed, I'll softblock and move on. I have no interest in boosting an artificial number, I want to write with you! :)

#8 Shipping & Exclusives I am open to shipping on this blog. There must be some minor development between Lance and your character to delve into possible shippy stuff, but it doesn't take much to get him going. Please be aware though that Lance is not the relationship type of person though, and neither is he looking for anything serious or long term. He’s an aromatic douchebag who’s mainly out to have a good time and that’s it. He also doesn't do exclusivity in relationships. I do not yet have any mains and I'm not sure if I'll ever add a list. I got a few favorite people on here where my muse might strike harder every once in a while, but most of the time, I reply in a first come, first serve kind of way. I'm probably open to writing with duplicates of characters, so far that hasn't happened yet though.

Powers/Abilities:   Blair has a powerful form of telekinesis that is linked to their emotions.  The more intensely they feel something the more powerful their powers are, but the more difficult they are to control.  On the flip side, if they’re calm, they have a lot of fine control, but less power.  Like all powers, this can lead to physical consequences if overused.

Personality:  Despite being the sole family heir and being raised around El Asilo’s wealthiest and wildest, Blair can initially come across as sarcastic and guarded.  It takes them awhile to warm up to others, and their loyalty is hard won, though once you have it, you have a steadfast ally.  Gets flustered when people are genuinely sweet to them without ulterior motives.  Sometimes likes to secretly do nice things for people, but will deny it.

- Dislikes sweets and sweet foods.  Candy corn and vanilla milkshakes are the sole notable exceptions.

The character portion of the application can be found under the cut. Her powers sound nothing short of rad and I’m so glad for the additions of a witch and a potions&crafting shop to Dahlthir. I love your writing style and Blaise’s backstory! I was carried easily through her history and pretty much immediately felt for the twins. That turn from love to vengeance though aaa. Anyway, welcome!!

character name: blaise creque housing: merry market, in a potion & crafting shop called blackcap. age: twenty-two (& a half)

appearance: tall, though not as tall as her sister, but nonetheless slender. however, blaise would appear more sturdy that her face claim suggests. she has a lot more muscle than most would think a magic user possesses. her hair remains purple in hue, though it’s a far darker shade than the liliac that colors blair; she would simply call it light purple.  it remains wavy, ending near her rib cage with straight bangs slightly parted.

though her sister often holds an ethereal glow to her, blaise doesn’t have such. rather, her face and features look plain and simple; she looks distinctly human, and she prefers it that way. often times, there may be spots of dirt or coal that grace her skin — there are permanent markings of ash on her face, freckles to flicker across her cheeks. if she glows, it is from her bright and vivid expressions on her face. but her appearance is always robust. ironically, her appearance is more earthly than her sister’s divinity.

to emphasize this, her flesh is not clear nor smooth. her fingers have a variety of callouses, and her skins feels very rough from years of manual labor. along her upper body are a variety of burn marks as well, though because of time and her sister’s medication, it looks more like discolored skin. she isn’t ashamed of her own burns — though pointing any of blair’s will cause immediate guilt to blaise.

blaise’s attire generally tends to vary in color and styles, always wearing whatever seems nice. as a result, it’s hard to particular pin down a certain color scheme that she’ll wear – but generally, she has a preference towards skirts & leggings (especially if the skirts have ruffles).

are they a part of the adventurer’s guild? yes, as a full member due to her prowess and abilities. however, blaise tends to take on quests that is most beneficial to her. for example, she will always prioritize gathering quests if materials are needed by her sister; on occasion, she will do hunts if she is needed or if it’ll bring money if the shop sales are slow. blaise does not take on duties that she has no use for, nor does she listen to the authority figure of her guilds if they request something of her. as a result, many try not to rely on her for quests, despite her achievements in accomplishing even difficult tasks.

background: born to a farmer family in a village no longer in existence, the creque family has two daughters: a set of twins by the name of blaise and blair. as soon as they are able, they do whatever job that their parents require of them. despite their family’s blandness, their daughters have nothing but uniqueness: blair’s ability allows her to blossom, to revitalize land and environment anew; blaise’s, on the other hand, allows her to burn, to cover in warmth or destroy.

yet as a young child who knows of hardness of soil and nothing else, she learns of her power’s destructiveness. her power is not suited for the farm but for the hearth — her home, where fire keeps them warm and their food freshly cooked. it is there that she learns about restriction and discipline; at least, she tries to. she’s always been a fiery girl with passion unbounded. there have been many close calls.

however, blair’s earthly prowess is perfect for their farmland. she increases their food supply, revive their dying lands, and eventually allow the village to flourish. their village honors the creque family — though that honor quickly turns to shame when blair mistakenly ruins the fertility of the soil. she is but a child without the knowledge that many have; but that does little to stop their village from throwing blame and hatred upon her. (after knowing the taste of gold, one hates the taste of dirt.)

they suffocate the blame onto a child, the very one that grants them their riches in the first place. they denounce her as a witch who soils their land intentionally, attempting to place her on trial in an indignant fervor; yet the trial is only a pathetic excuse for justice, for their true purpose is to exert their anger on killing a blameless child. even their parents turn to fury instead of love – as a result, blaise’s love for them turns into her own vengeance.

anger fuels her: that searing heat burning within her with no place to go but outward; so her destruction occurs, reducing their entire city to cinders whilst she holds her dearest twin sister in her arms. they remain burnt, scarred with the knowledge of their deeds and from blaise’s actions. everything else is nothing but dust and charcoal, drifting in the wind as if to erase the calamity that occurs. (but it is never forgotten; it remains in her nightmares.)

yet they continue on, for fire symbolizes rebirth and the earth will always grow once more / like phoenixes from ashes, perhaps their new home could be here, in dahlthir.

personality: upon first glance, blaise is nothing short of fiery. she wears her heart clearly on her sleeve, allowing her passion to ignite her personality and fuel her actions. because of this, many would see her as overly energetic and eager; perhaps some may even see her as self-indulgent for pursuing her wants constantly. but from an overly oppressive childhood forced to work rather than enjoy her life, she chooses her new life to make something better of her life. as a result, she does not hesitate to pursue enjoyments in life; thus, her patience lies on a very thin line. she does what she wants it, when she wants it. (though she tries very hard to not to resort to violence as a reaction.)

because of this, blaise tends to favor a more blunt personality. it isn’t accurate to say that she’s purposefully mean (unless she is teasing or joking around); but rather, she speaks truthfully without hesitation. this has both pros and cons: on one hand, it means that she doesn’t take prejudice or discrimination standing down. she stands up to any oppressor or anything attempting to cause trouble. she lets no one walk over her or takes advantage of her; this gesture is also particularly extended to her sister, who is more forgiving than blaise. however, this often means that if she does not agree with someone, she must say something about the situation. she’s extremely loud for that very reason — but she is damn proud of it, favoring more towards prideful than confident though.

it is also important to note how her personality  shifts in regards to her twin sister, blair. though she respects blair as an independent woman, she also has a fiercely protective nature over her. this comes from the natural affection of being sisters; but it also stems from an internalized sense of guilt in regards to events of their childhood. having hurt her sister, and ruining their entirely livelihood due to her excessive anger, she naturally feels obligated to ensure of her sister’s happiness first and foremost. this loyalty also extends to those that prove their worth to blaise and gain her genuine friendship, instead of her general acquaintanceship that she has with many of the villagers in dahlthir.

but despite her assertive – bordering aggressive – nature, blaise overall is a good person. she always tries her best when she sets her mind to a task, and she isn’t willing to give up on something. that stubbornness allows her to persevere through any situation and garner the respect of many of her fellow adventurers. sometimes her intentions are a bit skewed; but she’s trying her best to make something meaningful of her life aside from just survival. she wants to thrive, and hopefully she can continue to do so in dahlthir.

general abilities:

blaise is, ultimately, a witch. this means that she has the ability to create hexes or cures, if she truly wishes to. she has the means to do so and the tomes to learn from. however, she doesn’t have any interest in the sort; that’s left up to blair. she only is able to create items that enhance fire abilities and reduce cold / water abilities for enemies because that’s suited for her. however, it does make her spell-favored items… lackluster.

instead, blaise focuses on her magic prowess, specifically to the element of fire. because she discovers her powers from a young age and spends many years perfecting her abilities, she is able to control it precisely: from a flickering flame to a tornado of flame. of course, summoning more would take away more of her stamina – however, she can summon quite a large amount if she chooses to do so. for the most part, it isn’t necessarily since flames spread quickly though.

her stamina also lasts quite a while, perhaps a full day’s worth of activities as long as she gets short rests in-between. constant battles would wear her out, as they would do to anyone else – but her stamina is longer-lasting than most mage users as a result of her healthy habits from childhood and physical exercising.

because her powers are heat-based, she tends to feel more energetic when in direct sunlight. there is no direct correlation as to whether the sun actually gives her enhanced abilities; she just likes the feeling of the sun on her skin.

however, on a normal day, she doesn’t use a large extent of her abilities. her abilities are mainly for turning on candles or anything else requiring to be lit, increasing the heat of her crafting oven, or burning disposables where she is able. sometimes, she will expend her abilities more in order to keep up her training to maintain her healthy physique.

specific abilities:

passively, her ability to control fire means she has a higher temperature than most. this is often felt when in her presence is a slight warmth, though it would be more noticeable if someone directly touches her. she can also create a soft glow to her skin to dimly light a room, which takes significantly less effort than focusing to create a flame. she’s like a convenient night light!

for the most general part of offensive abilities, blaise has direct control of fire and can create it from the energy within her. she can also manipulate any other sources of flame, though it proves more difficult if not directly from her own energy. with this direct control, she can use a variety of spells: think of typical fire abilities in various RPGs. i can limit them to specific subsets if necessary, but if not, then her abilities are limited to what her fire is able to do.

however, because of this, if she is doused in water or frozen by cold, she will have difficulty summoning her abilities. she still goes to locations with this if necessary, but she absolutely refuses to swim in any large pool of water as a result. one might consider it a fear, though she vehemently denies calling it such.

extra:

she enjoys crafting, especially things that require an oven to bake or to harden. as a result, she often has various jewelry or pottery available for sale. but as stated earlier, her effects are extremely limited to a small niche that it’s more for her own benefit than anyone else’s. she does make nice trinkets that she’ll sell without the effects, though.

she is currently attempting to learn blacksmithing, though that effort is not as fruitful as her other endeavors. but she’s still trying.

she has charms that enhance fire abilities for herself; she also holds some that decrease water or cold abilities of others, though those have a percentage of failing if the cursed’s mentality surpasses a certain mental strength threshold.

her weapon is a small metal wand, crafted by both herself and a local blacksmith. she paid extra to be included in the process, in which she enhances her wand with her own energy to work better with her abilities. it doesn’t strengthen it in any way, though. it simply allows the energy to flow without as much concentration instead of saying a spell or using a tome. think of her wand as a conduit and nothing more.
