It's a rainy day, a cool wind is running through the city. So here I'm with one of my favorite shirts, I love these type of shirt it gives that touch of goth I love. God I really need to go for a run today it is a plan so I'm going to try me best here.

It’s okay to not be happy. It’s okay to have a blah day. It’s fine to complain. You have a right to vent. Go ahead and be mopey, whiny, and cry if you want to. You don’t have to feel grateful everyday. Sometimes people are selfish, mean, miserable, moody, wretched, unsatisfied, depressed, lonely, insecure, angry AF... and that’s cool, too. One of my fav moments in the movie The Big Chill (a movie that is superbly well written)is when the husband of one of the main character’s is in the kitchen and said, (re: life) “It’s just that no one ever said it would be fun... at least, no one ever said it to me.” That line was my mantra through my entire twenties when I was constantly melodramatic, angsty, dark and very wannabe I-only-wear-black writerly. As a writer I think all emotions are interesting and useful, especially the not so great ones. I am deeply suspicious of people who are happy all the time, and couples who don’t fight, and anyone claiming to have it all together. For every up I have had I’ve had just as many if not more downs. Hmmm... it’s probably too early to know if today is gonna be one of those days... Guys I’m gonna be honest, I’m kind of struggling right now. There is a weight around some of my projects that I just can’t shake and it is really getting to me. . . Do you ever have those days/weeks where everything just feels kind of blah? Where your to do list can suck it and all you want to do is curl up with a fluffy blanket and let the world continue on without you for a bit? (Not in a suicidal way but more of a if I close the blinds and curtains does the outside world even exist sort of way.) . . This happens to me every so often and my best cure for it seems to be to turn it all off for a while. Leave work in the office and the dishes in the sink and just escape for a bit. . . Welcome!

We all need an outlet. So as I welcome any reader along my journey, I am also welcoming myself. I am here to remind myself that staying in tune with who we are is important. Life is beautiful and I am here to also remind myself that through the ups and downs of everyday, we will all be ok. I have had my fair share of every emotion on the emotion radar, but everyday when we rise in the morning and have our coffee (or tea, no judgements here) that its a new day. I am guilty of sometimes having a Monday mentality, that when I’m having a bad Tuesday, Thursday, or Blahday, that the whole week is ruined. And it will only be ok when a new week starts. FALSE. Our brain knows that’s not logically true. But damnit, I know its hard to get out of a funk sometimes. I am here to turn those bad days, those embarrassing lessons, and hard truths into fuel for growth, self reflection, and grace. I am guilty of sharing only good times in my life, only pretty pictures, but man sometimes that’s not real. I am here to let my guard down. I want to be real and raw, with some humor of course. The truth is, sometimes its scary to be vulnerable for fear of being judged. This is a no judgement zone. So, as much as I am here for myself, I am here for you.
