The truly insane levels of sexual tension if Dean had been in a situation where he needed to pull Cas's angel blade out of his sleeve to help them escape somewhere. Their wrists have been tied together by whatever monster-of-the-week caught them, so Cas can't catch it falling or reach into his own sleeve.

But Dean can.

Dean's fingers graze the back of Cas's hand and glance off his wrist as he reaches in. They hold really intense really weird eye contact the whole time Dean slides his hand slowly up there.

The moment is just. so much.

Anyway Dean slides the blade free of Cas's sleeve while both of them forget how to breathe, Cas's eyes flutter shut on their own and break the eye contact, Dean uses the blade to cut loose their bonds, they save the day, and the first thing Dean says to Cas when he hands his Angel Blade back is "So how does it work anyway? One second there's nothing there and then, bam, angel blade in my hand."

Cas does his best to explain pocket dimensions, angelic intention, extensions of the angelic being... and Dean clicks his fingers like he's got it. He proudly announces, "It's a Mary Poppins bag."

Cas feels like he's had conversation whiplash and manages a confused, "What?"

"Your sleeve. It's like the bag from Mary Poppins."

Cas just had one of the most profound and intimate experiences in his angelic existence and Dean is making silly pop culture references about his sleeve and Cas has never wanted to kiss him more

Shameful over daring to even converse with someone as lowly as you. Yet despite the harsh words, they enjoyed every second with you. To be seen with a standard human like you would surely damage his image.

One night the fear of ruining his reputation hits an all time peak, and he loses his cool. Yelling at you that you’re not worth losing anything for. That this all needs to end; that it’s been a waste of his time to be pursuing a useless relationship. When he finally cools down and you leave, will he realize what he’s just done. No matter what he sees or hears he tell himself that it was worth it. His reputation is no longer at stake and you can be happier not needing to pay pretend anymore.

They wish they could just leave everything behind and live a life with you two. No worries of work, reputation, or enemies. Maybe in the next lifetime. But in this lifetime they hope you’d forgive them somewhere down the line for leaving you.

As years go by and he gets older, the only hope he has is that one day you’ll be back so you’ll be able to grow old together. Every marriage proposal he turns down because he can only imagine spending his life with you. He thought his reputation was everything, now he realizes you were actually everything thing to him.

Today, Dean hears a clatter coming from the washing machine. He goes to pause the machine, reaching in to find Cas's laundry load of his favorite outfit. Reaching for the damp trenchcoat, Dean searches it and finds that Cas has left his angel blade in its pocket. He puts it aside and restarts the cycle, already planning jokes to tell about the situation.
