HIROSHI WATANABE aka KAITO (Transmat / Kompakt)

Hiroshi Watanabe, as the Japanese artist on Kompakt, Germany's largest electronic label, he has released four original albums, as well as the beat-less version of them, under his another alias Kaito, his delicate and beautiful melodies has been gracefully praised by a wide range of music fans. He has also released two albums under HIROSHI WATANABE on Klik Records in Greece, and in 2016, he released “Multiverse” on the most legendary Detroit label Transmat - regardless of the fact that the release from Transmat in recent years has been surprisingly limited because only extremely pure music are selected by Derrick May's aesthetic. It's a work that comes alive with a sound like a galaxy that shines brightly in the universe. It can be said that he is a unparalleled musician who is moving forward to unprecedented heights as a Japanese person.

ドイツ最大のエレクトロニック・レーベルKompaktのアーティストとしてKaito名義の作品を発表する傍ら、ギリシャのKlik Recordsからも作品をリリースしている。2002年に制作したKaitoの1stアルバム『Special Life』に収録された「Intension」がFrancois K.のミックスCDに収録されるなど瞬く間に大反響を呼び、10年以上が経過した現在も色褪せることのない名曲として語り継がれている。その後、Kompaktのコンピレーション・アルバムにも収録された表題曲を含む2ndアルバム『Hundred Million Light Years』を発表。この2枚のアルバムで一躍Kaitoの名は世界中に浸透し、バルセロナのSonar Festivalなどのビック・イベントでライヴを披露した。Kaito名義の��リジナル・アルバムでは常に対になるビートレス・アルバムも制作され、繊細かつ美しい旋律により幅広い音楽ファンに受け入れられている。3rdアルバム『Trust』に対しての『Trust Less』では更にアコースティックな要素も取り入れ、リスニング機能をより高めた作品となった。 本名のHiroshi Watanabe名義では自身最大のセールスを記録した1stアルバム『Genesis』に続き、2011年に『Sync Positive』を発表。タイトルが示す通り、リスナーを鼓舞させる渾身の作品となっている。またリミックスを機に交流を深めてきた曽我部恵一との異色コラボレーション・アルバム『Life, Love』ではメランコリックな音像と歌声が溶け合った叙情的なサウンドで新境地を切り拓いている。一方、ニューヨーク在住時代に出会ったグラフィック・デザイナー、北原剛彦とのダウンテンポ・プロジェクトTreadでは、シンプルで柔らかい上音と乾いたビートの融合を絶妙のバランスで確立し、ハウス、テクノ、ヒップ・ホップなどジャンルの壁を越えて多方面から注目を浴びることに。限定生産された5枚のアルバムと4枚のEPは不変の価値を持つ名盤として知られている。 2013年にはKompakt設立20周年を記念して制作された2枚組DJミックス『Recontact』を、更にKaito名義としては4年振りとなるアルバム『Until the End of Time』を発表。新生Kaitoとも言える壮大なサウンドスケープが描かれている。2016年初頭にはテクノ史に偉大な軌跡を刻んできたデトロイトのレーベルTransmatよりEP『Multiverse』をリリース。主宰Derrick Mayの審美眼により極端に純度の高い楽曲のみがナンバリングされるため、近年はリリースそのものが限定的となっている中での出来事。EPと同名のアルバムは、さながら宇宙に燦然と煌めく銀河のようなサウンドが躍動する作品となっている。歴史を創出してきた数多のレーベルを拠点に世界中へ作品を届け続けるHiroshi Watanabe。日本人として前人未到の地へ歩みを進める稀代の音楽家と言えるだろう。

No somos de dar noticias del tema, pero el caso lo amerita. Grant Petty, CEO de Blackmagic, presentó la nueva Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K, la nueva cámara de cine digital con un sensor de imagen de 12,288 x 6,480 12K Super 35, 14 paradas de rango dinámico y slow motion a 60 fps en 12K. También permite grabar en 4K, 6K, 8K. Esta cámara de 3ra generación admite la nueva ciencia de color Blackmagic Generation 5 y un mayor rendimiento en RAW, todo en el mismo cuerpo de cámara URSA Mini Pro. Está pensada para la industria del cine de gran formato inmersivo IMAX, bueno eso fue lo que pudimos ver en su sitio web. Otra utilidad sería para efectos especiales con pantalla verde y CGI en general. Pero siempre nos viene la inquietud, no es todo esto un show mediático para posicionar la marca frente a su competencia RED Cinema y ARRI Alexa? Claramente es una guerra de formatos por resolución sin sentido, y se olvidan de nuestras necesidades e inquietudes como usuarios de estas tecnologías. Los directores de foto buscamos otros beneficios a nivel de diseño y flujo de trabajo, mejor latitud, practicidad a la hora de irnos a post producción pues de entrada 12k no es un archivo fácil de usar en un computador cualquiera, sin sumar el peso de los archivos al grabar, que de seguro será un problema. Cuando la marca incursionó en la fabricación de cámaras de cine, se nos presentó como una alternativa para democratizar el acceso a cámaras de cine con prestaciones útiles, donde la relación costo benefico no tenía comparación. Aún los tiene, pero claramente con este lanzamiento vemos una separación. Pensamos que enfocarse en las necesidades reales de los usuarios nos permite crecer a todos. Un ejemplo es colocar a sus cámaras el vectorscopio y el monitor forma de onda que nos darían un plus a la hora de exponer. Solo esperamos que pare esta carrera de resoluciones entre marcas y piensen en innovar de la mano con los usuarios, no por moda o necesidades cosméticas. Qué opinas sobre estas nuevas resolciones? ディスコティックでオブスキュアな楽曲&EditとDJを得意とするDJ/プロデューサー Kuu。

DJ Toshirohとのユニット”Jig n’ Hug”で以前よりMixなどの提供で親交が深いサンフランシスコのディスコ＆バレアリックシーンで重要な役割を担う、The Beat Broker/Dream ChimneyがRemixをした”Moist EP”を2016年12月末にリリース。

プロモ段階から日本国内はDJ KZA、Chee Shimizu氏がプレイ、またイタリアのバレアリック&オブスキュアハウスシーンを代表するレーベルHell Yeah RecordingsのオーナーMarcoもプレイ。

また2019年6月中旬にKuniyuki氏がマスタリングに携わったJTT(Yu-Zen)とのスプリットシングル"Two Faces EP"もリリース。

都内各所でDJをしながら、現在セカンドEPを作成中。

Kuu is a DJ / producer who specializes in disco and obscure songs & Edit and DJ.

"Moist EP" remixed by The Beat Broker / Dream Chimney, who plays an important role in the San Francisco disco & Balearic scene, which has a close relationship with DJ Toshiroh in the unit "Jig n'Hug" by providing Mix etc. Released at the end of December 2016.
