         pure,   unbridled   joy   tore   its   way   through   parted   lips   as   long,   dark   hair   whipped   to   and   fro   as   her   slender   body   kept   pace   with   the   other   dancers.   the   warm   light   of   the   bonfire   reflected   off   brilliant   amber,   causing   them   to   glow   unnaturally   bright.   she   paid   no   attention,   cheeks   flushed   with   exertion   as   she   continued   uninhibited.   melodic   laughter   joined   cheerful   shouts     &&       general   merriment.   'twas   not   often   the   witch   was   able   to   participate   in   such   activities,   but   she   would   enjoy   the   festivities   as   much   as   possible.

         a   large,   calloused   hand   snuck   its   way   ‘round   her   supple   waist,   pulling   her   close   as   the   music   suddenly   changed   tempo.   a   dark   brow   shot   up   in   surprise,   head   canted   to   the   side   as   she   studied   the   man   who   sought   fit   to   encroach   on   personal   space.   liquid   amber   trailed   up   the   man’s   body   before   they   met   brilliant   gold.   hyeon   frowned   up   at   the   man,   acting   as   an   affronted   woman   should,   though   she   could   not   hide   the   bemused   quirk   of   her   lips.

         ❝       is   this   how   men   like   you   greet   a   woman,   darling     ??       i   must   say,   i   am   not   impressed.       ❞           though   her   silken   words   chastised,   there   was   no   denying   the   amusement   that   colored   her   melodic   voice.   there   was   a   challenging   glint   held   within   her   amber   gaze   as   she   gracefully   followed   his   lead.   she   knew   not   who   the   man   was,   but   the   prowling   grace   with   which   he   moved   told   her   enough.

general appearance: bran and iliam stand at 6'6". bran sporting darker hair than his twin brother while iliam has light blonde with pink mixed in. they both sport their father's teal eyes. they both sport a more lanky stature and are not nearly as broad or tall as their father. they both also have softer features thanks to their mother.

personality: bran is brash and headstrong. always the one to lead the charge. iliam is more reserved and kind. he is honest and blunt to a fault but he definitely approaches people with a smile.

special talents: bran is a fantastic soldier. follows every order that is given to him while iliam spends more of his days in books. learning and studying medicines and elixirs.

personal headcanon: bran used to drag iliam out to do play sword fighting but he was never the one to like picking up a sword. preferring his books on history and medicines. usually bran would tease him about such things but iliam never listened to his brother.

Lark had hoped her absence would've gone unnoticed. She certainly didn't expect the king of all people to notice she was gone. She quickly stood from where she was sitting on the filthy cobblestone walkways of the royal kennels. She quickly, and admittedly a bit awkwardly curtised. There was muddy paw prints on her beautiful gown.

How to explain why she was doting on the royal hunting dogs when she was supposed to mingle at the biggest gala in all the land? It was clear as day to Lark: Too many people, too bright, too colorful, too loud. How does she explain that to a king without causing offense...

It’s canon that Dustling , just as a species , are Familiars ( soul-spirits , if you’d rather ) which “are summoned by one in need”.  Their summons can be for A NUMBER OF REASONS , really.  I don’t know that I ever went into detail as to why Dyn’lo was summoned ?  So : he was summoned by a little girl - “Miss Elizabeth” , he called her often - for the sake of guardianship and guidance.  What Dyn’lo did not know , until about a few years later , was that Miss Elizabeth was very , very ill and the prognosis was bleak.  He lost her in her early-twenties and ever since , he has internalized that grief and guilt and felt as if , on some indescribable level , he has FAILED AS A FAMILIAR , thus cannot tolerate the idea of becoming one again.  Hence why he settled for his forging career instead and refuses to speak of his former life.

feeling the movement of her hair, she turned and there was that giant of a man that she loved so much. "cy.." her voice cracked and her hands trembled. she was absolutely nowhere near his size or strength but she still tugged him down so she could hold him close to her. a small sob wracked her body.

"you're here.. you're here.. oh, please don't tell me this is a dream.. please.." fingers digging into his skin and clothes. bringing him closer and closer as if he will slip from her fingers once more.
