     Friendship was a warped term for Rodolphus. It meant responsibility, a higher level of trust that was hard to obtain when it came down to snakes like him. Loyalty laid in all of the heir’s commitments, that when shattered disappeared into thin air like fragile ashes. A knight with fierce loyalty — that’s what Rodolphus presented to people who deserved it — and the Black sisters were no different. Courting and familiarising with the eldest one drew him close to the other tree, especially the middle child. While they could never share the same dark and twisted bond as he did with Bellatrix, the girl was one of the few who never got to see the usual façade Rodolphus put on for entertainment and privacy. Andromeda never really saw the monster either.

                             { perhaps he tried to see her as his own sister, perhaps he tried to                                atone for the sins made towards his brother, though his apathetic                                     heart refused to prove him guilty... ‘the King is always right,                                                 was he not?’ he kept repeating to himself. }

     Sliding into the seat across, his hazel eyes reflected the glimmering green shades of the The Great Lake. Embers were cracking in the common room and despite the cold blood running through the snakes’ blood, it still sharply tingled the skin. There she was, the middle sister, soon to be his family, eyes laid upon books and parchments, quills and a bottle of ink patiently anticipating to paint over the empty canvas beside her hand.

     “Good afternoon.” he greeted her with a regal colour in his voice, “O. W. L.’s are demanding too much attention, I see.” A smile formed on his lips, a strange kind of warmness ( could you call it warmness? ) dripping from his lips. “If not too much.”
