Blackbird Singing: Poems and Lyrics, 1965–1999, Paul McCartney
This is literally the funniest thing he's ever done.

We used to do our fair share of knocking off apples in a nearby orchard – it was called Chinese Orchard and it was in Horseshoe Woods. That day there were four of us altogether – Paul and I, a neighbouring tearaway called Roger the Dodger – and our shaggy dog, Prince.
(Mike McCartney, August 21, 1965, Portrait of Paul for Woman Magazine)
Upstairs on a bus behind a man Talking to himself or so it seemed Repeating names of old comedians And laughing at them... Down the pierhead where the preachers meet Each of them his own imagined crowd Giving us his version of the book That God had written... In a house before they built the road Raising jam jars for a worthy cause Prince the dog with one eye to his name Wants to follow...
- From Paul McCartney’s poem 'In Liverpool', within Blackbird singing: poems and lyrics, 1965-1999
'[Jim McCartney] had us out aged about nine. I was virtually a door-to-door salesman by the time I was twelve. We used to go, 'Knock knock, would you like to join the gardening club?' 'What's in it for me then? Why should I?' 'Well, there's free manure, and you can get seeds at a discount …' and I had this spiel! And the people would go, 'Fuck off! Piss off,' so it was a very good way to learn the territory. "Shit, I'm not going to that house again, he's an old drunk.' [...] For some reason I worked like a bastard when I was a kid! I would be out collecting jam jars door to door, doing Bob-a-Job.'
+
'I'd take a bus to the Pier Head, go on the ferry by myself. I'd take a book of poetry, or a play, or something to read, come back on the ferry, take a bus home. Think of myself as a bit of a poet, observing people, sit on a bench and write a little bit about what I saw. I was very conscious of gathering material. I didn't know then what it would be for. I really fancied myself as an artist. I was preparing. I didn't know how the hell I was ever going to achieve it from my background. People didn't become this. But my mind was full of it, it was an intoxication. There were millions of characters in Liverpool. I lived about a half-hour from the centre and I remember there was a great guy got on the bus once. All he did was recite comedians' names to himself on the packed bus, 'Tony Hancock! Ha ha ha haaa! Tommy Cooper! Ha ha ha, hmmmph!' He was just talking to himself but by the time he got off, the bus was just heaving.'
- Paul within Barry Miles, Many Years From Now (1997)

Summary: An AU where Tim was imprisoned by Black Mask for most of his adolescence, trained to be his successor. His reintroduction to Gotham - and to Gotham's vigilantes - could go a little smoother. At least enough of his morality sticks around that he can probably consider himself safe from being a supervillain. Though he isn't quite sure he qualifies for "superhero," either.

Vivia never struck me as a guy who cared much about material possessions. However, knowing that Vivia thought that Kanai Ward would be where he would take his own life, him not bringing anything with him other than the clothes on his back and the self-defense tools in his pockets hit me like 'oh… oh no.'
He may've entered Kanai Ward with nothing, but he did leave with something: the will to live and a promise to keep.

@themxtleycrew asked: 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Song Associations | Currently Accepting.
1. Zombie by The Cranberries
Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we, mistaken?
This one refers to the Ishvalan War. The first verse in particular pairs well with how the war started: the child Envy killed to start the war in the first place. Riza would consider herself the zombie in this instance: the mindless killer who followed orders and continued the violence.
2. jealousy, jealousy by Olivia Rodrigo
And I see everyone gettin' all the things I want I'm happy for them, but then again, I'm not
Underneath all the dry wit and stoicism is a person who compares herself to others a lot. She is frequently jealous of others, especially femme-presenting people: that they can be comfortable in their bodies, date, be in relationships, and so on. Because of the tattoo, she does not feel comfortable in her body, which leads her to be uncomfortable in many social situations. Dating is off the table due to that and her job. But, does she acknowledge this part of her brain? Not a chance.
3. Hit Me With Your Best Shot by ADONA
Before I put another notch in my lipstick case You better make sure you put me in my place
While I love the original by Pat Benatar, this cover fits Riza more. It's slower, lining up with the time it takes for a sniper to set up their shot and fire. It also has some excellent percussion, emphasizing the quickness Riza has when it comes to shooting her sidearms. Truly, this is one of my "Riza Hawkeye is a badass" songs.
4. Abraham's Daughter by Arcade Fire
Then the angel asked her what her Name was she said "I have none" Then he asked how can this be My father never gave me one
This song has been on my Riza playlist for a long time, so I might as well ramble about it because it is layered (like many of Arcade Fire's songs). It was written specifically for The Hunger Games, and it was the first track. With this song in particular, it talks of the Biblical story of Abraham and Isaac. The story of Isaac in the Bible is that God commands Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, his son. Before Abraham kills his son, an angel stops him. A ram appears, which is slaughtered in Isaac's place, and Abraham is commended for his obedience.
Obviously, the song connects it to The Hunger Games and the characters. However, I connect it to Riza and her story. The entire song paints a vivid telling of her story as I see it: the father who didn't see or care much for her, but saw a potential heir in Roy (who he effectively doomed), and the defiant child. Then, there's another layer as she got older: the Homunculi. She saw them gathering sacrifices, and she did everything in her power to try and stop them. She raised her weapons, and she said, "No."
All in all, The Hunger Games soundtracks slap. I highly recommend them.
5. Fireflies by Binky
I just wanna be stronger I won't last any longer Temptress is my hunger Show me to the light
Another song that's sat in my Riza playlist for eons. It tells Riza's entire story: her relationship with both parents, her resilience despite her rough upbringing and the war, her relationship with Roy, and how she finds her freedom in her calling to better the country. She is a character of resilience through and through, and that is one thing I love about her.
