Peppered moth - Mothtober #31

This moth specie actually started white, splattered with black spots. But in the 1800s in UK, during the industrialisation era, trees started getting covered in soot. The moths with more black spots were able to camouflage better and generation by generation, a fully black morph of this specie was born. It's called: industrial melanism. Since then as the environmental norms have improved, the white morphs population increased. It lives in many different places: China, Russia, Mongolia, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Europe and North America, between late May and August.

About the drawing

With this superb moth, Mothtober ends! I chose to to the black morph to challenge myself working with only black and greys, and also because it's Halloween/Samhain.

This was an epic moth, I'll do a proper recap soon but I wanted to say

Spontaneous gift for @south-sea

When i saw Black Moth's mobian form, i can't get rid of that pic before my eyes. Maikroft, despite the fact that he can live in harsh conditions, likes soft things. And that's fur looks so soft, that he fights with himself for not to touch it. Considering the fact that he often doesn't respect other's personal boundaries.

/I like both mobian and original form of Black Moth. Too good :3/

(and…. Maikroft need a new one mobian form. Hedgehog is good, but i have another idea)

The black moth is 16 inches tall. The wingspan is about 47 to 48 inches long. The moth is made out of faux fur.
