SUBLIME CINEMA #673 - THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES
Criminally difficult to find a good transfer of this film - Criterion has ignored It, and it's unusual for a movie that once took home eight Oscars to have been so forgotten. But this is a profound, understated masterpiece, with some incredible cinematography by Citizen Kane's Gregg Toland.

I did a lil deep dive on the practical and symbolic execution of one of my favourite props of all time: a glass of milk!

When the world is impossible to understand, when people let me down, when I despair or need comfort or want to learn, I often turn to cinema.
I started this shot study a few weeks ago; much has changed, much remains the same.
Never be passive about people dying, especially when it's the State killing them, especially when it's your supposed leaders enabling it.
Speak out, speak to those you know and love, resist. And among it, find more to love, and ways to experience and exhibit righteous anger, but also joy.
