Extinct Disney Parks and Attractions tournament round 2: Group B
Reminder, you don't have had to experience any of the attractions/experiences to vote! Just read in the info and/or watch the vid, then vote for which you wish you would have experienced more/which sounds cooler!
Videos and propaganda/info dumping under cut
Cinderella Castle Dream Lights: Magic Kingdom (2007-2019)
Propaganda:
So these were the annual holiday lights they put on the castle, and my gosh, the photos do not do them justice! They are absolutely gorgeous and just SO magical!!! They used Covid as an excuse for them not coming back after the pandemic, but now that its over, they are keeping these lame dim projections. Now, normally i like the castle projections, but NOT FOR CHRISTMAS! It cannot near compare to the absolute magic of those dream lights! It makes me so sad!

And for comparison, this is it this now/this year:
youtube
Toontown Fair: Magic Kingdom (1996-2011)
Propaganda:
Was replaced by Storybook Circus, which will never come CLOSE to Toontown fair! Toontown fair had SO much charm, and the unique Country home/fair aspect of it made it different than Disneyland's toontown! It just had such a fun vibe and I miss it so much! Especially Minnie's house! And the Barnstormer theming was WAY better and more immersive, you 'crashed' through barn and animatronic chickens would lose their crap! it was great lol

Didn't Wanna Feel Old in 2023? Sucks to be You!
Happy 2023 everybody! It's a new year meaning I've got new goals to meet. Goals like finally publishing something, setting up commissions so people can pay me to do what I love, cross-posting between my account here and on deviantART, summoning more kaijus just so they can play elaborate games of poker, y'know, all that good stuff. It also means the return of my 'list of things that have reached a milestone anniversary' list. However, it seems like I've been doing this for so long that these lists have in fact reached their own milestone. From what I could tell, this is the fifth year of my doing this, at least on deviantART. If that doesn't make you feel right from the gate, I present the following:
If I don't mention this my buddy Volts48 won't let me rest; the highly influential sci-fi movie Metropolis turns 100 years old this year, meaning it is now in the public domain. I plan to take full advantage of this fact later, but for now I have the rest of this list to get to...

ok metaphor that came to me the other day:
cultural appropriation is not: you are invited to a birthday party. the host welcomes you in. you play games and have fun with people there. you sing happy birthday to celebrate the person's birthday, and then you eat cake with everyone
cultural appropriation is: you show up to a birthday party uninvited. you don't know who's birthday it is or how old they're turning. you cut yourself the first slice of cake before the candles are lit, and maybe take a couple pieces extra for your friends. there's a pile of presents so you take one for the road, because 'it's not like anyone will notice'
cultural appropriation could be: you get home from the party you were invited to. you had so much fun you decide to have your own birthday party! it's gonna be once a month and have cheese curds instead of cake. you brag that you know everything about birthdays and your cheese is authentic from birthdayland

In 1988, the Magic Kingdom opened a temporary new land to celebrate Mickey's 60th birthday - Mickey's Birthdayland. The popularity of flagship characters in a single location prompted Walt Disney World to extend the life of the area - rechristening the land as Mickey's Starland in 1990. Stop looking at Gadget - who was prominently featured in Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, part of "The Disney Afternoon" block of animated shows. No, instead focus on the Mickey's Starland trash can behind her, sporting a white, pink, and yellow color scheme beckoning you to "Waste Please" via a very cartoonish font. Bonus: The can also features stars -- because Mickey's Starland, get it? Starland would be briefly renamed to Mickey's Toyland for the holidays in 1995. It would eventually would give away to Mickey's Toontown Fair in 1996 - which itself would morph into Fantasyland's Storybook Circus area in 2012. // Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom, Mickey's Starland, 1992 [Source: RetroWDW.
