Something in TK’s voice has him pausing and listening a little bit more intently to the background on the phone call. He can hear a soft rustling, and his eyes widen as he slows the car down at a red light. “TK …” “Yeah?” “Are you fucking naked right now?” “Not from the waist up,” TK replies, and Carlos can hear the shit-eating grin on his face. “Oh, yeah, it was really your shoulders I was worried about being bare.” Carlos swears and shakes his head. “I love you, but I’m at work.” “I know. All sexy in your uniform. Do they have to be so tight? I’ve seen other cops, I don’t think it has to be so tight. You just want everyone to admire your biceps.” “Oh my God,” Carlos mutters. He stays halted at the light and grabs the AirPods he’d put into the car’s console, taking a moment to put one into his ear. He’d been bored minutes ago and now he’s thankful he’s alone in the car, but still doesn’t want to risk a passerby overhearing their conversation. TK exhales softly and hums, and Carlos nearly cringes; the addition of the headphones instead of the phone’s tinny speaker makes it feel like TK is right beside him, humming into his ear. “TK,” Carlos says. The light turns green and he doesn’t have a follow up, really. He just feels on principle like he should be putting up something of a fight, even though nothing is stopping him from hanging up and they both know he’s not going to do that. “I’m wearing one of your hoodies,” TK says. “And nothing else?” A giggle comes like music over the line. “Nothing else.”

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Oh, for sure! I feel like every fic writer has them, good and bad. Especially if I find myself writing a lot on a particular day, I'll often reuse similar phrases/words. I do think I have similar themes in a lot of my fics. I tend to write a lot of fluff and banter (which I think I'm pretty good at).

31. Do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?

The characters, I think. Sometimes I'll have a vague idea of a plot, but most of my ideas are based on a scene of the characters and then I have to build the whole fic plot around that which can be a problem lmao.

TK bites at the top of Carlos' left pec, muffling soft moans into his skin as Carlos fucks into him. The right side is covered by his husband's hand, blunt nails digging in almost viciously.

Carlos’ chest has been bruised for weeks at this point- the second one mark fades, TK is replacing it with another. Every time the heavy fabric of his vest rubs against a bruise, he winces, and he's fairly certain his co-workers are starting to notice. He's barely even allowed to wear a shirt at home- every time he tries, TK looks like a dog whose bone was stolen. Even when he does manage to put a shirt on, TK still pulls at his nipples, or squeezes his pecs, or even just stares.  

He's always either sucking, biting, licking, staring at, squeezing, poking, or resting his head on Carlos' chest. And, frankly, Carlos is a bit worried that he'll never be able to put on a shirt without wincing again. 

Not, of course, that Carlos doesn't enjoy his husband's obsession. Anything that has TK dragging him into bed, shoving him against a wall, or otherwise demanding immediate fucking is positive in his books, even if his dick is sometimes a bit worn out from how often he's been coming lately.

🌧️ - what's your favourite thing to do on rainy days?

i love when it rains as i'm falling asleep, it's one of my favourite sounds! but if it's the middle of the day (on a weekend) i'll light a scented candle, make a coffee, curl up in an armchair and write fic with my cat awkwardly squashed in beside me/half on my lap.

❄️ - what's my favourite season?

definitely early autumn when it's still really warm but not boiling hot, and the leaves are starting to change colour. i love the colours of autumn/fall.

A snippet for WIP Wednesday:

TK sniffs and takes another sip, swallowing again before he looks back up and says, “Did Billy talk to you guys?”

“We said we’d talk to you first,” Nancy says. “If heading out on the road right now is too much, we won’t do it.”

TK wants to point out that it doesn’t seem like they have much choice in the matter. He wants to repeat some of the things he’d read in headlines on Billy’s computer. He wants to tell his band – his family – that he’ll never let them down again as long as he lives, and this rescheduled tour is his first step in proving it to them, whether he’s emotionally ready for it or not.

He doesn’t say any of those things. Instead, he grins at them and says, “Two hometown shows to start? Maybe a European leg if our fans haven’t completely ditched us? Sounds fun.”

“Are you sure?” Marjan asks.

“Hell yeah,” TK tells her. He’s not completely positive he means it, but he wants to mean it, and he figures that’s almost the same thing.

“Did Billy tell you about – ” Paul begins, and TK interrupts as he remembers.

“Oh my God, the country bumpkin that’s gonna open for us?”

“I don’t think he’s a bumpkin,” Marjan laughs. “I listened to a bunch of his songs, they’re good.”

“Not exactly similar to our sound.” Nancy smirks. “He’s hot, though. I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and it’s possible I’m in love. With him and his bass player, she’s hot, too.”

“They’re family friendly,” TK says, sinking back against the cushions. “Apparently that’s what the label wants, since I’m a liability, now.”

“Maybe it’ll be good, his fans will come and maybe like our music, too.”

“Are we gonna have to like … tone it down, though?” Nancy asks with her nose wrinkled. “Did Billy give you more info on what the label said?”

Rolling his eyes, TK asserts, “If he thinks we’re gonna stop being us on stage, he’s got another thing coming.”

“I know the two of you are not going to throw a wrench in this whole thing just because you won’t get to grind all nasty on stage anymore,” Paul tells them, eyes travelling back and forth between TK and Nancy and shaking his head fondly.

“Nobody even said anything about that, did they?” Marjan asks, and TK shakes his head. “Okay, so stop freaking out. Nobody’s saying we can’t be us. The fans are gonna show up to see our show, like they always do. Reyes and his band will just also attract a bunch of new faces. I don’t really see any downsides.”

“I guess,” TK concedes, understanding that on paper, she isn’t wrong. He still shares a look with Nancy overtop of Paul’s head, and can’t say he’s feeling any more certain about this than he was the other day when Billy informed him of it.

A rumble of thunder, an echo from the storm that ended up being the city’s saving grace, is what pulls them apart. Carlos looks at him, looks practically right into his soul, and lingers a moment longer to stroke his thumb along TK’s cheek before he digs out his keys and unlocks the car. He’d had to park on the street, and TK spares one last glance over his shoulder before he follows his husband past the sidewalk. Tommy’s house is warm, and inviting, and the golden glow of lamp light shines just barely through the curtains. His fingers tremble a little as he aches with something he can’t name, but he smooths his palms down the front of his jeans and smiles when he realizes Carlos is holding open the passenger door for him.

“Thank you, baby,” TK says, scratching lightly over Carlos’ forearm as he ducks into the car. He lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding as he’s suddenly surrounded by Carlos—his reusable coffee thermos in the cupholder and his cologne heady and lingering on the seats—and he lets his head fall back as he settles.

He watches as Carlos moves around the hood of the car and spares a moment to put his bag and jacket in the backseat before moving in behind the wheel. TK takes in everything: the flex of his biceps, the way the light shifts through the window and catches in his liquid brown eyes, the delicate shadows over his beautiful face. TK swallows. He almost never saw Carlos again, a fact that hits him squarely in the chest.

This... is not from my TK and Sophie fic, but something that was inspired by a mutual's fan art on here -

“Please be careful,” Carlos said, handing the keys over. “What is my car?” “Not half as pretty as the man who owns it,” TK said, batting his eyelashes flirtatiously.

Carlos crossed his arms. “TK…”

“Fine”. TK sighed dramatically. “Your car is an eight-year-old piece of heavy machinery in good condition with good tire pressure, two windshield wipers and you expect it to come home tonight the same way”.

“TK, have you still not replaced the wiper that flew off your car?” Carlos exclaimed. “Baby, we’re talking about your car,” TK said, taking his husband’s hands and squeezing them. “And remember, my car is being fixed right now”.

“That storm was almost a month ago!” his husband exclaimed. “You drove around with only one windshield wiper for almost a month?” “Maybe,” TK said as he looked away. “But,” he added brightly, “no storms are projected for today, so we should be good. I’ll text you when I get to her place”. He planned to peck Carlos on the cheek and dash out the door, but his husband saw this coming a mile away and wrapped his arms around TK’s waist.

“Not so fast, you,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to TK’s temple. “What is something you’re not going to do in the Camaro today?”

“Eat Cheetos,” TK answered. Carlos nodded expectantly. “Or…?” “Or nachos”. TK added. “Yes”. Carlos nodded again. “Or tacos. Or tater tots, or anything that you would eat and then wipe your hands on the seats”. “Not like it’s a super common occurrence”. TK muttered mutinously as he headed for the door. “But one snackcident, and I’m marked for life”. “Yes, I want you to text me when you get there”. Carlos said, opening and leaning on the door frame. “And no, snackcident is not a word”. TK whirled around the in the doorway. “If Jake Peralta says it, then it is”. “If Captain Holt would call him on it, then no, it isn’t”. Carlos replied.
