If you're still taking mortasheen questions - Can you tell us any lore stuff about the ultimate bioconstructs like hestermoan?
Mortasheen's original three "legendaries," Hestermoan, Tormanshee and Mothneaser, all have names that are anagrams of "Mortasheen," which itself is the name of a disease spread by the Nuckelavee in folklore. They were imagined to be three "kaiju" that would be completely frightening and disturbing with none of the whimsy or silliness of other Mortasheen monsters, and also broadly represent their three common categories: a physical attacker, a mental attacker, and a bioweaponry wielder. Hestermoan is the biggest and strongest and basically Mortasheen's "Godzilla," Tormanshee was meant to have a nasty Silent Hill kind of vibe and spreads "madness" while Mothneaser collects your blood and turns it into other monsters. They're so old by now, they conflict with a lot of the "style guide" i have in my head. I know I just said that was kind of their point, but there's other internal guidelines I impose on the setting that I'd like them to follow by the time I introduce them into the RPG, and they might change a bit drastically, but hopefully they'll keep the same vibe.
Tormanshee in particular was based on one of the very oldest Mortasheen monsters, a simple embryo in a floating bubble, which I then brought back as the "tormite" here and tied them together, also giving Tormite one huge open eye so it can also read as a floating eyeball.
Now for the RPG I'm using Tormite again as the lowest-level and most common psychokinetic creature, though I turned it back into a sleeping embryo thing with its eyes closed:
If you liked the "simultaneous eyeball" gimmick, don't worry! I'm doing a thing with that! I don't know what yet, but one idea is that they kind of "wake up" and then they start to evolve various forms from there.
I think Tormanshee will still connect with them somehow, too, like their "termite queen," but my design ideas for it are a whole lot more elaborate. They still have the "silent hill pregnancy demon" vibe but with a whole lot more body, kind of from a "what if this was also an ultraman kaiju or an evangelion angel" angle.
The more current concepts I had for Hestermoan are odd enough I don't want to spoil it, and it was originally going to be included in the first book - sorta - but we're holding off on it for now and may release them as free supplemental monsters. I also kind of like the idea of doing so because it has a similar feeling to Mew and other "secret" legendary Pokemon. Maybe their first release would even be through a really silly and gimmicky exclusive medium, before they get released as free public downloads.
My newer concepts for Mothneaser are all over the place, but it still has nothing whatsoever to do with moths. I just really like the sound of the name. All three still have the lore that they wake up only when the city's existence is threatened. This is monumentally rare because the city is the size of a continent and it's alive enough to regenerate from almost anything.

A new Mortasheen Fanmon, either named Knucklcuster (Gn. Custer from the civil war) or Knucklcluster (those spikes can be fired off like missiles)
Probably a Bioconstruct, might become a Joke with some modifications

12th of August: Colonial Yellow Madrepore
Here is a coral. While I haven’t found an English common name, translating the Italian one tells us this is the Colonial Yellow Madrepore (Cladopsammia rolandi). They‘re from the Mediterranean Sea, where there hasn’t been a lot of research on them, but they have been reported as common in certain areas [1].
While they were first described in 1897, it wasn’t until 2008 that they were recorded in the Adriatic Sea, the space in between Italy and the Balkans. However this was likely not due to any colonisation by them, but rather them having been overlooked in the past [2]. They can grow at depths of 10-50 metres, and are found in caves, overhangs, and cliffs [1]. They will also very happily settle in so-called bioconstructions made of living and dead Neopycnodonte cochlear, a type of bivalve, provided that said settling ground is in the shade [3].

Initially I was gonna talk about this in my fandom list post, but figured it needs its own separate post because it's a doozy.
Have you heard of Mortasheen? Now you have! The official website is here, but if you're short on time I'll give you a rundown. Think D&D plus Pokémon, but with wacky mutant monsters and way fewer rules. It's an open-ended RPG with endless possibilities. Take your squad of weirdos across a surprisingly ecologically diverse world in the distant future, and try not to die while doing it. (No pressure, though; if you die you can just come back as a zombie, although there are some downsides to that...)
And now for a summary of each monster class!
Bioconstructs: The absolute base class of monsters, this is a broad category encompassing man-made abominations that don't fit into the more specific man-made classes. Just about every function you can think of is covered here— it's got fighters, sentries, laborers, livestock, entertainers— you name it, there's probably a Bioconstruct for it.
Arthropoids: Bug people!!! Possibly the best class overall, everyone else go home. But yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like. This specific category of man-made monsters consists of arthropods (and sometimes panarthropods) combined with human genetics, resulting in some versatile and badass creatures.
Vampirics: Ah, our first class not spawned by human shenanigans! These ancient abyssal assassins have risen up to stake their claim on our world, and they're not nice. But who knows, maybe you'll get one on your side?
Botanicals: These odd organisms of man-made origin are mixes of plant, fungus, and animal. Their unique physiology makes them quite resilient to physical damage, but be sure to keep them away from fire.
Ectosaurs: Powerful ghostly entities of uncertain origin. Most of them will only see you as prey, but if you play your cards right, they can make great allies.
Zombiespawn: Remember those zombies I mentioned? Sometimes they try to make babies, and usually that doesn't go too well, and we get these gross things as a result. What else would you expect from a barely-functioning body in a state of perpetual decay and regrowth?
Jokers: Despite not having man-made origins, these guys have a conspicuous resemblance to our idea of clowns and related goofy concepts. Oh, I'm sure it's just a coincidence... still, these gas-filled tricksters are a force to be reckoned with! It's better to have them as allies than enemies.
Unknown: Hey, where did these come from??? Nobody really knows, but they're strange and often dangerous. Watch your back.
Devilbirds: Ancient relics modeled after common human vices. Personally one of my least favorite classes due to (in my opinion) a lackluster execution of an interesting concept. Eh, they can't all be winners. In any case, don't get your hopes up for recruiting one of these monstrosities; most of them are pretty heartless!
Biomecha: Plain old Bioconstructs are sooooo last millenia... combining flesh with machinery is where it's at! That's what some monster trainers are saying, anyway. Time will tell if they're right.
Wormbrains: Now, this one is my actual least favorite class. It's just flesh puppets controlled by brain flukes. Credit where credit is due, the designs of some of these monsters are really cool (there's even some Junji Ito references in there)! I'm just not a fan of the concept.
Fectoids: These neat little guys are the ultimate bioweapons, able to shift between multicellular monster and microscopic swarm, taking on whichever state best suits the situation. It's fascinating! Hard to appreciate the ingenuity when you're being infected, though.
and last but not least...
Garbage: Well, some people would say they're the least, but I for one have a special place in my heart for these children of pollution and experiments-gone-wrong. We don't have mistakes, just happy accidents! Besides, this class holds perhaps my favorite Mortasheen monster of all time...
the Agblap! Lookit this little guy!!! Ain't it just the cutest thing?
Now that you're familiar with the basics, why not take a look at the website and see which monsters are your favorites? You can also check out the creator's main website for all kinds of interesting content! I don't know how to wrap up this post lol bye

GUSS: Humanity always dreamed of stepping out among the stars to find other intelligent life. Yet by the middle of the 22nd century it began to become clear we wouldn't need to venture far. Indeed, by the time humanity had managed to begin setting foot on Mars in earnest we had elevated several other species to tentative personhood and developed true artificial intelligence.
By the time we had endured the Promethean Crises and were prepared to find our fate under stranger suns, "humanity" had become a strained and outdated concept, ill fit to encompass the children of Sol. Not only the manifold terragen, the humans and the shivans and the scions, the uplifts and AGIs, but the Europans and their bioconstructs, the uplifted fauna of Titan and Venus, the myriad higher dimensional beings revealed by the Promethean Guidestones (and manifested by Countenance's OVERTHRONE tech) , even the enigmatic Anakim (or "greys") native to, or at least residing on, a rogue planet in eccentric orbit around Sol.
While hardly whole and united at any point, there nevertheless exists a sort of strange kinship or solidarity between the Solarian/Soligen peoples that has only grown stronger as they've stepped into the wider galactic stage. In the face of a frightening, crowded galaxy they might not be the best, but they're (almost) family

the ruin in the city
The ruin in the city
The earth in the city
The ancient in the city
The craft in the city
Pottery in the city of today
What does it mean
To be, to dwell within these concrete cubicles
How does this shape our lives
Progress and modernity
have led us to this moment
Inhuman transgression
disconnected from nature
Living together
stress and decay
Technology and hierarchy
To bring the clay into the city
as an outsider element
To go up to the hill
as a distant observation
To relate
inside
and outside.
What is far?
And what is close?
What is urban?
and what isnt?
And what should be protected?
How many wetlands
How many hills and territories
should be taken care of?
How many places will be destroyed
by building companies?
How many parks and hills will decrease their nature
because of human greed?
How do we rethink craft
and in which way
shall we protect
rescue
transform
The soil breathes
It makes the earth and the trees breathe
Soil is never waste
It nourishes the muddy forests filled with flowers.
How do we save our hills from drying and dying?
How do we discover matter? Without grabbing all of it?
We shall be cautious.
We shall investigate different territories.
By gathering different clays
we would be investigating difference.
Where will this reflection and discovery lead us?
And to create, in which sense?
To ramble is to feel diversity. Meticulous diversity.
The colors that we find, how do they speak?
What do they say?
Sounds of mud,
voices of clay.
Each clay will have a different sound
when is becomes ceramics.
Maybe we could feel the sound of ceramics
in different territories, like little paths
coming together.
What does it mean to find our own material?
To grab one must first give thanks. To ask permission.
To be transformed in the process.
To turn the soil into something that will join us, somehow.
How do we colectivize processes?
Now I know
clay may exist everywhere,
in each path I walk.
In each crack I see through the concrete.
There it is.
Cities could be made out of clay.
We have to go up the hills.
To walk a little bit more.
To get out of the plain.
To become an outsider.
To bring the mud into the city.
Or to inhabit the mud in its own place.
How does mud gets burnt? And why?
What is ceramics? And what is it for?
How do we build?
How do we ritualize?
How do we dwell?
How do we coexist with nature?
How do I take roots with the craft?
How do I separate, expand, or link?
What has Architecture to do with all of this?
Spaciality, body.
Bioconstruction.
Organic, sustainable methodologies.
Permaculture.
Ecopolitics.
Sustainable design methodologies.
Research and archive methodologies.
A record of territories and nature.
Cartographies of cities and nature.
The significance of the hills.
Cycles.
To go out to the field means to go down on nature.
To submerge into distances and times of yore.
To get out of the city.
It means to submerge into the deep silence.
Outside of mechanical noise.
To live in the trees.
To listen to the clouds moving.
But you can still hear the city from afar.
I went to Quilpué with Paz, we went down to the route of El Retiro.
We walked through the estuary of Quilpué.
Then we started walking up to the hill.
A mound between houses, dissapearing behind the cliffs.
bycicle routes. Rocks filled with graffitis. Machines.
Abandoned trucks. A crack on the hill was the first thing I saw.
And a sign that read: Private property. Do not cross.
To the side, an upward path.
We walked 10 minutes and arrived to a cave of hawthorns.
We hid from the sun and ate oranges.
We sat and I noticed right there was the cracked mud.
I was standing on the very clay. And many dry leaves.
The autumn was ending. Almost no rain. Everything was dry.
My friend started singing to the waters. Giving thanks the Pacha.
There she was, on the dry mud. We kept going up. I saw orange curves.
I started recording her, walking barefoot. She did come here a few times before,
now she wanted to express herself through her body. We found a vein and my friend
submerged herself through the crack on the land, sliding across. Inside the land.
There it was, the clay. Tactile matter. So dry, so rough, but sensitive.
After this profound greeting, inside and outside, I submerged and greeted too.
I asked for permission to the land, and grabbed what I could.
Maybe I will come back, to touch the soil once again.
My friend and I walked until midnight and glanced at the city from up the hill.
We saw the light, we felt a calm darkness. The songs walked with us. The rattle of the hoof.
We gave thanks to the dusk and the being.

One of the main problems when reactivating rural properties anywhere in the country is that they do not usually have any building with minimum dimensions to allow them to accommodate large groups of people on an occasional basis. In our case, we have a farmhouse in ruins whose rehabilitation will take years to complete, so we cannot yet use this infrastructure. That is why, in parallel to said rehabilitation, we have decided to work on the construction of a multipurpose space that can be built fairly quickly. After giving some though we have opted for the design of a building with a central symmetrical plan, made of materials based on bioconstruction and whose special attraction will be a reciprocal wooden structure that will allow us to avoid placing any columns in the center of the space. In the photos you can see the first sketches of the design.

Hey Bog! If you are still answering Mortasheen questions and such from a week or so ago, can a rare few Garbage-class monsters still 'evolve' in the full product? c:
It was upgraded to basically a "recipe formula," where to evolve one, it needs to absorb at least two others. This spares me the sense of obligation to make evolutions for each and every one, and instead I can make big beasts that feel equally related to several!
I'm keeping the existing evolved forms, but from here on out I'll come up with formulas that make sense for them or add new creatures to fill gaps. We also changed the class name to "Biogarbage" to make it more distinct and to parallel the Bioconstruct class. This is one new species I drew, I don't wanna spoil everything else, but it combines with two others now to make Garboid, the new design for which has a head armored with rusty metal :)
