Background:

Rosie was born in a nice middle class home. With a father, mother, an older sister, and a younger sister. However, her father wanted a boy specifically to go hunting with and one day when she was five years old she peeked interest and at age five he started teaching her to hunt and even do taxidermy. Which would eventually cause her desire to make fun costumes.

Over time though she started to hear things that weren’t real, isolate herself, or even feel a strange sense of paranoia which was an old issue even at a young age, but if grew worse and worse as she got older. Her parents took her to a few doctors which would eventually lead to the answer. She has schizophrenia and would get medications as well as seeing a specialist.

This disturbed her mother so much so that she almost forbid her father from continuing to teach her how to hunt. Which her father refused and continued to teach her which caused a dent in their relationship.

When Rosie was 13 her dad was tragically killed in an animal attack. He was so mangled that the casket had to be closed. Only her mother saw his remains. Due to this her mother became even more distant. However, this caused Rosie to feel more paranoid due to thinking something else could have killed her father that wasn’t a bear, wolf, or anything they claimed. But she also started hearing her dad speak to her which she ignored.

This was when she started to get close with her younger sister who was eight years younger than she was, but this was also the time where she would fight with her older sister that would result in gnarly disputes. Which resulted with them being yelled at by their mother and at times even hit.

As for school for the most part it was okay. All up until she was 17-18 years old senior year. She was in a secret relationship with a classmate Terra. Who she started becoming closer with due to going to karate together. However, one day Rosie left a sweet note and it was found by the popular girl which she asked Terra what happened and well…she labeled Rosie as a pervert and other heinous things. Which resulted her being bullied intensely and her mother was called.

Her mother belittled her in front of the administration while she remained silent. After that her own older sister began to belittle and insult her. Even calling her a slur one time. The only one who was still her family was her younger sister. Over time though her mother got sick so when her older sister was fulfilling her dreams Rosie was covering for her mom at the grocery store and her younger sister delivered newspaper.

When Rosie was 21 she attended a Halloween party outside of town which resulted in her drinking and having sex. However, she kept hearing things and her paranoia was intense. She thought it was just her condition and it was, but she also had a guttural feeling that was different. She went home early and was immediately shocked to see the door had been broken into with claw marks.

She walks in to see her older sister dead and mutilated. Rosie then sees her younger sister also being killed and eaten by something she could barely muster. Regardless she attacked and lashed out on the creature. It took the rest of the night to early morning to kill it and nearly dying in the process.

Rosie wakes up in a hospital alongside her mom who was also injured and a special government agency who work with strange cases threatened her as well as give her hush money which she takes due to thinking of her mother. Even though she is beyond angry and devastated.

Shortly after that though her mother died of a broken heart now she owns her childhood home by herself. And works at the local hunting shop sense. However, she is afraid more of the creatures that killed her family will return. So next time she will be ready.

crazy how the sanshee plush is one of the few actual direct confirmations on what a non-act 2 Natsuki’s home life is like because of how cagey she is on literally everything. Like this isn’t anything surprising or something you wouldn’t be able to extrapolate from the games but unlike everything else we know about her the implications are right there on the tin.

🥪 Introducing... Door2Door! 🥪

Door2Door stars twenty year old possum Gigi Dempster, who lives in a rather ramshackle, podunk town in Vermont called Bendersville. After sending numerous job applications all over town with no word back, she finally lands herself a delivery driver position at an unassuming locally-owned sandwich restaurant named Dine 'n Dash. With no prior experience in the art of crafting a mighty fine sandwich or running a delivery route, Gigi is strapped in to experience the whirlwind of a first time food service job firsthand, and in an unpredictable town like Bendersville, quite literally anything can happen.

At last, witness unveiling of my latest project I've spent the last month conceptualizing, Door2Door! What once came about as a silly idea of basing a project after an inner-city delivery driver inspired after a certain gameplay section in Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, it has since blossomed into one of my dearest passion projects yet!

Though, before I get into any further detail behind Door2Door and its creation, I must stress— none of the above five images hail from a lost late nineties/early 2000s Cartoon Network show, and if by chance any of them were enough to fool you into thinking they were, then that just means I achieved what I set out for! 💙✨

Now, about a month ago, I'd been watching a retrospective on the critically un-acclaimed Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, a game I had growing up. It's important for me to mention that I had seen and personally played the aforementioned gameplay section before, though for some reason seeing it again struck me with a brilliant project idea.

Anyone who's been following me for at least a year knows that I've designed a cavalcade of candied characters for my own arcade game concept, Rascal, and initially my idea for Door2Door— which I also called Project JJ (In reference to the sandwich chain Jimmy John's)— was to give it a plot simple enough to translate into an arcade game.

The idea was that you played as a plucky delivery driver who rides through the streets of a seedy city to deliver a food order to the... er, order-ee. But your progress would be impeded by a fiendish gang of mobster alley cats who are after your sandwiches, so there would have definitely been a large cartoony element to the gameplay loop.

I drew concept art for Door2Door's protagonist, then known as Marcy, though I really wasn't vibing with either drawing. For one, making the protagonist a cat seemed a bit overdone, and I already have a cat character who's name rhymes with Marcy, so that had to go. More so, I also couldn't settle on a good spriting style, which prompted me to rethink the whole project.

Well, there is a general aura of cartooniness to Door2Door, I thought, why not just embrace that vibe whole-heartedly and reshape the project into a long-lost late nineties cartoon?

I did like the idea of having an excuse to drawing more animation cels, though if I was going to make Door2Door into something resembling a cel-animated cartoon, I was prepared to go the full distance in nailing that aesthetic, in the form of how characters are designed and the way I go about drawing each screenshot.

For those unfamiliar with cel animation, essentially it can be described as a traditional form of animation and involves objects— usually characters— being hand-inked and painted on clear celluloid sheets and placed over painted backgrounds.

Above, I've provided a visual for what a standalone 'cel' from Door2Door would look like, coupled with a hand-painted background. When overlaid on top of one another...

... you would get this! This is exactly how cartoons were animated up until the era of digital inking and coloring... but that begs the question. How am I achieving a hand-drawn and painted aesthetic if everything I've shown so far has been drawn digitally?

I have my ways! It involves a lot of studying how individual cels of animation look, and taking note of recurring hallmarks; grainy textures, paint blemishes, drop shadows, etc. Above, I've assembled a small gif of my process in composing a screenshot for Door2Door, from lineart to final product!

So, that all should loosely explain it; Door2Door is what would happen if I were in charge of a late nineties Cartoon Network show, and what you've seen here is merely the beginning. Going forward, I will be posting art of Door2Door's main cast with some additional character information and concept art for each one, though for the time being, enjoy all five art pieces I've supplied for this post— they are perhaps the biggest works of mine yet this year! 💙🏳️‍⚧️✨

So on a slip up, he accidentally calls him Fuckboy instead, and has to continually use it.

I see this going one of two ways depending on how old Bruce is - if it's teenage angsty Bruce then there will be a fight which will result in Bruce getting his ass kicked bc teenage Bruce was just constantly looking for a fight but couldn't hope to win against Damian - if its Bruce post training/ early batman Bruce then he will recognise that Damian looks a mini talia and realise this kid is his son or maybe a younger sibling of talias either way calling him a fuckboy is definitely deserved

A.P. Bio was just added to Netflix and I was wondering if 1. you've seen it 2. what you thought of it and 3. if you'd recommend it to a Sunny fan (tumblr version, lol). Love your blog btw, hope you're doing well!

I am one of those people who watched literally every NBC/ABC sitcom when they premiered in the 10s, so I actually started A.P. Bio live from its first season not because of Glenn/Sunny but simply for the fact that it was an NBC Sitcom, lmfao. I watched it as it was airing from 2018-2021 and have never rewatched a single episode, so my perspective is maybe a little dated and definitely relative...

My thoughts on the show as a whole is that its a very average NBC sitcom. I did think it was a fun weekly watch for what it was, but of the 5 or-so active NBC comedies I watched around AP Bio's run, it was my least favourite. The characters were just not that compelling to me, so if the plot wasn't gripping it felt like a waste of my time, and I think the insistence to keep the same cast of students really held back the potential longevity and growth of the show.

I will say I was a little biased going into the show, because I loved the show Bad Education (a 2012 BBC sitcom) and when I saw the ads for AP Bio I was convinced it was going to be quite similar. It definitely is a similar formula and idea, but the vibes are a bit different and I felt like Jack was Alfie, just more miserable (and that made me not really like Glenn, lmfaooo), so it put me down a peg on enjoying it as a unique idea (which might be why I never found the characters very compelling).

If you're a fan of Sunny, AP Bio is another thing, really truly, but if you're a fan of Glenn and enjoy watching typical NBC/FOX/ABC sitcoms, you'll probably enjoy it!
