Azriel x reader

A/n: I didn’t clarify this in the hc but Az gives reader the stuffed bat when he goes on his first mission after the ddlg relationship is established :)

Warnings: ddlg

As Azriel passed one of the many shop windows on his way home from the market, something caught his eye. Backing up to look at it properly his eyes went wide with excitement. It was a perfectly sized stuffed bat.

He had never worried about leaving you for long missions before. But now with this new dynamic Azriel was nervous about how much you’d miss him. And the perfect solution was sitting right in front of him.

Azriel tied off his snow covered boots in the entry way as he called out to you, “y/n/n!”

“In the kitchen Azzy!” He went straight to the kitchen with his shopping. You turned from the stove and your face lit up at the sight of him.

Azriel placed the bags down on the table scooping you up in his arms. You lean up and kiss him to show him how much you missed him.

“Did you get the extra stuff we need for dinner?” “I did. And I got you something.” He says in a loving tone.

You tilt your head, eyes sparkling with curiosity. “Of course princess.” Azriel puts you back down on your feet as he heads over to the brightly colored bag on the table. He pulls out your present, his back to you so you don’t see it just yet.

Azriel turns to you with a loving smile on his face holding out the cutest stuffed bat plush. Your face changed from curious to happy in seconds. It was perfect! It was the same reddish/gold as Azriel’s wings, cute pointy ears, and it’s wings even stuck together like it was hugging you.

You bounced forward, screaming with joy at the thoughtful gift. “He’s so cute!” You took the bat from his hands and hugged it to your chest. “I thought I’d get this for you so you could still have a bat to cuddle at night while I’m away.”

Your mood dips at the reminder of Azriel going away. You feel a pang in your heart. You don’t want Azriel to go. Truthfully you’re a little scared about him going away this time. How would you adjust? Would you be ok this time?

Of course you would be. You had been before and you will be this time. And Azriel always came back home to you.

Azriel senses your sadness and worry he wrapped his arms around you, resting his cheek on your head. “You’ll be ok princess. I promise the week will fly by and I’ll be home before you know it.” You nod against his chest. “Plus,” he adds, trying to refocus on your gift, “you got this little guy.” Azriel lightly pulls on the little bats ear.

You look down at the plushy, running your thumb over its soft face. “What are you going to name him?” You let a hum in thought. Your lips twisted to the side and your nose scrunched up. All Azriel could do was smile at you. You’re just so cute when you think.

“Binx!” You yell out excitedly. “I wanna name him Binx.” You smile up at Azriel, hugging Binx to your chest again. “I’m going to put him upstairs. When I come back can we make dinner together?” “Of course we can princess.”

The day came for Azriel to leave for his mission. You were trying your best not to cry, but you couldn’t help the thick tears that escaped your eyes. Azriel wiped them away with a scarred thumb, frowning at you.

“Oh princess don’t cry. You’re breaking my heart.” You sniffle. “Sorry daddy.” He cups your cheek and gives you one last kiss before leaving. “I love you.” “I love you to princess.”

You watch Azriel fly away until he was a tiny, dark speck among the stars and early morning snow fall.

Climbing into bed later that night you pick up Binx and cuddle him. Inhaling, you can scent Azriel on him. You smile for the first time all day. Unwrapping his wings you find a little note from Azriel reading, Princess, I hope Binx keeps you company while I’m gone. Remember that I love you and I’ll be thinking of you everyday.

You start to cry again. But these are happy tears. You’re happy knowing that Azriel thinks of you as much as you think of him. It’ll make the week go by faster, especially now that you Binx to comfort you.

the stuffed animal poll reminds me that recently ive been bringing one of my beany bellie plushes to work by stuffing him into one of the mesh pockets on my bookbag. hes called binx :)

It's one I think he's had since his childhood, though he'll murder me if he ever knew I told you about it, so best keep it a secret, aye? 😉 As for myself, I have one of those little military bears, dressed in his own wee little kilt and everything.

A mini plush of Baphomet, one little German Shepherd, a pink cat named Strawbebby Cat, a little hand-crocheted fox named Bean, a cat named Binx, another black cat with a stitched up eye named Lucipurr, a little tiny cheetah plush named Cheetoh, an odd-shaped tiger squishmallow named Tigger, and an old bear fr my childhood with red eyes and a puppy dog nose, named Brownie. 😇🩵 Strawbebby Cat is my fave though, as is Riley Jr, the German Shep.

Bucky didn't think that much of it, letting you watch Hocus Pocus

He'd been assured by everyone it was the perfect Halloween movie for a little, not too scary, just the perfect amount of seasonal spookiness

The worst he thought might come of it would be a few sleepless nights with you hogging all the blankets in his bed to ward of nightmares, not that he really minded that

What he was not expecting was for you to become absolutely head over heels OBSESSED with the film

Specifically, the character of Thackery Binx

He was ALL you could talk about from that point on

Every day you begged Bucky for a little black cat, just like the one from the movie. And every day he would answer with the same thing:

"Babydoll, we already have a kitty, and she loves you very much."

You loved Alpine too, of course you did, and you were grateful for her and the love and warm nuzzles she always provided

But you were a baby obsessed - nothing could convince you to let the matter go

Bucky tried everything he could

He bought you a black cat stuffy, onesies and bottles with black cats on them, took you to the local shelters to feed some foster kitties in the hopes that it might satisfy your want

He even tried to convince you that Uncle T'Challa was basically a black cat already

But it was no use, you wanted a Binx cat

You had an idea though

Alpine was daddy's cat, he'd adopted her a while before you'd come into his life, and he took care of her

Feeding her, cleaning the litter box, it was all his responsibility

So maybe if you proved to him you could be responsible for a kitty just like him, he'd let you have one of your very own!

And how were you going to prove to Bucky that you could take care of a cat?

With your stuffy, of course!

The next morning when you woke up, you carried your black plush cat, into the living room with you

Alpine had already been fed that morning, but you'd watched Daddy feed her enough times that you knew what to do

You scooped a cup of food into Alpine's empty bowl, posing your stuffy to look like it was eating

When you decided he'd eaten enough you cleaned up the "leftover" food, putting it back into the bag so Alpine wouldn't come sneak a second helping

Bucky stood in the kitchen, morning coffee in hand, watching this all go down with an amused grin on his face

"Meow meow!" you squeaked out of the corner of your mouth

"What's that, baby?" you asked, holding your plush cat up to your ear, "You gotta go potty?"

You jumped up and started running to the laundry room where the litter box was kept so your stuffy could "relieve itself"

At this point, Bucky decided to stop it before it went too far

"Okay, okay, I know what you're doing babydoll."

"Did it work, daddy?"

Bucky had been thinking about it all morning

You usually got over a fixation like this in a few days, moving onto the next thing that caught your attention, you'd never shown this much intention and seriousness over something like this before

"Tell you what, baby. You help me take care of Alpine for the rest of the month, and you might get a little surprise for a Halloween present."

"No such thing as a Halloween present, daddy!" you giggled

"Well there is now!"

Curtis: "At this time I am pretty partial to aquarium dates, that last one we went on, it was one of the best dates I've ever had. But I have always wanted to go places like the Smithsonian. One day, we will."

Honey: "That's like choosing my favorite child! Not fair. Both? Can I pick both?"

27. What part of a person's body do you usually find most attractive?

Honey: "Whew... Eyes. When Curtis looks at me a certain way, I'm ruined. But if I had to pick another part, shoulders, especially when they are all tensed up."

Curtis: "Thighs." Grins. "I love feeling thick plush thighs that are so soft and warm around me."

40. What was the last thing that took your breath away?

Honey: "Oh I slid across the linoleum floor the other day when Binx was weaving around my feet. Completely took my breath away cause I thought I was gonna break my neck. Kidding Curtis, don't get rid of the cat! The other day one of my students shared a picture of ice formation on their window panes and it was just beautiful, you know. All the swirls and whorls were like a wild painting."

Curtis: "Honey."

49. If you choose to get a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it?

Curtis: "Tattoos are one of my favorite things. Next, I want some bear cub paw prints for my niece placed on my upper arm or an axe for our group of axe throwers. Honey can pick where it goes."

Honey: "I don't have one yet. But a cute bumblebee would make me so happy!"

Shamu: a sea world shamu plush I use as a pillow, very worn, hand-me-down from my brothers

Nightshade: smoll bat you know him.

Fen: A fennekin plushie! I like to tuck my head in-between her ears. My secondary plush to use as a pillow. Got her from my uncle at my birthday a long time ago.
