She was angry, hurt, her limbs ached after the last two days of traveling back to Kaede’s, her head throbbed, but most of all she was tired, tired of it all. She just wanted to go home, soak in a bath and take a long nap. They had been traveling south, past Jinenji’s village and while this particular journey started out great, it’s ending the opposite.

Inuyasha Bingo Bonanza Week 4: Tropes (4) You and me antiheroes

Note: One final one for Tropes week, which I forget that I have one more prompt to fill which is Mate!, so I decided to go for that definition, instead of the usual sexual annotations which is an informal saying one of a matched pair, which fits Bankotsu and his band of Seven, so for the tropes I decided these 3 tropes which are Found Family, Gen/Friendship and in vino veritas.

So thank you @inu-mothership and @feudalconnection for making through this fun event!!

Bankotsu chuckled a little, as he toyed with the decapapited head “Two minutes ago…” as he bunched the remainder of his locks “you said that you slit my throat and display my head to your lord…”

“How ironic as I am the one who has that last laugh…”

Bankotsu tossed that head out to the field, to hear a loud crash at the distance. He chuckled that the organs that should remain, will be a testament to all passerby’s to never cross the band of seven, meanwhile he heard a girlish giggle from Jakotsu “Anki!!!!”, he held a jug of good sake, judging from the pottery, must be some measly merchant that sided with my enemy. Bankotsu thought to himself , as he drilled his Banryu, unto another dead noble man, savouring the blood that cake upon his outfit like a sash for the gods.

“Nice catch…” Bankotsu chuckled a little, watching Jakotsu licked his Jakotsuto, savouring the blood from the blades in his mouth. “Too bad, I did not kiss the lips of a noble I was fighting over…” He grinned cheekily, giving a handshake to Bankotsu. “He could placed himself comfortably as a tennyo Anki….”

“Enough flirting Jakotsu…”

Bankotsu grumbled playfully as he savoured the sake unto his lips. “Where the hell is Renkotsu….”

“Playing with fire Anki…” Jakotsu chipped, savouring the sqeulching noises of the dead bodies strewn in the ground. “He would incarnate them easily…”, snatching that bottle away from Jakotsu and proceeding to drink heavily from it. Jakotsu’s eyes widened madly like a hungry wolf, eager for any flesh it consumed.

“Shall we kill those idiots and danced upon their corspes, who knows  Mukotsu would croak that both, Bankotsu, the one who held Banryu and you Jakotsu, hold Jakotsuto, slaying everyone so quickly, what would they think?”

Jakotsu grinned at Bankotsu quietly. “That is why I liked you, you always made us, despite that we are birthed from different fathers, to fight with you, and soon victory will be ours…”

hold up, I need to talk about this for a bit. I know it may seem like random graffiti, but because it has gears and such, his future might've been set in stone. To become TV.

"I locked myself in my room and watched TV all day!" and no one checked up on him? Did he stay in that room all the way to adulthood?! Okay, the SMG4 universe has a different way of how time and body necessities work. But hunger and time are still things. The implications are kinda of messed up if you think about it: Mr Puzzles stayed in his room for YEARS without food or even sleep, watching everything on TV. He would've been a CORPSE by adulthood. No wonder Mr Puzzles has a thin waist.

"And the rest is history." No, Puzzles, you can leave us like this! I need more! What happened after he cut off his head, did he replace every limb of himself? What happened to his dad?

Metaphorically and perhaps literally, the real man before Mr Puzzles came to be is already dead.

And I was really really scared and nervous about (one) if it would actually come out good and (two) if people would actually like it. But just based on the reactions from the watch party with the SMG4 team and also just seeing everybody's reactions to WOTFI this year, um.... Yeah, you guys surely showed me I still must be doing something right." *laugh* "But, no no no. In all honesty, once more, thank you all genuinely. Genuinely, thank you all once again to the SMG4 community, to Luke, to Kevin, the SMG4 team. Everybody. Thank you all so much for showing me that I apparently still got it and I can still do the thing as it were." *chuckle* "Um, I do really hope you all enjoyed WOTFI this year. For now, I need to go get me that new Mr Puzzles plushie 'cause I need it. So, genuinely thank you all again and uh, peace!

Oh, we enjoyed this year's WOTFI, SMG4 Team! As Mario would say, that was-a loads of fun! The animation, the art, the music, everything was really really good. There are a few plot tweaks here and there that need a bit of work, but otherwise, it was great! Props to everyone on the Team! I can't wait to see what you guys do next.

My 2023 in fics

Tagged by @billyharringson, thank you, this was a lot of fun!

January: Hot and Cold (or How To Serve Revenge) - a fic I wrote in January (but posted in February, schhhh). Got challenged by @callieb to write hurt/no comfort, and I have it on good authority that I succeeded ... (it has spawned no less than two fix-its and one more continuation by other people so far, which I am awfully pleased about actually)

February: Again and again and again and again, a time loop fic that I love, and would like to read like 80K about. ... yes, read. I don't have time to write more on it now. But I had so much fun writing this, and it is one of my favorite kinds of fics; a short one with potential.

March: March was busy. There was Billy's Birthday Bonanza, and also I wrote for the Billy Hargrove Bingo. I posted a lot of fics then, most of them short. So I'm gonna link two, because I can (and no one told me any rules for this tagging game); Boys, Beards and Best Friends, because it was so much fun writing Billy and Heather being BFFs and also the boys being set up, and then Over the edge, which is one of my favorites, because it was so goddamn fun to write! (Murder mystery prank going wrong, muahahaaa! Don't worry though, no one dies for real.)

April: A piece of meaning on your skin, a little fic I wrote for the Harringrove Flip Reverse It event, about the boys choosing tattoos for each other as a part of a bet. I still think it's cute.

May: I like Flo, okay, and like to incorporate her into fics. In Patience, I wrote about her first impressions of Billy, for the Billy Hargrove Bingo.

June-July: Posted in June, finished posting in July (but written on and off over the course of several years previous ...), Taking Notes is my longest fanfic yet at about 93K. And, listen, I love it. It's a body swap fic, where the boys swap bodies. And then again. And again. Etc. I am so proud of this one, actually.

August: Posted Pal, which is 17K of Billy befriending a stray demodog. I 100% believe Billy would like animals better than most humans, and this fic is basically him being a bit dumb but also a good friend to Pal, the demodog. September: I'm picking a short one that I first posted on tumblr and then onto AO3; Seagulls. It's ... well, it's sad in a way, in that it takes place when Billy's dying at the mall, but it's also comforting in a way, because he gets to leave all that bullshit behind and is greeted by his mom again.

October: Picking Just another night at Motel 6 on Cornwallis, because Billy deserves to get to tell Karen no, and Karen deserves to be shamed for what she did (yes, in this fic she showed up). It was immensely satisfying to write.

November: I didn't get much posted in November (because NaNo), but I did get chapter 3 of Finding Billy posted (it's a finished fic now, though, don't worry). It's a whumpy fic I had to write after a couple of chats with friends, about Billy being held with the Lab people after the whole Starcourt thing, and then Steve and Max and Hop finding out and getting him out of there. Poor boy's been through a lot in this one - but things are getting better, promise!

December: Started posting Home is where the knitted mittens are, which is my latest fic. No ships, no romance. Just Billy finding out he's a werewolf and having to deal with that in Hawkins, Indiana, without much of a safety net. Listen, I'm weak for werewolf Billy, okay? And I made up some werewolf lore in this one which is a mix of all the things I like. (It was literally a reason for me to get to write something "nesting"-adjacent, without having to go into A/B/O-territory.) Definitely written mostly for myself, and I love it dearly. (Featuring werewolf!Scott Clarke too, because why not right??)

Huh, I never thought I'd had enough to fill a whole year's worth, but look at that! I'm proud of myself for this :)

Inuyasha Bingo Bonanza: Final Days!

Bingo time is nearly at an end, and you know what that means! IT'S TIME TO POST EVERYTHING!

Miroku stood by, watching Sango coming into the decrepit camp, noticing how her hands shake from that battle, to see Sango huddling herself in the camp, with soiled shirts and glassy eyes.

“Huh, you seems….”

Sango mumbled to herself. “Leave me alone…” trying to withhold the tears in her eyes, which Miroku noticed her slender hands underneath the gauntlets. “I could be beheaded or I will be tied to the stake like the accursed women…” She covered her face in shame, with the tears soaked her bloodied fingers.

“I am doing it…I must not lose…I must fight…I…I….”

Miroku sat quietly allowing the sobs to echo the rain that pour upon their clothes.

“It must be tiring Sango….” Miroku stared at the piling corspes of a battlefield far away, only hearing the squishing of boots disfiguring the already rotting corspes, and the caws of the ravens echoing the air. “It seems our fate though, our faith small like a mustard seed like Jesu said…” passing Sango a small canteen to drink some liquor to drown the pain. “However that said mustard seed will make an impact to the world…”

Quietly Miroku took off his shirt revealing the lashings on his back. “Hence we must endure that pain to come….” Miroku smiled pensively unto Sango. “Another battle will fell upon us…”, he quickly drifted off to sleep to see Sango clutching his hand so tightly.

Her face redden with that heat that consumed her.

If you said so.

Jesu. Be kind to us brave soldiers.

Quietly Sango slipped herself away from Miroku, only revealing her body in a nearby spring. For only the forces will know her true self.

If only scars can be shown beautifully amidst of blood and gore.

What Sango could resolve is that she could save her brother from the endless nightmares that come with the crusades, for war is only dictated in glory by the conquerers and not the conqueror.

Sango cannot love her fellow solider Miroku for now, because victory is only held by a poisoned chalice. And yet she is willing to drink it, now if the water could cleanse her.

Sango can only sate that sinful thought, by her hands reaching that area that ache for Miroku to see who is she.

For that mere moment, it quelled the horrors of  the entrails split on the snow and screams of the innocent out of Sango’s mind

After finally punting the first part of a triple oneshot out of the file affectionately known as Temp Hold I've been having a shufty at the less conventional ships that have been half written that could do with throwing over the finish line. Bre's Bingo Bonanza, the next Garden's Overgrown oneshot, Sea Salt and general OT3 flavours have been omitted as they will be worked on regardless.
