Ahh the pressure is high as it is Christmasss…..
I think this is the first Christmas that I really have felt true pre-xmas stress. There’s trying to see everyone but also trying to keep a little time to myself to just chill out and sort my life out a bit before I go back to working in the library, there’s the guilt and stress of presents – spending too much but feeling like I’m not spending enough and I think there is the stress of having to be in a certain place in the middle of the week when it doesn’t quite suit. I am sadly working until Christmas Eve this year so have to rush off straight after work to get to the family Christmas festivities which may be rather intense. Anyhow with all this going on I also started the weak feeling rather under the weather, two rather sore ulcers and a pain in my lower back exacerbated by intense feelings of anxiety. This being the case I decided, as the weather was fine, to take some time out and treat myself, at this busy time, to a walk around the Devil’s Dyke. It did indeed look glorious in the winter sun and I certainly gained a lot of perspective and awareness which I think is truly needed for everyone around this time.
This gave me a bit of energy to crack on with presents. I have decided to make a couple of things this year. I started with making this collage for my Granny who suffers from Dementia. In her home at Paxhill each resident has a little frame outside their door which they can put memories so I made this to go in her own frame which is currently empty. It was a real joy creating it as it was lovely to sift through old family photos and happier times for my Grandparents. I really hope she finds some comfort in it.
Tom and I also made a couple of CD’s which I do love designing, however tedious the printing process is. These are for my Uncle and Tom’s Dad both open-minded music lovers which means creating CD’s for them is a very enjoyable process.
Here are the finished covers.
The first CD is two fantastic live performances by Anderson. Paak someone who played Reading Festival this year?! Yes, Jazz is cool apparently. But really he is an absolutely amazing musician and I think both these videos truly showcase his talent, for example rapping and drumming at the same time…how is this possible?

The second is a selection of music Tom and I watched live and listened to whilst scaling the country in our little Peugot 206 over the festival season this year. Again it was lovely to make this CD and remember all the amazing live music we’ve seen this year. Highlights for me were definitely Bellatrix band, Alice Russell and Moon Hooch.
Festival Mix CD Playlist
Ebbs and Flows – Bare Jams
Beans on Toast – War on War
Bingbag Wisdom – Pussy Willis
Bess Atwell - Swimming Pool
Bess Atwell - Fall from Grace

I’m hoping both Dave and Al will enjoy these.
Towards the end of the week I was feeling slightly better with the ulcer still persisting however we managed to have a very enjoyable Christmassy weekend with lots of people we love starting with a fantastic event by the Lovely Brothers, ‘Christmas Austerity Downer 3’ which consisted of an amusing poet and the host of the night talking very fast about his obsession with Seals, a worshipping of radish, which was very bizarre, a politics quiz, involving lots of bananas and politicians eating food, and finishing with the Lovely Brothers band, who were absolutely brilliant and absolutely barmy singing incredibly eloquent and musical songs about making love in the digital age, kebabs, seeing a goth in MacDonald’s and having OCD. See below for a couple of clips of their performances.

Following the gig we stumbled into a pub and by chance bumped into some festival friends from the summer who had come to Brighton just for the night! The world is a small place really!
In the morning some more of our friends came down at 9.30 sharp to go to the Florence Road Christmas Market. It was absolutely lovely and we ate lots of delicious food. It was wonderful to see friends that we don’t get nearly enough of a chance to see properly but every time we meet up it’s like we saw them the other day. Someone who ran a food stall also took some pictures of us for their social media!
The rest of the weekend was spent finishing up Christmas prep and vegetating on the sofa watching Liverpool win that fantastic nail biting final of The Club World Cup. And of course, I have now made it obligatory to watch It’s A Wonderful Life every year as it’s just such a good reminder of what matters most in life. I even got Tom to watch it with me for the first time and he thoroughly approved.

Has anyone gotten a medical bracelet? I have a lot of bad allergies on top of EDS, I'm conflicted on what to put on mine or if a card in my wallet would be enough?
I feel like with the allergies thing, it depends on whether or not it is life threatening. If so, a medical bracelet could save your life. If your EDS is type four, a medical bracelet would also be helpful. For other types, it can go multiple ways. I have a card in my wallet for EDS and it gives specific details about the impact of the disorder on skin, joints, wounds, etc. and I think that information is really helpful since I doubt most EMTs know what EDS is since so many doctors don’t.

4: Worst Game you’ve ever played-Final Fantasy 10, I could not overcome my hatred of Tidus to enjoy it, oh wait never mind I just remembered I really hated The Bouncer, and the first Blood Rayne
19: Which game do you think deserves a revival?
-Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman
28: Which character’s clothes do you wish you owned the most?
-going by the type of games I play, none
29: Which is more important, gameplay or story?
-That depends on the type of game in my opinion, like I could care less about the story line in Tekken (unless Ling Xiaoyu finally hooks up with Jin or Hwoarang reveals he hates Jin because he has some unrequited love for her and Heihachi finally dies and never comes back) so I would prefer gameplay in that situation. However if I’m playing a rpg or adventure game then I would like both, but a good story would take top priority.
