roadtrip with the dunne family !!
it’s the end of summer, start of fall. camila and billy were invited back hom to Pittsburgh to visit their family. they weren't planning on taking daisy or karen, but daisy throws such a fit that they actually give in.
even karen got a little fussy the night they broke the news. she got real quiet and refused to talk to either of them — her little arms crossed over her chest with a pout on her face, her dragon stuffie clutched in her hands.
mama mila hates to see her babies so upset, and papa billy doesnt like it either. it's actually billys idea to bring the two — as stubborn as he is, karen and daisy are his kiddos, and he might be more wrapped than camila.
at bedtime, mama mila goes to tuck the kiddos into bed, and as she sits on the bed, billy comes in.
“oh, there's my favorite girls. are we all tuckered out from pouting? mhm, it seems that way, don't it, mama?”
and billy gives everyone, including cami, a kiss on their heads. he sits on the other side and says,
“guess what? ive got you two tickets. you're gonna come with me and mama to pittsburgh.”
all that hard work cami's done in calming daisy down is instantly reversed, which also gets karen excited.
a week later and two overlays later, billy decides the best course of action is to rent a car. he loads all their suitcases in the back and helps cami repack the kiddos carry ons so theyve got more fun things to do.
a few hours into the trip, billy realizes that maybe he shouldve waited the delays out.
karen's already gone through half of her sticker book even though both him and mama told her to use paper only. there's stickers all over the window and seat and a few on her pad of paper.
daisy keeps asking if theyre there yet, and being that theyre somewhere in the middle of the midwest and just left, billy accidentally snaps and tells her to ‘take a guess’
karen's babbling in the backseat immediately stops and daisy goes still as her eyes well up with tears. billy immediately feels awful, but there's not a lot he can do to remedy the situation.
camila turns and reaches into the back seat, shushing daisy before her whimpers turn into full cries.
‘it's okay, little duck, papa's just frustrated. you know how you feel icky sometimes? that's how papa's feeling. trying to keep you and ren safe so we can have fun.’
daisy grabs cami's hand and doesnt turn loose, and before she knows it, she's climbing into the backseat between her two kiddos.
‘i'll sit with you for a little bit, okay?’
and within five minutes, all three of them are asleep. cami's got both girls tucked under her arms, and the car is quiet.
billy decides there's really no need to rush the trip. theyre in the beautiful mountains with stretches of waterfalls and wildlife. while they sleep, billy finds a spot and pulls off. it's just outside a small town, and its almost dark anyways, so they'll have to stop.
he sets up a picnic with food he stopped and got food (a miracle no one woke up when he got out of the car).
“hey, girls. did you sleep good? ive got a surprise. come look.”
daisy perks up faster than camila and karen, and shes blearily trying to get out of the car. billy helps daisy unbuckle her seat belt while camila helps karen.
when they get out, theyre near a pretty waterfall and bill's got all sorts of stuff set up. karen’s sticker books, daisy's coloring books, cami's camera. even their stuffies are sitting on the blanket waiting for them.
“papa this s'nice.” daisy says, rubbing her eyes. she gives billy a huge hug. “i loves it!”
karen tugs on billy's shirt and shyly says ‘thank you, papa’
they sit together and have supper, and while the girls play and get out their pent up energy, cami tells billy she loves him.
“look how happy our girls are. theyre gonna need a bath — i think daisy might be eating the chalk. duckling, out of your mouth.”
“or papa's gonna put it up, okay? on the sidewalk, not your mouth.”
the drive to pittsburgh takes way longer than it probably should. they stop somewhere every night and have supper outside while karen and daisy play. then they go get a hotel and camila gets them ready for bed.
it’s almost a little sad when they get there, and karen asks billy one night if they can drive back home.
‘s'fun. no flying. we drive home, papa? please?’
and theres no way billy can say no. not when karen asks so sweetly. he kisses her head and tucks the covers under her
‘sure we can, monkey. we'll drive home.’
then daisy comes in and jumps into bed next to karen. billy kisses her head and tells her night night, before leaving cami to let them do their bedtime routine.

Daisy’s First Christmas
Little!Daisy Jones, Little!Karen Sirko, Cg!Billy Dunne, Cg!Camila Dunne
Thank you so so much to my friends @half-eclipse and @starvember for helping me with ideas for this !! also Merry Christmas everyone <3
Word count: 3631
———————————
Daisy had always liked Christmas from a distance. She liked seeing all the pretty lights go up, she liked the music and she especially liked how much happier people seemed. But up close it was far less appealing. She hated having to sit for hours while her parents got the perfect Christmas photo, she hated the parties she had to sit silently through and she hated waking up alone on Christmas morning. She’d never had a reason to celebrate before, no one to celebrate with, so when Billy came into the living room one evening saying it was time to get the tree up Daisy didn’t really know what to expect.
“Finally,” Camila exclaimed as if waiting until December second was the biggest crime on earth. She seemed to sense Daisy’s hesitation and placed a gentle hand on her back. “Come on Dais, let’s go help Papa find the right tree.”
Karen poked her head up from behind the couch where she’d been doing a puzzle. “From the Christmas tree farm?” She asked eagerly.
“That’s right, go put your coat on,” Camila instructed gently, ruffling Karen’s hair. Karen got up, grabbing Daisy’s hand and dragging her up to get their coats. “We gotta pick a good one,” They had to pick a tree? Daisy had never done that before, at home her parents had used the same plastic one every year.
Once they were all bundled up and piled into the car Billy drove them to a Christmas tree farm about twenty minutes down the road. How had Daisy never known this existed? There were rows and rows of trees, billions of them probably. The family clambered through the snow laden grounds, Julia on Billy’s shoulders so they didn’t lose her amongst the tall pines. Karen held Daisy’s hand, she was quieter now they were outside the comfortable confines of their home. Daisy was just as quiet but her eyes were wide with awe as she ran her fingers through the green needles. They’d brought Apollo and he was happily running circles around the family, tail wagging as he sniffed every inch of earth.
They traipsed through the trees for a while until Daisy laid eyes on the perfect tree. She pointed to it eagerly, bouncing with excitement. “This one, D?” Billy questioned, Daisy nodded.
“Please Papa, it’s pretty.” She looked back nervously to make sure everyone agreed with her. Camila nodded encouragingly.
“Sure thing.” Billy gently ruffled her hair.
When they got home Billy asked the other boys to come out and help him get the tree inside. Daisy held the very top of the tree as they carried it inside, Billy praising how strong she was for helping. Daisy beamed with pride at her assistance and curled up on the couch with Karen and Camila as they put the tree in place.
Daisy offered to help Billy get the decorations from the basement even though it was dark and creepy. She wanted to be there every step of the way, soaking up every mundane moment that Christmas had to offer. They emerged from the basement with three boxes of Christmas decorations. Camila had put Julia to bed and was on the couch with Karen who had found her paci and blankie. She seemed very small and Apollo sat protectively at her feet. Daisy climbed up next to them. “Ren Ren,” she smiled, playing with Karen’s hair. Karen looked up at Daisy with wide, glistening eyes. “I’ve never decorated a tree before,” Daisy admitted quietly. She watched as Karen’s face twisted into a frown, “you’ll help me right?” Karen nodded eagerly around her paci. Camilla laughed softly and kissed Daisy’s head.
Daisy was a bit nervous to decorate the tree. She didn’t want to put something in the wrong place or accidentally break anything. But as she watched Graham and Billy wind the tinsel around the tree she couldn’t help but get excited. Camila handed her the first ornament, a little bauble covered in silver glitter. “Go on bug, you can put it wherever you want.”
Daisy looked to Karen for guidance. Karen pointed to the middle of the tree, Daisy trusted her advice, carefully hanging the decoration exactly where directed. After that it got easier, the boys started helping too and Karen was happy to watch from the couch with Camila and give silent guidance when needed. Warren put a Christmas vinyl on and Daisy felt like her whole body was warm with joy. “Alright kiddo, you wanna put the star up?” Billy asked once the tree was fully covered with decorations. Daisy’s face lit up instantly, her hand flapping with excitement.
“Really, really?”
“Of course, I assume no one has any opposition to this?” Billy asked, looking around the room. For once even Eddie couldn’t argue with Billy’s decision. Daisy nervously picked up the star, being more careful with it than she’d ever been with anything before. She looked to Billy, her face stricken with determination. “C’mere bug,” Billy grinned, carefully hoisting Daisy up from under her arms so she could reach the top of the tree. Daisy placed the star very carefully, giggling with pure joy as Billy put her back on the floor.
“You did so well Mi Cariño,” Camila praised as Daisy clambered into her lap.
“Star,” Karen clapped happily.
“That’s right Bebe. Can you say estrella?” Camila asked.
“Rella,” Karen parroted around her pacifier.
“So smart,” Camila praised, pressing a kiss to the top of Karen’s head. “What about you Daisy, can you say estrella?”
Daisy nodded eagerly, she loved when Cami taught them words in Spanish. “Estrella,” she pronounced proudly. Camila smiled, offering Daisy a kiss to the cheek in reward.
“Don’t I just have the smartest girls in the world,” she cooed.
“And the best helpers,” Billy added. “Who wants to help Papa put up the outside lights too?” Daisy squealed, leaping up from the couch.
“I do!”
Thanks to all the hands, it only took an hour to get the whole front of the house decked up with Christmas lights. Daisy was entirely enamoured with the flashing colours. It all but confirmed for her that this was going to be the best Christmas ever.
***
Camila had been desperately searching for ways to keep Daisy occupied during the winter cold. It was a constant struggle between getting the girl to stop bouncing off the walls and trying to convince her to put a coat on before going outside. Karen was no easier, having taken to cartwheels as her chosen form of transportation around the house. Crafts were a fan favourite and so Camila had come up with the wonderful idea to make letters to Santa. She lay all the craft supplies down in the living room, making sure to put towels beneath them because Daisy and craft time was never a friend to the floorboards.
“You just have to write down what you want Santa to bring,” Camila explained gently. Daisy frowned, this felt like a lot of pressure. But Camila always said there was no pressure to do anything at all when she was feeling small, Daisy reminded herself of this now, whatever she wrote Mama wouldn’t be mad. And Daisy liked the idea of imagining and writing a fun letter so she was a bit excited.
“Anything?” She asked, ideas quickly growing in her mind.
“Not another dog.” Daisy ruffled Apollo’s fur but thought that was probably a fair restriction. She looked at the lined paper infront of her nervously but quickly ideas started to bloom in her mind.
Daisy had just about half covered her page in scribbled gift ideas and little doodles before she noticed Karen hadn’t written anything at all. Camila seemed to notice too.
“Ren?” Camila cooed gently, sitting down beside Karen. Karen’s face scrunched up, a desperate attempt to stop tears falling. “Oh hon, you’re ok,” Camila promised gently. She started rubbing soft circles on Karen’s back as she began to cry. Daisy frowned, Karen didn’t cry a lot unless she felt really, really, small. She’d been feeling smaller a lot more often recently, Daisy thought. Karen had told her it was because she missed her grandparents, the holidays made people miss their homes, Daisy didn’t. But Karen’s grandparents were lovely, and always sent her letters and little gifts and Daisy thought she’d probably miss them too. Camila pulled Karen into her lap, soothingly rocking her back and forth. “There you go monkey, no more tears, Mama's right here.” Karen clung to Camila desperately. “Where’s your blankie, hm? Is it in your room?” Karen nodded sadly. Daisy quickly shot up, she knew Karen’s blankie would make her feel a lot better.
“I’ll find it.” Daisy ran off to get it and tucked it into Karen’s arms when she came back.
“Thank you sweet girl, you’re such a good sister,” Camila praised, causing Daisy to beam with pride.
“Ren wanna finish her letter?” Daisy questioned. Karen shook her head firmly, burrowing closer to Camila. “That’s ok, can you tell me what you wanna ask for?” Karen sniffled a little bit, wiping some of her tears away with the edge of her blanket.
“Keyboard for when I'm small,” she mumbled. Daisy quickly wrote that down on her letter, making sure Santa would know it’s for Karen.
“Good choice bubba,” Daisy grinned. “Do you want a stuffie too? I asked for a fox!” Karen nodded. “What animal, you can have any at all and Santa will make it in his factory,” Daisy explained matter-of-factly.
“Monkey,” Karen whispered, a soft smile returning to her face.
“Monkey!” Daisy squealed, thinking that had been one of Karen’s best ideas ever. She wrote it down quickly.
Warren came in shortly after Daisy had finished writing her letter, just as she was adding the last dots of glitter glue around the edges to make it pretty.
“What are we up to in here?” He questioned, sitting down next to Daisy.
“Crafts!” Daisy exclaimed happily.
“Crafts? Amigo, you gotta let me show you the best Christmas craft ever.” Warren exclaimed. Daisy perked up. She’d thought letters were pretty cool but Warren always had the most fun ideas.
Warren taught them how to make paper snowflakes and even Karen crawled off Camila’s lap to make her own. “Look at you two, you’re naturals,” he encouraged as Daisy unfolded her first snowflake. “Now for the best part,” Warren grinned, pulling out a bottle of glitter from the craft box.
***
Amongst all the festivities, Christmas Eve came faster than Daisy knew what to do with. “Who wants to make cookies?” Camila asked the girls. Julia, Karen and Daisy were all spread out on the living room floor, attempting to make the longest paper chain ever. However, at the mention of cookies the plans were immediately deserted. “Those are my girls, hm, coming to help Mama.”
“Can we make them with the shape cutters?” Daisy asked excitedly. Camila lifted Julia up onto the bench, still too young to really help.
“Of course we can birdie,”
“We’ve got special Christmas ones!” Karen exclaimed excitedly, searching through the drawers. Camila ended up doing most of the heavy work, whilst Karen and Daisy chased each other around the kitchen with flour on their hands. But when it came time to cut out the little star and Santa hat shapes the girls were all over it.
“Jules you just gotta put it down and press,” Daisy explained, demonstrating for the younger girl. She handed the star cutter over and Julia tried for herself. “Good job!” Daisy exclaimed proudly when the toddler managed to cut out the cookie herself.
“Aren’t you both so talented?” Camila cooed. Pressing a kiss to the top of both their heads. Karen had grown easily bored of the tedious task and was hanging upside down over the side of the couch. “Little bug?” Camila called out.
“Yeah mama?” Karen called back, sliding onto the floor. Karen had been doing a bit better the last few days, but Daisy had still been trying to be an extra good sister and help take care of her. “Do you wanna pick out a movie for us?”
“Anything?”
“Whatever you want, monkey.” Karen pulled out their VHS tape collection and began searching for the movie she had in mind. As she did this Camila put the cookies in the oven, not before grabbing a photo of Daisy and Julia with batter all over their hands and faces.
They ended up watching ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’. The four girls cuddled up on the couch, Julia on Camila’s lap and Daisy and Karen on either side of her. Daisy got hot chocolate in her sippy, and Karen in her bottle. Karen and Julia drifted off quickly and even Daisy was struggling to keep her eyes open by the end.
Camila woke them up when the cookies were done, letting each girl take a fresh, warm, choc chip cookie and helping them leave the rest out with a glass of milk for Santa. “Alright my sleepy darlings, let’s get off to bed.”
Billy was in charge of putting Julia to bed whilst Camila handled the somehow more difficult task of getting Daisy and Karen down. Daisy always struggled to fall asleep but her restlessness was tripled with her excitement for Christmas Day. “Come on now birdie, just close your eyes for Mama.” Daisy pouted,
“Can’t, too much energies,”
“Oh I know my sweet girl, but if you don’t go to sleep Santa can’t come.” Daisy sighed defeatedly, pulling all her stuffies into her arms. “Goodnight baby girl,” Camila cooed gently, pressing a soft kiss to the top of Daisy’s head.
“Story time?” Daisy pleaded. Camila sighed, though she couldn’t be mad at the sweet request.
“One story,” she allowed. Daisy requested fantastic Mr fox. She thought Camila was the best storyteller ever, using silly voices for each of the characters and making sure the girl was so absorbed in the story that she couldn’t even feel herself slip off into a peaceful slumber.
***
Daisy never slept in anymore, if the sun was up, she was up. Especially today. When the first little streams of sunlight slithered through the curtains, Daisy woke, as excited as a kid on Christmas… literally. She bundled her stuffies, Dusty the Bunny and Bailey the bear, into her arms and emerged from the warm comfort of her blankets. She shivered in the cool morning air but adjusted quickly, dropping her socked feet down onto the hardwood floor. Quietly she crept out of her room and down the hall to Karen’s.
“Ren,” Daisy called out quietly, climbing into Karen’s bed and gently shaking her shoulder.
“Daisy m’ tired,” Karen whined, rolling over and pulling the blanket up to her head.
“It’s Christmas,” Daisy whispered, her excitement obvious in her voice. Karen woke up a bit more at the reminder, turning back to face Daisy with an excited grin. “I’m cold, let me in,” Daisy whined playfully. Karen lifted up her blanket, allowing Daisy to slip under beside her. The two girls cuddled up together for warmth, stuffies captured between their bodies.
“What are you most excited for?” Karen asked quietly, tracing her fingers up and down Daisy’s shoulder.
“Giving Mama her present,” Daisy giggled. Karen had to agree with that, they’d put a lot of planning into picking out the perfect gift for Camila. They’d ended up hand-making her bracelets and soaps shaped like all her flowers. Feeling like even that couldn’t encapsulate what an amazing Mama she was, they wrote her a song too. “Do you think dragons celebrate Christmas?” Daisy asked, stroking the back of Karen’s stuffed dragon, Ziggy. Karen nodded,
“So do bunnies and bears.” Daisy hummed, happy with that response. She moved her head so it was laying on Karen’s shoulder, the two enjoying each other's quiet comfort as they awaited the joys of the day.
Billy came in not 10 minutes later, sighing when he saw Daisy curled up in Karen’s bed. “There you are birdie, we thought we’d lost you.” Daisy looked up guiltily.
“Sorry Papa, jus’ wan’ed to see Ren,” she explained. Billy nodded in understanding, gently stroking her hair.
“That’s alright, you two wanna come downstairs now? Graham’s still asleep, you can go wake him.” Daisy shot up excitedly at this, quickly scrambling out of bed, overjoyed by the idea of getting to jump on Graham’s bed to wake him up. Karen hung back a bit, grabbing her paci and reaching for Billy to hold her hand as they walked downstairs.
After roughly waking Graham up, Daisy entered the living room, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the presents under the tree. “Good morning sweet girl,” Camila cooed, opening her arms for Daisy.
Daisy hugged her tightly, “Morning Mama.” With the whole family gathered around the tree they all took it in turns to open presents. Everything was thoughtfully given and at times messily wrapped. When they were done Daisy looked at the gifts in front of her including a soft toy fox, a bug catching kit, craft supplies and kids books. She couldn’t help the tears from welling up in her eyes, she didn’t think anyone had ever cared about her enough to spoil her so rotten and a sense of not deserving any of it grew in her chest.
“Oh my little bug, what’s the matter?” Camila hummed gently, reaching over to rub Daisy’s back. Karen looked up worriedly from the toy keyboard she’d gotten and was immediately enamoured with.
“Thank you,” Daisy whispered tearily, crawling over into Camila’s arms.
“Oh baby…” She hummed gently, holding Daisy tightly. “It’s no trouble at all. You’re alright.” But Daisy couldn’t stop the tears anymore, overwhelmed by all the love in the room, the genuine care from her family. “Come on,” Camila gently helped Daisy stand up, grabbing her new toy fox and guiding her out onto the front porch. Camila sat on one of the porch chairs and pulled Daisy onto her lap. The cool air was piercing but Camila’s arms were warm and grounding. “It’s alright, you can cry baby, Mama’s right here.” Daisy did cry, pitifully and messily into Camila’s shoulder and the fur of her new fox. But eventually, Camila’s calming presence calmed her down into silent sniffles. “That’s it, you’re doing so well birdie,” Camila praised.
“No one’s ever cared about me this much before,” Daisy admitted quietly, her voice shaking with the remnants of her tears.
“I know my love, I’m sorry. You’re never going to be alone again, ok? Because you’ve got a whole house full of people who’d drop anything just to see your smile,” Camila gently stroked Daisy’s cheeks as she spoke. “And you’re never going to have to doubt how cared for you are, never again.” Daisy nodded. She knew this, she barely had a doubt in her mind how much they all loved and cared for her. It was almost jarring, after so many years of aching for what she now had.
They sat outside for a little longer, Camila just holding Daisy so she could calm down away from the very crowded and overstimulating living room. Eventually Karen came out to join them. “Papa made breakfast,” she informed them, sitting on the chair next to them. Camila smiled fondly at Karen’s new toy monkey which she was proudly carrying with her. “He made waffles Dais, and said we can have syrup!” Daisy poked her head up to look at Karen, rubbing the tears from her cheeks.
“And whipped cream?” Karen nodded affirmatively. She reached out for Daisy’s hand. “Come on, I wanna show you all the cool sounds my new keyboard can make after breakfast.” Daisy slipped off Camila's lap and the three went inside.
“Ren?” Daisy whispered as they walked inside. Karen turned to her,
“Yeah?”
“Can we show Mama her other present first?” Karen nodded, grabbing Camila’s hand and quickly tugging her away from the direction of the kitchen.
“Karen? Where are we going monkey?” Camila asked with confusion.
“Daisy and Ren got Mama another gift,” she explained, pulling Camila all the way upstairs. The girls made Camila sit down on the end of Karen’s bed as they both sat down at the keyboard.
“It’s a song,” Daisy explained nervously, “We wrote it for Mama.” Before the girls even started Camila had tears in her eyes, and by the end they were rubbing pitifully down her cheeks. Daisy panicked, quickly going over to hug Camila. Karen followed suit, burying into her other side. “Sorry Mama,” Daisy whispered.
“Oh no darling, don’t be sorry, Mama’s not sad, I promise.”
“But you’re crying,”
“Yeah baby, but you can cry when you’re happy. Like you were crying before, and sometimes Ren cries when you’re playing. Mama just thought the song was so beautiful and she’s so proud of both her girls.” Camila punctuated her point with a kiss to the top of both the girl’s heads. “Let’s go get breakfast before the boys eat it all up.”
Breakfast was filled with so much laughter Daisy forgot about any prior tears, and enough syrup that the girls needed a bath before they could go back to playing.
They spent the rest of the day in front of the fire, playing with their new toys and listening to new vinyls. By the time evening rolled around Daisy was too tired to fight it, her eyes fluttering as soon as Camila pulled the blankets up over her. “Did you have a good day baby?” She asked gently, kneeling beside the bed. Daisy nodded sleepily, sucking her pacifier.
“Best Christmas ever,” Daisy affirmed with a yawn. Camila smiled, pressing a kiss to Daisy’s temple.
“I’m glad Birdie. Merry Christmas, Mama loves you.”
“Merry Christmas Mama.”

When Teddy had asked you to open for Daisy Jones and The Six on their world tour, you had been nervous to say the least. You were still pretty new to the music industry, and despite having gone on a tour of your own, you were anxious. You were honored that Teddy would even think of you to do this, but you didn’t like not being in control, and, honestly, you felt intimidated by the members of the band, and… well, you knew damn well what happened when you felt intimidated.
Still, you would be beyond goddamn stupid to pass up an opportunity like this, so you had nodded and told Teddy, “yes” anyway.
Teddy drives you to the music studio to meet the band a week before the tour is scheduled to begin. You tap your fingers on your thighs, and the anxiety rolls off of you in waves as you fight to cling to your bigger headspace.
Teddy watches you out of the corner of his eye. He may have only known you for a little over a year, but he can spot the signs of someone regressing from a mile away, and not for the first time, either. “Hey, kid?”
You snap your head to the side to answer him. “Mhm?”
He doesn’t want you to feel like he’s calling you out, so he doesn’t ask the direct question that he wants to. “You feeling okay?
Words are too hard to form, and they get caught in the back of your throat when you try to push them past your lips, so you just settle on a shrug and a nod.
Teddy doesn’t push. He doesn’t want you to feel called out or like he’s judging you, because that’s the last thing he is doing right now. “It’s alright, you know.” You raise a brow, not following his train of thought. “If you’re not feeling okay, I mean. It’s alright to be scared.”
You sigh. “‘M not scared.” Your voice sounds meek and small and you mentally slap yourself for not managing to hold it together.
Teddy chuckles, but it’s not done in a malicious way. He just finds it amusing that you’re trying to deny the very obvious truth. “Alright, kid, whatever you say. But try not to stress over it. Daisy, Billy and the rest of the band may put on a big, bad front, but they’re harmless.” He pauses. “Well, for the most part, anyway.”
You laugh.
Teddy smiles to himself before hesitating. “Kid?”
“Mhm?”
“Would it make you feel better if I stayed while you all got yourselves acquainted?”
You raise a thin brow. “Surely you have more important things to be doing.”
Teddy shrugs. While there’s an air of truth to what you say, he would much rather be there just on the off chance that you do slip in front of the others. “Nah,” he blows a raspberry and parks his car outside of the studio. “So, do you want me to stay?”
You don’t want to seem like a child (and maybe that has something to do with the fact that you still have a tad bit of shame tied to the fact that you age regress), but Teddy is offering, and you really dont want to go in there alone, so you nod. “Is that okay?”
Teddy kills the engine and opens his door as you do the same. “‘Course it is, kid.” He deposits his car keys into the back pocket of his jeans and holds open the door to the studio.
You both step inside, and almost immediately, you can hear shouting from one of the break rooms. Teddy sighs, and your anxiety spikes as you wipe your damp palms in to your skirt. Placing a reassuring hand on your arm, he leads you towards the break room.
You try not to think of the horrible memories that the shouting stirs up in you. Instead, you focus on Teddy’s steading presence beside you, and the way your sandals feel against the carpet.
The shouting doesn’t stop, even when you and Teddy step into the break room. A woman with flaming locks of red hair, who you almost instantly know is Daisy, and a man with a broad stature, who you would assume to be Billy, continue screaming at one another. Billy’s up in Daisy’s face and you try not to shrink in on yourself. The rest of the band seem to notice you, and you try to appear bigger than you feel.
Teddy squeezes your arm reassuringly before clearing his throat. The arguing dies down and both Daisy and Billy whip their heads around, their eyes locking on you and Teddy. “You guys done?” He asks, voice bored.
Daisy’s cheeks are flushed red from screaming and Billy runs a hand through his curls in frustration. The band are scattered around the break room, watching both you and their lead singers with interest.
“Who’s this?” Billy snaps, gesturing to you.
Teddy frowns at his sniping tone. “This is the support act for your tour.” His voice is sharp and leaves no room for argument and Billy seems to pick up on this, because his demeanour changes and he lets out a resigned sign. “Are you two done fighting yet?”
Daisy huffs and resists the urge to roll her eyes. Her eyes linger on your frame, as if shes sizing you up. She seems satisfied with what she sees and she offers you a genuine smile. In a few quick strides, she crosses the perimeter of the room and pulls you into a hug. You freeze, caught off guard for a second, before you melt into her touch. Daisy feels warm and safe, and you find it ten times harder not to slip. She smooths her hand up and down the length of your back before pulling away and holding you at arm’s length. “I’m Daisy. It’s so nice to finally meet you!” She grins like a Cheshire Cat. Her eyes are so full of wonder and child-like light that it makes you wonder if she’s a regressor, too.
Before you can even give her your name in return, she steers your attention towards the other members of the band and points to them in turn. “That’s Karen. She’s our keyboardist.”
Daisy points to a blonde who’s watching your interaction with her head tilted to one side. Karen offers you a warm smile and crosses her arms over her chest as she analyses you.
“That’s Eddie. He’s our bassist,” Daisy says, pointing to a guy who looks up from a sheet of paper at the sound of his name. His hair is unruly and he arches a brow in your direction before offering you a curt nod.
Daisy continues going around the room and introducing you to the band. Warren, their drummer, has a mustache and is tapping a rhythm on the table with his drumsticks. Graham, Billy’s brother and the guitarist, has long curls and a lopsided smile.
Daisy turns to Billy and actually does roll her eyes this time. “And that’s Billy. A bit of an entitled prick, so if he gives you a hard time, just come to me and I’ll sort him out for you no problem.”
You laugh, making note of her offer in your head.
Billy narrows his eyes at you. “Well, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, we have some practicing to do. So, if you don’t mind…” He gestures to the door.
Daisy scoffs. “See what I mean? You can stay if you’d like. We’d have no objections.”
“Thank you for the offer, really, but I should probably get going. But it was really nice to meet you all!”
Daisy gives you one more hug as you wave goodbye to the others and slip out of the break room. Teddy closes the door behind you both, and gives you a smile. “See? Harmless.”
You hum your agreement, smoothing out the creases in your skirt.
Teddy drops his voice an octave. “You did good in there, kid.”
Your brows furrow. “How do you mean?”
Teddy hesitates before shrugging. “I know you wanted to slip, but you didn’t. I know that takes a lotta effort when you’re scared or feel anxious, so… well done.”
Your mouth hangs agape. “How did you—”
Teddy laughs. “Don’t worry about that. But just so you know, if you ever need a place to go or just somewhere to have a break, my door is always open. Got it?”
Your heart feels lighter as you answer. “Got it.”

Little Daisy pt.10
Little Daisy meets Mama Cami for the first time.
It’s been soo soo long since I wrote for my sweet baby Daisy and I’ve missed her
Trigger warnings: swear word :0

The phone was ringing. The phone was ringing and Billy was still in the shower.
Daisy looked nervously between the bathroom door and the phone beside the bed.
The phone was ringing and Billy was in the shower and Daisy felt too little to know what to do. The phone was so loud and annoying she just wanted it to stop. Daisy reached over, picking up the phone, glad when it finally stopped ringing. “Hello?” She answered quietly, pressing the phone to her cheek. There was a moment of silence from the other end and Daisy began questioning who would be calling Billy’s hotel room at 10 am anyway.
“Daisy?” The voice on the other side responded. Camila. Oh. Daisy hummed affirmatively, rolling over onto her back. She knew Camila was aware of her regression, but they’d never really interacted while Daisy was little. “Daisy, what're you doing with Billy’s phone?” There was a tone of uncertainty in her voice which went straight over Daisy’s head.
“Billy in the shower,” she answered, sounding very small but knowing through the phone Camila probably wouldn’t be able to tell.
“Why is Billy in the shower?” Daisy froze, fiddling with the phone cord. Billy was in the shower because while he’d been having a nap Daisy had drawn on his face with marker.
“He cleanin’ marker off his face,”
“Oh?”
“He was sleepin’ and, and Karen wasn’t here, so I drews pretty flowers on his cheeks,” Daisy giggled, instantly warming up to Camila. Camila laughed back softly over the phone. “M, used pinks and purples, even yellow!” Daisy exclaimed, reaching across the bed to grab her markers again.
“You like drawing, huh?” Daisy nodded, forgetting that Camila couldn’t see her response.
“Billy said it was pretty,”
“Oh I’m sure it was. What’s your favourite colour to draw with?” Daisy thought for a moment, she had a yellow marker in her hand right now.
“Lellow.” Yellow, Daisy thought, was not only the happiest colour but it also drew the prettiest things. The sun, the middle of flowers, Karen’s hair, Apollo’s fur.
“That’s a great choice, darling, yellow is a great colour,” Camila praised. Daisy grinned, happy she’d chosen a good colour. The shower water turned off and a few moments later Billy emerged.
“Fuck, Daisy, who’s there?” He asked, towel drying his hair.
“Mila,” Daisy answered. “Billy said a no-no word,” Daisy giggled to Camila through the phone before holding the phone out to Billy. Billy took the phone and began talking to Camila. Daisy rolled across the bed, stretching out her limbs. Apollo was lying across the floor and she slipped off the bed to lay next to him, burying her face in his soft fur.
When she heard Billy biding Camila goodbye, Daisy poked her head up over the edge of the bed. “Mila bye bye?” She questioned, holding out her hand.
Billy smiled, “of course, you can say bye baby.” He gently patted the spot next to him. Daisy pulled herself up and crawled across the bed, curling into Billy’s side. She pressed the phone to her ear.
“Would you want to draw wif me sometime? You can use even my lellow marker?”
“I’d love that darling,” Daisy hummed happily.
“Soon,” Camila promised.
“Bye-bye Mila,” Daisy smiled, waving the hand which wasn’t holding the phone.
“Bye bye Daisy.” Daisy decided then that Camila would be a good friend, she’d said she’d want to colour with her sometime so that definitely put her in the good books.
***
A week later, Karen was helping Daisy get ready for their show when there was a knock on the hotel room. Karen put down the eyeliner, kissed Daisy’s forehead and went to open the door. There was a moment of quiet conversation before Daisy’s curiosity got the best of her. Daisy poked her head around the corner, peaking in on whoever Karen was talking to. When she heard Camila’s voice she immediately came out from hiding, slipping up next to Karen.
“Hi Daisy,” Camila greeted. Daisy grinned, excitedly flapping her hands by her sides.
“You can say hi baby,” Karen assured her, knowing Daisy could get a bit anxious being little around other people. However this was not the case around Camila apparently as Daisy immediately threw herself into Camila’s arms. Camila laughed softly, wrapping her arms around Daisy.
“Hi,” Daisy babbled, sounding very small. She took Camila’s hand, dragging her inside the hotel room. “I gots colouring books,” she explained happily, remembering their phone call. “And crayons or markers. Lots of lellow,”
“Oh really, I bet you’ve got heaps! But it looks like you’re getting ready right now,” Daisy stopped, pouting and turning to Camila.
“No, I don’t need to get ready,” she stated matter of factly. Personally, Daisy was not very bothered by the one sided cat eye look.
“Actually, you do,” Karen laughed softly. “Just five more minutes then you can show Cami whatever you would like.” Daisy scrunched up her nose in disappointment and crossed her arms. Karen held out a hand which Daisy reluctantly took, following her back to the vanity. Getting ready was so boring. “Just stay still for five more seconds,” Karen promised. Daisy began counting down from five quickly, Karen tutted softly. “Alright, not quite five seconds.”
While Karen finished her makeup Camila began taking out Daisy’s braids. Daisy tried super hard to stay still. Though it was hard and she had to keep swinging her legs because otherwise she thought she might just burst. Daisy picked out some little flower clips for her hair and Karen and Camila put them in for her. As soon as they were done Daisy was out of her seat and grabbing her colouring books off the bed. “I got this book with flowers which is my bestest one but you could use it,” Daisy offered, holding her colouring book out to Camila. “Ma can have the animals one because it is your favourite,” Daisy added, offering a colouring book to Karen too.
“Which one will you use?” Camila asked, taking the offered colouring book and sitting on the hotel bed.
“I do one with you?” Daisy asked.
“Of course, little one.” Daisy grinned happily and curled up on the bed next to Camila. Karen smiled at the sight of her baby and her best friend curled up together. She sat down on the other side of Daisy, smiling when the red haired girl immediately reached out to hold her hand as she looked through the colouring book with Camila.
“15 minutes then we have to go down for the show ok?” Karen reminded her, knowing otherwise they’d forget and literally have riots in the stadium across the road. Daisy huffed but nodded, pulling out her crayons and picking a colouring page she wanted. Daisy handed Camila a pink crayon and took a yellow one for herself.
“Wha’s Ma doing?” Daisy questioned, poking her head over Karen’s shoulder.
“I was gonna do this puppy dog, what do you think?” Daisy nodded eagerly, pleased by Karen’s choice.
“Mila and baby gonna do this one,” Daisy grinned pointing to the page she’d chosen. The page had a singular flower in the centre which was surrounded by little bees and butterflies.
“Good choice Daisy-Bird,” Karen praised. Daisy rested her head on Camila’s shoulder as she began to colour with her non-dominant hand as it was the only one which was free - the other occupied by holding onto the hem of Camila’s shirt.
Daisy and Camila had filled in three pages of the colouring book in fifteen minutes - Camila had coloured in and Daisy had scribbled over the top of it. Still, Camila promised to take them home with her and put all three on the fridge.
“Will you watch me tonight?” Daisy questioned as they walked towards the rest of the band, she was walking backwards haphazardly so she could face Camila.
“Of course I will,” Camila smiled warmly. She placed a hand on Daisy’s shoulder to turn her around. “I’ll be cheering the loudest for you Bebé.”
***
Daisy loved being on stage. She loved singing her songs, she loved getting to jump and spin, she loved being cocooned by sound. It felt like she was flying. Freedom. Camila seemed to stand out like a shining light amongst the crowd, Daisy couldn’t help but wave at her between songs. It was exciting being little on stage. Sure, the whole world was watching but nobody cared if she jumped around and sang at the top of her lungs. When she was on stage they liked it. It was really just Daisy, her band and the music she loved with her whole soul.
***
Camila somehow managed to make her way backstage just as the band got off. Daisy managed to beat Billy to Camila’s arms, throwing herself against the brunette. “Did you see? Did you see?” Daisy questioned giddily.
“Of course I saw Bebé,” Camila smiled proudly. Daisy hummed happily, resting her head on Camila’s shoulder.
“Do I get a turn with my wife now?” Billy teased playfully. Daisy shook her head and pouted at Billy.
“I’m having baby cuddles right now,” Camila tutted with a smirk, pressing a kiss to the top of Daisy’s head.
“Yeah, baby cuddles,” Daisy parroted, sticking her tongue out at Billy. Billy placed a chaste kiss on Camila’s lips and Daisy pulled herself away with disgust on her face. “Icky!” She groaned, turning to Karen. “Ma, Billy icky!”
Karen, Billy and Camila chuckled at the little’s disgust at the affection. “Oh you tell him,” Karen encouraged, wrapping an arm around Daisy as they walked further from the stage. Daisy dropped her head onto Karen’s shoulder as they walked. “I’ve got a sleepy girl haven’t I?” She cooed.
“Nuh-uh.” She whined, rubbing at her sleepy eyes. As the adrenaline of the show wore off the exhaustion did begin to hit but Daisy didn’t want to go to bed she wanted to be able to stay up and play with Camila!
“Daisy bug, you’re so sleepy. Don’t you want a nice bath and a bottle?”
“Bath and bottle then play?” Daisy suggested as she suppressed a yawn.
“Bath and bottle then bed,” Karen corrected. “You can play in the morning.”
“Play with ‘Mila?” Daisy questioned sweetly, not liking the idea of her new friend leaving overnight.
“Yeah we can play together in the morning Daisy,” Camila promised, placing a gentle hand on Daisy’s back. “But you have to go to sleep for Karen first, yeah?” Daisy nodded eagerly.
“I go sleeps straight away!”
Karen laughed, shaking her head in amusement. “Camila, we need to keep you around more, this monkey never agrees to sleep.” Daisy giggled, imitating monkey noises. Karen smirked and tickled Daisy’s side, “Where’s Daisy gone hm? And where did this silly monkey come from!” Daisy squealed, jolting away from Karen and hiding herself between Camila and Billy.
“Save me!” She squealed, holding onto both of their hands.
“Always,” Camila promised with a soft laugh, shielding Daisy in her arms.

Little Daisy Pt.6
The aftermath of Daisy’s overdose. Featuring lots of much needed comfort for baby Daisy <3
I’d recommend reason the first 5 parts but this can also be read as a stand alone! Don’t question how I got this one done so fast after the last one… I swear I do actually have a life outside of writing fanfics.. kind of
Tw: drug mention, overdose mention, age regression (don’t like, don’t read.), my lack of editing skills

Daisy knew as soon as she woke up that something was very, very wrong. Her head was rumbling with bees and her chest ached like she could’ve been shot. The world felt blurry and she wasn’t sure exactly where she was. At first she thought she might be in Karen’s bed back in Laurel Canyon, no, not there… she hadn’t been there in a long time. Why did she think she was there? It smelled like it, apples and almonds. Karen. She peeked her eyes open and once the world stopped spinning she could see blonde hair and soft rosy cheeks… not Nicky, Karen. She breathed an instinctive sigh of relief.
“Ka’en,” she whined, her voice sounded rough as it grated through her aching throat and dry lips. Everything hurt, she wanted to bury herself against Karen’s chest and pretend whatever was ripping its way through her body was far away.
“Good morning baby,” Karen cooed, gosh had Daisy missed the gentleness in her voice. Daisy knew, deep down, that this wasn’t their normal anymore and that something had to have happened to her to be with Karen right now but she didn’t care. Karen was there and she could make everything feel better, that was all that mattered. Karen carded her fingers through Daisy’s hair, alleviating some of the pressure which was pounding on her scalp. Daisy slipped her thumb into her mouth which she wasn’t technically supposed to do but the soft sucking motions helped too.
“What happened?” She asked quietly around her thumb. Everything hurt and she just wanted Karen to make it better.
Her chest was uncomfortably tight and anxious, the whole situation felt off and the flickers of memories from the night before were scary. “You overdosed baby,” Karen hummed gently, attempting not to scare her. She began rubbing soft circles against Daisy’s shoulder. Daisy frowned, it all felt too grown up of a problem for her to handle at the moment.
“M sorry,” she whimpered, looking up at Karen. Karen’s eyes were red, it looked like she might have been crying, Daisy felt bad she hadn’t meant to hurt anyone.
“No, Daisy, it’s ok. You’re ok now.” There was a knock on the door, it rattled and bounced around in Daisy’s skull. “Come in,” Karen called out, Daisy hid her face against the blonde's shoulder.
“Is she alright? Billy told me what happened,” it was Graham’s voice, he sounded scared. Daisy peaked out from under her bangs slightly to see Billy behind him, he didn’t look awfully happy either.
“Graham, I told you to leave them alone,” Billy hissed quietly, placing a firm hand on Graham’s shoulder. Daisy blushed, pulling her thumb from her mouth and burying her face against Karen’s shoulder with embarrassment.
“It’s fine Billy.” Karen said, continuing her soft circular motions on Daisy’s back. “Graham, Daisy is going to be fine, she just needs some rest.” Daisy wasn’t sure if that was true, everything felt very big and scary but she wanted to trust Karen, she needed to trust Karen.
“Can we get you anything?” Graham asked, he was shifting from foot to foot nervously like he’d suddenly picked up on the fact he was missing a few key pieces of information.
“Could you grab the bag from the end of my bed? Maybe Billy could help,” Karen gave Billy a pointed look, “maybe he can explain some things too,” Billy nodded in understanding. It seemed pretty pointless to hide everything from the others now, Graham clearly knew something was going on and the next few days were going to be hard enough for Daisy without having to keep hiding from everyone around her.
“Sure, yeah, anything else?”
“No, I think we’ll be ok.” Karen began gently running her fingers up and down Daisy’s arm. Once Graham was gone she poked her head out from Karen’s shoulder. She tried to open her eyes but everything felt too bright and blurry. “You’re ok Daisy-Bird, just rest now.” Daisy hummed softly, wrapping herself as tightly around Karen as she could. Her mind felt distant and heavy.
Daisy lay in silence, slowly breathing in and out as if it was the only thing she could do. She could hear movement around her, Graham coming back, having a hushed conversation with Karen and then leaving again. But she couldn’t find it in her to move.
The next thing she knew Karen was tugging her hand away from her mouth. Daisy whined at the loss of contact, peeking her eyes open slightly. “It’s ok baby, I’ve got your paci, doesn’t that sound nicer?” Karen slipped the soft teet into Daisy’s mouth and she hummed contentedly, suckling softly at the silicone. Next Daisy could feel the soft ear of her stuffed bunny being stroked against her cheek. She reached out instinctively and held onto the soft toy.
“You kept her,” she whispered, slightly disjointed around her pacifier.
“Of course baby,” Daisy could feel her eyes welling up. “Oh, hey, don’t cry my love,” Daisy shook her head harshly, looking up at Karen. She could’ve been crying about anything - the insurmountable pain she was in, the fact that Nicky was gone, but the tears were those of guilt. How had she denied herself of this for so long?
“Sorry,” she whimpered, because she’d been so dreadful, not just to herself but also to Karen who was here consoling her despite it all.
“It’s ok, Daisy I promise, we’re gonna get through this.” Karen gently shifted Daisy so she was laying on top of her - allowing Karen to rock her back and forth gently. There were plenty of things that Daisy wanted to say at that moment but her words felt very far away. Graham returned shortly after, he was holding Daisy’s sippy and she blushed furiously. Despite the anxious feeling that curled in her stomach at being seen by Graham she didn’t drop her paci or Dusty. Graham handed the drink to Karen, his eyes sweeping over Daisy with gentle concern.
“Graham got you some nice cool apple juice baby, you wanna tr?” Karen urged gently. Daisy rubbed the ear of her bunny soothingly against her cheek before mumbling around her paci,
“Fank you Grah’m.” Her throat hurt so much.
“No problem kiddo,” Graham smiled softly, squeezing her shoulder gently. Daisy began drinking her juice, the cool sweet liquid like ice over her burning throat. “Rod said team meeting in an hour, to figure out what to do about tonight,”
“Do I have to be big?” Daisy asked Karen with a pout.
“No baby, you’re ok. Thanks Graham.”
“Call if you need anything.” Once Graham was gone Daisy leant back down against Karen.
“Am I in trouble?” Daisy asked innocently, her wide doe eyes damp with tears.
“No baby you’re not in trouble,” Karen assured her, rocking gently. “You’re shaking, do you feel ok?”
“Nuh. Everything feels icky.” Daisy always ran hot. Shorts and a tank top in the middle of winter. It was the drugs, everyone knew that. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt so cold. The chill burrowed down in her bones so far that the warmth of Karen’s embrace couldn’t reach it.
“I bet it does baby, how about a bath? We could have bubbles?” Daisy perked up slightly at the idea.
“Think they have strawberry bubbles?” She asked, chewing at the tip of her sippy cup,
“I’m not sure, how about I go check?”
“Daisy come too?” Daisy asked, wrapping her fingers around the sleeve of Karen’s shirt anxiously.
“Just stay here for a moment while I run the bath, I’ll leave the door open so you can see me,” Daisy frowned but nodded and slipped off Karen’s lap, holding Dusty tightly to her chest for comfort. It felt really scary for Karen to get out of the bed, mainly because she thought that if Karen left she wouldn’t be strong enough to run after her. But it was ok because she kept the ensuite door open just like she’d promised.
“Alright little duck, ready for a bath?” Daisy grinned, quacking playfully and reaching out to Karen. Karen took her hands, gently supporting her to walk into the bathroom. She didn't mind Karen helping her undress, she didn’t think she’d be able to do it herself anyway.
“I missed you,” she mumbled as Karen guided her into the bubbly bath tub which did in fact smell of strawberries.
“I missed you too kid.”
***
After her bath Karen braided Daisy’s hair and laid out some of her favourite colouring books and crayons. Daisy was happily filling in an ABCs colouring book when there was a knock on the door, Billy.
“Hey D,” he smiled softly, Daisy only looked up from her drawing for a moment to smile at him. “The rest of the band is up, Rod wants a decision about tonight,” He was talking to Karen now, which was ok. They were grownups so they could handle all the hard decisions.
“Ok. Daisy, can you stay here while I go talk to some boring adults?” Karen questioned gently. Daisy’s brow furrowed anxiously.
“Nuh,” she whined, reaching out to grasp the hem of Karen’s shirt. Karen couldn’t leave her, she just couldn’t.
“Baby, I need to talk to the band. Either I go out or they come in?” That sounded very scary. Billy was ok, and Graham too, but the idea of everyone seeing her while she felt so small? No way. Karen could see the conflicting emotions on Daisy’s face and cupped her cheeks gently. “I’ll be gone for five minutes, you can count on the clock, yeah?” Daisy nodded hesitantly, she probably could. “I bet you couldn’t fill in a whole colouring page in those five minutes,” Karen dared with a grin. Daisy smiled at the challenge, letting go of Karen’s shirt to pick up her colouring book.
“I could!”
“You really think so?” Daisy nodded certainly.
“Ok then, I’ll go have a really boring grown up conversation and you prove that you can do a whole drawing before I’m back.” Daisy nodded, happy with their terms. She absolutely could do it. “Ok baby I’ll be back in a minute.” Karen kissed the top of Daisy’s head before leaving.
“Where’s Daisy?” Eddie asked when Billy and Karen walked out of the room, deliberately only opening the door as much as necessary so that nobody would look in.
“Resting.” Billy huffed shortly.
Karen rolled her eyes at their highly unproductive antics. “So, can we cancel the show?”
“We’ll have to, I can’t go on without her,” Billy frowned decidedly,
“We can’t not go on! It’s a sold out arena!” Eddie added with frustration. He turned to Warren for backup who just shrugged.
“So? Tickets can be refunded, they can be refunded right Rod?” Billy questioned,
“I mean, no, probably not.” Rod rubbed her head tiredly, clearly worn out.
Karen shook her head with irritation. They were really worried about ticket sales right now? “Daisy isn’t going on stage, I don’t care what else happens.” The rest of them could go on stage and sing old Mac Donald had a farm for all she cared, the only thing that mattered to her was Daisy.
“We cancel the show.” Billy stated, effectively ending the argument with only a groan of a reply from Eddie.
“Right then,” Rod nodded, “I’ll call the boss.” Rod left quickly, Karen couldn’t blame him, the tension was awfully uncomfortable.
“So can we see her?” Warren asked,
“No.” Karen and Billy responded quickly and in time. They shared a look, realising they probably weren’t doing the best to keep things hidden.
“We have the day off, why don’t we go out somewhere?” Graham asked, directing his question to Eddie and Warren. He shot a knowing glance at Billy and Karen as he led them away.
***
Daisy had been very focused on her colouring in, she wanted to make Karen proud of her. Still, she’d heard the raised voices in the hallway. It was scary, she didn’t like the idea of everyone fighting over her. She tried to remember that Karen and Billy would take care of everything for her, they always did, but it was still a bit scary. When the two grown ups came back in the room she’d just finished her page. Perfect.
“Karen, Karen!” She grinned happily, flapping her hands by her sides.
“Yes my love?” Karen smiled, coming over to the bed and sitting next to Daisy.
“I finished.” Daisy held up the book, displaying her colouring in. It was a picture of a dog with some flowers around it. “I chose it ‘cause it has a puppy,” she explained.
“Oh wow Daisy, you’re too talented,” Karen praised. “Hey Billy, come look at what Daisy’s done,” Billy walked around the bed, smiling animatedly when he saw Daisy’s work.
“Woah, Kiddo, isn’t that awesome,” he held out a hand and Daisy high-fives it proudly. “Are you hungry?” He asked as Daisy put down the colouring book and curled back against Karen’s side. Daisy thought for a moment, her tummy hurt a little bit and she kind of only thought apple juice sounded very yummy. She knew Karen and Rod always said she needed to eat more so she thought maybe she should say yes. She nodded, not moving from Karen’s side. “What would you like then? Anything you want, I’ll get it.” Daisy but her lip, that was a big question.
Eventually she decided on an answer, “fries?” She questioned.
“Good choice baby,” Karen cooed, rubbing Daisy’s back. Daisy beamed proudly.
“Fries coming right up.” Billy saluted playfully before leaving, Daisy giggled at the gesture.
***
Billy returned shortly after with bags seemingly containing much more than just fries. Clearly having visited a nearby newsagents on his way back.
“You spoil her rotten,” Karen tutted, though there wasn’t much behind her words as they all knew she did the same.
“Look at that face, how can I not?” Billy teased, poking Daisy’s cheek playfully. Daisy scrunched her nose and giggled.
“What’s in the bag?” She questioned eagerly.
“Why don’t you open it?” Billy suggested as he poured the fries out into a plate for Daisy. Daisy reached into the bag, the first thing she pulled out was a book.
“Fantastic Mr Fox,” she read out slowly. She held the book up excitedly to show Karen. She liked the tree on the front, it looked like it would be fun to climb.
“That’s right Daisy-Chain,” Karen praised. Daisy very carefully laid the book down between them before reaching back in. Her fingers grazed against soft fur in the bottom of the bag and she quickly pulled it out. She gasped in awe as she saw the stuffie, a soft dog with a mottle of brown, white and orange fur. Daisy’s heart fluttered at its gentle face and she quickly pulled it to her chest. It looked exactly like the one from her colouring page earlier.
“Thank you,” she whispered, rubbing at her eyes which had grown teary.
“Oh Daisy, don’t cry,” Karen hummed gently.
“Sorry,” she hiccuped, “I just, love him, so much,” her words were broken up with shaky breaths as she buried her face in the soft toy. It was clear her emotions were heightened after the events of the previous night, Karen and Billy were both just glad that while she was little it was far easier to cheer her up.
“I’m glad you like it, little one,” Billy smiled, squeezing her shoulder gently.
“‘Ank you Billy,” she whispered.
“No problem.” Billy placed the plate of fries and Daisy’s sippy cup which he’d filled with a vanilla milkshake. She took the cup first, drinking quickly.
“Slow it down kiddo,” Karen tutted warningly, “you don’t want a bellyache.” Daisy did as she was told. She slumped against Karen’s shoulder, sippy in one hand and new toy in the other.
“What will you name your puppy?” Billy asked, getting out a burger for himself and Karen.
Daisy thought for a moment, it was a very big responsibility naming a dog. She put her sippy cup down, holding the stuffie in both of her hands and analysing it closely. “Bowie,” she decided. Bowie. He would be her new best friend.
🐶🖍️🧃🫧
Hopefully all that comfort helped after all the hurt in the last part 🫣 also isn’t Bowie so cute?? He was @half-eclipse ‘s idea!!

content warnings (chapter specific): all works on this page are sfw. reader regresses as both a coping mechanism and a trauma response / reaction to extreme stress. reader typically regresses to around five or six and is little quite a lot of the time! little!daisy. cg!karen. reader is embarrassed about her regression and tries to hide it. daisy is like a big sister and is a bit bossy but its all good <3
author's note: hi hi hi! i'm an age regressor however i am still learning terminology and how to cope with this myself. if anything i say is in any way shape or from hurtful please dont hesitate to let me know or correct me as my intentions are not to harm anyone! i'm still learning so please be gentle with me! if there are any other content warnings you think should be added pls lmk! aspen out <3
Karen went for a nap when you hit the road, so you and Daisy have been keeping yourselves busy with an array of sticker books on the recliner sofas.
You find it easy to be small around Daisy. Maybe ‘cause you’ve had a long week or maybe because its just easy to be small around Daisy, because she is small, too. Neither of you are holding the other to impossibly high standards to act like adults. Instead, you let yourselves act however you see fit, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
You find that Daisy’s a bit bossy, but you’re not really complaining. She’s not mean, just assertive, anyway, so you don’t have a problem with that.
“No, this one goes here, silly,” Daisy instructs, guiding your hand to put a sticker of a horse on the page. “On the grass, not the sky.”
Karen materializes in the doorway separating the main area of the tour bus to one of the ‘bedrooms.’ She cocks a hip and tilts her head to one side as she watches Daisy and you play with the stickers. A tiny smile plays on her lips as she adds two and two together. Its not hard to see; you’re not as good at hiding it as you think you are. She tip-toes across the room before crouching down in front of the recliners you and Daisy are sitting in.
Daisy’s face lights up as she sees Karen but she stays put and giggles as you press a sticker onto her cheek. You’re too engrossed in the sticker book to even notice Karen is there until Daisy pipes up. “Hi, ‘Ren,” She giggles.
You rear back as if you’ve been slapped and clear your throat, trying to make yourself big again. You mindlessly play with Bambis ears— Daisy was true to her word and surrendered her favourite teddy over to you to play with, and even sleep with, too.
Karen laughs and reaches out to ruffle Daisy’s mane of red curls. “Hey, baby.” Shes kind enough to act as if she hasn’t noticed you playing with Bambi. “What you guys up to, hm?”
You clear your throat again in the hopes that your voice won’t sound as childish when you answer her. “We were playing with stickers.” You mentally slap yourself when you fail miserably and sound even smaller than you feel.
Karen doesn’t say anything about it. She simply nods her head, listening intently, and continues carding her fingers through Daisys hair. “That sounds fun. I reckon you girls must be hungry, huh? Do you want me to make you both a snack? What do you fancy?”
Daisy perks up at the idea, eyes shining wide with a mix of excitement and hunger. “Sandwiches?”
Karen grins. “I think I can rustle something to that effect up, yeah.” She turns to you. “Sandwiches sound good to you, honey?”
Your heart melts at the nickname and it makes you want to sob. No one’s ever been this nice to you before and it feels strange. Not in a bad way, though. You don’t want Karen to know. Not yet, at least. “I’ll make something later. Don’t worry.”
Karen raises an eyebrow. “Neither one of you have eaten since we left Cali. That was hours ago. Honey, you must be starving.” You shake your head, but she’s never been one to give up easily, so she takes an angle that she hasnt had to use in a while; bargaining. “How about I make ya a sandwich, anyway, but you don’t have to eat it, m’kay? It can just be there if you get hungry. How does that sound?”
Youve always been stubborn but even more so when you are small. You psych yourself up to protest again but she fixes you with a firm but kind look that has you sighing and relenting. “Okay.”
Karen smiles softly and reaches out to give your knee a reassuring squeeze, testing the waters to see how you’ll react. She knows some littles don’t like physical touch, while others crave it, so she just wants to see what will work for you and what doesn’t. When you don’t shrink under her touch or pull away, she makes a mental note of it, tucking the information away into her mind. “What would you like on it?”
“Peanut butter and bananas,” Daisy cuts in, peeling a sticker off the page and pressing it onto Karen’s cheek before reaching for her hand.
Karen laughs and lets Daisy hold her hand. “I know what you want, baby. You’re a creature of habit.”
“What kind of creature?” Daisy wonders aloud. “Oo, can I be the Loch Ness Monster?”
Karen ducks her head to hide her smile. “Sure, baby. You can be whatever you wanna be.”
“Do we have jelly?” You pipe up, hiding Bambi behind your back so Karen won’t see it (which, in all reality, is a futile attempt, because she’s been watching you with the stuffed animal for the last ten minutes). “Strawberry?”
Karen can’t help but smile as she nods her head. “Yeah. We have strawberry jelly. Is that what you want?”
You shrug. “I’ll make one later. Was just wondering is all.”
Karen hums non-committedly. It’s clear that she doesn’t believe you, but she’s not going to call you out on it like she would Daisy. Although she has her guesses, she doesnt know just how little you are or how you will react if she says the wrong thing. She has to wait it out until she knows you a bit better.
Without saying another word, she stands up and moves to the little kitchenette off to the side, where she pulls a loaf of bread and the condiments out of a cupboard.
You and Daisy go back to playing with the sticker books. Deep down, you know you’ve been caught out— it does not take a genius to figure that one out— but ignoring it and denying it if confronted seems like the best option for the time being.
Karen soon comes back to the recliners with two plates. You try to ignore the sandwich and the expectations that come with it as she sets the plate on the wooden table in front of you.
Daisy practically inhales her sandwich before it has even touched the table. The crusts are cut off and it’s cut into star-shapes.
“Little bites,” Karen chastises gently. Daisy slows down and Karen smooths her hand down the length of her back soothingly. “Like that, good job.”
Daisy seems to get bored of the sticker books and pulls out a tangle toy to keep her hands busy as she eats.
You don’t want Karen to get suspicious, so you inch the sticker book away from you to make it look like all this time you were just helping Daisy. You lean back in the recliner, feeling the smooth leather under your skin. You can feel Karen watching you out of the corner of her eye as you curl your hands under your head and drift off to pass the time.
You must be out for a few hours at the very least because the next thing you know, Karen is hovering over you and shaking you awake. Her expression is soft as you stir and rub the sleep out of your eyes. “Hey, sleepyhead,” Karen murmurs, voice gentle as she props herself on the end of the sofa. “We’re at the store. Daisy said something about wanting to show you something inside? I said I’d try and wake you up first, because she would’ve body-slammed herself onto you given the chance.”
You laugh softly as you sit up, trying to get a solid grip on your surroundings. “Mhm. Sounds like Daisy.” You mutter fondly.
Karen chuckles under her breath. “Yeah.”
As if summoned by her name, Daisy exits the bathroom, wiping her damp hands down the front of her blue denim dungarees. Her face brightens when she sees that you’re awake. “Ready to go?” She flops down beside you.
You nod and blink the remaining sleep out of your eyes again as you run a hand through your hair in an attempt to flatten it out.
“C’mon then,” Daisy takes you by the hand and pulls you to your feet carefully. Karen blocks her path before she can get far and she huffs. “What, ‘Ren?”
Karen arches her brow. “That’s a lot of attitude, don’t you think?” Daisy shuffles on her feet and Karen drops it. “I’m giving you twenty minutes on your own, okay? I’ll wait outside of the store for you, and if you’re not there in twenty minutes, I’m coming in and finding you. Got it?”
Daisy resists the urge to roll her eyes. “Okay, ‘Ren, I get it.”
Karen’s lips twitch as she presses a chase kiss to Daisy’s forehead. “Alright. You head off then, sugar. But the two of you are to stay together, alright?”
“We’re big girls, ‘Ren!” Daisy insists. She huffs and puffs but takes your hand anyway, leading you inside the store.
Karen lights up a cigarette and shouts after the two of you. “Twenty minutes!”
“Twenty minutes!” Daisy echoes back, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she tugs you through the aisles.
“What’re we doing here, Daisy?” You ask, eyeing up the rucksacks that she’s stopped in front of.
Daisy does roll her eyes this time. “We’re making you a go-bag, silly.” She says, practically bursting at the seams with excitement at the idea. “Now, pick a rucksack.” She nudges you forward with her hip.
You tentatively pick up a black rucksack and peer inside. It’s big enough to hold all the things you’ll need, so you hold it close to your chest. “This one.”
Daisy doesn’t berate you for how simple it is. Instead, she takes your hand and wanders around the store until you stop in another aisle. “Do you use pacifiers?” She asks quietly. You shrug, heat rushing to your cheeks, and she takes that as a yes. She snatches up a purple one and moves onto the next aisle.
By the time you both make it to the register, your go-bag is well and truly prepared, with things from coloring and sticker books to fidget toys, to crayons and a few stuffed animals of your own. The cashier packs all your items in to your rucksack and, with one minute to spare, you and Daisy leave.
Karen’s waiting outside of the store, golden hair shining as the sun-light catches it. Her eyes land on the rucksack clutched in your hand, and although she has an idea what is inside, she doesn’t comment on it. “Did you girls have fun?”
“So much fun, Ren!” Daisy rambles about the upcoming tour as she takes Karen by the hand and the three of you make your way back to the tour bus.

Little Daisy and Papa Billy
Little Daisy is BORED so Papa Billy offers to play yea party with her !!!
Word count: 880
“Papa!” Daisy whined, stomping down the stairs. She was bored. Mama and Ren were out so there was nothing to do.
“Yes Daisy?” Billy sighed, looking up from his book.
“I’m bored,” she huffed, flopping down on the couch over his legs. Billy chuckled, ruffling her hair.
“You have about a thousand toys, D, go play with them.” Daisy threw her head back and whined.
“‘S no fun to play bys myself.” Karen was good at playing make believe with their stuffies, and Mama would help Daisy do drawings and crafts but Papa was boring. All he ever wanted to do was read big books and do other grown up things.
“I’ll play with you,” Billy offered, putting down his book and taking off his reading glasses. Daisy’s face lit up with excitement at the offer.
“Really, really?” She gasped, sitting up and swinging her legs against the edge of the couch excitedly.
“Sure, why not?” He shrugged.
“Thank you Papa!” Daisy exclaimed excitedly, grabbing Billy’s hand and dragging him up to her bedroom.
“What are we going to play?” Billy asked, Daisy thought for a moment, looking around her natural disaster stricken bedroom floor. Her eyes locked on the tea set Camila had given her which was displayed along the windowsill. It was covered in little daisies and had been a present from Camila to celebrate the end of the tour. Daisy wasn’t really supposed to play with it by herself because she broke the last one but Papa was here so it was ok.
“Tea party!” Daisy declared excitedly, kicking a pile of clothes off to the side so there was space to set up. Billy got the tea set down and arranged it on the floor. “Papa you can’t go to a tea party looking like that,” Daisy asserted, shaking her head disapprovingly. Billy chuckled.
“Shall I go put on a tie?” He offered. Daisy nodded, pushing him out of the room.
“An’ jacket please Papa,” she ordered.
Billy ducked into his room, grabbing a tie and jacket which arguably didn’t exactly match his jeans and tshirt but Daisy wouldn’t mind. When he returned Daisy had shut the door so he knocked. “Daisy-Chain? Can Papa come in?”
“One second,” Daisy called back in a sing-song voice. A few moments later she swung the door open. She’d put a long skirt over her overalls and clipped two matching red polka dot bows in her hair. She grinned toothily at Billy and pulled him towards the tea party which had now been added to with all of her stuffies. “You can sit between Bowie and Dusty,” She instructed as she sat next to Bailey the bear. Billy took his place as instructed, groaning a bit as he sat cross legged. Daisy giggled, offering him an empty tea cup.
“Why thank you princess Daisy,” He smiled, pretending to sip from the cup. Daisy’s eyes lit up with an idea and she quickly scattered across the floor to grab her and Karen’s dress up box. She pulled out the kids makeup set and two dress up tiaras.
“One for Papa an’ one for baby,” she grinned, putting a tiara on Billy’s head and one on her own. “Now princesses.” Billy chuckled with amusement.
“You’re such a wonderful princess, Daisy-Chain.” Daisy blushed proudly, opening the makeup kit.
“Careful with that,” Billy warned.
“Shush Papa, I knows what ‘m doin’,” Daisy dismissed.
“No makeup on the stuffies though, ok? Just pretend, make up is only for human faces.” Daisy nodded in acknowledgment as she pretended to put makeup on her stuffies. Once they were all done she turned to Billy.
“Papa turn?” Daisy asked sweetly.
“Sure thing,” Billy agreed. Daisy picked up the eyeshadow brush and used her hand to forcibly close Billy’s eyes. At first he thought nothing could go wrong until it was too late and he realised Daisy was actually putting makeup on his face. “Daisy?” He questioned opening his eyes.
“Papa pretty,” she grinned, bouncing on her knees. She held up a little hand mirror to Billy’s face - it was covered in glittery splotches of pink and blue.
“Papa is so pretty,” He chuckled. Daisy nodded, pretending to sip from her teacup.
“Does you like it?” She questioned excitedly.
“Oh, Daisy, Papa loves it.”
Around ten minutes later the door opened and Camila peaked her head in, having to hold back a laugh at the sight of her husband covered in glittery kids makeup and wearing a tiara. “Princess Daisy, who have we got here?” She smiled.
“Princess Papa!” Daisy exclaimed, clapping happily.
Karen slipped into the bedroom and crawled up onto the bed, a smile visible around her thumb at the sight of Daisy and Billy’s tea party. “Did you do the makeup all by yourself Daisy?” Camila cooed. Daisy nodded excitedly. “Aren’t you so talented birdie.”
“Mama and Ren wanna play tea party too?” Daisy questioned, turning around so she was facing Karen. Camila and Karen both agreed, taking a seat amongst the stuffies whilst Daisy re-arranged the set up so they could each have a teacup.
They played tea parties until Karen and Daisy were both yawning and then Camila and Billy (with some resistance from Daisy) managed to put them both down for a nap.

Little Daisy Pt.7
Once she begins to get sober-ish Daisy struggles to control her regression because her emotions are all over the place.
I’d recommend reading the other parts first but this works as a stand alone!!
Tw: drug references
Word count: 2059

The thrum of adrenaline was still coursing through Karen’s blood as she walked off stage. It was less the thrill of performance and more the rumbling of the crowd which roared around her. Even off stage the dull thrum of the audience begging for an encore was consuming. Billy grinned as he turned around to face the band. His face was damp with sweat and glowing with joy. Since Daisy had been doing better, so had their shows. It seemed like he was about to suggest they did go back out, usually just he and Daisy would go and sing a song or two. But his face faltered and Karen quickly followed his line of sight.
Daisy was almost frozen in place, jaw slack and hands fluttering rapidly by her sides. She looked very far away. Her eyes were glassed over and it was immediately clear that she’d fallen into a younger headspace. Karen quickly slid up next to her. She placed a hand on each of Daisy’s shoulders, grounding her back with them. When Daisy’s eyes settled on Karen she relaxed significantly, shoulders slumping and lip wobbling as tears threatened to spill. People were bustling around them, preparing to guide out crowds and bump out equipment. It didn’t matter though, in that moment all that mattered to Karen was Daisy. Daisy pushed herself against Karen’s chest, basking in her soft warmth and trembling in her arms. She gasped painfully, wrapping her fingers desperately around the fabric of Karen’s shirt. Karen began to put the pieces together. Daisy usually only ever got this upset when she was little, if it was this close to the end of the show she must’ve been on the verge of regression for a while.
Then Daisy let out a soft whimper which all but confirmed Karen’s theories and shocked her to her core.
“Ma,” she whimpered quietly in her Karen’s ear, voice shaking and desperate. Karen froze. Daisy had never called her that. Part of her wished she never would again. Not because it had upset her or made her uncomfortable. But because she knew it meant that wherever Daisy was inside her head, it was very far away. Karen’s arms instinctively tightened around the girl, pressing Daisy’s head against her shoulder. It seemed that the motion kicked everyone into action. Billy and Rod were immediately by their side, guiding them towards the green room, Billy’s, though since she’d stopped using so much, Daisy’s too.
They quickly shut the door, blocking out the sounds of the crowds and the workers. Now all that could be heard were Daisy’s laboured, shaky breaths. “Here we go baby,” Karen soothed as she guided Daisy over to the couch. Now that it was a bit quieter Daisy at least seemed to be coming back to herself. Karen sat down next to Daisy on the worn leather couch. “Where’s my little girl?” Karen asked gently, carefully smoothing her sweat-dampened bangs out of her face. Daisy let out a shattered breath, collapsing against Karen’s side. Her hands were trembling and her shoulders racked with her tears.
“Sorry,” she choked, her throat feeling tight and raw. Her tears were rolling down her flushed cheeks, stinging slightly.
“You don’t need to be sorry my love.” Karen wrapped her arms around Daisy, pressing her lips softly to the top of her head. Daisy slipped her thumb into her mouth, Karen wanted to object but she didn’t have Daisy’s pacifier and she hadn’t worn the necklace during the performance. She knew the repetitive motion was comforting for Daisy, that it made her feel small and safe. “I bet it was really scary wasn’t it? Feeling little on stage?” Daisy nodded against Karen’s shoulder.
“So loud,” she whimpered sadly, scrubbing roughly at her cheeks with the palms of her hands.
“Oh I bet, but you were so brave,” Karen praised. She gently moved Daisy’s hands away from her cheeks and tenderly wiped the tears away herself. Daisy moved one hand to clutch the fabric at the collar of Karen’s shirt, entwining her fingers with the delicate silk of her black tank top. The other hand returned to her mouth. It had always been a possibility, Karen supposed, that Daisy would regress on stage. They spent so much time performing and she knew Daisy had been struggling with the songs and their connotations now that she was actually lucid. Still, it had to have been terrifying. Her chest ached for Daisy. The last little while had been a roller coaster of emotions and she knew the girl was struggling more than she let on.
There was a knock on the door and Karen gently pried Daisy’s hand away from her mouth. “Come in,” she called out. Billy opened the door just enough to slip in. He held up the small, brown leather shoulder bag which they kept Daisy’s little items in. When Daisy saw it she gasped happily, sitting up and reaching out for Billy.
“Hey kiddo,” Billy cooed softly.
“Hi,” Daisy whispered back timidly. Billy handed her the bag which she immediately drew her pacifier from. The difference it made was palpable, Daisy was almost lighter now she felt comfortable. Karen rubbed her back comfortingly and pulled out Daisy’s stuffed lamb, Stevie. She nudged it against the girl's arm gently. Daisy giggled softly and wrapped the lamb in her arms.
“She was little on stage,” Karen explained quietly to Billy as Daisy occupied herself with her belongings. Billy sighed, shooting a worried glance at Daisy. “She’s ok now, but…”
“Yeah, not exactly safe,” Billy sighed.
“No,” Karen nodded in agreement.
“This hasn’t ever been an issue before, we don’t think it’s just a one time thing?” Billy sat down on a stool across from the couch.
“She’s never been sober enough for it to be a problem,” Daisy looked briefly between the two grown ups. There was a part of her mind which told her she needed to listen to what they were saying because it was important and about her. But that part of her mind made her stomach ache and her head feel too busy. Karen absentmindedly carded her fingers through Daisy’s hair as she spoke to Billy. It made her feel small and safe, she could let the adults figure out the hard stuff.
“We’ll need to talk to Rod. It might be a good idea if we tell the others what’s been going on, too. It’ll be safer if there are more eyes on her.” Daisy didn’t think she needed to be watched, she was very responsible. But Karen hummed in agreement with Billy. She turned to Daisy.
“Is that ok with you little duck? If we tell Warren and Eddie?” Daisy squirmed, it sounded scary. Well, not too scary but a little bit. Graham had been very nice to her when he found out. He’d even hung out with her a few times since then, it was fun. She didn’t think Eddie and Warren would react badly, but the idea of making that choice felt big and scary. She whined and leant against Karen.
“You choose,” she whispered, wanting someone else to handle the big decisions.
“I can’t choose for you baby,” Karen laughed softly, shuffling Daisy over so she was sitting on her lap and looking at her.
“Can,” she whined,
“I can tell you what I think but I want you to make the decision, because it’s about what you feel comfortable with. Nothing else.” Daisy pouted but nodded, fiddling with the bottom of Karen’s shirt. “I think it’d be a good idea to tell the boys so they can keep an eye out too. Plus, then you wouldn’t have to hide so much when we’re home.” That did sound nice. Really nice. Daisy nodded. She lay her head against Karen’s shoulder.
“I wan’ ‘m to know but I don’t wanna tell them…” she explained. The words felt big in her mouth. If they reacted poorly she didn’t want to be there. She didn’t want to have to be grown up and explain the hard stuff.
“That’s ok, we can talk to them, just like I talked to Graham,” Billy explained, reaching over to rub Daisy’s back. Daisy hummed in agreement. That sounded good. A little bit scary but she knew that if Billy and Karen thought it was a good idea they were probably right. Daisy yawned, nuzzling her face against Karen’s shoulder.
“Alright, I reckon it’s bedtime,” Karen decided, sliding Daisy off her lap and standing up. Daisy nodded and held out her hand for Karen to hold. She was exhausted. She knew she wouldn’t get to sleep for a long time, possibly not at all. But she was ready to get out of her clothes from the show and crawl into bed. Karen might even let her have some juice, which felt like the most exciting thing that could possibly happen. Karen slipped the pacifier and Stevie into her bag before leading Daisy out of the room.
The boys were still waiting sidestage when they found them. “You didn’t have to wait,” Karen smiled, still holding Daisy’s hand.
Eddie shrugged, “we didn’t know how long you’d be and we didn’t want the bus to have to go back and forth between here and the hotel,” he explained. Graham’s eyes locked on the way Daisy was grasping Karen’s hand and he softened in understanding. Daisy noticed, shyly hiding herself further behind Karen.
Billy placed a hand on Warren and Eddie’s backs firmly. “Graham, Karen why don’t you take Daisy ahead to the bus while I talk to the guys?”
“Good idea, Billy,” Karen nodded, wrapping an arm around Daisy’s shoulder and guiding her ahead. Graham caught up to them, walking silently beside the pair. As they walked Daisy took Karen and Graham’s hands on either side of her, swinging them back and forth rhythmically.
***
When they got back to the hotel the boys (minus Billy) went to some party or another but Karen went straight up to Daisy’s room with her. Daisy felt a little guilty about it, that Karen could’ve been out partying and having a good time but was instead braiding her hair and reading bedtime stories. Karen simply smiled and told Daisy that there was nowhere in the world she’d rather be. It was hard not to trust Karen when Daisy felt little, she truly believed Karen knew what was best for her.
When Karen turned out the lights and lay down next to her, Daisy found that she couldn’t sleep. There was too much energy bustling around her body, too many thoughts fluttering around her head. What if she could never fall asleep? Karen's body was warm next to hers, and still. Daisy wondered if she also felt like there were a thousand bees thrumming in her chest. Their hands were entwined because that’s how Daisy liked to sleep. But she couldn’t, she just couldn’t fall asleep. She turned to Karen, her face illuminated by the soft glow of the bedside lamp. Her eyes were closed but Daisy figured she probably wasn’t asleep yet.
“Karen?” Daisy questioned experimentally, testing whether she was awake.
“Yes Daisy?” Karen responded without opening her eyes.
“Do you think Eddie and Warren were ok with it? With me?” She asked nervously, fiddling with the ear of her stuffed dog.
“I’m not sure, I hope they are.” Karen began gently rubbing the thumb of the hand holding Daisy’s over her knuckles. “But there’s no point worrying about it now, all we can do is get some rest.” Daisy nodded, rolling onto her back.
Rest. She could do that.
“Karen?”
“Yes Daisy?” Karen yawned, opening her eyes this time.
“What will happen if I don’t fall asleep?”
“You’ll be tired tomorrow, that’s all, nothing bad.”
“I don’t wanna be tired,”
“Then you can sleep on the bus tomorrow, it’ll be ok.” Daisy thought for a moment, she supposed it was true. The worst thing that could happen if she didn’t sleep was that she’d be tired. Not the end of the world. “Anything else on your mind?” Karen asked, turning her head so she was facing Daisy.
“No,” Daisy shrugged.
“Ok, goodnight then my love.” Karen closed her eyes again, rolling back over.
“Karen?” Daisy called out again quietly, shuffling over the bed so her chin was pressed against Karen’s shoulder.
“Yes Daisy?”
“I love you,” she whispered with a smile.
“I love you too little one.”

Little Daisy Jones pt.4
Daisy regresses in the studio with Billy for the first time
I’d recommend reading parts 1, 2 & 3 first but this also works as a stand alone!

“Daisy? Have you got anything new?” Billy asked, looking up from his notebook. They were supposed to be working on the next song for the album, so far all they had were the lyrics “Why I floated, why I reached towards the moon,” which in Daisy’s defence she’d come up with. Unfortunately however, after that all she had were scribbles and poorly drawn flowers.
“No,” she huffed, Billy peaked over to her notebook and Daisy blushed, quickly snapping it closed and hiding it from his sight. Billy sighed irritatedly.
“Daisy, I know you’re still new to this whole ‘working together’ thing but you do actually have to focus,” His tone was mean and his raised voice made Daisy’s tummy ache. “We’re never going to finish this album if you’re off doodling all day.” Daisy didn’t think that was very fair - she’d come up with the first lyric anyway. “Daisy? Are you even listening to me?” He snapped, he sounded so angry and it made Daisy want to cry.
“Sorry,” She murmured, looking down as tears burnt in her eyes. It wasn’t her fault! She was too little for this and she just wanted to go back to Karen. Billy’s face instantly flickered with regret as he saw the tears burning in Daisy’s eyes.
“Don’t cry Daisy, it’s fine. I’m sorry I yelled. I’m just tired,” He sighed, rubbing his forehead. It was too late though because there were already tears pouring down Daisy’s cheeks. She wanted to go home. Or hide, she really wanted to hide. She could feel Billy’s eyes on her and it made her skin crawl. Everything felt like it was all too much, he could not see her like this. Quickly, she jumped from the stool she’d been sitting on and slipped into the small gap between the armchair and the wall, curling her knees up to her chest and burying her damp face against her hands. The firm pressure on either side of her shoulders was comforting, nothing could hurt her here.
“Oh shit.” Daisy could hear Billy’s footsteps approaching and she lifted her hands up over her mouth, she had to be very quiet l, maybe then he would forget she was there… ok yeah, maybe he wouldn’t. “Daisy?” Billy called out gently as he knelt in front of the gap. Daisy pushed herself right back against the wall, her head was thrumming uncomfortably but the cool wall against her back was soothing. “Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Daisy frowned, rubbing harshly at her damp cheeks.
“Sorry, I’ll be good,” she whined, gnawing roughly on her thumb nail. Her other hand traced the ribbed green pattern of the sofa. It was rough against her fingers, grounding her.
“You weren’t bad, I just,” He sighed tiredly and Daisy could recognise the exhaustion in his body. “Julia just didn’t sleep very well last night, I’m sorry I took it out on you.”
Daisy frowned, looking up at him. “Karen gets grumpy sometimes if I don’t sleep, it’s ok,” She offered, reaching out to pat his shoulder. Billy gave her a confused look,
“Karen?” Daisy nodded with a soft hum,
“She needs lots of coffee in the morning, have you had coffee?” Daisy questioned innocently, shuffling onto her hands and knees so she could crawl out of the small space.
“No…” Billy looked confused, Daisy wasn’t very sure why - maybe he preferred tea? Billy wasn’t so scary now that she really thought about it, he was kind of just like Karen - who wasn’t scary at all - just a bit rougher and he kinda smelt funny if she was being honest.
“I want some juice,” Daisy shrugged, “maybe you could get some coffee?”
“Yeah, ok,” Billy nodded. He looked less confused now which Daisy assumed was a good thing.
He followed her wordlessly to the little kitchenette just outside the recording room. It wasn’t much, just a small fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine. Daisy kinda wished she could use her sippy which was in her bag but she wanted Billy to think she was grown up. She opted for a plastic cup because then it wouldn’t matter too much if she dropped it, still she held it with both hands just in case. Billy followed her advice and made a coffee which made her beam with pride as she sipped her apple juice on the small sofa.
“I’m sorry I made you cry before,” Billy apologised as he sat down on the couch next to her. Daisy just shrugged, she didn’t really want to talk about it again.
“It’s ok, lots of things make me cry,” She didn’t want Billy to feel bad, it wasn’t his fault she hadn’t been paying attention. She began picking at the knee of her jeans, nervously. “M’ sorry I’m not very good at working together,”
“Oh kid, no,” the name felt foreign from Billy’s mouth and made Daisy squirm uncomfortably like he could see right through her - of course he could. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
“Did you write any lyrics?”
“A few, nothing amazing,” Billy shrugged.
“Can I see?” She thought maybe if she saw his lyrics she could probably build something off it.
***
Billy had a few lyrics scribbled down, they batted around with wording and a few riffs for a bit but Daisy grew bored quickly. She began chewing on the bottom of her pen which Billy quickly discouraged.
“You done?” Daisy nodded. She dropped her notebook next to Karen’s keyboard, lightly tracing her fingers over the keys. “Daisy?” Billy questioned hesitantly.
“Yeah?” She looked up at him, lacking his usual hair of confidence.
“What happened before? When we fought?” ‘We’ was probably a bit of an understatement, to Daisy’s memory it’d just been Billy yelling at her. Still, she trusted Billy - enough - or at least she wanted to.
She looked back down to the Keyboard, it felt almost as though her hand on it made her closer to Karen. “Sometimes… when I’m overwhelmed or really just a lot of the time I suppose. I regress back to a younger age, mentally. I didn’t have a great childhood, you know, not much of a real one at all. Karen usually takes care of me when it happens.” She tried to make it sound nonchalant, like if Billy completely dismissed her it would matter at all.
“Ok.” He nodded, clearly confused but at least he didn’t sound angry. She looked up finally, walking down her anxieties. Billy was watching her, his eyes were gentle. It didn’t feel like much had changed between them. Billy was still Billy, Daisy was still Daisy, the glass separating them was just losing its opacity. “Have you ever played boxes?” Billy asked with a smile, Daisy shook her head, no.
Billy slipped off his chair, patting the floor next to him and opening up his notebook. Daisy stretched out across the floor on her stomach. She reached over to her bag, pulling her small lamb stuffie out. She figured it would probably be ok for Billy to see it if he was going to play a game with her now.
***
When the rest of the band arrived later that evening Daisy was on her back in hysterics and Billy was strumming loudly on his guitar. Karen could see the childlike glimmer in Daisy’s eyes which instantly piqued her curiosity.
“What’ve you kids gotten up to today?” Graham asked, analysing the bizarre scene. Daisy smiled, standing up and hugging Karen. The constant contact between the two had become commonplace, the boys didn’t question it.
“Not an awful lot,” Billy admitted, putting down his guitar. Karen began gently tracing circles against Daisy’s arm, she could tell the girl was in a younger mind space. “We thought we’d re-record some of the drums and bass backings for ‘the river’?” Warren and Eddie nodded, going to set up with their respective instruments.
The rest of the band filed into the control room where Teddy was setting up. Billy and Graham began fussing over the sound board with him. Daisy yawned and pulled Karen down onto the couch next to her. Karen smiled contentedly and slipped Daisy’s legs over her thighs. Daisy observed the boys for a moment, Billy glanced in their direction and she couldn’t help the blush that grew at his knowing look. She’d loved when this was just between her and Karen. Not that this new dynamic was particularly bad, it was just going to take a while to get used to someone else seeing that side of her.
“Good day?” Karen asked quietly. Daisy nodded.
“I told Billy about me,” she whispered back,
“Oh?”
“I was feeling small and he got mad at me, then… I couldn’t make myself feel big again.”
“That’s ok, was he ok with it?” Daisy just nodded. She leant against Karen’s shoulder. Karen began gently carding her hand through Daisy’s hair. Graham was watching them from a distance, though she knew there was no chance he could’ve heard their hushed conversation it still made her want to wrap her arms protectively around Daisy.

Teddy calls you into his office three days before the tour is scheduled to get on the road. He offers you a warm smile and closes the door, gesturing to a black leather armchair opposite his wooden desk. “Sit.”
You warily do as he asks. “Does the label want to drop me or something?” You frown.
Teddy laughs. “No, kid, they don’t wanna drop you. I just wanted to ask you something, if that’s alright with you.” He waits for you to nod before perching on the edge of his desk, keeping a decent amount of distance between the two of you so you don’t feel as if he’s backing you into a corner or anything. “So… I wanted to know how you would feel about sharing a tour bus with Karen and Daisy.”
You cock your head to one side, brows knitting into a tight line of confusion. Despite the fact that you’re feeling completely big and in control right now, you still haven’t got a clue what he is yapping on and on about. “Huh?”
Teddy doesn’t laugh or roll his eyes like you were expecting him to. In fact, you’re almost certain by now that the man has the patience of a damn saint. “I was wondering if you’d be comfortable sharing a tour bus with Karen and Daisy.” He repeats.
You mull the idea over in your head. You had gone out for drinks with Karen and Daisy earlier on in the week when you felt like you could handle it without regressing, and, sure, you had had fun and you liked them, but you didn’t know them, not really.
Teddy waits patiently. “What’s going on in that head of yours, huh, kiddo?”
You huff out a sigh. “I just— it isn’t that I don’t like them. I think theyre really cool. I just—” You pause in an effort to gather your thoughts. “I don’t know if they’d like the idea.” You settle on saying.
“I’ve already cleared it with them. They’re on board if you are.” Teddy says. He hesitates; he can tell that you’re not keen on the idea and he has a gut instinct that tells him he knows why, too. He keeps his voice gentle as he speaks. “Look, kid, if this is about your age—”
“Its not!” You insist, despite the fact that the two of you know damn well it is about that. “I just—” You groan. “I don’t know.”
Teddy smiles reassuringly. “That’s okay. Take your time, kid.”
“I don’t want them to know,” You finally whisper. “I don’t want them to think I’m weird or think I’m any different or incapable or anything,” You say as you fold your arms over your chest. “I didn’t even want you to know— uh, no offence,” You add. He chuckles light-heartedly but lets you finish talking. “I’m not incapable and I’m not stupid. I can do my job. I can.”
Teddy gives you a perplexed look. “I never said you couldn’t, hon. You’re a damn good guitarist and an even better singer. And how your mind responds to things that are thrown your way does not change that. Do you hear me?”
“You don’t think it’s stupid or weird or anything?”
Teddy throws his head back in a laugh. “Kid, I’ve met stupid and I’ve met weird and you are neither of those things. Not even close. Got it?”
You let out a breath that you didn’t even realise you were holding in. “Got it.”
“And just for the record?”
“Mhm?”
“Daisy and the others might surprise you. They tend to be a lot more understanding than you’d think at a first glance.” He smiles. “Look, I understand you’ve got your reservations about being open with someone youve just met. I’m not saying you go out there first thing tomorrow and tell them your deepest, darkest secrets.”
“So… what are you saying?”
“I’m saying give them a chance.”
You suck in a steadying breath and squeeze your eyes closed. “Alright. I’m in.” You pry your eyes open to see Teddy grinning. Biting back a smile of your own, you stand and say, “Don’t you dare make me regret this, okay?”
Teddy starts humming Regret Me under his breath as he shuffles through a stack of papers. “I’ll try my best, kid. I’ll try my best.”
☆・・・★・・・・・★・・・☆
Teddy comes to see you and the band off as you get ready to hit the road. Everyone’s rushing around to triple-check they have everything they need and you watch in amusement from where you sit on the edge of the sidewalk.
Between last minute trips to the supermarket to pick up supplies and making sure your apartment will be livable in for when you return to California, its been a long damn week, and you are feeling smaller than usual as Daisy plops down beside you. Her eyes are hazy and wide, and you wonder if she’s high. “Hey there.”
“Hi,” Daisy says, tapping her fingernails against her thighs. She looks over her shoulder to make sure the other band members are preoccupied before leaning in close to you. “How old are you?”
You momentarily freeze before shaking your head to pretend as if you were registering what she said. “I’m twenty-six. Why?”
Daisy fixes you with a firm look that says, ‘You cant bullshit a bullshiter.’ She glances over her shoulder once more to make sure no one has snuck up on you to eavesdrop. “Alright then, how old do you feel?”
You hesitate. Clearly, Daisy’s smarter than people give her credit for, but that doesn’t mean you want to admit it, so you go down the denial route. “I dont know what you’re talking about.”
Daisy folds her arms over her chest and shuffles a bit closer. “Kay well, I’m twenty six, too, but when I’m stressed or overwhelmed or unable to cope, I can sometimes feel younger. Ringing any bells?”
You purse your lips. “How old do you… feel, then, at those times?”
“Usually between eight and ten. How old do you feel during those times?”
You glance over her shoulder to make sure that your conversation stays private. “Younger.”
Daisy nods. “How much younger?”
You hesitate again. “You’re not gonna… you won’t tell anyone, right?”
Daisy looks almost offended at the insinuation. “Of course not. Your secret’s safe with me. Just… don’t tell the boys about me, either, okay?” You nod and some of the tension leaves your shoulders. Her face breaks into a wide smile. “So, how much younger?”
You sigh, averting your gaze. “Usually around five or six. Sometimes it can go younger, depending on how stressed I feel.”
Daisy nods empathetically. “I get that.” Her eyes light up. “Wanna see something cool?”
You nod nervously. “Yeah.”
She grabs you by the hand and pulls you onto your tour bus. It’s cooler inside and she leads you over to one of the reclining sofas before grabbing a rucksack and holding it out to you. “This is my go- bag.”
“Your go-bag?” You tilt your head to one side as Daisy flops down on the sofa, pulling you down with her.
“Uh-huh. It’s got all my little things in it. Wanna see?”
Your head is fuzzier and your thoughts sticker, and you nod, peeking to see what’s in the bag when she unzips it.
Daisy starts pulling things out and setting them down beside the two of you, rambling off a list of items as she goes. “These are my strawberries; Karen cuts them into star-shapes so I’ll eat them. I have colouring books and crayons and this is my stuffie, Thumper. I have sippy cups and pacifiers for when I feel extra, extra small and I have tangle toys and— oh! Look at this.” She pulls out a rubber necklace, eyes wide and full of child-like excitement. “It’s a chewable necklace. Karen bought it for me ‘cause I used to bite my nails. Do you have a go-bag?” She doesn’t wait for an answer. “We can make you one!”
You frown, eyeing the door worriedly. “What if Karen comes in?”
Daisy shrugs. “Karen takes care of me when I’m small.” She hesitates. “You know, if you wanted to be small, too, Karen wouldn’t mind taking care of you. She likes taking care of people. She told me so herself.” She can see the doubt on your face and she grabs your hand, squeezing.
“I wouldn’t want to be a burden—”
“You wouldn’t be,” Daisy insists firmly, shaking her head. Another question pops into her head. “Can I… ask you something?”
You nod.
“Who takes care of you when you’re small?”
You frown, shaking your head. “How d’you mean?”
Daisy frowns now, too. “Who cuddles you and cuts your food into stars and holds your hand when you walk the street and stuff?”
You laugh. “I do.”
Daisy’s frown deepens. “Why?”
You huff. You’ve never really thought about it, in all honesty. “Well… I don’t know, actually.”
“Do you want someone to take care of you?”
You squirm. “Dunno.”
Daisy can tell her questions are annoying you so she decides to lay off. “Sorry—but if you ever feel little and want someone to take care of you, I can. I wont be as good as Karen but I can try.” She offers.
“You don’t have to—”
“I want to,” Daisy insists. “But I do think Karen would do a better job, so when you’re ready to tell her, we can tell her together if you want.”
“Okay.”
“And until we can get you your own go-bag, we can share. Ill even let you sleep with Bambi if you want to.”
You laugh. “Thanks, Daisy.”
Daisy shimmies her shoulders back and crosses her legs underneath her. “So, let’s make a list!”
“A list of what?” You ask warily.
Daisy can tell you’re slipping further, so she grabs a pad of paper and a crayon from her go-bag, too. “Of things for your go-bag, silly. I’ll do the writing. You just tell me if there’s anything you want added. We will make it our first stop in the supermarket,” she decides.
You nod along, only half taking in her words as you tentatively grab a blue crayon from the box and start shading in a corner of the page. Daisy watches you curiously before smiling and continuing to ramble.
And, for the first time in a long time, you feel safe.
Maybe Teddy was right.
Maybe Daisy and the others would surprise you.
And hell, maybe you could tell Karen at some point. Not right now, but maybe at some point.

CHRISTMAS FIC CHRISTMAS FIC CHRISTMAS FIC
