guys how is billie hindle so cool what the HECK how can anyone be so cool. she portrays alice's balance between wisecracking and vulnerability so PERFECTLY. alice dyer is a really rich character and we havent even heard that much of her in total. she's funny, she's honest, she's loyal, she knows (most of the time) when someone can be pushed around and when they genuinely need support (when she oversteps, her tone changes a bit — she's uncomfortable knowing she messed up — and she approaches the making of amends with the utmost candor). shes one of those people i would be honored to know, who seems like they've got their shit together only because they've spent so long in a "fake it till you make it" mentality. godddd alice dyer there are so many reasons i love u but most of all thank you for fulfilling the much-needed role of pushing gwen's buttons

Fun fact: In Episode 33, you can hear Alice and Gwen having a muffled argument in the background at the start. During recording, @anouchard and I were given carte blanche to improvise a few takes of a prolonged spat and it was the funniest thing ever.

I even improvised a line about a made up external that was basically a Henry Hoover on legs.

genuinely tho trans actors in fictional podcasts are so important.

the first thing you associate with this character is their voice. their voice and how they talk influences how you picture the character. how people interpret the character. and to hear a trans voice simply existing within that realm of fiction- not treated horribly, having friends, having a relationship with their siblings, having a job, making(a lot of) jokes, means a lot to me as a fan.

especially considering the pressure trans women face to have a cis sounding voice, to fit an ideal picture of womanhood, hearing billie hindle’s character be downright hilarious, well received by the fandom, and existing in contexts other than the butt of a joke or for the writers to preach at us.
