Jimin News: Chile & Brazil appear on a special Naver article for their ALL-KILLS!!
BTS Jimin hits South America [Star News | Reporter Moon Wan-sik]
BTS' Jimin shines with an unrivaled presence in the South American music market.
Jimin's second solo album 'Muse' title song 'WHO' ranked 31st on the Brazilian Billboard main single 'Hot 100' chart released on July 30th, the highest debut record for an Asian artist. This is Jimin's second entry, following the pre-released song 'Smeraldo Garden Marching Band' (84th).
On the Brazilian Spotify 'Daily Top Songs' chart on July 24th, he ranked 9th with 725,064 streams, recording the highest daily streaming for a solo song by a K-pop soloist in the history of the chart, recording over 8.7 million streams in just 13 days since its release as of the 2nd. On the 'Weekly Top Songs' chart, it debuted at number 18 with 4,193,935, the highest ranking among new songs, and rose to number 7 with 5,258,803 cumulative streams, breaking the record for the biggest solo song debut by a Korean solo artist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Who' also took first place on Apple Music's 'Brazil Top 100' chart, making it the first and only song to reach first place as a K-pop solo artist. Also, on the 28th, it achieved first place for three consecutive days in all categories: 'K-POP Popular Songs', 'POP Popular Songs', 'General Popular Songs', 'Top 100 Brazil', 'São Paulo Top 25', and 'Rio de Janeiro Top 25', recording an all-kill in all categories for seven days as of August 1st, and taking all 14 of the Top 15 songs in the Apple Music Brazil K-pop category.
The popularity of 'Who', which suddenly rose to fame as a hit song in the passionate country of Brazil, spread to Chile, where it ranked 4th on the Chilean Spotify 'Daily Top Song' chart on the 27th with 303,207, becoming the first and only song by an Asian singer to surpass 300,000 streams. On the 'Weekly Top Song' chart, it debuted at 12th with 1,341,364, recording the highest entry rank for a K-pop singer in the history of the chart. As of August 2, it settled at 4th with 1,510,016, becoming the highest-ranking Asian singer. Also, by ranking first for three consecutive days from the 25th on the Chilean Apple Music Top 100, he achieved the first and only record as well as the longest-held record for a K-pop singer, and after the 28th, he ranked first for three consecutive days in all categories of Chilean Apple Music's 'K-POP Popular Songs', 'POP Popular Songs', 'General Popular Songs', 'Top 100 Chile', 'Music Videos', and 'Santiago Top 25', setting an all-kill record for three consecutive days in Chilean and Brazilian Apple Music.
Meanwhile, Jimin's 'Who', which is causing a sensation worldwide, ranked 12th on the main single chart of the US Billboard on August 10th, rising two places from the previous week and creating a reverse myth, and ranked first on both 'Global 200' and 'Global Excluding the US', becoming the first K-pop solo song to rank first for two consecutive weeks. On Spotify's 'Global Daily Top Song' chart, it has been ranked #1 for 14 consecutive days (July 23 - August 5).

Jikook leaving their mark on the Billboard Year End Charts
Well this started out as a Jikook post but as more info comes in it is clear that all of BTS have had a good year. Looking at the whole chart, it is all the more impressive that they have managed to make a dent in the monolith of the US music industry as solo artists. I feel a celebratory drink is in order. Cheers!

BLACKPINK is the first group in history to simultaneously occupy the top 2 spots of both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excluding US!
This also makes them the first artists with multiple songs to reach Number One on the Billboard Global 200 chart in 2022!
They also join Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo as the only female artists with multiple Number 1 hits on Billboard’s Global 200 Singles Chart history!

Meet the newest rising star, Olivia Rodrigo!
Tumblr media
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was born on February 20th, 2003 to her German-Irish mother and Filipino father in Temecula, California.
Tumblr media
She began singing and taking lessons at a very young age and participated in musicals at her school.
Tumblr media
Olivia’s voice coach told her she was very emotive while singing so she suggested Olivia start acting! She had an appearance in an Old Navy commercial before landing the lead role in American Girl’s “Grace Stirs Up Success” (2015).
Tumblr media
In January 2016, Olivia officially moved to Los Angeles to begin filming for Disney Channel’s “Bizaardvark”. She starred as Paige Olvera on the show for 3 seasons (2016-2019).
Tumblr media
In late 2019, Olivia landed another lead role, this time as ‘Nini Salazar-Roberts’ on Disney+’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”. Season One started airing on Disney’s new streaming service in November 2019 while Season Two is currently in prouduction.
Tumblr media
She had the opportunity to write two songs for Season One of the show: “Just For a Moment” with her co-star and “All I Want”. She wrote the latter by herself in three days and it is certified Gold in the US and Platinum in Canada!
Tumblr media
In January 2021, signed to Interscope and Geffen Records, Olivia Rodrigo officially launched her solo singing career independent of Disney with her debut single “drivers license”.
Tumblr media
The song became a sensation breaking records left and right, garnering attention from some of the music industry’s biggest names (Taylor Swift, 2/3 of the Jonas Brothers, Niall Horan, and Halsey just to name a few), and launching Olivia into the spotlight.
A few of the records she now holds:
•Biggest Single Day Streams by a Female Artist in US Spotify History
•Highest Single Day Stream Peaks in US Spotify History
•Broke her own record about 3 times (I lost count) of the biggest single day streams for a non-holiday song in global Spotify history.
•Fastest song to reach both 100 million and 200 million streams on Spotify.
Tumblr media
“drivers license” shot straight up to #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and became only the third song to to debut at #1 on their Global 200 and Global Excluding US charts! The song also got over 15 #1’s on worldwide official singles charts.
Tumblr media
Olivia Rodrigo has more music coming soon and so many exciting things coming her way! Follow along here for updates on everything she is doing!

Have you seen that Facebook video streams will now also count towards the Billboard charts? I’m curious about how much this will impact the charts.
Billboard article on counting Facebook streams:
Streams of officially licensed music videos on Facebook, which were added to the social platform on Aug. 1, 2020, in the U.S., will soon be factored into the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200, Artist 100 and Billboard Global 200 charts, as well as all other charts that incorporate streaming data, it was announced Wednesday.
The changes will take effect with the charts dated March 27, reflecting sales and streams from March 12-18. Only data from officially licensed music videos will be factored in, with user-generated content excluded from the tallies. Facebook video plays are categorized as ad-supported on-demand streams and represent U.S.-based activity only.
Recent examples of high-performing music videos on Facebook include Alicia Keys’ “Love Looks Better” as well as exclusive premieres from Karol G (“Bichota”), Sam Smith (“The Lighthouse Keeper”) and Phoebe Bridgers (“Savior Complex”). All were boosted by heavy involvement from the artists themselves, who took part in a variety of interest-drivers including live sessions on both Facebook and Instagram, comment thread engagement with fans and custom stickers and effects, among other elements.
IMO, Facebook offering streaming of music videos benefits Facebook more than anything else. Fans on FB are more likely to use personal accounts, rather than fan accounts. They are less likely to be anonymous, and more likely to share their music preferences to their family and friends.
FB has tried to be the all-inclusive social media app, owning WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Getting a foothold in entertainment, especially being able to gather personal data about how entertainment is consumed and shared, makes total sense. The data are invaluable to artists and their labels; they can be used to tailor branding and promotion. The strategy is comparable to what Google and Oak View Group are doing with Demand— using music consumption as a gateway into consumer habits.
For artists, FB is a different demographic than Tiktok or Instagram. It requires a slightly different social media touch. Also, Billboard only counts U.S. streams, so while music videos are available to every FB user, only Americans will have this marketing emphasis.

[BTS News] BTS Jimin, Billboard's 'Hot 100', the only solo Korean song of all time, 'JIMIN PAVED THE WAY'
Tumblr media
"The American music media 'Billboard' recently reported a special article on 'all non-English songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100', and out of 35 non-English songs, only 10 songs ranked first, and the most recent number one was Jimin's 'Like Crazy'. ' (Like Crazy).
So far, BTS's 'Life Goes On' and 'My Universe' have ranked first in Korean songs, and BTS member Jimin's 'Like Crazy' is the only solo singer song. It raised the status of Korean songs
The title song 'Like Crazy', which was included in Jimin's solo album 'FACE', released 10 years after his debut, is a Korean song that Jimin participated in producing. Immediately after its release, it went straight to No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' chart for the 66th time in history, and this is the first new history for a Korean solo singer.
According to Billboard, 'Like Crazy' re-entered the 'World Digital Song Sales' chart at No. 9 on the latest chart dated August 26, breaking the record for the longest time by a Korean solo singer this year, entering the chart for the 16th week and ranking at No. 53 on the 'Global 200', more than last week. It climbed 11 places, and in 'Global (excluding the US)', it rose 10 places to 31st, and entered both charts for 21 consecutive weeks.
'Face', the only Korean solo album to be listed on the 'World Album' chart this week, rose 3 places from last week to 8th, extending his longest top 10 record from 17 weeks to 18 weeks, the longest chart for 21 consecutive weeks. , and ranked 66th in the 'Top Current Album Sales' chart for 21 consecutive weeks, making it the best performance for a Korean solo album.
Meanwhile, 'Like Crazy', which continues to be a long-term hit on charts around the world along with the US, entered the top 10 for 19 weeks at No. 5 on the Billboard Vietnam's 'Hot 100', breaking its own record for the longest Korean solo song, and 'Face' was certified by the French Record Association (Recording Association of France). SNEP) is counting the 'Top Physical Album' chart for 21 consecutive weeks, continuing the powerful solo power."

Bizarrap & Quevedo’s ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52’ Doubles Up Again Atop Billboard Global Charts
The following article has been posted on August 23, 2022 at 02:18PM:
An Overlooked Tracks News Finding: Here’s an article you might have overlooked. Having a partnership with NewsAPI, we try to catch music entertainment news for you to view, read and possibly enjoy. We will continue to find what’s available in the world of music entertainment, concert information and music releases. But obviously you – the listener and reader are the biggest source for news in your area, so if you can share with us. For right now, look at what we found for you:
“From The Billboard Magazine Website – Bizarrap & Quevedo’s ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52’ Doubles Up Again Atop Billboard Global Charts”
Bizarrap, from Argentina, and Quevedo, from Spain, claim the biggest song in the world, as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and a fifth frame atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Plus, Nicki Minaj‘s “Super Freaky Girl” launches at No. 5 on the Global 200 and Steve Lacy‘s “Bad Habit” rises 12-10. On Global Excl. U.S., two songs also make their first appearances in the top 10: Manuel Turizo‘s “La Bachata” (12-7) and Ado‘s “New Genesis” (18-8).
The two charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.
Bizarrap & Quevedo’s ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52’ Doubles Up Again Atop Billboard Global Charts
Bizarrap & Quevedo No. 1, Nicki Minaj No. 5 on Global 200
“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” by producer/recording artist Bizarrap and freestyler Quevedo, spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, as it drew 74.1 million streams and sold 1,200 downloads worldwide in the Aug. 12-18 tracking week. (Bizarrap will speak at Billboard Latin Music Week, Sept. 26-30, at the Iconic Songwriter Q&A, presented by Sony Music Publishing. You can register here.)
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” drops to No. 2 after a record 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Global 200; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” holds at No. 3 after reaching No. 2; and
Bad Bunny’s own “Tití Me Preguntó is steady at its No. 4 high.
Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” debuts at No. 5 on the Global 200 with 35.9 million streams and 52,000 sold (on full-service digital music retailers) worldwide in its first week, following its Aug. 12 arrival. The song, which samples Rick James’ 1981 classic “Super Freak,” marks Minaj’s second top 10 since the Global 200 began, and her top-charting title, after “Do We Have a Problem,” with Lil Baby, debuted and peaked at No. 7 in February.
Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” reaches the region, up 3% to 34.7 million streams and 21% to 1,500 sold globally, becoming his first top 10 on the ranking.
‘Vol. 52’ Tops Global Excl. U.S. for Fifth Week
“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” by Bizarrap and Quevedo rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a fifth week, with 68.8 million streams and 800 downloads sold in territories outside the U.S. in the Aug. 12-18 tracking week.
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” holds at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, following a record 13 weeks at No. 1; Rosalía’s “Despechá” rises 5-3 for a new best; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” slips 3-4, after reaching No. 2; and Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” drops to No. 5 from its No. 4 high.
Manuel Turizo’s “La Bachata” leaps 12-7 on Global Excl. U.S., led by its 18% gain to 35.4 million streams outside the U.S. Among four prior entries, the Colombian singer hit a No. 40 best with “La Nota,” with Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro in November 2020. He has posted two top 10s on the U.S.-based Hot Latin Songs chart, among 20 visits dating to his first five years ago this week.
Also new to the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, Ado’s “New Genesis” vaults 18-8, with 21.8 million streams (up 31%) and 19,000 sold (up 17%). The track by the Japanese singer surges following the Aug. 6 premiere of One Piece Film: Red, as the song serves as the theme to the 15th edition of the One Piece anime movie series. In seven previous appearances on the chart, Ado reached a No. 16 high with her first entry, “Usseewa,” in February 2021.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 27, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 23). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard‘s subscription-based service.
