More bookmarks!
These were also commissioned by my mother, though this time she bought them as a birthday gift for my aunt. It's really about time I open commissions for people other than my own mom lol
The bookmark with the fox and the raven took an insane amount of time, I think I spent 13 hours on it! I was really making sure to pay attention to the details, and to take my time including different species of plants and fungi that can be found in my local area. In the background there are bushes of european blueberry/bilberry, and in the foreground there grows crowberry, clubmoss and twinflower. The mushrooms are penny bun, birch bolete and chanterelle. The big ferns on the left are lady-fern and the small ones on the right are deer fern.
On the second bookmark there's the heads of a red fox and a mountain hare. The plants growing at the bottom are foxgloves and alpine bistort. (in Norwegian it is known as "harerug", directly translated as "hare rye") So both the plants match the names of the animals :)
These were a lot of fun to work on! I'm hoping to make more bookmarks in the future, maybe I could even take commissions online for them, if anyone's interested.

BETTY CROCKER REVIEW 1:
Ikea
After a very interesting dream I (Frances) had, we decided to take a journey to our local Ikea. What we found was far more exciting than we expected. After going through all of the displays, Julian and I decided to take a break at the second floor restaurant. We purchased two swedish meatball meals with two pieces of garlic bread and a very interesting drink. We took a seat next to the window and started digging in. As we ate our dish of peas, meatballs, lingonberry sauce, and french fries (they ran out of mashed potatoes) we realized that this was no ordinary Ikea meal. This was the meal of a lifetime. How do I even begin to describe this scrumptious delicacy that bequeathed our tastebuds at this establishment. First off, the meatballs. A timeless classic, one of the best things this world has to offer, we moaned and groaned with delight after eating these heavenly rounded meats. Next up the french fries, they got wet due to an overwhelming amount of gravy, however, the fries themselves were underwhelming. The Lingonberry sauce was out of place and weird. It got mixed in with the gravy and tasted downright bad. Next, the peas. The peas were absolutely nasty and disgusting and were too soft and bland and dry. Somehow, the pea juice got mixed in with the rest of the food, making the french fries soggy and the gravy all liquidy. The garlic bread had been sitting out for a few days but it was fine. I’m going to end this with a warning. Do not buy the Bilberry drink because they put it with the juice making it look like a normal drink when it is in reality, a sludgy weird concentrate. They are little liars at Ikea and will try to trick, so just beware.

Ikea downstairs restaurant - Julian
After indulging in the delightful meal upstairs Frances and I decided to have a little treat in the downstairs food court. After purchasing a strawberry frozen treat, vanilla frozen yogurt, cinnamon bun and pear Nordic water, we sat down to enjoy our meal in a fly covered table. The pear water was mediocre and tasted nothing of pear, while the desserts were delightful. However, one of the licks Frances had of her frozen treat was crunchy, whatever that means. Frances also ate a cinnamon roll that was okay. Overall the downstairs Ikea foodcourt is an mediocre establishment with reasonable food prices, but less than reasonable quality.

Summers Last Burn prompt one, sunshine for all.
Characters: my human oc Althea, and fairy oc Navi.
General character description: Althea has long auburn hair in two high ponytails, hazel eyes, and a generally pale complexion. Navi has tan skin, royal red hair in a bun with skewers holding them in place, bright blue eyes, and wears a green very short sleeved dress resembling leaves from a bush.

The cloudy weather has been putting a damper on Althea’s summer quite a lot. It’s been a whole two weeks since she saw any reasonable sunshine, and she had so many things planned to do with Navi it was just unfair. There’s only so much left of summer after all.
Sighing, Althea moved away from the window and went searching for Navi.
Because it was summer, Althea got to stay with her grandparents over the summer. They lived in a two story cottage in a secluded, tree filled, and gated neighborhood, and Althea got the privilege of being there with Navi and her grandparents.
After looking around her room a while she got tired and just yelled for her.
“What do you want? I’m trying to relax.”
“Navi you’ve been ‘relaxing’ for two weeks now, it’s time we did something fun while these stupid clouds are here!”
Navi asked what she could be suggesting.
“I think we should try to bring a little bit of sunshine for everyone around the house. Not just my grandparents, but the animals and plants outside too! Like… let’s bring a little sunshine to them all while everything’s all dark and gloomy”
Navi was quiet for a moment…
And then she said yes.
So Navi and Althea went about making poppyseed scones and tea for her grandparents, fertilized and trimmed back the plants around the house, and refilled the bird feeder, and with Navi’s help was even able to get up close to the birds and one sat on her finger. Truly a magical afternoon.
When evening came around Althea realized she wasn’t quite satisfied with her work. Navi chimed in,
“But we already did so much work, where else could we possibly go?”
She made a good point… wait a second,
“The neighbors!!”
The neighborhood was very big due to all the trees, and because of that the houses were spaced apart quite a lot, but there was some neighbors they could walk surprisingly easy to, and they were the Bilberry’s.
They were in their early 80s and lived in a small, one story cottage. They lived so far away from relatives that barely anyone visited them, and while Althea and Navi went three weeks ago, it was high time they did it again.
༛༛ ༛ ༛༺༻༛ ༛ ༛༛
Althea and Navi woke up in the morning and set their plain into motion. They decided to make a wonderful breakfast of egg sandwiches, sweet pastries, and bacon. Plenty of bacon. Althea was a little worried of Navi handling the bacon… turns out a fairy looks threatening holding a giant knife for cutting the bacon.. who knew.
“Alright just about everything is done… Navi, how’s the bacon looking?”
“It’s done, and perfectly cooked if I do say so myself. Let’s pack it all up and take it over”
They put all their goods in a picnic basket and set off walking to the Bilberry’s.
When they got there it was about ten in the morning, perfect for a nice brunch.
Althea knocked on the door, waited a moment, and it opened to Ms Bilberry.
“Why hello there Thea, and hello to you Navi, what brings you here this morning?”
Althea smiled and happily said,
“We made breakfast and thought it’d be nice to have a little picnic outside”
“Oh that’s so kind of you dear, I’ll get Hubert, you girls can go set up on the back porch”
They set up their picnic laying out a classic red checkered blanket on the grass and setting up the food on glass plates(yes they brought glass plates and didn’t break them).
The Bilberry’s soon came out and sat down, and the breakfast/brunch commenced.
Conversation soon started too, and Mr Bilberry said,
“So what have you and your magical friend been up to this summer?”
“Oh many things, mostly just enjoying the weather, casual walks at the beach every now and then, and trying new things we usually can’t back home.”
Navi chimed in,
“But we have big plans this month to do crazy things, like collecting seashells, and watercoloring, and having a huge bonfire!”
Mr Bilberry gave a hearty laugh and said,
“My it sounds like you have quite the plans, would you mind if I joined in?”
“Hubert! Let the girls enjoy their summer, haha. Oh my would you look at that, the clouds are starting to clear up”
And indeed they were. The sun shined brilliantly on the dewy grass, and brought sunshine to the land once again after such a long absence of it.
Soon they were done with their food and packed it all up.
“Well it was wonderful to have you visit us”
Ms Bilberry said sweetly.
And then the two set off back to Althea’s grandparents house.
Navi sighed and said,
“So now that the suns out are we finally gonna get out and have some fun?”
Althea laughed and said,
“Absolutely! Let’s make this the best august ever, with friends and many adventures!!”
And so the human and her fairy friend had many plans for the coming weeks. Who knows what trouble they’ll get into?

33. If you were famous, what do you think you would be famous for? If one can dream I’d say either my work as a conservation biologist (if I ever get to be one) or for some research about ecology, plants or conservation biology (if that’s the path I choose). Or maybe taking some good photos for like a moss flora book or nordic flora book or something. However, being an orienteer (and participating in a few trail running-races) has gotten my name in the local newspaper and local sport blog. And that’s probably as ”famous” as one can say that’ll ever be. I have absolutely no intention to persue an elite career in either of those. In fact, I have no intention to get famous for anything that I do. However, I would not mind being known in biology circuits if it means I’ve brought something good to the field :) 94. Are you more creative or logical? I do sometimes feel like I’ve got a pretty even dash of both, but I think I might be more logical. But honestly, I’m not that certain. Ask me these
