#Repost @docmikeyassonpt (@get_repost) ・・・ Shoulder Pain with Reaching 🙋‍♂️ . 👉Here is a drill where I’m working on proximal stability of my shoulder to help with distal mobility (aka reaching or moving my arm over head). . ☝️I’m working on proximal stability by dynamically challenging my anterior scapula muscles (Serratus Anterior and pec Minor) to be active and create stability with my scapula as I move. By doing that, I’m able to create an optimal scapulohumeral rhythm between my shoulder joint and scapula so that I can minimize any impingement or loss of strength or control as I move my arm away from my body. . ✌️In this drill I’m working several different motions to make sure I have scapular stability and mobility in all planes, since the shoulder joint has the most degrees of freedom of any joint. . 💪If you’re having shoulder pain with reaching in any direction, try this before any strenuous activity such as shoulder pressing, performing a snatch, or throwing a baseball! .
