I had pretty much not noticed that Tim McInnerny was playing Menlove Stokes in this story, and I’m glad, because that allowed me to picture him in my mind the way I imagined him when I read the book. And I had forgotten about the twist ending of the book until we were almost there in the story this time, so that was fun too. Listening to this makes me want to catch up on all the @bigfinishprod novel adaptions. Even more, it makes me want to read the books again. But I haven’t got the time (where’s a TARDIS when you need one?). Plus, reading them again, at my own pace, pulling them out of storage, would never be the same as eagerly waiting for the next one to arrive and reading it as soon as I got it home. I mean, I’d rather have a TV series than a series of books. Today’s @bigfinishprod episode is from an adaptation of a beloved novel frothed Missing Adventures series. The final volume, as it happens, although Doctor Who novels did continue from another publisher. It still felt like the end of an era; Virgin Books had been publishing 2 novels a month for so long, and that truly kept my interest in Doctor Who not only alive, but going strong.
