Since Asagiri won't give you Guild content, I will. Headcanons, but they're based on irl facts I found within 5 minutes of googling. [These are just my hcs you can add your own if you wanna]
Louisa May Alcott 💌
- Louisa and Nathaniel are family friends. Irl, Louisa's father was one of Hawthorne's pallbearers [pallbearer - someone helping to escort of carry a coffin]. In the setting of BSD, their families were in close relations due to operating at the same church. Even though Louisa doesn't remember, Nathaniel often looked after her since the older girls [Louisa's older sister Anna and Nathaniel's older sister Elizabeth] were often helping around with the adults.
- She really likes pulp fiction.
- She's knowledgeable about the medical field. The real Louisa was a nurse during World War 1.
- Speaking of war, Louisa is a major history nerd.
Margaret Mitchell ☂️
- While BSD Margaret dresses like what if Mary Poppins was a British aristocrat, the real Margaret Mitchell actually preferred dressing in men's clothes. Thus, whenever she's not on duty in the Guild, she's chilling in something she stole from Nathaniel.
- She's afraid of fire. Why? When Margaret was a child, her clothing ended up catching fire on accident. She's never been the same since.
- She also has driving anxiety. When she was 12, her dad hit a deer on the road. She's never been the same since.
Nathaniel Hawthorne ⚔️
- Generally avoids discourse about the Salem Witch Trials. An ancestor of his played a big part during it, two others were married to women who were accused of being witches. Thus, he added the 'w' to his last name.
- He's surprisingly good with glasswork. When the real Nathaniel and his wife moved into their home, the etched poems into the glass of the windows.
- For a large part of his life, he lived in a commune.
- Occasionally, he sees ghosts. The real Nathaniel once said he saw the ghost of his friend reading his own obituary.
Edgar Allan Poe 🦝
- He's an orphan. He doesn't tell people that.
- He likes being alone. Until he gets the feeling that someone is somewhere in the room with him.
- Insanely intelligent. He knows exactly what he's doing.
- Very weak constitution. One time, when the Guild were all drinking and whatever else they were doing, Poe blacked out after one drink of wine. Everyone genuinely thought someone tried to kill him until they found out he couldn't handle alcohol.
- Unphased. He's seen it all. Death? Child's play. Heartbeat under the floorboards? Normal Tuesday. Corpse falling off the roof? Crazy. Someone walking into the party dressed in red? Standard party etiquette.
Lucy Maud Montgomery 🪆
- Also an orphan. Doesn't tell people about it.
- Very charming. She can flirt. She just chooses not to. She knows she's too powerful.
- Cripplingly depressed. Self-explanatory.
- Has girl nights with Louisa and Margaret, basically a few hours of them doing girl activities. They tried to summon Bloody Mary at least seven times to no returns.
H. P. Lovecraft 🦑
- Lovecraft has monochromacy, a condition where someone can only see in grayscale. This is derived from irl Lovecraft's "The Color Out of Space," essentially Lovecraft's low education being the reason why he didn't know about the electromagnetic color spectrum.
- He's afraid of crowds. He hates it here so much.
- Has epilepsy. The only thing that can stop this eldrich monstrosity in a human trench coat is the average disco party.
- Loves cats. He is so normal about them. Cats run to him like crazy.
- He glows in the dark. Why shouldn't he? He's earned it. He's also deficient in vitamins science hasn't discovered yet. His ankles popping sound like rogue gunshots.
- AroAce. Intimacy is a concept he doesn't understand and doesn't want to.
John Steinbeck 🌳
- He's very much a dog person. His family keeps dogs. His favorite breed is the Australian Sheep dog.
- He was very sick as a child.
- Really into marine biology. [Steincraft fans stay winning.]
- Before the Guild, he worked as a construction worker, newspaper reporter, and caretaker.
- Ironically enough, he has a pollen allergy. It's not severe, just watering eyes and sniffles. He hates it.
Mark Twain 🔫
- So normal about the ocean. He takes Lovecraft and John with him when he goes boating.
- Into geology. He's the guy who collects rocks whenever he's outside.
- Guild game night isn't game night is Mark isn't beating everyone in every board game to ever exist.
- So normal about cats. The real Mark Twain has 19 cats, all with titles like Apollinaris, Beelzebub, Blatherskite, Buffalo Bill, Satan, Sin, Sour Mash, Tammany, Zoroaster, Soapy Sal and Pestilence to name a few. BSD Mark has one ginger cat he adopted off the streets of Yokohama he names Sal, occasionally calling her Sin whenever she's around Nathaniel.
- He almost drowned twice. One would think that would kill his passion for boating, but he baller'd his way out of it.
Francis S. K. Fitzgerald 🪙
- Dyslexic and in denial. Louisa tried to gently bring it up to him that half of his work email was spelled incorrectly, but he was in denial and chalked it up to it being 3 in the morning when he wrote that work email.
- He worked as a screenwriter before the Guild. Coincidentally, he met his wife there!
- He strikes me as a guy who owns a copy of "A Pickle For the Knowing Ones". If you don't know what that is, please look it up. I promise it's worth it.
- Makes too many dad jokes. John and Nathaniel officially want him dead.
- He forgets to sleep. He just forgets. Even though he looks like he died and got resurrected without prior notice and everyone in the Guild is asking him if he had a breakdown, he forgets to sleep.
Hermine Melville 🐋
- At some point in his life, he lived in the Pacific Islands.
- Hiking enthusiast. He likes the mountain terrain a lot.
- His office smells like smoke. No one knows why. It just does.
- Not much about him to be honest. I wish there was more screentime for him. <//3

Hello! I'm a big fan of your work "Yours Truly" on Ao3 & your character Penelope, probably like the rest of us here!
So, as we all know, Alastor is someone who is on the asexual spectrum– a real shocker, I know! [/s] But there's a question that's been bugging me for a while, and that is 'what sexuality is Nel'? Because I SWEAR on my life I saw a post saying that she is bisexual, but I cannot seem to find it– so I don't know if that's a fragment of my imagination, and I have entirely made that up... Or that's an actual thing that has been stated and I simply forgot lmao!
I hope that isn't something weird to ask! And, if I really DID make that up, then I'm sorry for bothering you with all those questions!
BUT ALSO, just in case my mind isn't actually playing tricks on me- would you say that Nel is 'aware' of her attraction to women? That she recognizes it as the same attraction she feels towards men, as we see with Alastor– or does she pay it no mind? Not in a "actively ignoring it" way, just a "I've never really thought about it for various reasons"– because we do see Nel being quite open minded in your work, like when she confronts Alastor about the altar for his ancestors without any real judgement! She seems very tolerant and willing to learn about the 'unknown'! Did she have a very sudden realization that 'oh shit, (unspecified lady) is HOT what the hell-", or did her attraction manifest in more subtle ways throughout her life? Obviously, I doubt she would ever put a label on her feelings, simply because of the realities of the times in which "Yours Truly" takes place– similarly to how Alastor (even in Hell) isn't aware of the more 'modern' labels for his sexual attraction, or rather the lack of it!
All in all, Nel is an amazing character, no matter her sexuality– you really made her feel like a real person! She doesn't feel shallow or flat like some characters in fanfiction often do– she has both positive and negative aspects of her character, which make her interactions with the people around her all the more entertaining to read! Especially with Alastor– but I must say, I am also a big fan of her relationship with Grace! I am a sucker for siblings that genuinely care & love each other, but who also can be jokingly mean, and well... Act like real siblings would! I find that most fanfictions follow either the "siblings who absolutely despise each (especially if they are both women, for some reason)" trope, or the "siblings who are sickeningly sweet with one another".
I see that I have written quite a long wall of text– I hope I didn't completely bore you out of your mind! Have a nice day/night, and remember to prioritize your health & mental wellbeing! Toodles! <33
I rub my hands together like a grubby little fly.
You didn't make it up! Nel is technically bisexual (and on the aro/ace spectrum). It's not something I've explicitly written in my fic since she's not even aware of it- that lady grew up in the backwoods in the early 19th century USA. Not saying she couldn't figure it out, she just really doesn't think about it? Like you said, Al is like "huh" when his sexuality is labeled, so is she lol. Eventually she might kinda blink and go "oooooooh" but I don't think it's a big spoiler to say she found her person with Alastor, so while it's an important discovery that's part of her identity, she's happily unhappy with that fucker.
But that's not to say she's unaware of the LGBTQ community or that she's discriminatory towards them! Part of her defining personality is that she is very accepting and if Grace came home with a girl she would not bat an eye. Bonus points if the girl can't get her pregnant lmao. Nel thinks a win is a win.
All in all, I'm a lesbian, and the majority of my OCs have a little sugar in their tanks whether they realize it or not (even if they're unhappily/happily stuck with a stinky deer man) <3
Also, I'm glad you like Grace! I know sibling characters can be hit or miss, but she's integral to the story so I couldn't get rid of her.
Thanks for the cool ask :)
#my asks#hey tag readers fun fact!#grace and I share a middle name#lmao only like 2 people know that#now you do too

That little playful flirt didn't go unnoticed and John laughs lightly when he offers Lucy his arm, he guides them to the tall windows, gazing upon the city's landscape under them. "Why it's always talking business with you girls? A guy takes a liking in you and it's a list of questions in your pretty head, I'm simply enjoying to have you around, you're.. beautiful and single and why not!"
What's the catch? John, don't tell me you haven't thought about it too..look at her. It can be the biggest change for you, after Madelyn..
He touches Lucy's elbow and while it may come across as a casual one but it's a way Homelander communicates with the ones he wants to be intimate with. God knows how thankful he is for his gloves, especially when he has to shake hands with some unpleasant people, fingers brushing lightly over the thin skin there, feeling tendons and her muscle "but, after our short interaction today, I thought with myself, I know this girl from somewhere and wow.. aren't you your rich daddy's youngest?" Blue eyes swiftly move to watch Lucy's expression before gliding back to the window, a smirk forming on his lips "but, I get this feeling that you want nothing with your father's business.. illegal labs I recall? Something for creating super soldiers for army?"
Homelander places a hand on her lower back, fingers wrinkles the soft fabric slightly when he gingerly draws her closer, there're ears everywhere "What I offer is, you'll work for me. I want to give Ashley's role to you. That Stan Edgar might be the big boss here but the CEO gets to make contracts or decides the important matters. I saw how you work diligently and Ashley, well.. she's an awful example of a boss but imagine if you'll be in her place.."
He smiles down at Lucy, subtly inhaling her sweet perfume "right now, I need someone smart on my side and who's better than Maclean's daughter? With you, I can have this chance to find a way to the army and maybe, into the government too, you'll be the boss and I'll be your advisor. It's a win-win situation for both of us."
He takes a step back but not too far to lose contact with her, the palm of the hand he has on Lucy's back feeling hot and dear Lord, her eyes are really round and gorgeous this close..innocent like a deer..
"I can be quite a gentleman but now you have me curious to know what else they say behind my back." Back to their previous talk, the smirk turns into a fond smile "ever seen the city from above?"
She'd gotten caught by a few of her more favorable coworkers while she searched for him, their conversation mostly venting about their tyrant of a boss and Ashley. Lucy was glad to be pulled from the chat with Homelander's voice breaking through.
"Well hello," she said, giving him her full attention.
She excused herself from her friends, the trio giving each other confused and curious looks. Lucy and Homelander? And he was in civies?? What was happening? Was the world coming to an end?
"Thanks," she said appreciatively, running her hands over her dress once more and glancing down at it as he checked her out. "I clean up pretty good, huh?" she flirtatiously joked over her usual corporate appearance. "You're not to shabby yourself. The blue really brings out your eyes. I like it," she added, complimenting his clothing choice for the evening.
She thanked him once more when he handed her a drink, a soft blush heating her cheeks when he kissed her hand. She still couldn't believe she was standing here, chatting it up with the lead of The Seven - even if her family was long ingrained into the Vought Industries bank account. And more surprising, he was nothing like what she'd heard when since starting as Ashley's assistant. While she'd caught glimpses of what he was capable of, it was nothing like the maniac her coworkers described. She was curious if there was something she was missing.
"My day was work, but eventful," she chuckled softly. "Some good looking guy asked me out and got me in a little trouble with my boss," she teased gently over Ashley's earlier scolding for talking to him. "I'm definitely fired if she sees me now," she added with a soft laugh, taking a sip of her champagne.
Her finger tapped her glass as she eyed him momentarily. "Can I ask you something?" she said, continuing before he could really answer. "And I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but, you are nothing like I expected. You know, out of uniform," she went on, giving him a quick, knowing smirk, stalling a little. "I just...I guess I...well, I want to know what the catch is? With this," she said with a small motion between the two of them. "I mean, I'm not exactly important in the Vought hierarchy and I'm even less valuable to a supe like you, so, what's the catch? What do you really want with me?" she finally got out, hoping the answer was nothing.

*kicking at your door, smashing it* DING DONG
Hello! 🥰🌸
from "Questions You Should Be Able To Answer For Any OTP" 1,3,4,5,9 and 10 for moanida!😅💜 But you can answer all of them or only few of them is it's too much ahaha
Ily, take care!!
YEAH BOIIII
Coffee shop AU: Who is the barista, and who frequents the coffee shop?
I'm just imagining Moana being a barista at some hole-in-the-wall authentic Polynesian coffee place by the beach, and of course Merida because she damn well needs her caffeine in the morning or she'll pass out, and Rapunzel insists on starting these fucking Squad Beach Days early. Merida was honestly willing to take the first cup of coffee she could get when the gang first went into town, but uhhhhhh oh GOD that girl behind the counter is cute!!! Merida starts "ending up" in there quite a lot, although initially she can barely string a coherent sentence together in front of that cute barista and can't make eye contact for more than half a second. Extroverted as she can be, Merida dissolves into an absolute mess as soon as a pretty girl is involved XD
Merida also pretends to only like black coffee to make herself seem tough, but in reality she kind of hates it and prefers sugar-laden lattes and sweet teas. After a while, when she and Mo have established kind of a friendship, and Merida can have an conversation with Mo without imploding and making an idiot of herself, Mo notices Mer making a face every time she sips her Plain Black Coffee and kinda smirks and is like “You know, there’s no shame in adding sweeteners. I mean, for god’s sake, my favorite drink here is the blonde vanilla coconut latte, and I’m still pretty tough.” Merida is just like “OH THANK GOD” and finally admits that she’d much rather be ordering an Irish crème, toffee, buttered rum, cinnamon, or caramel latte. If the seasonal flavor selection offers any apple-accented or apple pie-esque lattes, Merida’s all about that shit, too! Probably the most “intense” drink Merida actually enjoys is a pretty spicy cinnamon latte. She ends up ordering this pretty frequently to impress Moana with her spice tolerance, even though she really doesn’t need to.
Also, in case there’s any question about it--yes, Moana absolutely memorizes Merida’s orders! Moana also memorizes what flavor syrups Merida seems to like best (i.e. spicy cinnamon, apple pie, caramel, toffee, butterscotch) and gives them extra shots of them in her drinks. When the manager complains about all of Merida’s favorite flavor syrups running out frequently, Moana is like “Oh nooooo, I have no idea why THAT could be! That’s terrible!”
Rivals to lovers AU: Who takes their rivalry seriously, and who is half in it just to push the other’s buttons?
I love the idea of them having a super-petty sports rivalry in a modern AU! Merida strikes me as being competitive as hell, so I’m betting anything she’d be the one to take it way too seriously and get increasingly annoyed with Moana outdoing her, while Mo kind of gives in and indulges Mer but is also secretly amused and kind of flattered that Mer is like...that into their rivalry. Moana’s just like *Regina George voice* “Why are you so OBSESSED with me???”
Like maybe in a modern-day college AU, Merida has been the star of her college’s archery team basically since freshman year. She wins the championships!!! She gets the trophies!!! She’s very well-known within the tiny niche community that is college archery!!! Then, come junior year, this girl in Merida’s year who Merida’s never even SEEN before shows up out of nowhere and makes the cut for the team. She’s honestly way better than she has any right to be (like judging by how she is with that harpoon gun, Moana’s aim is pretty damn good) and is constantly stealing the spotlight, and Merida is a very angry lass. Like it seems like no matter what she does, Moana can always one-up her, and Merida wants to tear her hair out in frustration. Doesn’t help that every time Moana does ridiculously good on a drill and gets 7 bullseyes in a row or some shit, she’s insufferably smug and cocky about it. Merida very-nearly throws a fit every time Mo outdoes her, and Moana honestly finds the whole thing pretty amusing. She’s sort of flattered that apparently only she can get such dramatic reactions out of Mer, and that just tempts her to push Mer’s buttons all the more.
Then, come the annual Big Archery Tournament Finals! As usual, Merida’s college’s team wins--although this time, it’s through a combination of Merida’s and Moana’s skills rather than just Merida kicking archery ass for like 2 hours straight. On the individual evaluations, Moana scores higher than Merida, but only by a little bit. Merida is, of course, extremely salty, but she’s also grudgingly grateful that Moana being there was able to give their team a definitive edge in the competition.
Afterwards, the team goes out for celebratory drinks. After probably 3 drinks too many, Moana finally works up the courage to try and actually like...have a straight conversation with Merida for once, instead of just communicating with passive-aggressive show-offery. She wanders over, sits next to Mer at the bar, and half-slurredly asks if she can declare a truce just for one night, in honor of their kind-of-teamwork winning the tournament. Merida is also a few drinks in, so she’s just like “sure, fuck it, maybe yer not so bad after all. Now prove to me you’re not a pain in the arse!”
They chat for a while, and it turns out Moana is actually pretty easygoing and fun to talk to when she’s not mega-flexing with her archery skills. After a few more drinks, Moana is like “...can I tell you something?” and Merida’s like “why not?”
And then Moana just goes bright red and looks away and admits that the whole reason she got into archery and boosted up her skills enough to join the team in the first place was because she saw Merida making like 50 bullseyes at the previous year’s tournament, and developed a huge crush on her--to the point where she did all this extra-ass shit just so she could join the archery team and get to know Merida better. Also, every instance of Moana acting smug and cocky after acing a drill or perfectly hitting a target? It was honestly because she was trying to impress and show off to Merida, and also because she’s awkward as hell and has no idea how to actually flirt without being joke-mean and joke-cocky. Merida, a much more emotional drunk than she will ever admit, starts crying and gets super apologetic, because oh god, she was being so mean and rude to this girl who only ever thought she was cool and wanted to impress her from the jump??? How COULD she??? Moana lowkey loses her shit laughing because how mad Merida got at being upstaged was honestly kind of hilarious, and she was actually really flattered that Merida was, again, that obsessed with their rivalry. It made Moana feel weirdly special that only she could get to Merida that much, and she honestly liked the attention, even if it...wasn’t the most positive XD And Merida starts laughing, too, because she’ll admit that in hindsight, this whole thing feels a little ridiculous, and extracurricular college archery really isn’t that big of a deal.
Finally, Merida just rolls her eyes and says “C’mere, yeh bloody show-off yeh” and grabs Moana by the front of her archery uniform and smooches her!!! The entire archery team hoots and hollers because OH SHIT, DAT GAY!!! Merida holds out her other hand and flips the entire team off, which honestly just makes them cheer more.
Enemies to lovers AU: Which one switches sides?
Depends a lot on the conflict, I think! Maybe a war breaks out in an AU where someone other than Moana is chosen to return the Heart of Te Fiti--I’m gonna say Tui, for irony’s sake! Moana and Sina take over as co-chiefs while he’s gone, but he takes significantly longer than Moana did in the quest, so Moana’s tribe is eventually forced to flee Motunui to find new fishing grounds before their island is overtaken by darkness. The people of Motunui sail across the world, trying to find a new place to call home. Unfortunately, every time they find a habitable place, it’s already occupied, and the people who live there are uninterested in sharing their already-scarce food.
Eventually they stumble upon Dunbroch, far enough away from Motunui that the seas aren’t affected by the spreading darkness, and fish are plentiful. Naturally, Moana’s tribe sets up a camp on the shores and starts catching as many fish as they can, hoping they’ve finally found a place where they can have enough to eat again. Unfortunately Fergus and Elinor aren’t too crazy about this, and are like “yo, these oceans and these fish and other game belong to the people of Dunbroch and you gotta leave” and Sina and Moana are like “Pls we don’t have any place to go and we’ve been barely eating for a long-ass time, can’t you spare some food?” and Fergus and Elinor are like “sorry bro, it’s almost winter and we have our own entire kingdom to look after, we don’t need more mouths to feed. You gotta be on your way or shit’s gonna get real.”
So Moana thinks this sounds sketch as fuck because like...there’s an entire forest full of deer, rabbits, and other game, and they have NO food they can spare??? That night, Sina sends Moana to spy on the kingdom, since she can be pretty sneaky when she wants. Moana manages to climb the castle battlements and watch through a window, and she sees a bunch of people enjoying a massive feast in a huge dining hall. Her eyes are particularly drawn to a girl about her age with a head full of bright, fiery curls, wearing a nice dark green dress and gorging herself on pastries adorned with white icing and raspberries.
Moana heads back and tells Sina “actually it looks like these assholes have PLENTY of food to spare, and they just want to keep it all for themselves” and Sina is like “well shit...why don’t we raid their food store, then??? They’ve gotta have one somewhere!” And so the Motunui village storms Castle Dunbroch at dawn, catching them almost completely by surprise.
The first thing Moana does is seek out the redheaded pastry girl, whom she’s developed a particular disdain for. When she rushes her, she’s surprised that the ginger girl whips around and immediately sends an arrow sailing into her shoulder. When Moana gets close, the redheaded girl pulls out a sword. Moana takes out a long, sharpened wooden spear made from a particularly tough oar.
She turns out to be much more competent than Moana expected, especially for someone who was shamelessly shoving sweets into her mouth not 7 hours earlier.
They go toe to toe Raya-and-Namaari style, and the redheaded girl admittedly gives Moana a run for her money. The longer the battle goes on, the more Moana’s rage grows. She taunts the redheaded girl the entire time, calling her a spoiled, selfish brat who’d rather gorge herself with all the sugar in the world than share even one grain of it. Merida, who hasn’t exactly heard good things about these people from her parents, is just like “well, you’re no better, showing up and thinking you can just steal what belongs to Dunbroch and we won’t put up a fight!”
And thus the war begins. Motunui is never quite strong enough to get through the guards and raid the food stores, and Dunbroch is never quite strong enough to fully drive Motunui out of the kingdom. Fergus and Moana are both far too stubborn to surrender (despite the fact that Sina is kind of ready to), and so the battles continue. Casualties start to pile up. Dunbroch seeks help from the other clans, but they refuse--they did not take their leaders’ sons being scorned by the Dunbroch princess lightly.
Over and over, Moana can’t help but be drawn to the redheaded girl. She realizes after a few battles that this girl isn’t just anymore, but the Dunbroch princess--her resemblance to the king and his protectiveness over her can’t be a coincidence. It only makes Moana hate her more--but time and time again, she isn’t able to get the better of the princess. Moana can fight hard, and she can be vicious--but so, she’s discovering, can the Dunbroch girl. The princess is clever and cunning, and underestimating her has almost gotten Moana a blade in the throat one too many times.
Merida would be the one to change sides eventually, I think (wooo! Finally got to the actual question!). Once she finds out her parents didn’t tell her the whole truth about their first meeting with the Motunui village and sorta fudged what happened, Merida is livid that they turned away people who needed help. She said if she had known there were people who were tired and hungry and just needed a place to rest, she would have gladly given up some of her own meals for them! To prove this, she gathers up her dinner--plus some apples and some pastries she was going to have for dessert--and puts it in a basket, taking it to the Motunui camp as a peace offering. Moana ambushes her and very nearly slices the basket in half, if only because Moana was convinced it was filled with venemous snakes. After some bickering, Moana finally snatches the food away and, after testing it to make sure it wasn’t poisoned, brings it to Sina.
Unfortunately, one basket of food isn’t enough to feed the village, and the fighting continues. Merida tries to convince her parents to share their food stores with Motunui, but they still refuse, saying they need those stores for their own people and the Motunui people killed any chance of goodwill they might get when they attacked. Determined not to see people starve, Merida starts stealing from the reserve herself and sneaking the food out to the Motunui camp. Moana is feeling a lot more kindly towards Merida at this point, and feels a little bad about being so quick to judge her initially.
Eventually, Fergus and Elinor notice the food in the stores going missing, and figure some of the Motunui villagers must be running stealth operations to sneak in and get it. Dunbroch launches a full-scale attack on Montunui--while Merida is at their camp sneaking them food, in fact. Fergus makes a beeline for Moana. Word has gotten out by now of the times she managed to spy on the castle, so her sneakiness is well-known--and Fergus is all but certain she’s the thief. He charges at her with his sword, aimed to kill, when his own daughter steps in the way.
He barely manages to stop himself, but he does just in time. Merida admits she was stealing the food the whole time, and she can’t let Fergus hurt Moana. Fergus demands to know why, and Merida tearfully admits “Because I love her!”
Fergus, in a rage, takes out his sword again and charges Merida. Swords clash between father and daughter, and Merida looks like she’s just about to be overpowered. Moana can see the fear and betrayal in her eyes, appalled that her father would actually contemplate hurting her.
Not wanting to see whether he actually would, Moana steps in and helps Merida to fend Fergus off. “Enough!” she screams. “How can you live with yourself? My father risked his life to try to save his daughter and his people--and you’re willing to fight yours because she doesn’t agree with all this senseless violence?! You make me sick! I’m standing with Merida, because...because I love her too. I’ll leave if you want, but I want this to end.”
This finally snaps Fergus out of it, and he and Elinor decide that maybe the fighting has gone on long enough--and maybe it’s not worth it anymore, if it’s pitting them against their own daughter now. They end up trying to work out something with Motunui. Establishing a peace treaty and figuring out how to proceed forward is a long and messy process, but everyone is willing to put in the work--for the sake of Merida and Moana, if for nothing else.
Soulmate AU: Who is eager to meet their soulmate? Who absolutely does not want to meet their soulmate?
Neither of them want to meet their soulmate XD Merida has just been repulsed by the idea of marriage and commitment since she was young, mainly because she can’t not see it as just a means of taking her freedom away and making her be subservient to someone. Besides, given the, um...heteronormative culture of Dunbroch and all, she assumes she’ll get not just stuck with, but cosmically bound to a man and that idea just...doesn’t do anything but fill her with unadulterated disgust XD Like please no, she’s perfectly happy to go where she pleases when she pleases with no one but Angus for company. The last thing she needs is some stuck-up, snot-nosed boy telling her what she can and can’t do.
Moana has similar concerns, although maybe a bit less extreme. She’s mainly worried that when she meets her soulmate and, as per expectation, marries them, she’ll be expected to “mature” into a full adult and fully embrace her responsibilities as chief, leaving behind her childhood dreams of exploring the ocean. Same as Merida, she’s worried the person she’s destined for will tie her down and prevent her from exploring and going on the adventures she craves so badly. She’s also, like Merida, worried she’ll get stuck with some lame, boring dude who she’ll be destined for because...he loves her!!! And will be really nice to her!!! But will not stimulate or interest her in any way whatsoever!!! And Moana is pretty uninterested in romance and dating regardless, so the idea of any kind of romantic partner who she’d hypothetically have to run crazy ideas by before just doing them doesn’t sound too appealing to her. Like, she’s happy where she is and having her friends and family for company, what does she need an SO for??? It just feels like the whole “soulmate” business is just the universe attempting to give her a babysitter, and Moana ain’t about that. She can do things on her own, dammit!!! And what makes the great elder love gods think she wants another person to keep track of on her escapades, anyways?!? It’s enough effort keeping herself safe without worrying about someone else!
Imagine their shocked delight when each finds out their soulmate is a) a girl and b) a girl arguably just as chaotic, adventurous, and rebellious as they are!!! They meet and they’re like “huh...maybe the universe wasn’t being some big dumb fucking idiot binding us together after all. I can work with this!!!”
Pirate AU: Who is the pirate? Who is the member of the royal family who did not sign up for this?
Merida is the pirate! Or at least...the one who becomes a pirate first! XD Maybe to escape her betrothal she steals a ship and flees Dunbroch, and BOOM trouble on the High Seas time!!! Eventually she sails to the south Pacific on her naval escapades, and stumbles on Motunui. When she finds out Moana is a chief’s daughter, she naturally kidnaps her and holds her for ransom--because screw it, she hasn’t successfully pillaged any merchant ships recently and she needs some cash. But instead of being like “Noooo take me home!” Moana is like “Actually this fucks, I’ve always wanted to sail the ocean anyways and my dad wouldn’t let me before, so you’ve accidentally given me an avenue to achieve my dreams!!! Thank you!!!” And Merida realizes that a first mate would actually be a lot more useful in the long run than a handful of hostage money, so she just kind of shrugs like “aight, yer on the crew.”
Merida is a bit salty because Moana takes to the pirate lifestyle excellently--so much so that before long, she’s arguably a better pirate than Merida XD While Merida is a bit cranky about being outdone in the art of piracy, she also can’t help but admire Moana’s natural aptitude for sailing and propensity for mischief on the High Seas!!!
Their ship is called “The Arrow,” and Merida definitely uses her bow during pirate-to-pirate combat! She teaches Moana how to shoot a bow, but discovers Mo is pretty nifty with a harpoon gun as well!
Childhood best friends AU: Which one was super obviously in love with the other the whole time? Who was oblivious until they were older?
Oooooh, this is a fun one!!! Admittedly I don’t usually think about these girls in a Childhood Friends to Lovers AU (very possibly due to...geographical constraints lol) so this’ll be a cool thought experiment!
SO in order to fix my unfortunate geographical constraints, I’m gonna say that this is an AU where the people of Motunui were wayfinders from the jump, and while voyaging (admittedly a LONG way), they stumbled upon Dunbroch. Moana’s parents and Merida’s parents immediately hit it off, and established a political alliance of sorts.
Moana, meanwhile, pulled the classic “little girl on vacation/at an event immediately seeks out other little girl and becomes best friends with her.” Moana and Merida naturally also hit it off immediately, and are both pretty bummed out when Tui and Sina want to leave and continue voyaging and such. However, they make plans to visit as frequently as they can and Merida and Moana are super hyped about this! They both always get extremely excited for said visits, and Little Moana nearly falls off the front of her family’s boat several times because she’s leaning over so far and squinting so hard to try and see Dunbroch.
I love the idea that Moana was the one who was totally smitten from the jump, to the point where it took her years to realize she was aspec because she was like “Of course I can fall in love!!! I’m in love with Merida!!!” She just didn’t realize most people have romantic inclinations toward more than one person over the course of their lives XD
It absolutely does not help that Merida is extremely romance-repulsed when they’re kids--mainly because she associates romance in general with being docile and acting stupid to impress some annoying macho guy, and that thought kinda makes her want to puke. That, and given how, er...heteronormative things are in Dunbroch, it doesn’t reall occur to her that romancing girls is like...an option. So poor Moana has always kind of resigned herself to thinking she has no chance with Merida, and keeps her feelings under pretty tight lock since she doesn’t want to ruin their close friendship and all and she doubts Merida even swings that way.
THEN when they’re in their early teens, Merida is like “hmmm...I wonder what it would be like to kiss Moana?” but then IMMEDIATELY feels weird for thinking that and tells absolutely no one. She’s definitely starting to feel something a little different than just platonic friendship though, and of course she’s also convinced Moana only sees her as a friend and probably doesn’t like girls.
Then one day they’re wrestling around out in the woods, like they have since they were little, and at one point Merida leans down and just impulsively kisses Moana. She’s super flustered and apologetic afterwards, but Moana just stares in shock before being like “holy shit, I never thought you’d actually want me too. Holy shit!!!!” After that, they start secret-dating and everyone around just thinks they’re still “very good friends” XD
When Merida turns 16 and gets the news of her betrothal, she’s devastated. It takes her several days to process her emotions, and several times she tries to protest to her mother, but Elinor steamrolls her and talks over her at every turn. Finally, when Merida can get a word in edgewise, she tearfully bursts out that she can’t go through with this because she loves Moana. Elinor, traditionally-minded woman that she is, is horrified by this.
When Fergus finds out, he GOES OFF at Elinor and sticks up for Merida. He basically says that she’s their daughter and they should want her to be happy, and they should be happy for her that she did find someone she loves, even if it’s a bit...unconventional.
Later, at the betrothal ceremony, Merida picks an archery contest for the suitors with the hopes of cheating the system and winning her own hand. Imagine her surprise when Moana rushes in late with a makeshift bow on her hip, shouting “I am Moana of Motunui, and I’ll be shooting for the princess’s hand as well!”
Luckily, due to Moana’s years and years of informal archery training from Merida herself, the other suitors really don’t stand a chance.
It turns out that Elinor and Fergus set this whole thing up, deciding in the end that their daughter should at least be able to marry who she loves if she had to get looped into a political marriage. And honestly, they weren’t going to say no to a stronger alliance with Motunui at the end of the day. Merida is so pleasantly shocked by the whole thing that she forgets to be mad about the fact that she’s still being pressured into a marriage pretty young XD Luckily, Moana has no intention of trying to hold Merida back or take her freedom away! Their relationship really barely changes after they officially become wives, and they’re still just as in love as they’ve basically always been.
As for the issue of heirs, Elinor and Fergus just make Merida’s brothers the heirs of Dunbroch, and Tui and Sina are fine with Moana and Merida choosing an heir for Motunui who isn’t necessarily their biological child. Neither Moana nor Merida are crazy about the “leaders have to be from the chief/monarch’s bloodline” rule anyways, so they’re more than fine with this!
This is in reference to this post! Still answering these questions for Moanida and Hiccanna, if I haven’t done so already!

Can u introduce yuzuru to us the caro way?👀
so you want to know about the one and only. ♡😌
yuzuru hanyū (25) of sendai, japan: the most beautiful ice prince with a heart of gold.
….an artist clearly not of this world, he’s been sent to us from another realm. 19 world records, two olympics won, dubbed the greatest figure skater of all time. and the most precious bean on top of that.
but let’s start from the beginning, shall we ♥︎
so, want to spot yuzu on the ice? use this checklist. slender silhouette, an even slimmer waist, feather-like outfits (he sketches those himself; the fandom lovingly calls him swanyu), soft blushy face. he has great androgyny.
outside of performances, you see him either with a deer’s gaze or the brightest, biggest eye smile. also, he’s usually found sitting with his wife:
which is the ice 😄 these two are together forever. you can discern yuzu from a mile away by how he treats his working ground.
there is a purity to him. you’d not guess that this is one of the most ardent athletes if you didn’t see what’s around his neck after competitions. the guy’s cuteness is as compelling as his skating technique.
look for it: yuzu’s face is super suave and rosy up close, even after his most energetic performances. some men are handsome, others pretty, he is both.
even acoustically, he’s hard to miss. applause is all around, and he’s highly expressive. if you see a crying young man getting the high score, that’s yuzuru hanyu. you’ve not seen more beautiful happy tears.
and score reactions, anyway:
so, aye loves, the rumors are true. a cutie-pie off the ice, animated, a real unabashed meme — yuzu is easy-going, talkative. cheery, cheeky, one of a kind. his facial expressions are a league of their own.
if you thought this is the sort of guy who watches cat videos, you are correct 😄
yuz-uwu hanyu, everybody:
his undoubtedly feline behaviour is often unexpected, it stands out with its adorableness, too. a sweetheart par excellence.
and, how else could it be: vice versa, the big beast on the rink. he’s cutesy, dorky, very well-spoken in daily life, but when it comes to skating, his seriousness escalates. you blink once and suddenly hanyu is a bedazzling, strutting lion :’D his performances stun with confident elegance.
he becomes full of ardor, drama, and focus. you’d never suspect so much fire burns in him. a showman and ambition icon, hands down.
his skating is dynamic, perfected, and emotional. if you want to see art and the extra mile, tune in when hanyu competes.
the downside is; more light, more shadow. it leaves him crawling on the ice afterwards. yuzu performs so hard, it’s worrying.
he delivers it all. you won’t believe it:
this guy is an asthmatic.
the symptoms aren’t as bad as they used to be, but there are still regular attacks. he said that he’ll never take it as an excuse and often recalls how he started skating because of it. he’s a badass, extremely inspiring. yuzuru defies all limits, including gravity. his jumps have legendary status.
off the rink, you guessed it: he turns into a wholly different person.
it all dissolves completely when he’s dorking around again.
don’t let it deceive you, he’s the no other option than first place type. he could not be any more decorated with titles, he achieved the grand slam in all competitions as of 2020. and still, king of sportsmanship hanyu is respectful and smiley towards all colleagues and never lets anyone feel left out. especially when it comes to his juniors (e.g. yuma kagiyama, 16, below) which says a lot about him.
he bows in every direction before an audience, too. lower than a 90° angle, even. this is more polite than any existing formality in japan.
talk about audience: i introduced fellow japanese skater shoma uno last week, who’s more uncomfortable with social contact and aggression. yuzu, extrovert he is: the exact opposite. he withers away with no people and competition. he’s befriended rivals, had crises over not having someone who could challenge him. when a competitor retires, he’s the one crying in their arms (e.g. with team mate and bff javier fernandez from spain below).
beside his competitive spirit and princely wow factor, hanyu is popular for his winnie pooh tissue box that he caresses, squeezes, and carries everywhere. he loves good luck charms & rituals, pooh is the most important one.
fans throw pooh plushies on the ice after his performances because of it. since it’s gotten so intense, yuzu recently started cleaning them up himself on top of the flower girls for the upcoming skater who could get delayed otherwise. (more about what happens with the piles of plushies later.)
so, the burning question is.
what made yuzuru hanyu emerge so outstanding an entertainer? how does someone causing so much uproar become like that? it’s not just what kind of appearance he was given, although he really looks his part to a T. you don’t have to be an insider to see it right away.
like literally to a fault. and you can tell the way his blades sound on the ice is different. it’s soft even if he does the most hardcore quadruple jumps. i think it’s because his drive to do this is a higher one, hanyu has an altered relationship with the ice. where his devotion comes from has a more severe reason so, massive trigger warning.
this is no exaggeration: yuzuru is considered a hero to the japanese. a survivor of the earthquake 2011, he narrowly escaped the collapsing rink in his hometown on that very day. he’s often talked about how the ice shattered underneath his feet and it was the moment that defined his life forever. he could have been dead by the age of 16. his motivation has been set ever since. this man is compelled by something bigger, that’s why you hear it and you feel it. he wants to skate not just for himself but others and seize every day.
youtube
much of his copious charity work — that’s where all the pooh plushies go — went to mend the consequences of the tsunami ever since, he’s looked upon as a great hope in japan. the minister gave him the people’s honor award in 2018.
now you know why yuzuru has such a fanbase and treats the ice as sacred, you see it in every gesture. his manners are without a single flaw, he helps staff repair the ice after performances.
you might think it’s odd, but he honors the ground. he’s invested in the integrity of it. that’s why he’s the best skater. it’s gratitude and the will to live fully.
he hates to fall on the ice, he hates to damage it. alongside his feathery weight, that’s why the sound he makes while gliding along is so tender.
i think that’s also why hanyu’s signature element is the ina bauer. it doesn’t rely on brutal force, instead this element slides across the rink like a swan. yeah, oh my god.
it’s his most well-known dramatic move. the way he surrenders into it.
hanyu’s back arch and perfect split allow him to do elements no other male skaters can. his biellmann spin, for instance. i know, it’s ridiculous.
and those are just two elements of dozens and dozens. hanyu is a kinetic wizard. i highly rec this record-breaking delivery of his olympic program. in front of his home crowd! he’s just… mind-boggling. i live for his smiles here.
youtube
exceptional skater, exceptional mentor: it’s time we look at another puzzle piece that made yuzu the way he is. the masterful brian orser is hanyu’s beloved coach. missing gold by just one mistake at the olympics 1988, brian is now committed to give others what he couldn’t have— successfully so.
orser took the ice prince to gold twice, this hasn’t happened in 66 years. brian is the nicest and most supportive pooh carrier and yuzu’s utmost rock. hanyu’s talent rests safely in these hands.
he gets strict about punctuality lmao! but other than that, his guidance is gentle. canadian he is, brian’s courteousness mixes well with yuzu’s politeness. their bond is strong. as. hell.
brian picked up yuzu from rock bottom several times. most fateful being hanyu’s accident with a fellow skater during competition warm-ups nov 2014. they collided at a high speed, it was unspeakably nasty. yuzu got knocked out for half a minute and had grave breathing problems but still decided to skate on with what later turned out as an almost-concussion. brian was the most worried ice dad in the world that day.
yuzu cried and crouched and bled like mad and my heart has been broken ever since. i hope he never suffers like that again. promise me you don’t search up the video, it’s a harrowing watch like a stab to the chest. sadly enough, hanyu’s body has still been a notorious wreck, esp. ankle issues regularly give him a hard time 😔
it hurts like a bitch with every jump landing but he takes meds and still manages to win, god knows how. sometimes even with crutches on the podium. at his worst, he’s still the best, it’s a tragedy.
he’s been recovering, or always is, but he pushes himself through injuries. his ambition and perfectionism are boundless. the cause is more important to him than his well-being. this is not an easy guy to stan once you see how he sacrifices and self-destructs. so, it’s good someone protects him.
mostly from himself because nobody has profoundly surpassed hanyu. he has let himself no choice than to contest himself. not even health, only age can stop yuzu. i think that brian understands this ‘curse of a genius’ effect. his mere presence can make hanyu say these rare words:
his two other coaches contribute to that. tracy wilson (left) has proven to understand his playful side the best while ghislain briand (right) helps yuzuru deal with his fears. so you got 3 people taking care of the golden boy. brian once said: “he is very sheltered” and you can see it’s true.
yuzu eased into learning english and communicates well with his coaches. like with everything, he studies hard and often forces himself to speak during interviews to practice. his skills are astounding. his speaking voice is also very soothing, very amicably low and high alike. yuzu is highly intelligent. he always says something eloquent and interesting.
now, privately, hanyu is very much like you’d expect someone so devoted to skating would be like. he doesn’t go out, has no social media, can’t eat nor sleep very well. no cameras allowed during practice. it figures he is attached to winnie pooh, think about it. in the cartoon, pooh is someone who sleeps, eats, and engages with friends plenty.
these are the things hanyu can’t do, doesn’t have time/energy/incentive for. he is barred from balance in life but can at least admire this little carefree plushie for it. especially because pooh represents eating lots while yuzuru doesn’t have a good relationship with food (he says it doesn’t go well with jumps etc.), hanyu lives vicariously through him.
what’s more, you have to see how he throws himself onto others and never wants to let go, yuzuru is extremely cuddly.
to the degree that mere social customs can’t meet how much he really needs. so, what else can he resort to, he loves mascots and plushies. it’s how the tale goes in japan generally, tough work ethic, high responsibility, high pressure, so people turn to cute fluffy things.
he always fondles pooh’s head, even pretends he’s come to life so he has someone to snuggle with. i think that his isolated lifestyle doesn’t help. so, he gets his affection at least there, you can see how happy it makes him. and again: he does this all for charity.
that’s why fellow skaters are so important to hanyu. it really brings out his social spirit and comforts him best, it’s so wholesome. i’ve not seen someone react so relieved to being embraced, like he’s not been touched for months. skating this, skating that. at the end of the day, hanyu wants love.
as he once said, what motivates him is to express himself in the first place. hanyu is a romantic. it’s written all over him. it reflects in his music choices, his elegant motion, how he designs his outfits:
… and how thoughtfully he talks about marriage. he has big plans for starting a family and coaching after he retires. i won’t be the only one squeezing lucky charm pooh in my imagination so it turns out well for him. please make this heart of gold heal and see all his wishes come true ♡🐻

Day Date
Jax has been in the Devildom for three months now. They’re getting closer to their crush and thriving at R.A.D., but there’s something strange happening at House of Lamentation. Jax enlists the help of their crush to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Written from the perspective of my non-binary OC Jax.
NSFW: mild make out/groping
My usual PSA - Always check in with your partner to make sure you’re on the same page sexually and emotionally. Respect each other’s boundaries and nos. Listening and communicating openly is one of the sexiest things you can do. PSA over. :)
Finally a day off from R.A.D. Maybe Arianthi can take me someplace new so I can sketch today.
I pause and reconsider.
Maybe not. She’s been a little off lately. Sad.
I haven’t said anything to her yet, but I’m getting worried.
I wander through the House of Lamentation, looking for the girl who has become my de facto big sister. I stop by the library first, but Satan is the only one there.
“Oh, hi Jax.” Satan looks up from his book and smiles at me.
“Hey. Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.” I smile back at him, happy to find him in an unusually good mood. “I was just wondering if you’d seen Arianthi anywhere? I can’t find her.”
Satan’s smile vanishes and his shakes his head.
“Maybe she’s with Mammon?” I try hopefully.
Satan scowls. “He didn’t come home last night. He’s on another gambling streak.”
It’s been like this for the past four weeks. What is going on with those two?
Arianthi and Mammon have gone from being inseparable to barely speaking to each together. He’s been spending more time away from home, drinking and gambling, while Arianthi has thrown herself into her work at R.A.D., spending more time with Diavolo and Lucifer.
“Again?” I start chewing on the inside of my cheek, upset. “I know it’s not really my business but I’m starting to get -”
“Worried?”
I nod.
“I am too,” Satan admits. “Even Levi has noticed something isn’t right.”
Shit.
When the ever oblivious otaku who barely leaves his room notices something is off, the situation is really fucking bad.
“She hasn’t been sleeping in their room either.” Satan drops another knowledge bomb on me.
“What?” I feel my eyebrows raise.
“Beel said he’s been finding her sleeping on the couch in the living room. And last week Lucifer found her sleeping in that room she and Mammon were renovating.” Satan frowns.
I feel my face scrunching up in confusion. “But there’s no furniture in there right now.”
A month ago Mammon and Arianthi had moved her private office into another vacant room in the house and started renovating the empty room. I had helped her paint it and refinish the woodwork.
He just raises his eyebrows and shrugs. “She was sleeping on the floor.”
“Well fuck,” I mumble.
Satan nods. “Exactly.”
“She hasn’t said anything to me about what’s going on. Has Mammon said anything to you?”
“Not a word.” He shakes his head.
“I’m going to try to find her, maybe drag her out of the house today. If she’s not working. On her day off. Again.” I let out a deep sigh.
He smiles at me wanly. “I hope it works. I think she’ll listen to you more than us at this point.”
“Message me if you see her?”
“Absolutely.”
I continue searching, poking my head in Levi’s room, checking the kitchen, even going so far as to pester Lucifer while he’s in his bedroom.
“Have you checked their bedroom?” He suggests.
“I-” Damned if I’ll admit I’m a little afraid to.
“Would you like me to accompany you?” Lucifer offers begrudgingly.
“Yes please!”
A few minutes later Lucifer pushes open the door to Arianthi and Mammon’s bedroom. We stand in the doorway silently, craning our necks to examine the space.
“It appears neither one is here,” Lucifer finally states the obvious.
“Satan said Mammon didn’t come home last night.”
Lucifer makes a tch sound of disapproval low in his throat.
“Arianthi didn’t go into work today did she?” I try not to get my hopes up.
Lucifer shakes his head. “I already messaged Diavolo. He hasn’t seen her.”
We both eye the door to the next bedroom then look at each other, playing a telepathic game of rock, paper, scissors. By benefit of being frightening as hell, Lucifer wins.
Damn.
I take the few steps to the next room over and rap on the door softly. When there’s no response I quietly ease the door open. Arianthi is sitting on the floor, her back pressed against the far wall, looking off into space.
She gives me a soft smile when she finally notices me. “Hey you. I haven’t seen much of you lately.”
“You’ve been working a lot with Diavolo and Lucifer on the exchange program,” I respond.
A pink blush dusts her cheeks and she looks at me guiltily for a moment.
“How are your classes going?” She finally asks.
“Good.” I amble over to her and sit down.
We stay silent for awhile, both of us lost in our own thoughts. I look around the room that just a month ago we had lovingly re-painted. The walls were now a soft mint green, the woodwork at bright, pure white.
Finally Arianthi turns to me with a mischievous smile, looking like her old self. “Sooooo............ how are things with Beel?”
I can feel the heat in my cheeks from my blush. “Fine. Good. Ok. Things are ok.”
She arches one eyebrow at me. “Just ok?”
“W-w-well, I mean, we’ve been hanging out a lot. We’re good friends.”
“Just friends?” She grins at me knowingly.
“For now,” I mumbled. “Maybe. Hopefully.” I heave a sigh. “I like him. A lot. But he’s also become one of my really good friends since I’ve been here and I don’t want to take a chance on messing that up, you know?”
“I get it,” she says, nodding. “What happens if you do take a chance and he wants the same thing you do?”
I stare at her like a deer in the headlights.
“Oh come on!” Arianthi knocks her should into mine. “You can’t tell me you haven’t thought about what it would be like to date Beel.”
I open and close my mouth a few times.
Of course I have. I also have realistic expectations.
She rolls her eyes and looks at me in disbelief. “You are one of the most confident people I’ve ever met. Why does that completely disappear when you’re around him?”
“I don’t know,” I mutter, closely examining the carpet.
“Maybe because he’s different? Maybe because you think there’s a possibility of there being something real there? Like a real deal, shoot for the stars kind of love?”
“I hate it when you’re right,” I say sullenly. “I won’t say love, I can’t say that yet. I know he’s special though.”
She knocks her shoulder into mine again, raising her eyebrows at me.
I swat at her, laughing. “Cut it out.”
“I’m just saying maybe it’s time to jump in the pool. Get your feet wet. Splash around a little bit.”
I roll my eyes and huff out a low laugh. “I’ll think about it.”
Arianthi raises her hands and smiles. “That’s all I ask.”
“Speaking of asking things......” I trail off and give her my best puppy dog eyes. “Could you maybe, possibly, venture out into nature with me today? Help me scout out some new places to sketch? Pretty please?”
Her smile instantly disappears, replaced by the stoic mask I’ve come to know all too well over the past few weeks.
“Um, I’m not feeling that great today hun. I think I’ve been working too much.” She gives me a sad smile. “Maybe another time?”
“Oh. Alright then.” I try hard to mask my disappointment. “Another time.”
I start to push myself off the floor, but she grabs my arm.
“Wait! I’ve got a great idea. Why don’t you ask Beel to take you? There’s a really pretty lake in the forest I think you’ll like. He’s knows the way and I bet he wouldn’t mind.”
“I-I wouldn’t want to bother him,” I stammer.
“You wouldn’t,” Arianthi says, smiling. “I’m sure he’d be happy to have a hiking buddy. And I know he likes spending time with you.”
“You think so?” I ask hopefully, blushing a little.
“I know so.” She pauses. “There’s even a picnic all packed up in the kitchen you guys can take with you.”
“Is this all an elaborate set up to bring me and your future brother-in-law together?” I eye her suspiciously, then grin. “Because if it is I accept.”
“Kind of,” she admits sheepishly. “Mammon and I were supposed to go out to the lake today, to get some time alone together. He, um, he didn’t come home last night though.”
Her smile wobbles a bit. “I don’t want to waste the food or anything, so I’d like you and Beel have it. You guys can have some time to yourselves, and you’ll be able to sketch something new.”
“Oh man,” I sigh and give her a small squeeze.
“Oh god, I’m getting a pity hug.” Arianthi gives a shaky laugh.
“I can stay here if you want,” I offer, worried about her.
“No!” She gives me a small push. “Go. Be free. Chase your tall, muscular, ginger dream.”
“I hate you,” I say, laughing, and stand up.
“I love you too.” She smirks at me.
I start to leave the room, then pause in the doorway. “You sure you don’t want me to stay? Or you can come with us?”
Arianthi makes a shooing motion at me. “I’m sure. Now go, get your man.”
I narrow my eyes her.
“Really!” She insists. “I’m fine. Go get Beel and enjoy yourself today. I’ll see if Asmo wants to have a spa day or something.”
“Ok.” I grin at her. “Thanks for this Arianthi.”
“I told you on day one that I had your back.” She returns my grin.
“I appreciate you!” I say as I leave the room.
“You better!” She calls out.
I walk down the hall towards the room Beel and Belphie share. I knock twice and wait until I hear a sleepily mumbled, “Come in.”
I slip inside and scan the room for Beel.
“He’s in the bathroom,” Belphie mutters out from under his pile of blankets.
“Oh. Sorry, I can go.” I turn to leave.
“Nah, hang on a second,” Belphie says. “Hey Beel! Your Jax is here!”
Your Jax? Sounds good. Very into it.
Beel comes out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a pair of low slung shorts, toweling his hair dry. He flashes me his signature adorable grin. “Hey Jax.”
“H-h-hey,” I stutter, flustered by his abs and wide expanse of muscular chest.
“What’s up?”
“Uh, um....” I blank.
Belphie bails me out. “Usually when someone comes looking for another someone that first someone has a question for the second someone.”
He gives me a sardonic smirk while Beel looks on in confusion.
“Y-yeah. Right.” I shake myself a little. “Um, Beel would you wanna go to the lake with me? For a picnic? I was wanting to sketch a little, and I thought it might be nice if we maybe went together......” I trail off.
“That sounds like fun,” Beel says happily. “Give me a minute to get dressed?”
I nod, smiling. “Wanna just meet me in the kitchen? I’ll get the food ready to go.”
“Sounds good.”
I quickly leave the room and head to the kitchen, feeling grateful when Levi is the only one who catches me skipping with joy down the hallway.
There are two large, insulated picnic baskets sitting on the kitchen island, just like Arianthi said there would be. I double check my backpack, making sure I have everything I may need. Suddenly a large hand comes down on my shoulder and I nearly jump out of my skin.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you,” Beel says, sounding apologetic.
His breath is warm against my ear and a shiver races down my spine.
“It’s ok,” I tell him, leaning into the warmth of his hand.
He hums happily and drops a kiss on the top of my head. “Ready to go?”
My brain short circuits at the feel of his lips. “Uh-huh.”
“Ok.” He grabs the picnic baskets in one hand and holds the other out to me.
I stare at his hand.
Really? Does he really want me to? Ohmygod ohmygod. Get a fucking grip Jax. You’ve held a guy’s hand before.
Beel blushes and drops his hand. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” he mumbles.
“I want to!” I reach out and grab his hand, smiling up at him. “I want to,” I repeat.
He looks down at me and grins shyly. “Let’s go.”
He tugs gently on my hand and we leave the House of Lamentation.
After 45 minutes of trudging through the woods Beel leads me to a gorgeous lake, surrounded by trees and wildflowers I’ve never seen before. He finds a large, clear patch of grass close to the lakeside and we kneel down, opening the picnic baskets.
We find a big, soft blanket and he spreads it out while I pull out plates, silverware, and cups.
“Wow, she went all out.” I murmur, pulling a bottle of champagne out of the basket.
“Mmm?” Beel turns towards me.
I show him bottle. “Arianthi went all out.”
“She did all this?” Beel looks at me in bewilderment.
Oops. Beans spilled.
I sigh. “Arianthi put all this together because Mammon said they would come here together today but-”
“He’s not home.” He finishes my sentence.
“She didn’t want it to go to waste so she thought we might like it,” I mumble, my shyness suddenly returning.
“I’m glad,” Beel says softly. “I’m not glad Mammon didn’t come home for their date,” he quickly amends. “But I’m glad I get to spend time alone with you.”
“Me too,” I say, grinning at him. “I’m just going to have water. Do you want any of this?”
I offer him the bottle of champagne.
He shakes his head, pulling out a container of sliced fruit. “Just water is good.”
He pulls out another container.
“Oh she made peanut butter cookies! I hope she made turkey sandwiches with the spicy mustard and that one special type of cheese she brings back from the human realm.....those are Mammon’s favorite. I bet she did......”
I chuckle as he eagerly roots through the baskets, excitedly commenting on each new container of food he pulls out. I discreetly pull out my sketchbook and pencil. His face, his smile, his pure unadulterated joy; I want to always be able to remember that.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been around someone who gets genuine happiness from such simple things. It’s nice.
I hum to myself, sneaking looks at Beel as he sprawls out on the blanket, sandwich in hand.
I sketch for a few minutes in silence. Suddenly, crumbs fall onto my sketchbook and I flick them away in irritation before snapping my head up to look directly into Beel’s eyes.
“Hi,” I breathe.
He studies my sketch. “Are you drawing me?”
He smiles in delight before he takes another bite of his sandwich.
“It’s not done yet.” I hastily flip the page and shove the sketchbook back into my backpack.
“Will you show me when it’s done?”
No. Of course not. Absolutely no. Never.
“For sure.”
Beel reaches into a picnic basket and hands me a sandwich. “Um, you should eat something before it’s all gone,” he says shyly.
He quickly puts some chips, fruit, and a cookie onto a plate and shoves it towards me. “I don’t want to eat all of it before you get a chance to have anything.”
Oh. My. God. My. Heart. It can’t take this. He’s too pure. Too cute.
We eat in silence for a while, enjoying the sunshine and the cool breeze blowing in from the lake, before I work up my courage.
“Hey Beel?”
“Mmm? What’s up?” He mumbles around a mouthful of chips.
“Can I ask you something?”
He nods, cramming the last part of his fifth sandwich into his mouth.
“Do you know what’s going on with Mammon and Arianthi? Did they get into a fight or something?” I hold my breath, hoping he doesn’t thinking I’m prying too far into his family’s business.
Beel slowly takes a sip of his water, thinking. “I don’t know what happened,” he finally admits. “But one night last week Mammon came home so drunk he could barely get in the front door. I was in the kitchen and I heard him. I carried him to their room so he wouldn’t wake everybody else up.”
Come on cutie pie. You’ve gotta give me more than that. We all know he’s been drinking way too much lately.
“Arianthi wasn’t in their room so I put him in bed. He started crying when he figured out she wasn’t there.” He pauses, looking uncertain. “Jax you have to promise you won’t tell anyone else this.”
“Of course. Not a word.”
“He told me Arianthi called off the wedding.”
“What?!”
Beel winces.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry. She hasn’t said anything to me about it. Are you sure that’s what he said?” I ask.
He nods sadly. “I don’t know what happened, but they’re both miserable. That’s why Mammon has been going out so much.”
I eat a chip, thinking. “Is it always like this when they fight?”
Beel looks scandalized that I’d even suggest something like that. “They don’t fight. Ever.”
I snort in disbelief. “Every couple fights Beel.”
“They don’t.” He pouts. “They have only had one fight, and that was before they started dating. And it led to them getting together.”
I fight the urge to kiss that cute little pout off his face.
“Ok, maybe it wasn’t a fight then. What else would make them upset with each other?” I’m stabbing in the dark now, anxious to nail down the problem.
Beel shrugs and takes a bite of an apple, chewing thoughtfully.
“Well,” he says after he swallows, “this all started about a month ago right? So what was happening then?”
I shake my head and eat another chip. “Nothing. Just classes. Arianthi’s work schedule was still normal. She didn’t start working so much until after........”
The light bulb clicks on and my stomach drops a little.
“After what?”
“Remember when Mammon and Lucifer went to the human realm for a week to run some errands for Diavolo?”
“Yeah,” Beel says. “Mammon whined until Lucifer gave in and let him tag along. So?”
“They quit talking and started acting weird right after Mammon and Lucifer got back,” I say slowly, hoping he realizes what I’m hinting at so I don’t have to come out and say it.
That would be a surefire way to torpedo this perfectly nice afternoon.
Beel looks at me blankly, waiting for me to connect the dots.
Shit.
“Do you think that there could be a chance that maybe Mammon did something on that trip that was a deal breaker for Arianthi? Something bad enough for her to want to call off the wedding?”
He scowls at me. “What? Like cheating?”
Afternoon torpedoed.
“I don’t know Beel,” I sigh. “That’s the only thing I can think of that would be bad enough that she wouldn’t want to marry him anymore.”
Beel opens his mouth to protest but I interject.
“Come on Beel. You know I’m right. She puts up with the witches’ pacts, and the get rich quick schemes, and the gambling, and the debts, and even the stealing to a certain extent. She’s been ride or die for him the entire time I’ve been here. Why would that change all of the sudden?”
He deflates a little. “He loves her so much. I really don’t think he would do that.”
My next question causes my chest to tighten. “Do you think Arianthi would....?”
Beel’s eyes widen in shock.
“I’m just asking!” I hold up my hands to placate him. “I really don’t think she would either, but I know she has history with Diavolo. Do you think maybe Mammon just misinterpreted something? Heard a rumor and ran with it?”
He shoves a cookie into his mouth and looks at me as he chews, considering.
“She wouldn’t cheat on him. He wouldn’t cheat on her. I know it.” He gobbles down another cookie. “I really think if Mammon heard a rumor or saw something he didn’t like they would have talked it out. At the very least we would have known about the fight. Mammon’s not exactly quiet.”
He smirks at me.
“True,” I agree with him. “If they had a fight at the House of Lamentation we definitely would have heard it.” I sigh in defeat.
Beel reaches over wraps an arm around my shoulders, cuddling me against his chest. “What’s bothering you? Beside them not talking to each other?”
I open up to him, soothed by his warmth and the feeling of his body next to mine.
“I don’t know. They were just so happy. And now they’re not even talking. Arianthi is working herself into the ground and Mammon’s partying it up. I know something bad happened. I know it. But they’re just avoiding it and it’s not making anything better. They were too happy and too good together to just give everything up like that. When you have something that great you don’t just throw it away over something stupid. You hang on to it as tight as you can. There’s too much bad stuff in this world to just give up something that makes you genuinely happy.”
His arms tighten around me and he presses a kiss to my temple. “Ok.”
“Ok? That’s it?” I’m flabbergasted.
I feel him shrug. “You’re right. I’ll help you figure out what going on, and then we can try to get them to talk to each other.”
“Really?” I twist in his arms so I can look at him.
He smiles down at me.
“They’re my family and them being happy makes me happy.” He pauses. “Plus, it would make you happy too. And I really, really like it when you’re happy,” he whispers.
I tilt my head back a little and look up into his big violet eyes. Beel reaches out and cups my jaw with one large hand. He leans towards me slowly, lips slightly parted.
I let out an involuntary sigh when he tenderly presses his mouth against mine. Warm, full lips part mine and he gently strokes my tongue with his. He eventually pulls away with a slight giggle.
“That tickles,” he murmurs, running his thumb softly over my lip ring.
“That’s not the only piercing I have that will tickle,” I whisper, shocked at my own confidence.
Beel’s eyes widen in surprise, then roam over my body hungrily. He surges forward, kissing me again with increased urgency, hands running up and down my sides.
I moan softly when my tongue touches his and he grips my sides tighter. His fingers grab onto the belt loops of my jeans, and he tugs me onto his lap.
I panic a little and scramble back slightly so that I’m awkwardly straddling his knees.
Oh fuck. We haven’t had this conversation yet. What if he’s not in to it anymore once we do?
“Are you ok? Did I do something wrong?” Beel asks, looking concerned.
I shake my head. “No. It was......awesome actually.
He smirks and reaches for me. “Then come back here.”
I lean out of his reach.
“Um. Ok. Well, here’s the thing. We haven’t really talked about ........certain stuff.” I blush and gesture at myself.
Fuck.
I look down at the ground, mortified.
The timing of this fucking blows.
Beel puts one hand on my hip, and uses his other to tip my chin up so I’m looking at him.
“It’s ok,” he says quietly.
I look at him stupidly, not quite understanding.
“It’s ok if you want to stop,” he says, then pauses for a moment. “But everything else is ok too. I’m ok with all of it. With whatever.”
He gives me a pointed look.
“Yeah?” I whisper, feeling extremely shy.
He nods.
“I like you because you’re Jax, not because of your body.” He flushes scarlet. “I-I-I mean, I do like your body. And I think you’re really cute. B-but it’s not all I like. I like who you are more. That’s what matters to me most,” he says, stammering a little.
Bolstered by his confession I scoot up until I’m straddling his lap, looping my arms over his shoulders.
“Is this ok?” I ask, a little unsure.
“Very ok.” He wraps his arms around me and leans forward, giving me the gentlest of kisses.
“Mmmm.” I deepen the kiss. He tastes like peanut butter cookies and something uniquely Beel, and I can’t get enough.
I nip lightly at his lower lip, gratified by the way he gasps into my mouth and the way his hips jerk up to meet mine.
One large hand slips under my shirt, his blunt nails tracing the lines of the muscles of my chest and stomach. I whimper his name, my thighs tightening around his hips. He huffs out a low laugh and presses a kiss to my neck.
Beel kisses and licks a trail up to my ear, nibbling on my earlobe. “You taste amazing,” he whispers into my ear.
I shiver at the feel of his breath and the sound of his deep voice.
“I wanna make you do that again.” He mouths at the sensitive point below my ear and slips one hand between us.
“Holy fuck,” I whimper when he cups me through my jeans and palms my erection.
“That is such a pretty sound Jax,” he mutters, before claiming my mouth again.
I arch against his hand as he continues to tease me through the thick fabric of my jeans. I finally break the kiss, panting a little. Beel’s mouth moves to my neck, dropping kisses down to my collarbone.
I manage to get my brain back online long enough to squeak out a request. “Beel? Can we slow down a little bit? Please?”
His hand automatically stills and he moves his head up to look directly into my eyes. “Whatever you want,” he says, nodding.
I sigh and lean forward, resting my forehead against his. “Thanks.”
Beel starts to say something, then hesitates. “Did it.....did it not feel good? Did I do too much? I just want to do what you like Jax. And for you to be comfortable.”
“It felt amazing,” I murmur. “I just, I like you a lot and I don’t want to rush anything. You’re really special to me. I wanna take things slow and keep getting to know you. Is that ok?”
He smiles at me sweetly. “Yeah. Yeah, it’s ok. You’re special to me too.” He suddenly frowns. “Can I still kiss you sometimes though? Because I really, really like kissing you.”
I laugh and kiss his forehead. “Yeah. Kissing is good. Let’s just chill on the other stuff for now though, alright?”
He hums happily and kisses my cheek before falling backwards, pulling me with him. We tumble onto the blanket, laughing.
Beel pulls me close and tucks me securely against his side, resting his cheek on top of my head. “Is this ok?”
“This is perfect,” I say, snuggling closer to him.
We spend the rest of the afternoon talking and cuddling, occasionally trading soft kisses. We head back to the House of Lamentation as the sun starts to set. We part ways at the kitchen; Beel goes off to find a snack and I go back to my room.
I flop onto my bed and pull out my D.D.D., quickly composing a message to Arianthi.
The picnic was AMAZING! I owe you so big. How was the spa day? Come to my room if you want to talk later.
I toss my D.D.D. onto my pillow, then reach for one of my textbooks. I spend about twenty minutes muddling through the finer points of ward magic before I message Arianthi again.
Ward magic is haaaaarrrrddddd. Come help me please?
I would ask Satan, but he sort of scares me.
Another twenty minutes passes and Arianthi still doesn’t respond. Which is weird, because she’s the type of person who responds to texts immediately.
I stand up and toss my book onto my bed, deciding to just go see if she’s in her bedroom.
And if she’s not there I’ll check Asmo’s room.
I open my door and jump a little when I see Beel standing there, hand poised to knock.
“Hey. Miss me already?” I tease him and smile.
“Asmo just called me,” he says, looking unusually serious.
“Is he ok?” I ask, worried.
“He’s out on a date with Solomon and he said Mammon just walked into The Fall.”
I can feel my eyebrows draw together. “I thought Arianthi was with Asmo. She said something about a spa day when I talked to her before we left this afternoon. And she’s not answering her D.D.D.”
Beel shakes his head, getting more agitated by the second. “I don’t know. I just know what Asmo told me. He said Mammon’s really drunk and starting to cause problems. Asmo and Solomon can’t get him to calm down. I need to go get him before he causes more trouble and Lucifer finds out.”
“What can I do?” I ask without stopping to think.
He hesitates, biting his lower lip anxiously. “Would you come with me? I don’t want to do this by myself.”
I reach out and grab his hand, lacing his fingers with mine. “Let’s go.”
He smiles at me in relief and tugs on my hand, starting to walk to the front door.
Ok Mammon, time to figure out what’s going on with you.

A plan was set in place, it consisted of several parts but overall it would mean the end of this long bet. It would be difficult, I’m not going to lie to you it took some serious planning by Bucky and Y/N to figure out what exactly was going to be done. Their timing had to be perfect, what they said had to be precise and they couldn’t give away any hint of what they were doing. Easy enough for two highly trained agents.
Part One - Infiltration
Y/N wandered down the hallway of the compound, she was on the prowl but no one would be able to tell from her walk or the casual demeanor she expressed. At the end of the hall her prey turned the corner and began walking towards her. Part one was in motion.
“Steve!” she called out and jogged ahead before turning and walking side by side with her prey, “I’ve been meaning to talk to you.”
Steve slowed his pace and raised an eyebrow, he was none the wiser.
“Is everything okay?”
“I overheard you and Sam earlier,” she lowered her voice as she spoke, careful as to make sure no one else would be able to hear as Steve came to a stop, a deer caught in the headlights. “I know about the bet you have.”
“You’re not mad?” Steve felt as though he was walking on ice, Bucky had let loose at the news of the bet and he wasn’t sure how Y/N would react.
“I’m slightly annoyed yes,” she breathed out a laugh and looked from side to side before stepping closer to her prey, “but I can forgive you, for a price,” she smirked.
“And what would that price be?” he breathed out a small laugh and smiled at his unknown predator.
“I want in,” she stated, “I plan on talking to Bucky about all this and I have a feeling it’ll go smoothly,” she shrugged her shoulders before continuing, Steve quirked his eyebrows again, his curiosity was growing, she had him on the end of her line and was reeling him in. “If it does, I want 50%.”
“You’re sure you two will get together? How?” He crossed his arms, she felt the tug of the reel as he fought back.
“Let’s just say some things were said last night, which I know you know about by the way, that have lead me to believe that everything will work out,” the smile on her face was growing and Steve pondered her comment for a moment. Bucky hadn’t told him anything about confessing his feelings to her, but he’d left a lot of details out. Slowly Steve started to nod his head.
“Alright,” he stuck his hand out, “you’ve got a deal.”
That’s a hook line and sinker folks.
Part Two - Redemption
Bucky knocked twice on the door before he opened it and stepped in, not bothering waiting for the okay. It had been two and half hours since Y/N completed part one, it was his turn now. It was mid-afternoon at this point, everyone had settled after lunch into their own activities, Steve was sat in his room drawing the view from his desk when he heard Bucky walk in. The two offered each other small hello’s before Bucky took a seat next to him.
“I’ve been thinking about this whole bet thing,” Bucky spoke after some time, Steve hummed in response, not bothering to look up. “I think I deserve some of your winnings since you bet on my love life.” His voice was nonchalant, like it wasn’t a big deal, but the words had been written down and practiced a half a dozen times earlier in the day.
“No winnings yet, Sam decided drunk sex doesn’t count,” Steve looked up from his notebook and watched Bucky lean back further into the chair, “I can call it off if you want,” he offered. Bucky shook his head slightly.
“What if I got you the win, then you can share some with me?” again his tone was casual, a conversation between two friends, “anything to stop Sam from bragging,” he laughed.
“Do you have a plan or were you just going to wing it,” Steve laughed, “because up until this point you’ve been winging it and it hasn’t exactly worked.”
“Hey! I have my ways, my charm, good looks, it’ll win any girl over,” Bucky winked and flicked his hair over his shoulder dramatically getting a laugh from Steve. “I have a plan actually.”
“Oh? And what’s that? Get drunk and kiss her? Seems to be your only move at the moment.” Steve enjoyed this banter he had with Bucky, the mood was light and he was able to joke and poke fun without any worry of the consequences.
“Right mate do you want to win or not?” Bucky leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
“Sorry, continue.”
“I’m gonna go talk to her, ask her on a proper date,” the mood shifted slightly as Bucky bit his lip and watched for Steve’s reaction.
“It’s about time,” he laughed, “bet or not I want you to be happy Buck.”
“But you’ll still give me a cut right?” Bucky smirked as Steve continued to laugh.
“Hows 50%?” The men shook hands and both leaned back in their chairs. ‘Done deal’ they’d agreed. Steve went back to drawing and Bucky sat quickly, relaxed and watching the trees sway in the small breeze outside.
After a few minutes of peace Bucky spoke again.
“You know I was going to ask for 30 right?”
“You can have 30% if you want”
“No it’s okay,” Bucky rushed out, waving his hand in front of him, “we shook on 50%.”
Part Three A - Testing the Waters
Now, the pair knew that Steve and Sam were in on this bet. But a bet that had been going on this long meant that surely the others must know right? So they thought, why not have some fun, see what reactions they can get, if any.
In a compound where the team lived with each other and were constantly communicating it made this part of the plan possibly the easiest. Once again the two’s skills came in handy, they knew what to say yes but they also knew how to keep a close eye on their targets, how to get into the computer system and find out the information before anyone was the wiser. Tony doesn't get individual’s log activities until Monday morning. They had ample time.
So when Bucky text Y/N to give her the all clear she set in motion part three; testing the waters. While Bucky stayed with Steve, as they often did and as to not raise suspicion, Y/N had already situated herself in the lounge where Vision, Wanda and Clint were lounging. She’d been there for almost an hour, the conversation between the group dropped at moments but it was calm, relaxing. Y/N was waiting, she was waiting for the perfect timing, an in and when Wanda spoke, she had it.
“Hey, do you want to watch that bird cartoon you were telling me about tonight?” Wanda turned to Y/N who was occupied by her phone.
“Tuca and Bertie? I can’t I’m going out tonight” she replied looking up from her phone briefly but not long enough to hold eye contact.
“Where are you heading?” Asked Clint, always one to support his team’s interests outside of missions.
“Birthday celebration with a few friends from high school, nothing to exciting, just drinks” Y/N shrugged her shoulders and smiled at the group.
“Gonna bring home any one night stands?” Clint teased.
“Or should I keep my phone on loud just in case you need to be picked up from some guy’s apartment at some ungodly hour,” Wanda laughed out.
You should know that Y/N’s sudden plans had sparked an interest in both Clint and Wanda. The two immediately began their own plan, let’s call it Bleed Them Dry, because they were trying to get all the information they could.
“It’s not like that,” Y/N laughed with them a small blush started rising on her cheeks, “if you must know, one of my friends is bringing some guy she wants me to meet.”
“Who is this mystery man?” Wanda leaned forward in her seat, she thought, before the news of last night, that Y/N had given up on Bucky. But with the information she had been given from Steve and Sam, she was confused as to why Y/N would be agreeing on a blind set up.
“I have no idea, someone she works with,” Y/N sighed before turning to Wanda, “don’t worry I’ll sneak a photo and send you his name as soon as I meet him.”
“I’d also like to know,” Clint raised his hand with a smile which was returned by Y/N.
“Of course arrow boy,” she stood from her seat and made a move to exit the room, “if you'll excuse me, I have a blind set up to get ready for.”
Part Three B - Testing the Waters...Still
It was Bucky’s turn now. Y/N had let him know her part had gone smoothly, the seed had been planted is what she’d told him. It was nearing 6pm now, dinner was being prepared in the kitchen by whoever’s turn it was to cook. But Bucky was walking in the opposite direction as he moved towards Tony’s lab casually.
“Hey Stark, Banner” Bucky greeted the men with a nod which was quickly returned. He walked over to Tony’s station and stood on the opposite side of the table as Bruce went back to his work, but kept a watchful eye on the interaction.
“How can I help Tinman?” Tony sunk into the stool next to him and looked up at Bucky who shifted from foot to foot.
“I was wondering if I could borrow that camouflage bracelet thing you made?” He scratched the back of his neck as Tony raised his eyebrows to ask why, “got a date.”
Bruce and Tony shared a quick look as Tony turned to get the bracelet he had made for Bucky that would conceal his metal arm, making it appear to be flesh and handed it to Bucky.
“Who’s the lucky lady? Finally asked Y/N out?” Tony smiled, he was hoping Steve would win.
“No,” Bucky breathed out a laugh and shook his head, his eyes held down at the bracelet in his hands, “I wish but no, girl I met in a bar last week.”
“How does Y/N feel about that?” Bruce spoke up from his bench, the two turned their attention towards him.
“I don’t think she knows,” Bucky pulled out his phone and opened it, “Sam text me saying she’s got some blind date set up thing tonight anyway,” he sighed again, putting his phone away and looking at Bruce, “doesn’t seem like she’s interested, suppose I should move on I guess.”
Bruce and Tony both nodded their heads, they wished him good luck on his date and watched him walk out. Bucky was thankful for the text from Sam, they’d made sure Clint was there when he found out about Y/N’s plans for the night, they knew Sam would be the first person he went to and Sam would eventually tell Bucky.
The scientists turned to each other.
“They did sleep together didn’t they?” Tony asked.
“That’s what Steve said,” Bruce shrugged.
“Oh,” Tony let out, “so they’re both just dumbasses then.” He shook his head and pulled out his phone.
“Are you telling the others,” Bruce asked, Tony just answered with a look, of course I am, he answered.
Part Four - Answers
There’s a reason all of this happened at certain times. Not only did they need enough time for word to get around, but they needed Steve to be out of the compound and away from his phone. That’s why Bucky had insisted it had to be today, because with no training in the morning he knew that Steve would go for an hour’s run before dinner and Steve never took his phone, always leaving it on his nightstand, he ran around the compound, if something went wrong, he would hear it. That’s how Bucky and Y/N were able to sneak into Steve’s room after Bucky had come back from visiting Tony.
Y/N was waiting at the door when he arrived, she asked how it went, he showed her the bracelet in response. She asked him if he was really going to wear it, he said only if there’s a crowd. She said they’ll have to make sure to stay away from crowds then with a smirk. This girl was driving Bucky insane.
It was nearing 6:30pm now, they had about twenty minutes to get in and out before risking Steve finding them and so as soon as they got to work Bucky went straight to his computer and opened up his messages. It wasn’t hard to find what the were looking for, in capital letters the group chat was constantly being updated with new messages, it was called (you’ll never guess) PLACE YOUR BETS.
Bucky moved his hand so the mouse hovered over the chat, he wanted to know what they were talking about, he knew they were talking about him, about his love life, and he wanted the details. He wanted to know what they knew, if they knew something he didn’t. He needed to know.
“Wait,” Y/N placed her hand over Bucky’s wrist stopping him from clicking onto the chat, “you can’t click on it.”
“Why not?” He looked at her, eyes wide like a child being caught doing something he shouldn’t.
“If you click on it you’ll mark it as read, if they see that Steve has read it they’ll wonder why since he’s supposed to be running right now,” she spoke as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, to her it was, it hadn’t even crossed Bucky’s mind.
“Okay well, now we know that everyone is in on it,” her hand was still on his wrist as he looked at it, she noticed him staring and quickly pulled it away and straightened up.
“Ready for the final part?” Y/N asked with a smile as they walked out of Steve’s room, ready to go their separate ways until later that night.
“Ready as ever doll,” Bucky winked at her before turning on his heel and walking towards his room. He had a date to get ready for.

Tony doesn’t get individual’s log activities until Monday morning.
“Of course arrow boy,” she stood from her seat and made a move to exit the room, “if you’ll excuse me, I have a blind set up to get ready for.”
Part Three B - Testing the Waters…Still
It was Bucky’s turn now.

Synopsis: The story is told through the eyes of Kazuko, the unmarried daughter of a widowed aristocrat. Her search for self meaning in a society devoid of use for her forms the crux of the novel. It is a sad story, and structurally is a novel very much within the confines of the Japanese take on the novel in a way reminiscent of authors such as Nobel Prize winner Yasunori Kawabata – the social interactions are peripheral and understated, nuances must be drawn, and for readers more used to Western novelistic forms this comes across as being rather wishy-washy. Kazuko’s mother falls ill, and due to their financial circumstances they are forced to take a cottage in the countryside. Her brother, who became addicted to opium during the war is missing. When he returns, Kazuko attempts to form a liaison with the novelist Uehara. This romantic displacement only furthers to deepen her alienation from society.

quasimodo! and/or rapunzel!
Both? BOTH! Both is good.
Soft Headcanons for Quasimodo and Rapunzel!
what they smell like
-Quasimodo smells mostly like Notre Dame; stone, dust, cantles, etc. He also smells faintly of wood varnish, cedar wood, and chestnut, from all his work carving.
-Rapunzel smells like lavender, paint, and hazelnut. She’s not too fond of eating hazelnuts, but after nearly 18 years of hazelnut soup, the smell never really comes off her.
what their favorite smells in the world are
-Quasimodo loves all kinds of smells. After spending nearly all of his life in Notre Dame, many things are new and exciting for him, especially morning markets. Filled with people, sights, sounds, and smells. He especially loves passing by bakeries, filled with fresh bread and pastries. His favorite smell though, ironically, is the early morning fresh air that breeze through the belltowers. It’s especially refreshing after a rainstorm or after finishing his before-dawn chores.
-Rapunzel has always loved the smell of home-cooked meals, but nothing quite beats the moments she’s caught Eugene cooking breakfast. They smell especially wonderful when he surprises her with breakfast in bed.
what pajamas they wear/what they wear to sleep in
-Quasimodo doesn’t have many worldly possessions, both because of his faith and because Frollo just… failed to provided above the bare minimum of care, so he’ll either just sleep in his green tunic from the day before (sans the belt, tights, and shoes, or… he’ll sleep in the buff. He might still be self conscious about how he looks, but at night there’s no one around to see his disfigured form, so it’s not so bad.
-Rapunzel has a wide variety of nightgowns to choose from now that she’s a princess, but more often then not, she prefers to steal one of Eugene’s tunics and sleep in that instead.
my favorite ship (if applicable) and a cute hc about them
-Quasimodo and Rapunzel because this kind of applies to both of them lol: I actually like quite a few ships with Quasi! It’s hard to pic a fav. I like QuasixEsmerelda, QuasixPeobus, QuasixRapunzel, QuasixEugene, QuasixClopin, QuasixEsmereldaxPhoebus, and QuasixRapunzelxEugene. I just general love imagining Quasi getting a lot of love ;u; Soooo here’s some headcanons for all of them!
-Quasi/Esmerelda: Esmerelda likes to accompany Quasi through the morning markets or festivals, and always encourages him to go without his hood over his face. It takes a few tries to get him to show his face, but in the end Esme wins out. She always rewards his courage with a kiss on the cheek.
-Quasi/Phoebus: Phoebus likes to bring Quasimodo out drinking with him and watching the fun enfold, not because he likes Quasimodo get drunk, but because he likes watching the hunchback out-drink other poor haughty sods. Since Quasi grew up around communal wine, he can basically hold his own for ten rounds before feeling it, something most other stubborn fools don’t expect from the quiet little guy.
-Quasi/Rapunzel: They’ll spend hours together, working on personal craft projects, quietly focused. Rapunzel is a lot more fidgetty and openly affectionate than Quasi allows himself to be, while Quasi will usually stay in one seated position for hours on end, and he’ll get so distracted with his models or mobiles that he won’t notice Rapunzel’s been painting little murals on his arms until she starts giggling.
-Quasi/Eugene: When Quasi made a wooden figurine of Eugene and Rapunzel, Eugene was completedly and utterly shocked that Quasi actually got his nose right. (Quasi later admitted that it took him several tries, as he kept accidentally chipping the nose off.)
-Quasi/Clopin: Clopin likes roping Quasimodo into his various schemes, especially if they involve his routine street puppet shows. Since Quasi is good friends with one of his regular customers (the little girl in the purple dress, who I’ve named Agnes), he’ll have Quasi sit in the crowd with the children all piled around him like he’s a big stuffed animal. The longer Quasi sits there, the more children sit with him, the bigger Clopin’s audience becomes. But Quasi doesn’t mind. He likes the attention, and is very gentle when having dozens of children hang off of him.
-Quasi/Esmerelda/Phoebus: Whenever the three of them sit or lie together, Esmerelda and Phoebus always insist that Quasi sit in the middle. Because he’s so short, it’s the only way they can all be sort of leaning on each other/touching each other. Quasi tends to fall asleep when embraced between the two of them, since he’s so used to just going months on end without physical contact, he just gets so relaxed.
-Quasi/Rapunzel/Eugene: The three of them (well, mostly Rapunzel and Qausimodo) enjoy jumping and sliding down the cathedral together, but since Eugene has no monumental strength or magica hair to speak of, he’s often left clinging to Quasimodo for dear life while the trio parkour their way from column to tower to buttress.
my favorite friendship (if applicable) and a cute hc about them
-See previous answers lol. I prefer platonic love to romantic love overall.
a song that reminds me of them
-Quaismodo: When She Loved Me / Sky’s Still Blue / En Bas
-Rapunzel: Her Morning Elegance / Endlich sehe ish das Licht / Heaven’s Light
what animal i think they would be if they were an animal
-I think Quasimodo would be either a Ram or a Boar. Something seen as wild or ugly that can be easily domesticated with enough care and love.
-Rapunzel would probbaly be eithe a pony or a deer. Something seeminly cute but badass if threatened enough
what position they sleep in
-Quasi has to sleep on his front of left sit to keep from hurting his spine too much. He doesn’t move a lot in his sleep , but can be woken up very easily because he doesn’t sleep very soundly/has a very hard time staying relaxed.
-Rapunzel will sleep in pretty much any position. She also tends to move, kick, roll, and steal the sheets while she sleeps, and it takes a very loud alarm to wake her up if she has to be awake before dawn.
their favorite drink
-Quasi prefers wine, but won’t turn his nose up to mead or beer. He also really loves hot cocoa. The first time he ever tried hot chocolate, he cried and tried his best not to chug it so he could savor it.
-Rapunzel loves pretty much anything she tries and is very open to trying new things. She loves tropical fruit and oranges especially, but if she lived in the era when mint julips and mimosas were a thing, those would be her favorites.
a gift i would give them if i could
-Quasi: my undying love and like… a million hugs. Or just one long, reeeeeeally tight hug. And also probably a trip to Disneyworld. Just to see how he’d react.
-Rapunzel: IDK man what do you get a princess who now literally has it all??? The power to eradicate hazelnuts everywhere, maybe.

But, this is a collaboration with the one and only @worldwidebt7 so please keep an eye for an illustrated version of this oneshot. Please enjoy the show!
The Oneshot ll The Comic
“It has recently been reported that that troublesome hybrid, Choi Jae-Hwa, has been apprehended by the local police this morning, let’s hope that they have her for more than 24 hours”
The TV outside of the temporary cell blared on about things happening in the world, which was quite enjoyable, despite the fact that it was muted. The local radio made up for the lack of sound. The shackles around my wrists was nothing new to me. It’s been like this for years. Since my parents had been hunted and killed by a pack of wolves, I have been on my own since I was 11. I remember what happened so clearly.
~10 years prior~
We had gone on a walk in the forest, hand in hand with my parents, Yoona and Taemin. My parents’ relationship baffled quite a lot of people, considering my mother was a bunny hyrbid and my father was a fox hybrid, but they somehow made it work. I ran ahead of my parents, looking at the flowers that grew.
“Eomma, look!” My eleven year old self called out to her, pointing at a Lily of a Valley. My mother walked over, looking at the pretty flora.
“Very pretty, just like you!” She exclaimed, pressing a kiss to my cheek before joining my father once more. Suddenly, I could sense the worry of my mother. She was turned away from me, looking towards the deeper part of the woods. Her ears were at their fullest height and her body was tensing up.
“Honey, are you alright?” My father asked, turning her face towards him. My mother’s coffee brown eyes were scared, terrified.
“We need to get out of here. Now! Jae-Hwa, come on, we’re leaving.” She answered my father before calling out to me. Just as I grabbed my mother’s hand, a pack of wolves jumped out from behind the trees.
“A family I see, a full course meal.” The biggest and clearly the leader called out to the pack and my family, licking his lips. He charged at my father, knocking him to the ground. He started to bite him, first his arms, then his stomach.
“Yoona. take Jae-Hwa and run!” He called out weakly, attempting to bite back to no avail. My mother was about to turn when she was taken out from behind and in the same position as my father. There was nothing I could do.
“Jae-Hwa, run!” was the last thing my mother cried out before she couldn’t do anything but accept her fate. I followed her words, turning on my heel and running away from the scene. I was quite fast for a rabbit hybrid, being able to outrun the female wolves that ran after me. I ran as far as I could before I reached the small village I called home, but this time, returning without my only guardians.
Times sure do change, don’t they? I had been caught up in my own thoughts, not realizing that it was now dark outside. Well, time to execute the plan...again. I always kept a bobby pin in my hair, which it pinned back my fringe. Despite being handcuffed, it was surprisingly simple to grab the sliver of metal. With the bobby pin in hand, I began to pick the lock on the cuffs, hearing a satisfying ‘clink’, telling me I succeeded with step one. I quietly shifted to the other side of my cell before a voice interrupted me.
“Escaping again, I see.” Seungri’s voice rung out across the empty hall. I smiled softly at his voice. Seungri had been the only person who actually bothered to talk to me from behind his own bars.
“You’ve seen me do it so many times, yet you still haven’t told them. I can’t help but wonder as to why. Care to tell me?” I responded, pressing my back against the wall, curiosity getting the better of me.
“I know you only do this to survive, you’re nineteen, you can’t do anything about it, it’s your way of survival.” He called out, leaning forward on the bars that kept him in the small human enclosure. I smiled weakly, before parting my lips to speak again.
“Hey Seungri, thanks...for having my back.” I mumbled sincerely, grabbing some loose bricks on the wall. He smirked and gave you a kind look.
“No problem, kid.” He finished the conversation before heading back to his small bed. Just as I started to squeeze through the small window, a guard began to walk down the hall.
“Hey, what are you doing!?” The structured, wide shouldered man started yelling, pulling his keys out of his pocket and unlocking the barred enclosure. My fight or flight instincts kicked in. If I don’t run, I will possibly be thrown into some sort of pit. Then again, I’m already destined for hell. But I can’t possibly fight this man, he’s probably been through a lot of training and there is no way that someone like me will be able to win, especially a rabbit hybrid. I squeezed my thin body through the bars and dropped to the ground below just as he entered. A cold sweat broke out on my forehead and I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. I’ve escaped this place many times before so this wasn’t difficult to do. Now, where to go now? So I did the only thing I knew how to do since I was 11.
I ran.
I was well away from the small community jail, even though a statement had been issued for my arrest...again. The evening markets were lit up like a Christmas tree and the smell of the food was causing my stomach to rumble. I flipped up my dirty lilac hoodie and tried my best to flatten my ears. I walked into the bustle of the market, chatter and the laughter of the small village children echoed throughout the small venue. My attention was turned to a stall that seemed to be selling baked goods, cakes, bread, pastries, the whole lot. The short and plump woman that stood behind the display table was busy talking with customers and making sure the bread in the small portable oven was burning. ‘She won’t notice if I swiped a few things, will she?’ I thought to myself, taking a loaf of bread from the table as well a blueberry muffin and was reaching for a croissant when the woman grabbed my bony wrist in her hand.
“And just what do you think you’re doing, young lady?” She asked, her eyes piercing holes in my personal bubble. I attempted to shake her hand off but her grip only tightened.
“I asked you a question, now answer me, girl!” She yelled with an authoritative voice, her other hand flicking off my hoodie, revealing my ears. Being one of the few hybrids in town since my parents were killed, people immediately recognized me. A wave of anxiety hit me and once again, fight or flight kicked in. I could either confront the woman and end up being handed in to the police or run with food in hand. The latter seemed to be the better idea, so with a final glance towards the woman, I sped off. I could hear the woman yell something along the lines of ‘You mangy animal!’ but I couldn’t hear her. Some people tried to chase after me, but being an animal with agility, none of them could catch me. I was looking behind me as I kept running through the market, smirking when I saw how far behind me they were. Doing this however meant I didn’t see the figure in front of me. I ran into them, knocking me to the ground. While the loaf of bread stayed in my grasp, the blueberry flew out of my pocket and into a nearby bush.
Well, there goes dessert...
I held my head for a moment to stop it from spinning. Suddenly, a voice spoke and a hand was in front of my face.
“I’m so sorry, miss. Are you alright?” The voice was one that sounded like it belonged to an angel and when I lifted my head, he certainly looked like one. His soft brown hair hung in front of his eyes, his skin was like honey but his most mesmerizing was his big doe eyes. If he had a tail or antlers, I would have mistaken him for a deer hybrid. I slowly took his hand, the break still in my hand.
“I’m fine.” I said coldly. I didn’t let his features get in the way of the fact that he was a human. Humans were ruthless and they cared not for any hybrids, only to lock them up, sell them and mistreat them. I stood up and brushed off my knees and went to walk away from him when he called out to me.
“Hey, be careful. There’s a swarm of people down there looking for someone who fits your looks. I would suggest heading back into town. It’s safer there.” He informed me and smiled warmly. I nodded before brushing past him, walking in the direction that leads back to the village. I climbed the small hill that wasn’t that well lit. I saw the plump woman wailing to a policeman, probably about our ordeal. I smiled to myself, knowing that I escaped their grasp twice today.
Sunrise was always the prettiest over the village. Especially when you are perched on top of the school building roof, it’s where you got the best view. My chestnut brown hair didn’t look greasy in the light and it made the freckles on my mocha skin visible. I loved these times, where I wasn’t constantly on the run from the police, being given stares from parents and shielding me from their children’s vision like I was some sort of beast. I was used to it though. Most people in the village resented or were afraid of me, well, everyone except one. Kim Seokjin, the owner of the local cafe and the person who has known me since I was a baby. Which I was on my way to see. He always supplies me breakfast and never gave up on me, even after I started getting into trouble with the police. I pushed the glass door open, the bell above it ringing. Seokjin’s gaze snapped up from wiping down the breakfast bar/counter and gave me a loving smile.
“Well, if it isn’t Snowy Valley’s most wanted. Welcome back, JaeJae. How have you been?” He announced as soon as he saw me. I smile at my nickname and went to the counter.
“Oh, you know. It was on the radio again. I was able to escape. If they keep putting me in the same cell, they are never gonna learn that I can escape so easily. Although, I ran into someone last night. I’ve never seen him before, but he wasn’t scared of me, nor did he seem to recognize me but he warned me of a search party that was assigned to me.” I explained, my ears turned sideways in confusion. Seokjin smiled and walked towards to the barista coffee maker and started making me my usual, a mug of hot mocha.
“I believe that’s the new kid. He came in here a few weeks ago and introduced himself as Jungkook. He seemed like a nice kid. Said he recently moved in to finally live on his own. He was very quiet and reserved however. He did seem comfortable talking to me. Overheard the news report on you and asked me if I knew you.”
“To which you replied yes?”
“Well, considering you are like my daughter, I had no choice but to say yes. After I confirmed that, he smiled to himself and whispered something about you being adorable.” I blushed at the last comment.
“Jin, stop it. No he didn’t. How old is he, he seemed pretty young to me.”
“Only a couple years older than you, he’s 21.” He looked younger if I was being honest.
“He’s still a human, but a very good looking kid.” I admitted. I watched Jin frown before smirking.
“But not as handsome as me, right JaeJae?” I burst into laughter.
“Of course not.”
Out and about today was quiet, very quiet for Snowy Valley. The reason for this was probably that it was Monday morning, which meant school went back for another week. I wandered around aimlessly before I stumbled across a newly opened bakery. I peeked inside to see a tall, thin woman who seemed to be in her mid-thirties behind the counter, a kind smile on her face. I slipped inside and looked at the assortment of baked goods that chanted my name from behind the sliding glass door. This was one of those bakeries where they were able to be used by the customers. My stomach rumbled immediately.
I’ll just grab a few loaves and some muffins and I will be gone.
I reached for the bread, successfully grabbing without being detected and with a couple muffins stuffed in my pockets, I headed towards the door. That’s when a shrill voice screeched “Hey! You didn’t pay for those!” At those words, the plump woman from last night appeared from the back, rolling pin in hand.
“It’s you again, you feral animal!” She shrieked, running from behind the counter and towards me.
Well, now I was battered, no food and extremely hungry. It was late at night and no one was around. I was in the back alley behind an apartment complex, near the dumpster. My eye was bruised, my muscles hurt and I’m pretty sure my stomach was bruised.
Looks like I’m sleeping here tonight...
I picked up sounds of footsteps but couldn’t be fucked opening my eyes.
“Hey, are you alright?” A familiar voice asked, causing me to open my eyes. My gaze was met by the doe-eyed boy from last night. His eyes were glazed with concern and worry. I scoffed.
“Do I look fucking okay to you?” I spat coldly, crossing my arms over my stomach, only to remember that’s where it hurt the most and hissing in pain.
“Wait, let me help you. I’ll take you to my apartment and I’ll treat you.” He calmly said, grabbing my hand. I ripped my hand from his grip, staring daggers at him.
“Unhand me, human! Don’t touch me!” I exclaimed, trying to get away from him and run, but my legs refused to move.
“Okay, I won’t touch you. But please, you’re hurt and if you aren’t treated, it’s only gonna get worse.” He explained with a hint of concern in his voice, as he knelt down to my height. While my brain didn’t trust him, my body acted according to my heart. I followed him with my head hung low and not saying a word. He led me up several staircases and to a door with the number ‘97′ on the door. He unlocked the door and opened the door for me to enter first. I scowled at him and entered the small apartment. I looked at the dark room, my night vision being one of the best thing in the situation. I heard the door slam behind me and I turned around, my ears pricked all the way up in fear. My eyes grew bigger and a small whimper escaped my lips.
“Woah there, Bugs, no need to freak out. I didn’t mean to scare you.” He smiled, revealing his teeth that looked similar to me. I didn’t realize how much he looked like a rabbit, so much so that it was almost scary. Before a single could escape my lips, he grabbed my wrist and guided me to his bathroom, his grip remaining tight despite me struggling to release myself. He finally reached the bathroom and lifted me up quickly and placed me on the counter, our faces only a mere few inches away. I scowled at him, my bangs covering one of my eyes.
“I can walk myself, you know.” I spat, eyeing him suspiciously as he grabbed ointment and bandages from a cupboard. He only looked at me and chuckled a little.
“It was the best way to make sure you didn’t run away. I can’t let you leave untreated.” He replied, unscrewing the cap from the ointment and instructed me to extend my arms. I still didn’t trust him. My experiences with humans were not pleasant, as my body clearly showed. This was the only way I could survive. I hissed in pain as I felt a cold liquid drop onto one of the scrapes on my wrist, retracting it back as quick as I could.
“That fucking burns!” I shrieked at him, examining the invisible damage. He grasped my wrist and yanked it towards, causing me to growl slightly.
“Stop being a baby, Jae-Hwa.” He commanded, not looking at me at all, but that right now was the least of my concerns.
“How the hell do you know my name?” I hissed sourly, squinting my eyes as I stared daggers into his soul. He finally looked up and sighed through his nose, only to giggle.
“You’re probably the most controversial citizen, let alone hybrid in this village. How could I not know you. I’m Jungkook, by the way. Pleased to make your acquaintance.” He held his hand out for me to shake, but I stared at it before looking at him with my cheeks puffed out.
“Who said you were an acquaintance of mine?” I seethed, my ears flattened against my head in distrust. Jungkook looked a little dejected at my words but I didn’t care.
“Well, you seem pretty comfortable with me touching you, despite what you’re saying, but Jin said you didn’t like humans that much, him being the only acceptance.” His words sung out almost like a melody as he wrapped my wrist in a clean, white bandage. I tensed at his words as my eyes wandered down to my wrist, wearing his sculpted hands guided the bandage around my wrist and the lower half of my palm. He secured the white cloth with some medical tape and grabbed a small plastic band-aid and placed it quickly on my cheek. I was slightly taken aback by his action but didn’t say anything. He looked at me for a second and saw the way my arms were folded across the lower half of my stomach.
“Is there anywhere else that hurts?” He asked, eyes watching my expression carefully. I scoffed and blew my bangs out of my eyes.
“No.” I replied bluntly, lying straight through my teeth. His eyes softened at my words, clearly still concerned.
“Jae-Hwa, I know this may sound weird but, may I look under your shirt?” He requested hesitantly, the fear of rejection smelt so strong, it made me crinkle my nose.
“I-I...fine.” I mumbled in defeat as I lifted my shirt no higher than my middle. A large blue and purple bruise covered the majority of the left side of my stomach, the right covered in red hand prints. Jungkook’s eyes were blown open, clearly terrified at the sight he saw.
“J-Jae-Hwa, how badly does it hurt?” He questioned timidly, his eyes still fixated on the blue and purple flower that was bloomed on my stomach.
“Does it look bad to you, genius? It hurts to even fucking breathe.” I cursed at him, eyes glowing a soft amber before returning to their natural color.
“S-Sorry, that was dumb question, I get it. But can you please stop acting like such a jerk for five minutes and let me bandage it please. If it stays uncovered, it’s not gonna heal as fast.”
Just let your guard down for a one moment, please...
I inhaled deeply and looked at him straight in the eyes.
“Fine, but I’m extremely thirsty and a bathroom isn’t exactly a comforting environment.” Was any place comforting to me?
“Oh, yeah, sure. I’ll make some tea, and then we can just talk, so I can understand you a little bit more.” Jungkook excitedly replied, practically bouncing on his toes. I hissed as Jungkook suddenly placed pressure onto my bruise to wrap it up in a similar white cloth that was around my hand. He secured it and moved onto my left elbow. He squeezed a little bit of ointment on, causing me to hiss in pain again. He wrapped up the disinfected graze and weaved his way out of the bathroom, supposedly the kitchen. I groaned as I slipped off the counter and down the passage that connected the rooms together. I saw Jungkook hunched over the stove, preparing to cups of tea and looked at me as he realized my presence.
“I only have green tea. I hope you don’t mind.” He smiled awkwardly as he placed a teabag in each cup. I smiled to myself, making sure he didn’t see, as I played with the strings of my hoodie. That was when I realized how disgusting I looked and felt. Damn my stupidity for not realizing before he dressed me.
“You alright, Jae?” He asked, using the nickname only Jin called me, hence catching me off guard. Normally, I would have spat a melody of swear words at him, but remembering what he had asked me to do in the bathroom refrained me in doing so.
“I feel disgusting.” I spoke my mind in a hushed voice, embarrassed at my state. Jungkook chuckled before brushing past me and down the hallway, disappearing into his room. This would be the perfect time to escape, however, I remember that I have nowhere to run, the major factor is that, my feet remained rooted to the ground. A few minutes later, Jungkook emerged from his room with a pair of sweatpants, an oversized shirt and black hoodie in a pile in his hands.
“I found some clothes that I don’t wear much so you can change into these for tonight. I’ll wash the clothes you’re wearing now if you want, that’s if you’re staying.” He said in a voice that was almost asking, if not begging, me to stay with him. I took the clothes in my hands, simply nodding and quick-walking to his bedroom. His bedroom was small, but not as small as I expected. I decided not to dwell too much and quickly stripped off the lilac hoodie, the white shirt, ripped jeans and the socks with way too many holes than I was willing to admit. I let the sweatpants sit loosely on my waist, the waistband hidden by the shirt several sizes too big and finally the hoodie. I slipped out of his room and back into the kitchen, where Jungkook placed the two teacups on the table and sat down.
“Take a seat.” He said simply, brushing his bangs out of his face. I followed his instructions and slumped into my chair.
“Now, there’s one thing I want to know, why do you hate humans so much?” He goes straight for the personal question, doesn’t he?
“Personal experiences, I’ve only been exposed to the evil side of humanity.” I said shortly, looking into the cup of cooling tea before taking a sip.
“But why are you so close with Seokjin?” Jungkook asked, lowering his head in an attempt to look into my eyes under my bangs.
“I knew him before my parents died. He was best friends with my father, who introduced my mother to him. He consoled me after their death, and I stayed with him until I was discovered by his landlord, who certainly didn’t like hybrids. He threatened Seokjin with homelessness if he didn’t get rid of me. I couldn’t let him live on the streets so I took my leave from the premises. It was for the best. There, you have your explanation. I steal because I have no money whatsoever, therefore I can’t buy anything, besides, I love thrill of being seen but not so much being caught.” I downed the last of my tea before standing up.
“Thanks for the tea and for treating my injuries, but I have to go.” I said abruptly, not sounding thankful at all. I turned towards the door but before I could leave, I felt a grip on my wrist.
“Oh, no you’re not. You are staying here until you’re 100% healed. It’s too dark and cold out there anyway. Please, Jae-Hwa. Be rational. Just..stay here. Take my room, it’s the least I can do.” Jungkook gave me his big doe eyes, which were utterly adorable that they made me go weak in the knees.
“Fine, but no funny business.” I said flatly, giving in. I brushed past him and entered his bedroom, pulling back the covers and slipping between them and falling asleep.
I didn’t intend to stay as long as I did. I only planned to stay there for two days, but two days slowly turned into two months. I don’t know how I convinced myself to stay, considering I was staying with the species I hated the most. Jungkook was sweet, kind and considerate, despite me giving him the cold shoulder more often than not. He always made me green tea when I had breakfast and the beverage slowly became my favorite taste ever. The days and nights passed quickly but I often went out at night. Tonight, Jungkook insisted that we went to the markets together as he always got the best food for the best prices than he did at the small supermarket we had. With my newly washed hoodie over my head, Jungkook and I stood in a sea of citizens of the valley. My eyes wandered, spotting the woman who caused me the injuries that littered my body. I felt my blood boiling that such a kind looking woman could make such a cruel act. I latched myself onto Jungkook’s arm in an attempt to keep myself from picking another fight with her.
“What are you doing?” Jungkook asked, looking utterly confused.
“Just roll with it, Jeon.” I said, calling him by his last name. I guess we grew closer than I first thought.
“Alright, Choi.” He responded coolly.
He dragged me to almost every stall in the markets, his hands occupied by brown paper bags, filled with a range of different items. He finally stopped at the stall I had been dreading, the bakery stall. The plump woman hadn’t noticed me standing behind Jungkook, clearly blown away by his beauty.
“And how can I help you, sir?” She asked, her voice so sickly sweet, I almost burst into laughter. Jungkook’s eyes scanned the display table before pointing to a loaf of bread and two blueberry muffins. The woman flashed him a smile before grabbing grabbing two different white paper bags, one long one for the bread and a smaller one for the muffins. Jungkook paid the woman and was turning away from her when she finally spotted me. She immediately stopped smiling and her face wrinkled in disgust.
“You filthy animal! What are you going to steal from this nice man? Police! Police!” She yelled, catching the attention of quite a crowd of people. A policeman came running up to the woman, panic written across his face.
“Ma’am, what’s wrong? What happened?” He questioned, watching as the woman broke into fake sobs.
“It’s the hybrid! She tried to rob one of my customers.” She fake cried with a subtle smirk on her face. The policeman saw my lilac hoodie and started booking it after me. My instincts kicked in as I grabbed Jungkook’s hand and started running from the scene. Jungkook exclaimed in surprise, dropping half of the bags, including the loaf of bread. The policeman was hot on our heels as I rounded into an alleyway and climbing on top of a dumpster. The policeman rounded the corner and we were cornered.
“Choi Jae-Hwa, stand down and we won’t need to do anything irrational.” The broad man commanded, his eyes dark and serious. I looked up at the roof above me before looking back to me.
“Jungkook, I need you to trust me for a second. It might seem crazy but we’ll leave with our lives.” I said, my eyes filled with sincerity and uncertainty. I had been so cold to this boy and now, I was suddenly asking him to trust me.
Real smooth, Jae.
Jungkook looked at the officer before looking back at me. I extended my hand, part of me hoping that he would take my word and trust me.
“If it means you’re safe, that’s all that matters.” He whispered and took my hnad. A soft blush crept across my cheeks before I jumped up and grabbed onto an low ledge and pulling myself onto the roof above. I reached my hand down for Jungkook to grab.
“Oh, no you don’t.” The policeman called and attempted to grab Jungkook’s ankle. Thankfully, I was able to pull him up, the officer missing him by less than an inch. I looked into Jungkook’s face, just centimeters away from mine. I walked on the tiled roof of the abandoned building...her house.
“What is this place?” Jungkook asked, looking around before his eyes fixating on the beautiful view of the moon and stars.
“The place I grew up before all of this.” I explained, pointing to myself, indicating my criminal record.
“Why did you give up? Why did you rather have been hated for this than trying to fit in?” Jungkook asked. Silence fell upon my lips before I parted them.
“I’ve given them a reason to hate me. No matter how many wounds were on my feet, I always remember one thing...how to run away. It was the only thing I really seem to remember from my childhood. The first time I shifted with my parents and ran around with them. I know they wouldn’t be happy with what I did, but at least they know I’m surviving.” I smiled sadly, until I felt Jungkook take my hand.
“Jae-Hwa, you don’t have to do this alone, you know.” He said calmly as he looked into my moonlit eyes.
“What are you saying?” I asked, my gaze wandering over his features.
“That I have been crushing on you for far too long. I know we haven’t known each other long, but I love you and I would love to give you the best life I can, even if it means I gain my own criminal record.” My eyes widened. He is really willing to give up his entire life to be with me.
“I-I love you too, Jungkook.” I whispered, looking around. His face moved closer to mine and looked at me with love in his eyes.
“Are you really willing to give everything up?” I asked him, my heartbeat quickening. He smiled with his teeth and intertwined our fingers.
“For you, I’d be willing to give up my life.” He whispered before he pulled me in to kiss him. His lips were soft and sweet, moving professionally across my lips. I broke the kiss and smiled happily.
“What do you say, shall we go cause some trouble?” I asked with a sneaky smile. He laughed.
“Let’s do it, for we are the renegades of the entire valley.”
A/N:This is my first one shot ever. I am really proud of how it turned out and I’m sorry if it’s kinda cringey. Reminder, that this onehsot will be illustrated by the magnificent @worldwidebt7 so stay tuned for that. Until next time, my friends.

Story 4: I Am Your Arch-Nemesis ; (Romance, comedy, reverse harem, action, superheroes)

Broken Homes Fix Broken Hearts
Chapter 16
Thank you so much for reading and loving Derek and Juliet as much as @veroinnumera and I do. We still have a lot more to post and even more to still write! Please let us know what you think :D
-------
What if he meets some gorgeous police officer on a case? What if he gets bored of dating a librarian? What if he realizes he’s way out of your league?
The thoughts bounced around Juliet’s head with the force of a ten pound bowling ball. They were painful and heavy and becoming too much. There was no way she was getting any sleep tonight. Checking the time on her phone, she paused a second to stare at the background. It was a picture of Derek reading to the little ones, the day he’d come to help out. She’d taken under the guise of needing photos for the library’s website...but it had been so fucking adorable she had to hold onto it. Maybe...Before some terrible thought could follow, Juliet dialed his number. If she felt like shit she was allowed to share it with the man she loved. It was okay to be vulnerable. It was still terrifying though.
Thank god they’d wrapped everything up. It had been over a week and he was more than ready to go home. Derek had missed her. Everytime a text came in from a member of the team regarding the case, her picture would flash and remind him of home. He loved his job, but now that he had someone in his life that he loved just as much, it was hard being away all the time, especially on these long cases.
When the phone rang in his pocket, he hoped it was her, smiling when her name popped up. “Juliet? The case is closed. We’ll be coming home tomorrow. How are you? I’ve missed you.”
The sound of his voice put a smile on her face. “That’s great! And I’m fine. No. I’m not fine, that was a lie. Sorry. I’m still working on this open communication thing. And now I’m rambling...long story short my brain is treating me like crap, so I thought I should call you.”
Derek hated the fact that her brain did what it did to her, but he sighed happily knowing she’d called him before the thoughts had spiraled out of control - hopefully. “I’m glad you called,” he said softly, leaning back against the wall. “Your brain is an asshole and I can promise you that none of what it’s saying is true. I love you and I miss you.”
“So you haven’t met a very sexy police officer? Who for some reason my brain suggests looks like a Victoria Secret model and has a British accent, because that accent is insanely attractive?”
“Absolutely not,” Derek replied firmly but softly, putting on his best British accent as he continued. “I haven’t met any sexy police officers and even if I had, I wouldn’t pursue anything because I have a sexy librarian at home waiting for me.”
Juliet snickered on the other side of the line. Calling had been hard originally, but it was for the best. If she hadn’t called, she wouldn’t have been able to hear his absolutely horrible British accent. “Is that it? Your accent?”
“Accents aren’t my thing!” He replied mock defensively. “I’m a kid from Chicago!”
She laughed softly. “Alright. But it’s okay because you have other things, Derek Morgan.”
“And what are they?” Derek asked, half jokingly half extremely curious.
“I’m not telling you! You’re head is big enough already!” Juliet exclaimed through giggles.
“If you don’t tell me I’ll start speaking in a British accent again.” He warned teasingly.
“Okay! Okay! Fine! You win just please don’t speak in a British accent!” She pleaded.
Juliet tried to stop the blushing even though there was no one there to see it. Knowing Derek, he could hear her face flushing through the phone. “Well, as Penelope has said, you’re built like a Greek God. I have imagined many dirty things since you left. On top of that, you’re intelligent and strong and funny and kind, so basically I have the whole package.” Yea, and you-Shut up, brain!
She had to stop it in its tracks. “You going to sleep? How early are you getting up tomorrow to get back on the jet?”
Derek felt his head swell up a bit, but got himself back to earth quickly. “Seven AM. I’ll need a lot of coffee. Talk to you tomorrow on the way home?”
“Yes, and Derek? I love you.”
“I love you more.”
Somehow she didn’t think that was possible, but she wasn’t about to fight him on that either.
-------
“Actually, the cement industry is worth roughly $9.9 billion. Due to the inherently transportable nature it thrives in almost any geography, which is part of the reason there are cement mills in 34 of the 50 states. But, that’s actually pretty ironic because we still import about 10% of our cement!” Reid exclaimed, leaning back in his seat. “Morgan? Morgan are you listening to me?” He asked frowning slightly at the agent across from him who was just staring at his phone and smiling.
Derek’s head snapped up. “Sorry, Pretty Boy. I’m just excited to get home.”
“Juliet?” Reid asked, already knowing the answer. “What’s she saying that’s got you so happy? Or is it just going home?”
It could be. But it wasn’t. Juliet had decided to “come out of her shell” a bit and text him exactly what she wanted to be doing to him at the moment. Of course he was on the jet and couldn’t do anything about it. If she had done this last night? He definitely would’ve taken the situation into his own hands so to speak. “Not just going home. But I’m not giving away the details.”
Reid took a few seconds to get the gist of what Morgan was talking about, but then his eyes went wide. It was called sexting, wasn’t it? “Oh, OH! O-Okay forget I asked.”
Emily wandered over from grabbing coffee. “You’d better not screw this up Morgan, or I may just ask her out myself.”
“C’mon Prentiss! Don’t be like that.” Derek groaned.
“Like what? She’s hot and intelligent and I’m not blind.” Emily teased. “But seriously, you better not screw this up.”
JJ popped up from her seat and turned to him. “I second Emily. I mean, I have Will and I am happily taken, but she’s gorgeous and funny and smart, so don’t mess up.”
“How would I mess it up?”
Everyone within earshot (which was everyone but Hotch), turned to give him the side-eye. “Okay, so I have a bit of a reputation! This is different!”
Rossi snickered, remembering the looks well. Granted he had three ex-wives, but he remembered that lighter than air feeling of being in love. “We can see that. Any plans for when you get back?”
Derek shrugged. He hadn’t really thought about it; he was just excited to get back. “Well, she does,” Emily laughed.
“What?” Derek asked.
“JJ, Penelope and I are stealing her for a girls’ night.” He was about to put up a fight when Emily cut him off. “Deal with it!”
“Just don’t make a move on my girl.”
-------
“Well, there’s gel nails and then there’s acrylic nails. You can do those however you want - crazy colors, French tips even. You would look great with French tips. Actually you would look great with any nails because look at you, and you could go short or long, and then-”
“Oh god, Penelope stop,” Juliet laughed. “Too many options. Also, can I call you babygirl too because I’m kind of jealous that Morgan has a babygirl and I don’t?”
Garcia curtsied, her smile wide. “Absolutely. I’m the residential babygirl. When was the last time you had your nails done?”
“Ummm...does me dipping my hand into a can of paint when I was five count?”
“What?! You’ve never had them done?”
Juliet shook her head feeling like a deer in the headlights. “N-no? I mean I guess I just never really got the point?”
Penelope clutched at her chest as if experiencing pains before pulling Juliet into her arms and patting her on the back. “Oh my sweet sweet child. It’s okay, babygirl is here now. You’re safe.”
Unable to help herself Juliet burst out laughing, voice muffled by Penelope’s sweater. Unfortunately it sounded like she was crying. “Oh my god Juliet, are you okay?” Garcia asked full of distress.
All Juliet could do was nod she was laughing too hard.
JJ and Emily shared a look as if to say young people these days despite the fact they were all roughly the same age. “Okay, okay c’mon. Let’s get this show on the road.” Emily pressed gesturing to take their seats.
After much deliberation and a little convincing on Penelope’s part, Juliet decided to go with slightly longer than normal for her nails in a light turquoise color she was really drawn to. “Mmm, this feels nice,” she said in a daze as the technician was finishing up with a hand massage. “I could get used to this.”
Emily was in the same position, practically falling asleep on the hand that had already dried. “I shouldn’t get used to this or I’ll sleep all the time.”
“And the problem with that?” Juliet asked.
The french manicure looked great on JJ, as it always did. Penelope of course went with the hottest of hot pinks with a little jewel on each thumb and Emily went with one of those striking reds you associate with a seductress who could just as easily kill you as kiss you. “What should we do now?”
Juliet looked toward Penelope, the resident queen of all things pampering. “Facials. We’ll practically fall asleep in the chairs.”
“Is that really a good idea?” JJ laughed.
But none of them seemed to care. They were relaxed, talked all the girl talk (including the BAU ladies wondering what Derek was like in bed) and nearly fell asleep as they’d all been afraid of doing, but it was a great day that Juliet hoped to be repeating more than once.
They parted ways and she called an Uber. The only option available was Uber Pool which Juliet wasn’t a huge fan of. Making small talk with strangers was among her worst nightmares. But it would be a short ride and she didn’t want to bother Derek to pick her up. The app said she was looking for a girl named Kerry with short blonde hair, green eyes, and a 2010 Toyota Camry.
A few moments later a car matching the description pulled up at the top of the block. The windows were blacked out. Weird...but people are entitled to their privacy. She shrugged it off and walked over opening the backseat door. The girl looking back at her through the driver’s mirror looked like the picture but she seemed...anxious. “Hi Kerry, I’m Juliet.” She smiled, extending a hand.
And that was when everything went to hell. The left side backseat door thudded shut as another figure entered the car, immediately stabbing a needle into her extended arm. As everything went hazy Juliet only had a split second to look up and see the one thing in the world that had ever truly terrified her.
Carter.
