5x11 under the influence PLOT HEAVY more like plot Javi. But it is not really plot heavy more like backstory heavy. Like the ike thornton episode.
Wow they just went around her for josie lang making her sound old hoodie kid? labelmaker playlist
captions say Zito & he is leaning on the cement all comfy You should lose two turns ryan pretty, esposito also nice shirt Shut the up (also how young of a girl scout, kinda sus) 11-midnight? How did she work the party until 1? (btw that tarp is way to square to have unwrapped a body)
lol KILLER party
check by the pool XD
starting the morning with... booze? It can be good for a hangover but... Ah she left early that's how she died before she was scheduled Good response from Regina: Great. Now I feel bad for complaining.
Becks is pretty enough with that turtleneck Oof. I mean music saves ur life like that!
What is dripping from her hair? KFC has more MSG than most chinese places
KR: If Tyrese is such big time, why is the entrance to his studio in an alley? JE: Because. Celebrities don’t want paparazzi taking their picture all the time. (he looks over to see KR: run a hand through his hair and he stops short) Yo. Did you just do the hair thing? KR: What hair thing? JE: Every time you’re about to meet a celebrity or a pretty girl you run your hand through your hair. KR: (he ignores that) TMZ said that Tyrese was at that party with Josie Lang. He’s producing her new album. JE: Yeah well, she’s no Regina. KR: I understand the image of her as a girl scout is seared into your memory, but Josie is a real vocalist. JE: Whose fan base consists of 12 year old girls … and you.
KR: Hey, since Josie was at the party I should probably take her statement, right? You got this, right bro? Thanks. XD
Been shot like seven times!?!?
"kev" & also jenny uwu
that was JUST for this year's awards!? What has he done before that!?
Unless you my momma
Nice rings on this man tho fancy shirt poofy hair lol The bitch had an assistant bitch? Reichle probably had fun "different girl" like that one tiktok audio "leah, amy, you know why we call her brianna right?" XD good it helps my street cred My man brought a lighting guy for his mugshot?
Wow that is a lot of money!
Kinda rude but she paid u anyway & was "helping her cousin" so that's good Variety in the "this one that one" stuff
mayb ethey haven't FOUND anything missing yet people are GOOD at ignoring hired help PRINTS
Ooh hooeey becks is pretty af today!! didn't holly grow up in a bunch of different places? foster care?
RC: "Monster." Now that sounds like the kind of ganged up thug that would shoot you dead and leave you in a dumpster someplace. Probably half man, half mountain, full of prison tats. Or is he quietly dangerous? Like Javier Bardem in any movie where he’s got weird hair. JE, while walking beside him: *kind of smiling/frowning at the same time* *it's a kid*
Oof mama commit suicide? the drug od was bad enough. how does this poor boy already have priors a kim long? Careful becks he is still nicknamed monster As an FNMI person this episode just... oof
KB: Hi Joey, I’m Detective Kate Beckett. Joey Malone: A major hottie is what you are. you're 14 lmao JM is just not talking at all double negative Ah he was chill denying it before this but then when murder came up he was shocked. I believe he did not do it. *camera focusses on esposito*
& then another flash to esposito Nice how he plays viddy games sito's right, you have a pimp/agent/manager JE: The brains behind this operation, that’s who. A kid like Joey goes from smash and grab to stealing a half a mil in jewelry? I don’t think so. Someone put him up to this. KR: No, it makes sense. Some savvy criminals use minors to do their dirty work. RC: Of course. A Fagin to Joey’s Oliver Twist. KR: And if Holly’s involved, that makes her the Artful Dodger. Or the Artful DJ. RC: Ooh, nicely played. also ryan is pretty you GET this kid. Yeah man. I love getting a little backstory. I just wish one of these characters was native, & I mean technically esposito is native, but I mean like, I want an iroquois person maybe. or a cree person. Heck a Metis person would be mind blowing.
JM; Hey, where’s the super hot detective? JE; Oh, you’re lookin’ at him. XD
Yeah genuinely. That's what they are like. Frickin cops. (& esposito's face kind of falls, possibly bc he was planning on saying that, possibly bc he feels for the kid & joey has been thru this before & cops made empty promises too) I p much never make promises.
So you admit there is a "he" Yeah lol this kid
Beckett & esposito are the ones talking to her hhh Yeah family is usually the best place to go for foster care temporarily while the parents get their crap in order. Heck this is why icwa exists. Tho I heard the other day that they were overturning that or smth Real prize.
KB: What about his uncle? Where is he now? Ms. Cooper (social worker): We’re trying to track him down. He may be in AC. He’s a card player. JE: Guy sounds like a real prize. CSW: You want the best option for these kids, and sometimes all you have is the least bad option. Which brings me to the issue of what to do with Joey. Are you charging him with theft? KB: We were hoping not it. CSW: (nods) So. I’ll put him in temporary foster care. JE: Whoa, whoa, whoa. He’s not safe out there in the world right now. The guy that we’re after killed a woman. He could do the same thing to Joey. CSW: Then you can put him in protective custody in juvenile hall. JE: I - I can’t just throw him in juvie. I’m trying to gain his trust here. KB: Ms. Cooper, this boy is the key to us solving a murder. CSW: Well, I’m sorry, but those are the choices. JE: hesitates. He catches sight of JOEY outside the room. JE: What if I take him? KB: *turns to look at esposito, surprised. Who is this man?* JE: That way he’s not locked up and I can keep him safe. (to KB) And I can continue to work on him. KB: * turns back to cooper* It’s an idea. KB: What about that? CSW: (sighs, shakes her head) I – I suppose I could delay his paperwork. But this would be for one night. And it means that Joey Malone is your responsibility. JE: That’s cool. I got this. The kid doesn’t have a father. He probably just needs someone to connect with. lmao sure bud like that's going to work out. I mean you may be right but u've also had years to figure out what it means, this kid might not even know.
Ok I have three clips here, but I flilmed the second two at once
INT – ESPOSITO’S APARTMENT JE walks in and stops to pick up the mail. JM follows him. Also neither of them remove their shoes. ew. JM: I’d rather have a pajama party with the lady cop. ((XD)) JE: Yeah well, it looks like I drew the short straw. ((still a little bit of bad cop in there, love it.)) JE, lookin at this teen: Literally. ((XD)) JE: hits the lights JM: looks around JM: Man, no wonder you’re single! JE: JM: No woman would spend time here unless it was against her will. ((u’r 14. But I mean 14yos date, heck I had classmates who had sex)) JM: starts hitting a sparring bag which is just in the middle of espt’s apartment, like yeah no girls wouldn’t like that JE: Yeah? What about you, Martha Stewart? What’s you place supposed to be? Shabby chic? Emphasis on shabby? JM: It’s a dive. But it’s not my fault. My uncle would rather blow all of his money at the tables. JE: Must be why he’s too busy to call us back. JM: Don’t wait by the phone. He only cares about claiming me as a dependent. makes himself comfortable on espt’s couch, putting his feet up on the coffee table. JE: My parents split up when I was 5. ((lol ok trying to connect)) JE: pushes Joey’s legs Man, get your feet off my table! (they share a glare.) Dad moved to Florida with his new wife. Most I ever got after that was a phone call and a post card. JM: Post card? JE: (nods) Yeah. JM: How old are you, anyway? ((bruh.. I send postcards still,, like if I’m traveling)) JE: Ancient. he looks dead & deadpan JE: But I’m young enough to remember what it was like. (he is quiet for a second) JM: smiles & looks off to the side ((btw I’m glad that the 14yo has acne, that’s what being 14 is like)) JE: Must miss your folks. ((bro don’t try to dig too much)) JM: … JM: After my dad died, my mom kept going. You know, she tried to pretend that we were still a normal family. She did her best to take care of me until … she couldn’t do it anymore. JE: Now you take care of yourself. ((Good line. Also sounds like experience there)) JM: Yeah. (his attitude changes) Look, man. I know you didn’t have to do this. Take me in, I mean. So uh, thanks. JE, nodding: I’ll go grab you a blanket; pillow. JM: Hey, at least you didn’t skimp out on the audio visual budget. ((Heck yeah. We love video games in this house. Well & board games. & all play, adults need play too, dogs never really outgrow their need for play, why should humans?) JE: You know that’s right. Oh, and I’ve got Assassin’s Creed 3. ((& a bunch of other stuff I assume?)) So go ahead and knock yourself out. ((Nice art btw)) JE: Oh, and uh … put it on dual player mode so I can come back and school you. He’s in the closet pulling linens for Joey JM: $20 bucks says you won’t make it past level 1. ((OMG I NOTICED HIS VOICE CHANGED DURING THAT PHRASE– HE WAS LITERALLY IN THE PROCESS OF IT AS HE SAID THAT,, POSSIBLY TO IMPLY HE WAS STILL IN THE ROOM)) JE: (scoffs) You’re crazy. Leaves the light on JE: comes back into the living room with a smile but stops short. It’s empty. Joey’s gone, but the window is open. Esposito sighs heavily. He is so annoyed
Oh gosh darn! When I copypaste smth from my ctrl-h google doc (where I change the names from ESPOSITO with a bunch of blank lines between the phrases like the transcript to what u see on tumblr) to tumblr, the * maked it italicized! Crud!
INT – TWELFTH PRECINCT BULLPEN JE walks in with JM handcuffed to his wrist. KR: … gives the setup an odd look. JE: Sit down. Joey does, and Esposito transfers the cuff from his wrist to the desk. KR, spinning his chair to face them: O~kay. Care to explain? JE: What? The handcuffs? KR: No, no. The stylish shoes that you’re wearing. Yess, the handcuffs. JE: Well, junior here tried to pull a Houdini on me last night. JM: Who the hell is Houdini? ((espt was not born in the late 1800s idiot)) JE: (harshly) Shut up. KR: Out the window? JE: Yeah. *sits* KR: Down the fire escape?? JE: Yeah. And then on to a moving garbage truck. Then on a skateboard for five blocks that took him all the way to the L-train. ((Whose? Also where was this kid going?)) JM: *picks up a signed baseball from espt’s desk* ((Kid has some neat gloves)) KR: (smiles) How’d you keep up? JM: He didn’t. JE, turning to face him so he can talk to him: Shut up. (sees the baseball) What the – (he grabs the baseball) Give me that. (he puts the ball back) Commandeered this dude’s bicycle. ((YOU KEPT UP TO A MOVING GARBAGE TRUCK AND SKATEBOARD ON A BIKE?)) KR: *Nods & smiles so big & bright, checks his nails while listening to the story* JE: Then he lost me in the subway. (Joey laughs) But then I caught him. At the next stop. Kid’s wily. But I’m wilier. KR: * just is enjoying the story with a smile* Wow. Just like The French Connection. JE: ..?
Kid just sitting there biting his nails You will go canvass? With esposito? alone? with a uniformed officer?
KB: Unless he gave you a name. JE: Uh … no. Not exactly. wdym not exactly?? Whata does that Look Between Them mean?
JE: Looks like he got his first taste with a B and E when he was 11 years old. Oof KB: He graduated to burglary when he was 12 when he broke into a mom and pop corner store along with an unidentified adult male. Ooof (also how mom+pops are off limits)
Shane Winters HER FILE TOO? also beckett's pretty shiny shirt <3
JE: This dude’s dabbled in everything. Or maybe castle, she did not clean herself up & get herself out, he stopped using her when she turned 18
Ryan's back! (btw every member here is pretty rn. Castle only as pretty as normal tho. ryan also only as pretty as normal but dshkjdh. becks all shiny & espt nice shirt too.) & castle knows the car RC: Yeah, and a roomy trunk for all your body moving needs. Esposito *just walks away* (no explanation anything he just thought for a split sec & then Left)
Poor LT lol he's on babysitting duty ALSO EW SHOES ON THE COUCH *awkwardly tapping his thumbs. It must be a patience test for interrogations when you become detective, he tells himself* JE: Where’s Shane Winters? JM: Where’s my soda? LT is just happy to be out of here he doesn't care that he's on soda duty
Love how espt picks him up like that. Sometimes you need a rough hand. JM: I'm not a rat ... Valid? But bro? Ok what is in it for you? You get a cut of the earnings? you get his protection in terms of him bailing you out...?
JE: Meh, I just want to wring this little bastard’s neck right now. So valid bestie JE: Freakin’ kids, man. (to castle) I don’t know how you do it, bro. RC: Oohhh. No, no. I lucked out with Alexis. At a certain point you realize you’re just dealing with someone who hasn’t been around as long as we have. ((THAT IS SO TRUE)) They have to find their way. JE: The problem is, he’s already found his way. He just doesn’t see where it’s going to put him. ((or maybe he thinks he's Built Different))
Garcia, new name!
"roll" *plays with keys* On your own babe? nice toss. also do they each have their own car or,,?
Boobies. Beer. Western vibes. Cant in the camera. Interesting movement too. Wow big buff guy. *looks him down* ... A bag of ice? It depends on whether it is good for the plot or not if they can beat ppl up or if they get beat up. Everything ends with a kick to the balls. My man must be wearing steel toed boots or knee guards or smth. Or just good aim. man's not having kids any time soon that shaking breath ohhh & "excuse me" lmao
How does he know his name hangin out lol Yeah too loyal. But I respect Monster. Put them on yourself? Esposito is using power & dominance to control the situation. Love it Holy crap the way he PUSHES on the handcuffs is so good! I remember playing with plastic handcuffs like that as a kid
"soft spot for kids" did not come out right hun Weird lighting. This room needs to be brighter; one way glass needs one room to be brighter than the other golden and diamond encrusted NO-- NO NO NOOOOOO (but will fdny find an accelerant?) but whasnt' that car expensive or smth? A minute alone...? Esposito, Javi my man hold on what are you thinking? & ryan agrees to leave? CLOSING THE CURTAINS...
tablet? Joey genuinely looks sad JE: Now I’d beat your skinny little ass for being stupid if it’d change anything Oh computer r u lying? da wanting to try him as an adult? u haven't even charged him... SW: Look, man. The kid did the crime, he’s gotta do the time. SW a couple minutes ago: I have a soft spot for kids (which is why I bailed out the teenager) Did joey malone really think that shane would protect him? carried heat as in gun? Yeah no Monster of COURSE he'd kill her
Yeah he can buy an alibi at least u know it came from his TYPE of car WHERE is her gun? I still say bling...
Ryan's hair lol it REALLY looks like mine Poor chinese line cook lol just doin his job & these detectives are holding open his door & getting in his way near the dumpster Is that blood or is it just gross?
Ah! Temporarily missing! that's why it was on the phone! *cuts himself off* oh god... heeheeHEE this is GOOD
well he's obv /accessory/ to murder espt so angry I can't tell if I'm remembering the ending or if I'm figuring it out but could it be the other musician? the one josie called old?
I love this man with the hat he seems cool Regina: Have you ever tried changing into skin-tight leather pants? It’s time consuming. ((true)) *Judging by their expressions, both CASTLE and BECKETT are intimately acquainted with skin-tight leather pants.* I like how beckett is wearing less makeup this episode than she does in s6 in my family watch Did she have a license to carry?
I love the OTS view going into the bar *lets him in while covering himself* SW: You keep showing up here like this, the boys are going to think you’re sweet on me. XD JE: Not anymore they won’t. he says while smiling.. *gulp* *puts down the gun* I can't remember what I thought the first time watching this. Is he disarming himself so they can have an honourable fistfight? Does he want to prove he's armed? are they going to count down & reach for it? & then I see the second gun. I thought maybe duel then. Also nice gun, rly small. When he says the gun is "yours" I am more sure it is a duel. (btw I think that one on the close side is the personal gun, not the police gun, & the one on the far side is the one he pulled from his boot a couple episodes ago. Like. ten.) His face when he says this. He says it in past tense as if he is in an interview, as if he's quoting himself from the future. That fear on his face. "I HAD to defend myself!" as he shakes his head with wide eyes... So he threatens to kill the guy & cover it up bc he is a detective & he can legit say "I arrested his crime boy so he wanted to kill me" & have it be true except esposito that is your gun... Unless he specifically acquired an unlicensed gun so that he could pretend it was shane's unlicensed gun (but also esposito my man how will you KNOW he recruits another kid? I might like a sequel except I don't want esposito to kill someone even if I agree with his values) Again with esposito using dominance in this play. Slid the gun over to him. I mean, Winters can afford a bodyguard, he may be a crime pimp, but he directs kids & adolescents, not people he considers his equal. No wonder he is so easy to threaten like this.
HPD criminal history information MISDEMEANOR arrest/charge information arrest date: XXXXXX ((so august or is that a random number of Xs?)) XX, 20XX 07:27 PM ((so he must have been under 18 in the year 2000, 17 in y2k at the oldest)) - Name: ESPOSITO/JAVIER ((I can't see if there is a middle name)) - Date of Birth: XXXXX X, 19XX ((april or march 1-9)) - Sex: Male - Race: XXXXXX ((Latino)) - Age at the time of the crime/arrest: XX ((10-17 but often they try 17yos as adults)) - Address: 941 E. 11TH ST/NEW YORK, NY 1009 - Fax Number: 5521250 - Place of Arrest: HPDPD, 021 - ((cropped)) Crime: November 6, 1989 ((unless this is the date of the crime so he would be under 18 in '89 at the oldest, so born in what 1972 at the oldest? & 1990 at the youngest if his age was in the double digits by y2k))
the good old days XD XD
Cycle 1 Arrest date XXXX XX 20XX 07:27 PM ((this one has 4 Xs so june & july except I think this implies that the Xs are not relative to the letters in the blackout, at least that is implied since these are both at 7.27pm, they are both the arrest date)) Court Information Court: Criminal Court New York Case Number: 322((cut off)) Initial Report Of Docket Number: XXXX XX, 20XX
November 19, 1989 ((nearly two weeks after the other date)) ASSAULT PL 160.10 Sub 01 // Class C Juvenile // HCIC 1299 RESISTING ARREST PL 160.05 // Class D Juvenile // HCIC 1299 ((transf?))erred To Superior Court November 19, 1989 UNLAWFUL POSSESSION ((of what?)) PL 160.10 Sub 01 // Class C Juvenile // HCIC 1299 ASSAULT PL 160.05 // Class D Juvenile // HCIC 1299
I love how as Joey reads them out loud esposito cringes. We see him cringe just a bit (wrinkle his nose & squint) at resisting arrest but [cringe like: that inhaling hiss between your teeth out of the side of your mouth] at unlawful possession & he shakes his head
Joey straight up: You were a mess ((coming from u tho? ur priors are a mile long according to the show so u can't say much))
JE: Yeah. But it’s all I knew. My dad was gone, my mom was working two jobs. In my neighborhood, you had to do what you had to do to survive. Not everybody made it. ((Yeah man... this story hits & my life wasn't even that bad)) JM: Is this where you tell me to man up and get my act together like you did? ((no pls no)) JE: No. It doesn’t work like that. ((Yes!! Thank you! Yes!)) JE: You need help. ((cringe but true)) For me it was one of my teachers. ((stereotype. But also,,, so true. My baking teacher, the staff in my special needs class, the FNMI guidance counselor, my culinary teachers)) Saw a future in me that I didn’t even see in myself. But it was up to me to make a choice. To pick which road to go down. I talked to your school counselor – ((first of all ew school counselors I know I lucked out but I don't trust em, second consent much? talk to joey first, except he'd say no so idk bro)) JM: What? ((See?)) JE: She’s going to call me if you keep ditching. ((esposito dad moments, I wish we got to see him with Timmy or Tommy or whatever ike's kid's name was)) JM: C’mon, man. JE: And I’m going to call you once a week. Check in. ((Do you do that for Baby Thornton too? y'all should become friends lol, he's only a year or two younger than you. Baby thornton was what? 10? it has been 2 or 3 years since s2? joey is 14? Yeah 13 & 14 is the same age)) JM: *smiles, then nods* JM: All right. I’ll go. ((go where? to school?)) If you agree to get new furniture. ((making a deal, he really is an adolescent, not a child, & esposito treating him like an adolescent, someone worth talking to, is awesome & important, even if he also knows that adolescence is not complete adulthood & he called the counselor w/o talking to joey first)) JE: *scoffs* JM: You can’t get laid on the regular with that junk you have. ((this man made fun of ryan for alley shopping)) I’m just looking out for you. ((who is looking out for whom now?)) JM: *pats him hard on the shoulder* JE: *does the thing he always does when someone touches him: he looks at where they touched & then back up at them* JE, handing Joey his business card: Here. If you need anything, day or night, call me at that number. ((do you not have your phone on silent overnight...? Maybe "at THAT number" is his other cell phone, one that he doesn't turn off at night idk bro)) JM: Okay. (he unbuckles) You’re all right. For a cop. ((lmao what a mood) JE: I know. Now get out of my car. ((see? sometimes you need that roughness. Btw I think this was the first time I noticed the car in my family watch, but I had seen it before on my binge watch. I didn't know if it was esposito's personal car or what)) JM nods to JE, JE nods back, but also in a gesture like "get going now I already told u" & JM leaves. JE smiles & watches to make sure JM gets inside ok.
I like how they closed loose ends with the winters guy & joey.
Ok but I need an episode in the future that shows that these two have indeed kept in contact! Esposito has been half raising two kids now, Ike's kid & Joey, why can't we SEE THEM?
Also uh in my math earlier I said I'd watch 6 episodes per day, well the thing is I didn't watch 6 yesterday I only got five. The first one was the season premier & I watched it earlier.

KISS frontman Gene Simmons said in an interview published on Monday that “the real secret that’s not widely talked about” is the contribution of Jews to the success of “Black music” in the United States.
The Jewish rock ‘n’ roll legend, who was born Chaim Witz, made the remarks while talking to the bimonthly magazine American Songwriter. When asked about “the long history in America” of Black Americans and Jewish Americans working closely together, the 71-year-old, whose mother was a Holocaust survivor, recalled the time when “Black music was not allowed to be heard on white radio” and said “it was really the Jews — [Jerry] Leiber and [Mike] Stoller, who wrote, ‘You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog’ and ‘Give me fever in the morning,’ all that Black music.”
The two songs referenced by Simmons, “Hound Dog” and “Fever,” were originally recorded by the Black artists Big Mama Thornton and Little Willie John, before being popularized by white singers, Elvis Presley and Peggy Lee.
“The Coasters and Ben E. King and all that, written by two Jews,” he continued. “Two Jews who couldn’t stand Broadway and that kind of schmaltzy music that the other Jews were doing. They loved Black music and they were responsible for a lot of the Black music that came out there. Elvis, Big Momma Thornton and all that.”
“The truth is that if it wasn’t for [Jewish American record producer] Sam Phillips and a lot of the other guys, early rock ‘n’ roll, including Elvis, would have never happened. It was these Jews who owned the record companies that opened the doors to Black music. Sam Phillips recorded Bo Diddley and lots of other stuff while the rest of the record companies would never touch them.”
Simmons was born in Israel and immigrated to the United States at around the age of 9, not being able to speak any English. His first exposure to music was the African American singer and guitarist Chuck Berry; when Berry died in 2017, Simmons himself gave a eulogy.
“The original guys I heard that impacted my life basically was Black music,” he said, in the Monday interview. “And then after that, Jackie Wilson and, you know, all those guys. The white guys were okay and they appealed to the chicks and everything. But the real stuff was Black music. That made your bottom, your groin shake and move in ways that white music didn’t. Even [‘Let’s Twist Again’ singer] Chubby Checker.”
Simmons was the “Twist” champion at his school when he was younger, he told American Songwriter.

Ok so I know I have posted a s2 prediction a while ago but now that we know there is s2 I’m going to post and update prediction/wants
Let’s start with the kooks (since I’m clearly in love with Drew Starkey)
It’s also color coded bc I’m an organizational freak and I like things in a nice neat order. It will probably also have typos and some words left out but y’all will get the gist.
The Kooks
Rafe Cameron (people want redemption, but I honestly don’t think that would be good for him this season. Maybe later down the road)
Still under the pressure of Ward obviously
Still has a cocaine addiction
Trys to be as cool as possible when it comes to the shooting Perterkin
More back story on his life
Obviously Rose is a step mom so maybe his real mom leaving play a part in why Rafe does what Rafe does
What motivates Rafe other than pleasing his father and drugs
Topper Thornton
I think Topper slowly get redemption
I mean he saved John B in the bell tower that has to be a start right
I think he still simps over Sarah
I also think he trys to tell Kelce the truth about Rafe
Slowly starts a friendship with the Pouges
I think Topper and Rafe will still be friends but Top will be more reserved around him now
Kelce (idk his last name in the show)
MORE OF HIM
More
More
More
That’s all
No but seriously I want more of Kelce trying to figure out if he can trust Topper or Rafe
I also want to see Kelce and Pope form a friendship
Yeah just give me more Deion he’s a great actor who needs more credit
Ward Cameron
Eww
Go to hell
We don’t like you
But in actuality I think Ward gets what he deserves hopefully
Hopefully he gets charged with murder of Big John and of Scooter
We tend to forget about that Ward sent Scooter into the storm that killed him
And he should be charged with the murder of the mainlanders bc that was obviously Ward
Yeah jail time for boss man would be great
But he’s the biggest, richest kook on the island so I low key feel like he gets away with it
Rose Cameron
Honestly she is annoying to me
But I think she gets better
Obviously she is going to back her rich husband’s story about what happened
She still hates Rafe
Kinda trys to help find Sarah or something
Still doesn’t really care about Wheezie
That’s about it
Wheezie Cameron
Questions her whole life
Doesn’t know if she should believe Rafe and her father or Sarah
Gets super emotional when she finds out about Sarah being lost at sea
Low key over hears Ward and Rafe going over their story and tells all of the outer banks
Or maybe she hears them but doesn’t believe it idk Jonas work your magic
The Pouges
John B
Struggles to get the gold
Has to go on another treasure hunt
Bc lets face it Ward hid that shit
Deals with his emotions on his father being gone
Deals with how Sarah really feels
Finally calls the rest of the Pouges
His uncle comes back from Mississippi and find out he’s lost at sea and “murdered Peterkin”
I think I would also like to see his mom come back not sure through
Once he gets the gold back he would obviously have to figure out a way to get it back to the OBX.
When he gets back to the OBX he’s obviously going to split with the others but I also think he is going to work on being a better friend
And yeah that’s all I have for now
JJ Maybank
Let me start this by saying he should have been on the boat not Sarah, but that another story
I don’t want to think about this but he has to tell is dad what happened with the Phantom
His dad probably most likely will beat his ass
I think that he will permanently live at the Chataue or with Pope
Maybe forms a bond with Topper and low key work together to figure out what really happened on the runway
I also kind of think JJ gets the HMS and trys to find Sarah and John B that’s just the type of friend he is
I also think he finally speaks up about his abusive father to his the others and has a worse break down than the hot tub scene
I feel like there will be A LOT of crying bc of his story in s2
Pope Heyward
Pope and Kie are like “dating” the 1st couple of episodes but then I feel like by episode 3 they call things off bc it’s too weird
I think Pope gets a redemption interview
Might not get the full scholarship but gets a good amount of it
I think he forms a bond with Kelce and they low key work together to find out the truth
Then JJ and Topper find out and all 4 of them work together idk friends yay who knows maybe not and we still get the adrenaline rush from all the fights
I think Pope kind of drifts from the Pouges in the beginning to work on college stuff but then by the middle is like screw this is my friend still alive or nah
Kiara Carrera
Ditches Pope real quick
Pulls the “no Pouge on Pouge” rule
I WANT A FULL EPISODE DEDICATED TO HER KOOK YEAR
I think she had a thing with Rafe during that year and maybe that’s the real reason her and Sarah weren’t friends for a while
I low key want her to give her share of the gold to JJ or Pope since she was born a kook and knows they need it more than her
Sarah Cameron (she gets both colors bc of obvious reasons)
I think she somehow knew everything that happened was going to happen. Like idk how to explain.
Like I feel Sarah knew Ward was going to buy the Crain the house and take the gold from John B and the Pouges, but idk why I feel that way
I think while I’m the Bahamas she comes to realize that her father is a bad man and in no way can she trust him at all
Obviously she has her own things to deal with and I think she does work through some struggles
I also think once her and John B have the gold back in the outer banks she drops that boy like a hot pocket
I know Chase said he thinks John B and Sarah are end game but I don’t think so sorry bud you and Madelyn yeah I can see end game but not John B and Sarah
And I think that’s bc she lets someone get close gets what she wants and drops them
Hopefully she won’t do him dirty
But all in all I kinda liked Sarah but I have a feeling my view of her is gonna change in s2
The story enhancers
Peterkin
MOMMA IS ALIVE AND WELL
I think homegirl is in the hospital in recovery
I think she had to have emergency surgery to remove the bullet and patch her up and all that
She arrests Ward for what she was originally doing
Arrests Rafe for attempted murder and drugs
Finds out that John B is in the Bahamas and contacts him to let him him know he’s been cleared (since she low key watched out for him) and she knows everything that happens in the OBX
Also she reminds me of one of the principals I work for at one of the local high schools in my city
Shoupe
I think he starts to look into the Ward theory of things under the radar
Obviously the whole island still thinks John B did everything
But I think Shoupe slowly starts to put the pieces together and find out that Ward really killed Big John and Rafe really short Peterkin
I think he also finds out that Peterkin is alive but doesn’t tell anyone
Like I think he starts secret files at his house or something and has a whole different investigation going on outside of the police station
Bc you know “murder was the case that they gave me”
Barry
He is probably one of my favorite characters
Thank you Nick for being awesome at what you do, I know I’m supposed to hate you but it’s hard to do that
I think he keeps the secret about Rafe and Peterkin to himself for a little bit
But 25k is a lot of money that JJ took and he wants that back
He’s definitely going to still sell drugs
He definitely still going to call Rafe “country club”
I think for a while he holds the Peterkin thing over Rafes head
All in all I hope Barry doesn’t change other than like minor things that happen with people
Luke Maybank
For one Gary Weeks stand up job my friend
We were supposed to hate your character and we do we all do so fantastic job for doing your job
Also please don’t beat up JJ for taking the Phantom I know you probably will but please take this I to consideration
I have a feeling we will be seeing more of you in s2
Bc you need drugs and you like to abuse your son
I don’t think Luke gets any kind of redemption like at all
I do think he trys to act like he cares when JJ goes off the grid for a while ( he’s either at the chataue or popes or kies)
Then ends up beating his ass
But I think JJ beats his ass in return and stand up to Luke
So that’s all I have for y’all umm I’m open to discussion if you want or if you have questions. Umm yeah so have a lovely night (it’s 12:19 where I am) or afternoon or day ❤️

It’s Only The Nervous Nights That Keep Me Bottled Up Inside [CHAPTER IV]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Logan could still clearly picture his very first day there in his new school.
He was a bundle of nervous energy, sitting at the very back of the classroom all alone and unknowingly chewing on his bottom lip, trying his very best to ignore both the rowdy sensory overload of the small room. The excruciating anxiety was searing holes in his heavy insides and it was all he could do to keep himself still and as invisible as he can be, not wanting to cause a one-man earthquake from trembling so madly.
He made it. Sort of. He still had the rest of the day ahead of him, eight more hours of trying to survive before he could be safely back in doctor dad’s Black Ice-freshened Honda Civic so they could pop quiz each other on the parts of the heart as they drove back home, where momma was patiently waiting with big smiles and warm hugs and his favourite pecan pie. But the minutes were only stretching out longer and longer with each hitched breath, it seemed.
It had taken Logan’s mom over ten minutes to soothe him enough to convince him to get out of the car, another five for him to convince his momma to not enter the school with him (lest St. Louis Elementary had the same sacred commandments upheld by devilish imps as Thornton’s), and twenty-five and a half minutes of phantom pants-peeing and dry-heaving in one of the bathroom stalls that the new student immediately raced to and barricaded himself in, before he realised he might run late for his first class—and if he didn’t show for first period, he might never make it out of that place alive. And only half a minute for the faulty tap faucet he was rinsing his face in to shoot up and make its mark on his brand new polo shirt.
Great. Even the school washbasin was already out for his blood.

aunyarykiel replied to your photo “Jill Scott as Big Momma Thorton in Hounddog (2007)”
Wait they made a movie about big mama Thornton and I missed it
It isn’t about Big Momma Thorton. If you go into Hounddog thinking that you will be disappointed. It is about a young white girl who is obsessed with Elvis. During the movie she is introduced to Big Momma Thorton. Thorton is not a main or even a side character. She is on screen for a scene or two.
Edit To Add: This movie comes with a big trigger warning for sexual assault!!
Thanks @ foxmonkey for the reminder!

Which Work Am I A Bigger Fan Of?  I Cannot Choose!
I have two works that I really like, and they are Transformers and Sonic The Hedgehog.  Both enhanced my creativity, and I grew up with Transformers (the live-action films, anyway; but I got into G1 when I got into the 1980′s); they have extraterrestrials that are allies or enemies with humans (and they have anti-heroes as well (I’m looking at you, Armada Starscream and Shadow The Hedgehog)); and they have English and Japanese versions of their own media (the original Unicron Trilogy and Sonic X are all anime series in which the Japanese versions with English subtitles are better than the English dubs).  I have been fans of both works for a couple years (I saw Transformers first, and then Sonic The Hedgehog).
However, I am debating whether I like one more than the other; I believe I am, but I am going to differentiate between these two works to see for myself.  Here it goes; I am going to start with Transformers, first.
The first Transformers work I saw was the first live-action film directed by Michael Bay.  It looked very realistic, and the graphics were nice.  I saw two more live-action films, and they were okay, but the third film went downhill, especially since they killed off some of my favorite characters from there (especially Ironhide; I really liked that black truck, and Sentinel killed him).  I don’t remember when I saw the 1986 film, but it is one of these factors that got me into the 1980′s (among The Transformers, in which that animated film was based on).  I started to prefer G1 over Bayformers since their styles looked fantastic, and it is also how I got a little into Mecha anime (Golion/Dairugger/Voltron got me even more into Japanese anime).
I then looked to see if there are any other Mecha shows I would watch, and I remembered fans talking about Transformers Armada, and I searched via Anime News Network; when I saw that Ironhide was in there, as well as Starscream, I got the urge to watch it.  I saw all 52 episodes of the show (called Micron Legend) with English subtitles, and I was hooked into it.  Micron Legend became even more of my favorite Transformers work than even G1 because of many G1 callbacks, certain soundtracks that sounded 1980′s, and many complex characters from both sides.  I then saw another show, in which it is called Energon (actually, it was Superlink), and I got as much hooked as I did with the other show, despite some flaws such as not giving certain characters enough screen time.  I was upset when the characters from Micron Legend got killed off (especially Ironhide/Demolishor), but was amazed at some new characters, especially those that were based off of their G1 counterparts, such as Inferno, Lazerwave (homage to G1 Shockwave), Wheeljack, Springer, and Omega Supreme.  I saw Galaxy Force (original version of Cybertron) once, and lost interest, despite some interesting characters such as Soundwave and Chromia (Thunderblast).  Similarly, Headmasters made me lose interest, since some of the characters were really bland, and they were lacking some character development in some of the Transformers (and even humans).
Since the first Bayformers film was the one I liked a lot, I didn’t want to watch anymore live-action films until 2018, in which the Bumblebee film debuted.  I was skeptical at first, until I got the chance to saw it; it was fantastic; the film was set in 1987, and it had many themes and styles of the 1980′s, and it stayed true to the G1 continuity (besides Micron Legend, Superlink, and Galaxy Force).  And the villains were phenomenal, especially Shatter (ROTF Alice didn’t give me enough excitement for a believably evil Decepticon who is female (or at least feminine), she was too bland, in my opinion).  And don’t forget the music, especially when Stan Bush’s song appeared in one scene where Bumblebee was encouraging his human friend, Charlie Watson, to dive off a cliff (which is safe, and has water).
Now let’s go with Sonic The Hedgehog.  I have noticed some people playing the games, and I never got the hold of it until I noticed that there was an anime show based on the games (especially the Adventure series), and I decided to give it a watch.  The anime was Sonic X, and it was in Japanese with English subtitles.  I was blown away because of Sonic’s tendency to break the fourth wall and throw in English here and there, the graphics which looked similar to Micron Legend in many angles, one original character with his many racing supercars (Sam Speed), contains Mecha (usually by Dr. Eggman), the soundtrack, and, of course, Shadow The Hedgehog (the first time I understood that character was in this show).  Also, the anime had many callbacks from the previous games (1991-2003; 2003 was when Sonic X was first broadcasted); and the Metarex saga gave me a feel from the part where Unicron debuted in Micron Legend.
One of my cousins have many different Sonic games, since he is a huge fan of them.  He had spin-off games as well; one of them was Shadow’s own game.  The first time I took interest was when I heard some fans talk about him using guns; at first, I thought it was a joke, until I saw for myself.  Many die-hard Sonic fans don’t like the 2005 game, but I certainly liked it, especially after I saw Sonic X; it was dark and edgy, yes, but it also gave the main character more depth and characterization, he can use firearms if he chooses to, and drives vehicles such as motorcycles and cars; I even have the option to play it in English or Japanese (of course with English subtitles for both).
I also did some reviews for three Sonic TV shows during the 1990′s.  Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog came to mind, especially this one episode, Zoobotnik, in which it featured a villainess, Katella The Huntress, who is the most underrated Sonic character of all time.  I found her costume appealing (including the circlet she wears on her forehead), and I found it amusing to see her with Dr. Robotnik/Eggman (I believe this is the only time I will ship Eggman with anyone else; besides Sera/Sara from the OVA, of course).  The English shows were not as appealing, but at least I got some insight after watching a few episodes.
I think I like both works because they are related in many ways, even though the Transformers originated in the 1980′s, and Sonic The Hedgehog originated in the 1990′s, among many other differences.  I really like extraterrestrial characters, but I also like Mecha robots (especially sentient robots).  Maybe I like Transformers even more than Sonic The Hedgehog.
Another thing these two have in common is their voice actors, who appeared in both works; seiyuu are more prominent.  Here is a list of English voice actors first, and then I will go with the Japanese voices:

- Charlie Adler (Silverbolt in The Transformers (1984-1987), and Starscream in the live-action films (2007-2011); Snively in Sonic SatAM)

Like I said, Sonic and Transformers have a lot in common, but they are unique in their own ways.  Maybe I like Transformers the most because it was from the 1980′s (which, by the way, is my favorite decade).  I wasn’t too much of a 1990′s fan, but I did like Sonic, which originated in the 1990′s.  So, I suppose Transformers is the winner, and Sonic The Hedgehog is in second place.
Well, that is all I will be saying for now.  I will be posting more soon, but I have other things to do, as well.  Stay tuned for more posts.

JAZZ / 2018-2019
CAMILLE THURMAN: THE ORIGIN OF THE BLUES
STUDENT GUIDE
PERFORMANCE / DEMONSTRATION
School show: February 1
So, What’s Going On?
She’s got the blues…
For Camille Thurman, the blues aren’t just singing about your problems—although they can be. For Thurman, the blues are a conversation, an exploration…the language of jazz music.
The blues is the oldest American art form, originally created by enslaved Africans in the Deep South. The blues was sung in the cotton fields and in chain gangs as a way of passing time when experiencing hard physical labor. Its originators used the blues as a way of communicating, sharing stories, and expressing emotions including joy, pain, sorrow, loss, hope, and a longing for freedom. After slavery was abolished, many ex-slaves migrated to the north to escape segregation, racism, and to access better jobs, housing, and opportunities.
New technological innovations, such as the steamboat and train, allowed for masses of people to travel from southern rural areas to the big northern and western cities. As African Americans migrated north, the music evolved, too. These transplanted blues transformed into urban music—with the introduction of drums and electric guitar—resulting in the morphing of the blues into different regional styles, including Mississippi Delta Blues, Chicago Blues, Memphis Blues, Kansas City Blues, St. Louis Blues, Texas Blues, and Piedmont Blues.
Blues was often built off “riffs," also sometimes referred to as “call and response,” and commonly included the voice, hands, feet, guitar, harmonica, and piano (bass and drums were later incorporated). Artists such as Bessie Smith, Joe Williams, W.C. Handy, Louis Armstrong, Big Momma Thornton, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Count Basie, and Charlie Parker all became known as innovators of the blues and were key to establishing the various types of blues for different regions.

Who’s Who
Tumblr media
In the jazz world, Camille Thurman is a triple threat—a soulful singer who has mastered flute and tenor saxophone, and written award-winning compositions. Though her voice is compared to that of jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald, she is equally respected for her technical mastery of jazz saxophone.
A recreational singer since she was small, Thurman was inspired by the music of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Chaka Khan as a child. Though she began playing flute at age 12, she didn’t truly consider herself a musician until a family member gifted her a saxophone at age 15. She would sing and “scat”—improvised singing where the voice imitates an instrument with nonsense syllables—her sax solos to learn them, quickly being recognized for her talent and going on to study music with some of the foremost jazz teachers in the country.
Thurman’s four octave vocal range, a phenomenon among singers, captures audiences. Only a few singers boast such a broad range, the circle including pop singers like Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera. Meanwhile, her lush, velvety tones on the tenor sax have earned the respect of jazz musicians and audiences alike. Equal parts instrumentalist and singer, Thurman hopes her music helps expand people’s ideas about jazz musicians, especially female instrumentalists. She has performed with musicians from Wynton Marsalis to Alicia Keys to Erykah Badu, and has received countless awards, including the Lincoln Center Award for Outstanding Young Artists.
For this Kennedy Center program, Camille Thurman will perform with The Darrell Green Trio, which includes Green on drums, Devin Starks on bass, and Keith Brown on piano.

Listen for how Thurman switches between her voice and the sax. What techniques are similar between the two (hint: think improvisation)?
The blues most often take on what is called a 12-bar pattern, referring to the number of “bars” or measures in each phrase of a song. Each 12-bar phrase follows an AAB pattern, with each section containing 4 of the 12 beats, like this: A 1-2-3-4 (Problem - Well I woke up this morning, feeling oh so sad) A 5-6-7-8 (Problem - Well I woke up this morning, feeling oh so sad) B 9-10-11-12 (Statement - But once I started singin’ now I’m feeling really glad) Listen for 12-bar patterns throughout the music, as well as the call and response-style lyrics that are a hallmark of blues.

Like all blues artists, Thurman brings her own experiences and emotions to her rendition of the blues. Does listening to her sing and play the blues help you feel connected to her?
The Language of Jazz and Blues
Here are some key jazz terms to know and to listen for during the performance:
Articulation: Performance techniques used by musicians that determine the style or sound of the music by specifying how individual notes are to be played within a section or entire piece of music.
Blues: An African American musical art form involving expression and storytelling through “call and response.” The blues is a feeling or way of expressing one’s emotions through sound. The blues is about overcoming adversity—facing a problem in life and overcoming it with a solution.
Call and Response: A musical approach in which a melodic or rhythmic phrase is exchanged between two parts; also called “question/statement” or “answer/solution.”
Harmony: Two or more notes played together that create a compatible or pleasant sound.
Improvisation: Creating music or song spontaneously or embellishing a pre-existing melody; a technique that requires great musical skill and creativity.
Jazz Standards: Popular musical compositions, mostly created between the 1920s and 1960s for Broadway musicals and films. They’re called “standards” because they’re so widely known and performed, they’ve become a permanent part of the jazz music repertoire, also known as the “Great American Songbook.”
Melody: The tune of a piece of music created by a series of notes; most often recognizable as the main tune you hum or sing along with in a musical work.
Rhythm: A strong, repeated pattern of sound.
Riff: A short, repeated musical phrase.
Soloing: When a musician improvises by elaborating on the music’s melody and harmony in their own personal style.
The Great Migration: The movement of six million African Americans from the rural south to urban northeast, mid-west, and west between 1915 and 1960. The majority of African Americans migrated to cities such as Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, New York, Kansas City, and Detroit.

Think About This…
The blues evolved from spirituals, work songs, chants, and other musical forms that represent the experiences of slaves, ex-slaves, and descendants of slaves. Considering this, how do the blues tell the story of America?
Along similar lines, the blues uses music and lyrics to tell the story of the composer’s deepest sorrows and highest joys. How does the music you listen to or play today represent your life? If it doesn’t, where might you look to find music that does?
Watch the late B.B. King discuss why anyone can sing the blues:

Technology and innovation (like the steamboat and train) changed and evolved the blues, spreading it throughout big cities in America. Consider how technology and innovation have affected modern music in just the last few decades. (Hints: How music can be recorded on your iPhone. Or how music can be delivered via iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, etc.)
Just for fun! Follow the instructions on the graphic below to reveal your “blues” name. Compare names with a classmate, friend, or family member.

Take Action: Singin’ the Blues
Camille Thurman takes elements from her life and carefully incorporates them into jazz/blues to create unique compositions. Here’s a challenge: Think of a personal situation that you’re comfortable writing about and create a blues lyric about it. Here’s the format:
Problem/Statement Problem/Statement Solution
You can use this simple example for inspiration:
My dog ate my ice-cream, feeling really sad today My dog ate my ice-cream, feeling really sad today But my mom brought me another cone, and I’m feeling happy again
You might even try adding a simply melody to your text to make it a complete blues composition. Share your words or even consider taking a video of yourself performing the blues and share it with friends and family.
And here’s some help--a backing track they could sing over:
