Percy and Nico are so funny. Nico trusts Percy, going so far as to reassure his sister Hazel about it, yet doesn't think Percy trusts him in return. On the other hand, Percy trusts Nico enough to leave convincing Hades to him, but he also believes that Nico has lost faith in him since the time he let his other sister, Bianca, die.

There is so much trust and yet no trust at all. Absolutely spectacular.

We talk a lot about how Lila was able to figure out Ladybug’s identity, steal the Miraculous and make her Wish within a few hours (!!!), but not enough about how Chronobug was able to beat her at her own game after the terrible awful no good day she just had.

This is Marinette at her WORST. She was literally dealing with the world ending for a second time that day, but this time for GOOD, and she still went out and did her job and absolutely KILLED IT.

Because the girls are both so smart, they highlight each other’s intelligence, and it’s great 💛

I get the criticism of the Hunters of Artemis from a narrative perspective—it sucks that it essentially boots interesting female characters out of the story—but it always baffles me when people viciously hate Artemis for *checks notes* doing damage control.

Like. Thalia explicitly goes with Artemis to avoid the prophecy, and I definitely think that’s the reason Artemis tried so hard to get her to join—hell, you can view the hunters trying to recruit Annabeth as a way to get Thalia to join. And Bianca? You can’t convince me that Artemis didn’t guess there was something up there and react accordingly.

If Percy or Nico were even a little bit girl-adjacent you bet your ass she would be all over them to join. No one actually wants to risk the Great Prophecy happening, and Artemis is doing a hell of a lot more to stop it than anyone else.

We need to discuss all the implications of being a pregnant mortal in the Riordanverse when the baby you're carryingn is a greecoroman demigod

Because you can't look me dead in the eyes and tell me that that thing would be a normal pregnancy down any standards

I mean, there's a good chance that this it's only Rick forgetting about the math once again, but Sally's pregnancy should haven been either 3 months or between 11-14 months, and i feel like baby Percy would have wanted to stay there the longest possible because idk, just being comfy in his momma belly full of liquid

And i don't even want to think about being esperanza Valdez with a fetus capable of fuckin combust at any moment, beryl grace getting electroshocks everytime that Thalia kicked or anything that could happen with Maria di Angelo and her Two kids of the lord of the death

And Also exist the possibility that the mortal body isn't taking well having a interspecies fetus that maybe has a chance to act like ambrosia or nectar making that you feel like if you were burning from your insides because way too much Divinity too handle

And no, i'm not done yet, there's more.

A Demigod can be born troug a C-section without the Doctors seeing something that a mortal definitely shouldn't? Who knows how a Demigod looks when they still in the uterus, there's even a chance of them having a minor scale "real" form as their parents, a now the doctor is fuckin blind

And how many times some of the mortal parents being really freaked out about this and knowing that they can't keep the baby have tried to get an abortion, in the best case it would work and now everything is ok... But you can even abort a Demigod?? At least through mortal methods, because i feel like there's a pretty big chance that this doesn't work

There's also a chance of this doesn't looking like a pregnancy at all, being honest this born from my headcanon of the Apollo kids gestations being unnoticeable ( since that apollos reaction towards sally pregnancy was really weird) and that i already mentioned in a previous post, but what if there's also the chance of you being completely oblivious towards this and then BOOM !! Baby

And then we have that the possibilities are low but never zero for a "pregnancy" like the ones of Castor and Pollux and Helen and Clytemnestra happening nowadays ( If your don't know of what I'm talking about, I just have one thing to say: Eggs)

And ofc... That we shouldn't look away for the possibilities of Mpreg with mortals being the ones carrying the baby, the limit with weird things here is inexistent to this point ( I'm not talking about Darren Knowles here btw, unless that you pull out the trans!Darren headcanon it's obvious that the one that give birth to kayla was Apollo, not for being a god, but because this man is such a bottom)

As a summary: Don't get pregnant from a god. I think there's a chance of it being terrifying.

One thing I find very interesting about the special is that Chronobug defeated Lila by making her doubt herself. By forging her handwriting and making her think there was something wrong with her plan. And we know how Lila reacted — taking it out on Nooroo until she got a chance to cool down, then immediately waking them up and transforming once more. It seems she does not have nearly as much self-esteem as she pretends to have, and very quickly felt the need to regain confidence by committing even more evil butterfly crimes.

Honestly I’m on the edge of my seat. We’ve known Lila for a long time, but we don’t actually know her at all, and it feels like meeting an entirely new character! 🦋

interesting ramble from the @riordanverse-ship-polls submissions - so somebody submitted Drew x Bianca, which I already knew was a ship. I've seen it around a couple of times. However. 1.) They labeled it as a crackship which i found interesting, and 2.) WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE SHIP NAME IS "CADREW?"

Like, I get how the names are being combo'd there (bianca + drew) but. There seriously weren't any better options? Not even "Drewangelo" or something? There's gotta be a better option than cadrew. That does not identify it as being Drew x Bianca in the slightest. That looks like Castor x Drew (which, tangent, fascinating theoretical. i want to know what somebody would even do with that one) at best. Maybe even a ship name that isn't just a name combo? There's gotta be something. Anything. Nothing with Bianca + Tanaka? Di Angelo + Tanaka? Please I'm weirdly invested in the quality of this ship name now.

Also re: the crackship thing, this is not a crackship! This is a rarepair. It is actually even entirely plausible that Bianca and Drew did meet in TTC. Given Drew's age in HoO/being a counselor and being a year-rounder she most likely would have been one of the daughters of Aphrodite present alongside Silena. This means she would have participating in the Capture The Flag game against the Hunters, which included Bianca. In fact, it is entirely more likely that Drew met Bianca in TTC than Will having met Nico in TTC! Fun facts

I'm gonna be projecting a lot with this one but-

I wished Rick would've explored family dynamics/relationships more.

Specifically, about the dead.

There is a few times were Rick brushes on family that isn't just character's parents that are dead/ never really able to meet a character.

One in relation to characters we've met- Hazel and Bianca.

I seen some mention I believe idea of "mourning someone you never met" with Hazel. But I think it isn't just cause she struggles with feeling she's just a replacement to her.

I think would've been interesting see her grappling with the fact that she has a sister she'll never meet.

Bianca isn't just Nico's sister, though of course their connection is stronger blood wise, but she's also Hazel's.

A sister she never met. Who she knows died why she's in the underworld. I think would've been interesting to see her have moments where she wished she got to know her. Where she craves that bond.

And think could be even more interesting to pair that with the Sammy and Leo situation.

Leo likely grew up hearing a lot about his family, including Sammy. Maybe even his mother mentioning that he's sometimes like him.

I think would've been interesting if that was one the stories he clung to on the run. His aunt wanted nothing to do with him, his mom was gone, and high likely lot of his other family members were gone too before then.

Maybe he clung to those stories in a sense to feel he's still connected to his family?

Than he meets Hazel, who unlike Leo had much more time with Sammy. Who looks at him and see Sammy first.

I think that could've made interesting interactions. Either he even more so hangs out with her to hear about Sammy. Or maybe he has a tiny sense of resentment. That someone he hardly knows got to know Sammy more than just through stories.

Again, mourning someone you never met.

I think it actually was a missed opportunity. Hazel lives in the shadow of Bianca's death, why Leo lives in the shadow of Sammy's. Both grappling with that. That been part of how their friendship is intertwined. It isn't just one sided "you look like a guy I was close with/ might've dated" but also "You got to know someone in my family I grew up wishing for a connection to."

In a similar vain,I wish we got more of Percy thinking about his mortal family.

We learn about his grandparents and great uncle in the first book. That Sally's parents died in a plane crash. Yet despite that it doesn't really go much further other than Estelle being named after Sally's mom.

Percy's fear of flying, which we somewhat see in tlt, is mainly based on Zeus.

But think that at least his grandparents being in his thoughts as well would've made sense.

I think it would've been a cool comparison to have his feelings on his grandparents and great uncle, who he heard plenty about but never met, be clashed with his thoughts on his immortal family.

Jim and Estelle were kind and helpful couple,Sally was young when they died but likely still had some fond memories. And what she didn't know her uncle might've told her.

Percy already struggles between his mortal and immortal sides in his life. Usually represented with Rachel.

But imagine part of that being his crave to have known his mortal grandparents and great-uncle. To recognize that part of him.

He's Sally Jackson's son, Jim and Estelle Jackson's grandson. That's still apart of him.

Actually, given how the show seems to be focusing on family in terms of the gods, I think that would be interesting to explore that concept there.

We didn't get the mention of his grandparents in the first season (that I can remember at least). But there's room to explore it later on. I mean, Sally very much is not game for Percy calling Kronos grandpa. And if that is explored more than just a joke it be sweet to see a scene of her talking about her parents to him.

Heck, maybe a scene were Kronos/someone else brings up Kronos as Percy's grandfather and we get a call back to the "I'm Sally Jackson's son" with him going "I'm Jim and Estelle Jackson's grandson!" Instead.

Just- ugh 😭 weak for family dynamics like that. I think it's just something you don't see very much, but at least with me I have these kinda feeling of wanting a connection with lot of family I never got to meet. Especially when you're told you look like said person.

You hear stories and just...get this longing? I don't how to explain it hdgd

But yeah. Family dynamics my beloved.

I kind of wish that in PJO, Rick hadn't wrote Artemis in accepting and hunting with young girls. Because, with his logic in her words, they aren't making a choice at 9 or 10 in regards to their feelings. They just haven't gotten the chance to even get there. Super weird and messed up.

Combine that with Bianca's story, really makes me want to rewrite it.

Rewrite it to where Artemis doesn't take young girls on hunts (she is the PROTECTOR of young girls). Most are in their teens, older and wanting this life with Artemis. And Bianca sees these older girls doing their own things and being so much more mature than her, that she begs Artemis to take her in. Telling her that she wants her freedom and choices and not to be saddle with her brother.

Have Artemis tell her she is young. The Hunt is dangerous. Her brother does need her as they are family. (Goddess of childbirth, she cares about her family and families too!) To wait on making a rash decision like this.

But Bianca still argues. Bringing up points about having to care for her brother since they only have each other now. No other family. Always her! Shouldn't she get to stand out too? Shouldn't she get to make her own choices about her life?

That strikes a small cord with Artemis as well. Is the Moon really eclipsed by the Sun for most? Didn't she decide her path on her father's lap as a child?

So, Artemis makes the choice. Maybe it still leads to Bianca dying. But I want there to be a more nuance choice for Bianca wanting freedom and the gods giving it. I want there to be remorse in the actions of the gods.
