bands i like that I think BH6 characters would listen to

Hiro: Fall Out Boy, obviously, but honestly I think you can also hear him blasting Marina while working late in the lab when he thinks nobody’s around. Also I think he’s a nightcore girlie but THAT is for his headphones only because he is not revealing he likes nightcore.

Honey Lemon: Another Marina fangirl, for sure. Also Girl In Red, Selena, Shakira, and I could also see her getting into Vocaloid stuff.

Gogo: MOTHER MOTHER. Literally she would love Mother Mother. Also Derivakat

Wasabi: Honestly I think he listens to more instrumental stuff, no lyrics, just instruments and vibes.

Fred: insert basic white boy singer here tbh. I don’t listen to people he would listen to. But he would also like The Stupendium so he has one good taste in music.

Obake: hah, bet you thought I’d actually talk about adult Obake? Nope, teen Obake again. Anyhow, he’d love Starset, iDKHOW, Set It Off, TX2, and MCR. TELL ME that you cannot hear him belting out the lyrics to Icarus, c’mon, you can hear it too (this is me converting you all to become Starset fans tbh). Also I still think Obake would still like all these bands as an adult, he just wouldn’t be as much of a crazy fan. Also I think he appreciates just pure silence as an adult, or the gentle humming of machinery. After all, dealing with Noodle Burger Boy, Trina, and Globby does wear the man out after a while. He still knows all the words to Icarus.

Trina: She inherited Obake’s music taste so she’s a Starset fan too. She likes all their love songs. She’d love their songs Otherworldy, Satellite, and Earthrise. But I think she’s also a Marina fan, and perhaps she’d also like a little Dua Lipa or Ava Max. She loves the entire Barbie soundtrack. Also Lemon Demon.

Character Rambles #1 Hiro Hamada

First of all, I want to apologize for taking so long to get to this. I just had no idea which character to ramble about first. Thought I could start with the protagonist of one of Disney's most underrated franchises and one of my favorites since I was small, seeing as its ten year anniversary recently passed.

One thing I always thought was interesting about Hiro is how the movie and the spin off series titled "Big Hero 6: The Series" paralleled him to the villians. The biggest example is probably Professor Callaghan. Hiro and Callaghan are both grieving a family memeber and seek to avenge their respective loved ones' deaths by taking revenge on the person they deem responsible for their deaths. We see the same thing occur in the TV series with Hiro and Trina.

The difference lies in the way they go about seeking revenge. Initially, Hiro actually tries to kill Callaghan, just as Callaghan wanted to do to Krei and Trina seemingly wanted to do to Big Hero 6 as a whole. The difference is that Hiro doesn't succeed and stops himself from going through with the violence he once saw as the solution, whereas Callaghan and Trina do not.

Another similarity that Hiro has to Trina is wanting to continue the legacy of their deceased loved ones. Trina wants to continue her father, Obake's plans in order to carry on his legacy. Hiro does this same. Obake wanted to build a better city and essentially control the new city, so Trina continues that, albeit in her own way. Hiro's brother, Tadashi, wanted to help people, and Hiro makes it his mission to help others with his creation of Big Hero 6.

Hiro is also paralleled to Bob Aken, better known as Obake. Hiro's parallels to Obake are different to his parallels to Trina and Callaghan, in the fact that Hiro, like Obake, thinks or at least thought at one point that if you can, you should. Recklessness at it's finest. Seeing only the benefit and not the danger or losses that would be caused, at least not right off the bat, anyway. The difference between HIro and Bob is how the respond when realizing the harm they may cause. While Bob is okay with continuing his plans despite the losses in the name of, progress and infamy, whereas Hiro regrets his actions and seeks to rectify them.

The last and slightly smaller parallel is Hiro and Diane "Di" Amara. Diane wants to do everything in her power to save the life of her clone and creator, Liv. Hiro had similar motives with Tadashi. He was willing to do almost anything to avenge his death.

Hiro's also a bot fighter, which is illegal in the city he lives in, San Fransokyo, or at least, betting on bot fighting is. I see this as another example of Hiro's recklessness. He seems to at least somewhat outgrow this behavior throughout the movie and the couse of the spin off series, but it's still his starting point. I think the reason for Hiro's recklessness is because he simply didn't know what he was living for. He didn't really care what happened to him. At the time, Hiro, being a genius, felt that he had already learned everything, hell he graduated high school at thirteen, and although he seems to brag about that, I feel that it may be a source of sadness for him. I also get the feeling that he was bored with life in general and just didn't have a sense of purpose, which made him miserable. I feel bot fighting was the only thing he found enjoyable or exciting at the time, possibly because of the thrill of it all. When Tadashi takes Hiro to the college he attends, the San Fransokyo Insititute of Technology (SFIT), Hiro realizes that he may not actually know everything and there's something out there that he can put his mind to. He has a future. Although I don't think this instantly made the pain he felt go away, it gave him something to work toward. It helped him start trying to find a purpose and that was likely very helpful for him.

When Tadashi dies, Hiro spirals again and he spirals more than he ever had before. Tadashi was his inspiration and losing his brother felt like he'd lost a lifeline, one of the only ones he had aside from his Aunt Cass, seeing as his parents died when he was only three years old. Despite this, Hiro finds his purpose in helping others just as his brother helped him. It takes a long time for him to figure this out but he has a support network in his Aunt and the rest of his family and they help him through the grieving process, all while grieving themselves. (yes, I consider Go Go, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred and Baymax as a found family, I mean they literally all call Cass "Aunt Cass"). They helped each other and were there for one another, and that's what makes family, in the end.

Okay, this post turned out much longer than I thought it would, but hey, this post is supposed to be just me rambling about some of my favorite characters, so maybe I succeeded. If you got this far, thanks for reading this goliath, I hope you enjoyed it, even just a little.

Trina, waiting at the front desk as her father is sitting down on the couch and being stubborn, as then a receptionist came in with a big grin, greeted Trina, gave her the keys for their suite, and left once again.

Trina: Huh, eh, it's probably nothing. *turns to look at Obake* Father, I got the keys to our room.

Obake, unenthusiastically: Yayyy.

Trina: Come on, Father, at least put up a facade that you are enjoying this vacation.

Obake: This isn't a vacation. This is a hostage situation.

Trina: *huffs* Well, you can stay in the room all you want,*Trina tossed the keys to her dad.* I'm going to have some fun and make some enemies. >:]

Obake, uninterested: Have fun.

Obake, now alone, got out a remote and released a drone to carry their luggage. He walked towards the elevator when he noticed someone familiar in the bar. Isn't that his old robotics teacher who hated him? Obake walks a bit closer and takes a good look at the man, and Obake is surprised to see his old Professor, Callahan, drinking his sorrows away. Now, isn't that a funny sight for Obake to see. No, Obake can't be laughing from afar. He knows better than that. He should be laughing at him nearby and make him feel small and inferior to him, so Obake gave the drone the keys and let it take the stuff to their room and walked nonchalantly towards the bar, having a sly, gloating smile across his face.

Obake: So, how does it feel to be at the bottom, old man.

Okay SO- nobody asked but the reason I headcanon Obake having a Punk/Emo phase is simple-

You guys remember Trina, right? Since she’s essentially Obake’s daughter, she resembles him in certain ways (intentional or not on Obake’s part.)

Throughout the show, we have seen two specific looks that clearly mirror the two confirmed images of Obake

Does anyone else like Trina from BH6 The series? Or at least the concept of her? I mean there was potential for her to be a darker foil to Hiro and if they were going to go the villain route with her they could've made her the Black Cat to Hiro's Spider-Man.

She could've been a vigilante, a chaotic neutral or anti hero who would occasionally come to the team's aid.

Cutscenes #39: Progeny

Trina is activated for the first time.

“Time to get up and properly see yourself…Trina,” Obake told her with a sly, satisfied smile as he backed away from the table she resided on.

That name. Yes. Of course. I should do as Father says. “Yes Father,” the android spoke, surprised at hearing her own voice and how it felt to say her first words. She proceeded to obey as she bent her torso, allowing her to see the shiny, cold, metal slab she rested on along with her completed body and a couple scattered tools around her.

Trina saw her two legs were in a pair of grey jeans that ended with a pair of black and white sneakers. She looked further down her chest to find a pink baggy shirt, which she now understood was the soft feeling that was different from how her skin felt. The young robot looked forward now to see she was in a mostly dark room with a couple glowing blue tanks, some robotic arms situated to the floor and a large box with a clear dome that she registered as a 3D printer. She placed her arms on her lap as she finally turned her head to the right, where a pale, well-dressed man stood smiling approvingly at her.

“Good. The obedience setting seems to be functioning properly, but then again, why wouldn’t it since I made it?” Obake arrogantly remarked. He then shifted to a gentler, but still superior tone as he said, “You truly are an amazing feat of ingenuity Trina. Come and let’s see if everything is working.”
