Review and Recap : “Internabout” (Spoilers Ahead)

Hello and welcome to Season 2 of Big Hero 6: The Series. New season means new format, where now my Reviews and Recaps will actually recap the entire episode and review it. Spoilers ahead!

RECAP

We open the episode to Fred talking about how the defeat of Obake ends “Phase 1″ of their superhero adventure, very Marvel-esque of you Fred, and that today is the beginning of Phase 2.

Meanwhile, something walks out of the Bay, this something being a kelp-covered Noodle Burger Boy and a suspicious crate.

We get to the opening sequence, now with some changes, including: Mini-max jumping onto Baymax’s head instead of eggs being splattered onto his face, Mini-max dancing with Fred, Baymax, and the Wacky Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tubeman, during Fred’s portion of the Superhero sequence in the intro, Mini-Max flies in, during Hiro’s sequence it includes new villains such as a 1-eyed Globby (Nega-Globby), an ugly Trina, some guy with a mask, and Liv Amara, Baymax’s sequence includes him in Overdrive Mode against Orso Knox, and ending the sequence off with all of them in new superhero suits that look like the Titanium Suits from “Big Problem”.

After the opening we are introduced to the corporate building of Sycorax, where Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Gogo, Hiro, and Professor Granville are. It is revealed that Karmi is now interning at Sycorax. Hiro is still jealous of Karmi and as the others start questioning this, Liv Amara comes walking in. We are introduced to Liv’s (hot) new assistant, Chris. Liv gives the team a tour of the Sycorax building, which includes bio-metric scanner grounds, Buddy-Bot like robots, and their state-of-the-art GenTech lab, which belongs to Karmi (temporarily), who’s real lab is being built to her specs.

Scene change to a warehouse, where Noodle Burger Boy has brought the crate, which has Trina in it, who is still a severed head and a body. Noodle then goes “home” and abandons Trina in the warehouse.

Scene change, the gang are back from Sycorax. Hiro is still jealous of Karmi. Hiro decides to get an internship at the company of Krei Tech. Krei hires Hiro as an intern (Probably just to compete with Liv Amara. Definitely).

Scene change, We are now at Noodle Burger during closing hours. The manager is probably still sad about NBB’s disappearance. When she turns off the lights, NBB comes walking in, slightly glitchy. He is still looking to go “home”, and since the manager can’t help him he proceeds to go on a rampage and break everything in the shop. Meanwhile, Trina is building what might be a robot, she also calls NBB “Little Brother”.

Big Hero 6 gets the news of NBB going coocoo in a restaurant and decide to go on day patrol. Hiro backs out as his internship starts today, but first he gloats about it to Karmi. Krei has Hiro pick up his drycleaning (don’t ask about the cow costume). He ends up bumping into Karmi which ends with Karmi pretty much laughing at him since this intership is basically Hiro being Krei’s slave.

Fred and Honey Lemon go on patrol to find NBB and find a trail of pickle juice that leads to an alley. NBB is walking into a wall while still glitching and once he notices Honey and Fred, he starts shooting pickles at them. NBB runs out the alley causing collateral damage with Fred and Honey on his tail. NBB ends up escaping on a trolley.

Hiro is already getting fed up of Krei using his as an errand boy.

Gogo and Wasabi confront NBB, who is still trying to go “home”. NBB goes crazy again and starts shooting lasers, Wasabi ends up blocking some with his plasma blade redirecting the laser back to NBB and cutting on off NBB’s legs off. NBB manages to escape Gogo and Wasabi and they find out “home” is Krei Tech.

At Krei Tech, Hiro is holding a mirror while Krei is trying to get an opinion on which smile is better (they are 99.999% similar). Hiro voices his wanting to end being Krei’s errandboy, Krei doesn’t care. NBB lasers the door to Krei’s office open. NBB is malfunctioning and needs to be fixed, so he has come to Krei Tech to be fixed. NBB kidnaps Hiro, Baymax, and Krei and brings them to the Noodle Burger Factory and uses Krei as a bargaining chip, saying that unless Hiro fixes him, Alistar is going to get fried, to get Hiro to fix him.

The Big Hero 6 (well Big Hero 4) get to Krei Tech only to find out that NBB has taken Hiro, Baymax, and Krei. Trina then arrives in a suped-up robotic amalgamation and fights them, taking them all out.

Hiro is still trying to fix NBB and is running out of time as a tied-up Alistar is moving closer to the oil vat. Hiro manages to fix NBB and tries to get the Obake Chip out of him only for Trina to blast into the room to retrieve her brother, NBB. Hiro uses an ultra powerful magnet to incapacitate NBB and Trina, escapes the room he’s in, and saves Alistar before he gets incinerated. Trina and NBB end up escaping the magnet and leave the factory.

After last night’s skirmish, the Big Hero 6 are now eating at the Lucky Cat Cafe. Krei’s assistant, Judy, walks in and tells Hiro that Krei needs to talk to him. Krei now wants Hiro for his inventions and Hiro attempts to back out, but since Hiro signed a contract Krei owns him for the next year. But Hiro is getting his own lab.

This ends the episode off, and as the credits are rolling something appears different with them. Maybe it’s the Chibi characters popping up,hmm.

REVIEW

The episode itself was an interesting start to Season 2. I mainly don’t like how Hiro is still jealous of Karmi but essentially it’ll probably be a plot device for a while. I love how Trina considers NBB a brother, it’s kinda cute. Overall, 8/10. Two points were deducted due to the Hiro/Karmi thing. Tomorrow’s episode is “The Seventh Wheel”!

El duelo patológico en Big Hero 6

Lastimosamente la vida no es eterna, a veces la vida da un montón de vueltas donde conocemos a nuevas personas y perdemos a otras, pero el sentimiento de perder a alguien tan querido como lo es un familiar es el peor sentimiento existente en la Tierra. Es aquí que con la perdida de un ser querido que tuvo impacto significativo en nuestra vida afecta de una manera psicológica.

El duelo patológico es el conjunto de dificultades para aceptar la muerte de un ser querido o la sensación de no poder creer que este haya fallecido. ₁ Usualmente esto lleva a consecuencias negativas en la persona que la padece como tener sentimientos perjudiciales como la soledad, una profunda tristeza, ira, vergüenza e incluso culpa que pueden llegar a ser intensas con una duración de meses a años.

Estos sentimientos conformen empeoran comienzan a ser un obstáculo para la persona, debido a que se les hace imposible poder llevar su vida con normalidad como lo solían hacer antes del fallecimiento de su ser querido.

En este caso uno de los ejemplos más visibles en una película es Big Hero 6, una película en la que la historia gira en torno a Hiro y Tadashi, dos hermanos que residen en San Fransokyo, el mayor de los dos Tadashi está estudiando en una universidad prestigiosa donde se hacen creaciones de robots y tecnología, su hermano menor Hiro está interesado en los robots y es ahí donde conoce uno de los mejores inventos de su hermano: Baymax un robot enfermero que está programado para ayudar a las personas.

Tadashi le propone a Hiro que participe con Baymax para mostrar su creación y así pueda entrar en la misma universidad que él.

Hiro el día de la feria de ciencias termina ganando, donde un millonario Alistar Krei desea adquirir a Baymax, donde tanto Tadashi como Hiro se niegan. Después de aquel acontecimiento, mientras se intentaba festejar la feria un repentino incendio ocurre donde Tadashi intenta salvar a uno de sus profesores llamado Callaghan, sin embargo, Tadashi y Callaghan fallecen.

Con este evento la vida de Hiro cambia repentinamente, dejándolo con un vacío enorme que es la pérdida de su hermano de una manera tan terrible.

Hiro es uno de los personajes que representa perfectamente el duelo patológico ya que cumple con todas las características que una persona tiene al enfrentar esta patología. Como se mencionó anteriormente, las personas que están sufriendo de un duelo patológico tienen sentimientos negativos después del acontecimiento.

En el caso de Hiro con la pérdida de Tadashi comienza a presentar estos sentimientos negativos como la tristeza, soledad e incluso culpa, puesto que, sintió que no pudo hacer nada para evitar que aquel acontecimiento terrible no ocurriese comenzando a afectarle en su vida diaria, pues su estabilidad emocional se encuentra perjudicada.

Otra consecuencia que tuvo Hiro fue la más conocida en esta patología: recordar la manera en cómo murió el ser querido y en este caso él recuerda perfectamente la manera en que su hermano Tadashi falleció. Esto hace que no pueda dejar de pensar en aquello, afectándole de una manera negativa tanto física como psicológicamente.

Al final de todo llega una época más feliz para la vida de una persona que padezca de esta situación y es la recuperación. La persona por fin puede comenzar con sus actividades diarias y vivir su vida de una manera más tranquila, tratando de evitar que la situación que le afectó por un largo período vuelva a tener un impacto significativo.

En la situación de Hiro él pudo recuperarse gracias a Baymax, el robot que su hermano Tadashi creó, pues hay que recordar que el objetivo y función de Baymax era ser un enfermero que ayudase a las personas, con esto nos damos cuenta que el simpático robot siempre tuvo cuidado de Hiro.

Tomando en cuenta que al ser la creación de su hermano quizá Hiro pudo tener un lazo de conexión más rápido con Baymax, pues este le recordaría lo que su hermano hizo en vida y darle aunque sea un poco de felicidad que los momentos hermosos con su hermano han pasado, pero quedarán grabados en su mente incluso si él no se encuentra ahí.

Hiro llevó su recuperación a su ritmo, sin ninguna presión y tratando todo de la manera más tranquila, puesto que, se dio cuenta que no podía seguir así y encontrar además la persona responsable de aquel incendio provocado que causó la perdida de su hermano y sus creaciones, pues durante la película se nos muestra que aquel accidente fue intencionado de manera maliciosa.

Regresando al punto del duelo patológico en el caso de un niño como Hiro, otro aspecto también que es de suma importancia de cara al proceso del duelo, es que en el caso de los infantes es sumamente importante evitar decirles qué es lo que se debe de hacer o cómo se debe comportar al respecto. Según la psicología, también se deben evitar frases como "ahora tienes que mirar hacia delante", puesto que se considera necesario que el pequeño pueda gestionar de manera correcta la situación según le convenga y cómo se sienta cómodo al respecto.₂

Analizándolo desde el punto de Hiro él gestiona su proceso de duelo centrándose en solucionar la situación que llevó a la muerte de su hermano, pues conforme el desarrollo del filme se denota que quiere luchar contra aquella "amenaza" que ocasionó la perdida de Tadashi en su vida. Contando los factores de que sus amigos y su tía no forzaron que lo superase de un día al otro, dejaron que este mismo tomase un tiempo para reflexionar.

Para dar cierre, es importante tomar en cuenta que es aquí donde el duelo patológico es algo que no se debe de intentar acelerar, puesto que es un proceso de suma complejidad que las personas no pueden superar de un momento a otro. Hay que dar la libertad a los individuos de encontrar la forma en la que podrán aliviarse, yendo a su ritmo, habituándose y haciendo frente a esta misma situación.

Cada persona es diferente y necesita su tiempo para aceptar la pérdida y adaptarse a la nueva situación.

Como recomendación de esta semana es el mismo filme que se dio a analizar en el duelo patológico "Big Hero 6"₃, donde como se narró con anterioridad la historia. Hiro es un niño que junto a Baymax una creación de su hermano Tadashi, intentarán salvar la ciudad que se ve amenazada junto a sus amigos. Es una película muy emocional al principio al ver todo lo que tuvo que pasar Hiro, pero conforme se desarrolla se convierte en una película totalmente agradable de ver. Realmente otra creación increíble de Disney.

Krei just tells her “okay just say whatever you want as long as it gets people to want to buy this product!” And I bet you it’s exactly the same thing Maya Rudolph said in the commercial. 

Then the big day comes where it airs on TV and Hiro is so disturbed. He can’t go anywhere because he’s afraid people will point him out. Meanwhile, people recognize Cass from the commercial while she works in the cafe. She feels like a local celebrity.
