goldie and bowl receive exposition they already know
(objectober 2024 day 27: recovery)
#dandy's doodles#the human-object singularity#thos#battle for the foreseeable future#bftff#bftff goldie#bftff bowl#bftff menorah#bftff loaf#<- i guess? she's dead#i guess if you want the exposition you can click and zoom in :) it's just how recovery centers work#of course it relies on altruism to function properly but at this point that's the general attitude anyway#and having to look for a specific object is a fun way to spend one's time. a scavenger hunt of sorts#it isn't designed to be gamified but that happens naturally#objectober#objectober 2024

for a non-topical post... i got another object show idea. yes, aside from bftff (which i still want to work on, of course, cuz i love it to bits)... but an entirely silly, lighthearted one this time! no complex lore and philosophy!
i was thinking all the contestants are stuffed animals... like, the jellycat amusable stuffed animals... and they come to life in an imagination world based on the bed they're in, in which the show would be set (as you can see, for the sake of my suspension of disbelief, it has to be specifically imaginary). the host would either be the kid who owns the stuffed animals, or maybe that kid's teddy bear or something. the point is that the show would be wild and fun and unserious, like animatic battle, bean's show, or early bfb, just with a specific stuffed animal theming!
#melonposting#i'd have to pick which amusables i'd want to cast in my show... and i'd have to think of a name for the show and challenges...#but in any event it would be much easier to plan a show like this than bftff#i can't really write anything for bftff until i decide the character trajectory for each and every character! which i'll work on gradually#this other show is a fun low-stakes idea to think about in the meantime

it makes me so happy when my ii3 analysis gets positive reception!
if i'm being completely honest, the only reason why i went through with breaking ii3 down at all was so i could justify its writing decisions to myself, decisions i'd previously thought were stupid -- i'd internalized what the show had been trying to say previously, treating the writing in ii2 with massive weight and regard, and because of that i couldn't automatically accept that i'd been wrong about ii3 and subsequently switch to liking it (because my disdain for it had been out of a misguided belief that its writing undermined ii2's). i had to explain to myself why it worked within the show, why the character writing was clever and profound, why i should now come to enjoy it; i couldn't accept it without understanding it thoroughly. likewise, these were analyses i had to post publicly, so my peers could recognize that too: that my newfound love of ii3 is one in conversation with my long-standing love of ii2, borne from a critical lens that doesn't take this show's excellence for granted. if i couldn't accept the fact that i warmed up to ii3 without a detailed explanation, i wouldn't assume you'd accept the same of me.
aside from that, though, i love analyzing object shows; i care about them a lot, and so i seek to understand how they function. i'm glad to know others can see how much i care through my analysis :)
#melonposting#i love you object shows <3 i love you osc <3 i love you i love you i love you <3#unsurprisingly i will be writing bftff with the same mindset: that this should all make sense and treat itself as such#there is always some underlying logic to the functioning of the show!!#<- this is a mindset which i admit is occasionally misguided (and which is always a product of my autism haha)

*note how the title should be something the hosts would reasonably come up with in-universe! in case you don't know, the tl;dr of the lore is that humans all turned into objects after a strange event and are now effectively immortal, breaking down a lot of society and returning people to play. the hosts, goldie and bowl, have decided to hold a fun competition show in an nyc park for folks to compete in; the prize is silly and insignificant (like bragging rights or a knickknack), so it's all just a fun way for people to spend their infinite time.
(i personally have a preference for "the world's first object show", especially since the acronym sounds like "two of us" when read aloud!! "battle for the foreseeable future" is also a fun name)
#melonposting#osc#object show#the human-object singularity#thos#whee! i can't wait to hear what you think :D

bftff is gonna be crazy... once i figure out how to organize my plans...
should i just do a clipboard again, like i did for grt3d?? i'm trying to plot out the challenges and arcs and stuff, and that worked then - but i want everything to be easily accessible from anywhere, and easily editable, so having it on paper might not be the best call... but the system i have right now (a google drawing) is really annoying to mess with. aaaugh
#melonposting#especially cuz i want to color code everything. which could in theory be helpful but at the moment is more of a hassle than anything
