Beyond the isle of the lost spoilers!
Something cool I noticed in the new descendants book is that both in Red's part of the book and in the special chapter with Chloe, they both foreshadow each other and their friendship.
...Look
There is red, saying that she couldn't have friends because she can't have weakness, she can let people get hurt just because her mother wanted to get her, maybe revealing why she wasn't so open to Chloe in the maybe first half of the movie?
Now let's take a look at Chloe's
I mean like COME ON YOU CANNOT TELL ME THIS ISN'T ABOUT HER FUTURE FRIENDSHIP WITH RED! THE FORESHADOWING!!! ( and the fact that Ben/mal, Doug/evie are saying these things to her looking at eachother... SUSPICIOUS) also- the one you least expect? maybe the girl that threatened feeding you to a jabberwocky HMMMM
I may be reading a lot into these parts of the book but is a nice thing to point
(btw that " I'm a loner , I don't want have friends, I'm not your friend" can also be a plotline to red being more closed on the relationship, softening with time... I can already sense the "she fell first but she fell harder" oh lord I'm going to stop now.)
Also the whole "she's not like her mother/your mom beheaded mine but I don't blame you, so don't blame yourself for her actions" is >>>>

Given we know the Descendants films love to ignore the books, the fact that the film is likely gonna somehow end on Red and everyone else being fine with Queen of Hearts is just... A, gonna make it another D3 in the fact that the parental abuse is literally shown and described and yet, the victim is forced to forgive the abuser at the end anyway because didn't you know they good somehow- And B, fucking insane when you consider that Chester and Ace ended Beyond the Isle of the Lost transformed into shit by the Queen of Hearts and probably will be forever stuck in those forms due to them not being cast in film and again films loving to ignore the books, and therefore, they likely gonna see everyone, including Red, act like the Queen of Hearts is good like:

SPOILERS FOR BEYOND THE ISLE OF THE LOST: WONDERLAND!!!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
The Queen of Hearts is a cruel evil bitch!!! Like, how could she do that to Ace and Chester!!?? Do you not realize how you just scarred your daughter for life and how you have possibly doomed those two boys and the emotional turmoil you have now put their families through??? Like I will never watch Alice in Wonderland the same way again after reading this book. “At least I didn’t take the their heads off” BITCH STFU. Whatever Cinderella, the young villains, or whoever did to you had better been pretty fucking back cause WTF!!?? This is some shit I would expect from the OUAT Queen of Hearts cause that sounds like some shit Cora would do. But good god woman. Wonderland truly is a fucked up place if you’re the one running it. Know I know that 9/10 the “prequel” books don’t really ever play a role in the films but I’m praying on bended knee that we get some closure for the characters of Ace and Chester, or at least another book because that will forever haunt me I’m not even joking.

Okay, so I read Beyond the Isle of the Lost (so some spoilers ahead) and the bonus chapter and... It wasn't bad... While there were some parts I didn't like, I DID find myself liking Red. BUT I feel like the timeline should be different? It would almost make more sense if this takes place SIXTEEN YEARS in the future vs... whatever the timeline is.
Hear me out. Bring in the RED Queen and the White Queen instead of Queen of Hearts (because as Alice's villain is the Queen of Hearts she SHOULD be on the Isle). Give them conflict with each other and Auradon, and make it so BEN had to seal off Wonderland for the safety of Auradon. This could all have taken place after the Royal Wedding. (Red could even be the Queen of Hearts GRANDDAUGHTER and her mother or grandmother tried to take back Wonderland in a war or something)
This would explain why certain characters are in Wonderland, the comment of no more VK's, why Wonderlandians seem to know so little of Auradon, and they could have even stretched it a little more to make Chloe Chad's daughter or something.
AND by changing the timeline, it takes away questions of the original cast. A few good lines about them living life, or their kids, and its clear just how much time has passed. It may not be the best solution, but it would still make sense since the movie would take place at Auradon Prep, and in the past.

Santi never thought he would settle down. He definitely dated, but no one seemed right, no one made him want to stay and look for no one else, no one made him feel special, important.
Until you came along.
It was unexpected, a random encounter out in the world rather than at a bar or on one of those dating apps. You’d both reached for the same random flavor of chip on the shelf, Santi nearly choking on air as he took you in, his stomach leaping into his throat. He made small talk, flirted a bit, and oh my God when you laughed, the entire world laughed with you. He asked you out and you seemed shocked, like no one had ever asked you out before.
That was a year and a half ago.
Inseparable, you and Santi had moved in together after a year, a big step that Santi had never thought to take with anyone else. But now that you’re here? Everyday? He was so happy he thought his heart would burst from his chest. Getting to wake up next to you every day was his own personal heaven on earth, listening to the little sleepy sounds he’d pull from you when he ducked his head under the covers and shifted between your thighs. He didn’t see how he could get any happier.
Well…there was one way.
It was grocery day and Santi and you were at the store, picking up the things on your list and also checking out some new items. He seemed a little extra handsy today, always wanting to be touching you, his eyes nearly never leaving you. You turn the corner and head down the next isle, pausing to reach up for the same flavor of chips that you’d reached for when you met Santi.
“We gotta have thes-”
Words die on your lips when you turn around, seeing Santi on one knee, gently taking your hand, his eyes never leaving yours.
“Querida, before I met you, I was lost. I wasn’t the worst guy ever but I also wasn’t great. I’ve done some terrible things and I thought I was destined to just waste away, find no true love in this life. But then you came along and I was instantly drawn to you, falling in love the second you looked at me. I’m still shocked you agreed to go out with me,” He chuckles and you feel tears start to well up in your eyes.
“Every day with you has been the best day of my life. You made me a better person, a person worthy of your love, and for that, I am forever indebted to you. And I want to spend the rest of my life, and whatever lays beyond, trying to repay you. Querida, will you marry me?”
Santi holds out a small black box, opening it to reveal the most gorgeous ring you’d ever seen, exactly your style.
“Oh, Santi! YES! YES I would love to marry you!”
The widest smile stretches across Santi’s face as he slides the ring on your finger, standing up with a slight groan that was cut off by your lips on his, applause from the other customers fading in the background as you kissed him deeply, arms wrapping around his neck. He pulls back, putting his forehead to yours.
“I love you, querida.”
“I love you, Santi.”
Within a few months, you became Mrs. Garcia and never go a day without being loved.

hows about #2, a classic, for whoever strikes your fancy :)
2- captured/caged/locked
hello <3 would you like to hear about the corsair brothers?
3.2 & 3.3 umbar epic spoilers for whom it may concern
---
The thing is, he knows Abedec is dead. It just isn’t making him feel any better about this.
From the sound of them, the few Corsairs still here are the last of Abedec’s crew and the lost deckhands of the Scourge’s fleet. None of them good enough to pull the rest together and find a ship to get home and plenty still blindly loyal to the captains who died and left them here. What good have the Heirs of Castamir done any of them, hm?
For a moment, Jajax considers gathering them up himself. He’s a bit short on crew these days- but no, at least half of these ones still hate him enough for betraying the Heirs and the rest are still afraid enough of Abedec’s shade they would sooner knife him than sail with him. And, more importantly than that, they have his brother.
Seas, Dax, could you not get yourself in these situations for two months-
He tells himself that at least he knows Daxamat survived the wreck, and that even though this poor excuse for a crew has him they haven’t managed to do anything with him, which is more than can be said for the welcome they’d receive back home.
Kindred of the Coins. Pah. They’d want to kill him and Dax for sailing with the Heirs as much as these ones seem to want them dead for betraying the Heirs. Jajax at least was his own captain, but Dax… Dax had sailed on the Night-jewel herself.
Maybe Zîrar Tarka will have kinder ports, or at least ones that ask fewer questions. Yes, once he gets Dax out of here, they’ll find a ship, make for the Isles, and strike south from there. They should be able to stay well beyond the fledgling Kindred’s influence- and things will surely be interesting there after the war. Maybe they can do some good, honest pirating before the reach of Umbar catches up with them again- or Dax’s luck does.
Yes. It’s a plan. Now he simply has to get his brother out of the ruins.
These castaways and strays are far less fearsome than the crew that answered to Abedec was; they should be little trouble for him, even on his own. He’s fairly certain he’s figured out where they’re keeping Dax, too, and it will be even less trouble to get there and be out again. Still, there’s a strange reluctance that makes his feet drag as he circles the ruins the folk of Prince-lands now call Abedec’s Watch. It’s not fear- fear was for watching Abedec’s approach while he stood bound and helpless, or for the fury of the storm that sent them floating back to Gondor. He just doesn’t care for seeing his brother tied up like that, and so near the place Jajax nearly lost his head himself.
One more round and then he will make his move. The ruins are painted in red light and shrouded in dusk shadows, and he can already smell the cook-fires. They will be well and distracted soon, and then he will drag Dax out of there and they can leave Gondor behind- hopefully for good this time.
Dead leaves rustle under approaching feet. “Jajax?”
Ah, perfect. Maybe Gondor’s personal hero can be talked into doing the work instead. The hero types are terribly predictable that way. What convenient timing.
He always has been lucky like that.
#lotro#ask games#my stories#wait hang on before i ramble too much-#jajax#spoilers of umbar#jajax: oh thank god a convenient pc i can give this quest to#how long did u spend hanging around abedec's watch before we showed up man. long enough for scouts to get word to imrahil and to st#to still be there when we catch up#anyway i'm sure jajax has a normal one hearing that the wave-hunter went down in a storm

Hello Dove, I've been reading your shots for a while now and I must say your work is lovely, and everytime I read them it makes my day.
I hope is not a bother, but may I request a platonic scenario with Zoro and a youngling swordsman. Basically the strawhat crew stopped by in a island to refill their supplies, Zoro being Zoro started to explore alone and got lost (as usual) and he saw a fight between the youngling swordsman and other pirates, witnessing their fighting style with their katana that looks like Shinobu Kocho from demon slayer, cause their katana is not for slay rather works like a syringe cause is always covered in poison. Zoro caught interest in the youngling somehow but failed in the attempt to reach them so the strawhats set sail. Without knowing the youngling was hiding in the ship cause their next destination is the same as the crew, cause the youngling was finding a person to get revenge on for whatever reason, in the end they ended up discovering the youngling and the rest I'll leave it up to you.
I personally love platonic scenarios and I don't see much of those, but of you accept them then it's ok. However if you don't make platonic scenarios, feel free to make changes if these request caught your intrest. Have a lovely night
Apprentice

Warning: mention of wounds, mention of drinking, mention of fighting, spoilers for Nani’s backstory, spoilers for Zoro's backstory
Summary: After finding a small boy on the way to the Isle of Tenohira, Zoro reluctantly comes to care for him, reminiscent of his past self in his stubborn and vicious sword wielding abilities.
Word Count: 4,000
The Going Mary docked at the small port, clear blue waters rocking gently as one-by-one the crew dismounted, leaving Usopp behind to care for his worn-out ship. It was agreed for only a short stay to collect necessities and supplies for the next stretch of vast blue, knowing anything longer than a few hours would detour their path for the Isle of Tenohira.
Zoro landed on the creaking wood, grunting as he peered over his shoulder at the sudden commotion caused by his captain. Rolling his eyes he watched as Luffy ran off laughing, Nami and Sanji following close behind, yelling at him for being careless and ignorant of his surroundings. Every trip curated the same response, predictable turnouts from his fellow crew-members as they scattered over the island, never sticking to the plan Nami instructed.
Looking around, Zoro noted his surroundings, figuring he would go in search of a bar to drink at for the duration of the time. The island, although small, made up for the distance with height, weaving hills dotted with pink shrubs falling beyond his sight. Figuring the sun was pointing east, he turned on his heels, heading west, walking towards thick shrubs away from the obvious clearing to the town.
He took his time wandering, assuming the bar wouldn't be far from his position, taking in the unusual sights around him. It was a particularly sunny day, a warm breeze rustling through the vibrant shrubs with a whistle as if they were singing out to the swordsman. The grass, if you could even call it that, was short and tuft, weaving strands of iridescent gold, dotting through flowers curved in oblong shapes.
Zoro shook his head, dizzy from the unfamiliar surroundings, parted at sea for what felt like weeks.
A call up ahead prompted Zoro to face to his left, easily spotting the commotion right away. A band of mismatched pirates surrounded a little boy no more than ten, laughing down at him. The young boy wielded a sword, unusual in appearance, as most things were here, with scaling edges down the blade, dripping in an ominous thick brown liquid. It was clear the sword was too large for the boy to hold, using both hands on the handle to lift it off the ground. Shrugging at the boys obvious stubbornness to fight alone, Zoro continued on, assuming the situation was under control.
As Zoro sat in the bar, he couldn't help but feel panicked, unknown to how the fight turned out; feeling a slight guilt in the safety of the child. Looking at the boys stubbornness and dedication to take out a band of pirates reminded him of a younger version of himself, holding onto a weapon that would've taken all his strength just to hold. He held his breath, hoping that the pirates wouldn't enter the bar, cementing only what he feared.
The more Zoro drank the less he remembered about what he saw, fogged over by the alcohol in his body; the ringing of chatter around him soothing his mind. He swayed along to their conversations, dancing silently to his own rhythm by the vibrato in their voices, amusing himself as he flagged down the bartender for another beer.
The doors of the bar crashed open, Zoro sluggishly looking over as someone called out his name, groaning as Sanji made his way over to him. He swore under his breath, wishing someone else came to collect him, scowling at the two-bit chef. Sanji ignored Zoro's look of disgust, grabbing onto his arm as he trudged out of the bar, barking at him. The crew had agreed to be back at the ship hours ago, and as per usual, Zoro lost track of time, drinking away.
Too blinded by hate to zone into Sanji's words, Zoro stumbled alongside him, his eyes darting around. He refused to look in his direction, the drug of alcohol creating a haze over the surreal island, making it seem almost amusing to him. And although this island sparked a particular interest in him, he couldn't help but feel soothed by the promise of returning to his beloved ship.
He couldn't wait to return back to his usual napping post.
Zoro awoke to a heavy crash, his hand reaching for his sword in a bid to fight whoever disturbed his drunken rest. Jerking his eyes around the room he was met with silence, a figure crouching behind one of the barrels in the corner, knowing they were caught. He assumed it was Luffy or Chopper, coming to pry some of Sanji's hidden treats, quickly lacing some venom in his words.
"Oi, piss of will ya! Ya wanna get cut? I'm tryna to nap here!"
"I'm sorry mister..."
Quickly, Zoro sat up, his eyes wide at the unfamiliar voice realising it wasn't a crew member. Focusing on the barrel, he watched as the boy he encountered before stepped out, his sword slung to his back. His innocent and round face was littered with cuts and bruises, one of his dark brown eyes clouded with a purple ring. His light ash hair seemed almost wet, sticking to his forehead, dipped with darker ends from what he could assume was blood.
"The hell ya doing here?"
"I snuck onto the ship"
"Well, yeah" he rolled his eyes, taking a stand. Zoro moved his neck around, cracking in a rolling motion, walking over to the barrels. "Ya need to get outta here, idiot, it's not safe invading a pirate ship!"
"I wasn't trying to invade" he admitted sheepishly, "I just needed a lift to the Isle of Tenohira"
"How'd ya know we were going there?" Zoro drew out his sword, sceptical of the boys knowledge.
"I heard the stringy one talking about it; the one with the hat"
Luffy.
Realising his mistake, Zoro withdrew his sword, sighing heavily. He was still half asleep, his brain feeling like static as he thought for a moment, unsure of what to do with the boy. He could throw the boy overboard, letting the sea drift him someplace he wouldn't have to step foot in? But it would cause too much commotion.
Looking away he sighed again, not wishing to look down at his soft and wide eyes, knowing he might give in and help him.
Zoro just wanted to nap.
Scratching his head, Zoro felt lost, confused on what to do. He didn't wish to put further injury on the boy, given his current timid and broken state, but he also knew he couldn't stay here, his rest disturbed enough. Suddenly, he had an idea, smiling wickedly, knowing exactly who would put some sense into the boy. Zoro was familiar with them enough to understand how they operated, viciously attacking any of the boys on the crew whenever they pleased, hoping the same end would be met for the boy in front of him.
That was it.
Zoro was decided.
He would take the boy to see Nami.
"Oh my dear, look at you!" Nami bent down in front of the boy, cupping at his face "what happened?"
Zoro's face dropped, not expecting her to react so sensitive to his needs. When he had brought the boy to the crew he received a hearty thud over his head, Nami immediately snapping at him for bringing a child onto the ship. However, as she faced the boy she shifted, turning almost into somebody he didn't recognise at all.
"Did that brute do this to you?" Nami's tone was snappy as she whipped her head around to Zoro, glaring at him. "If I find out you laid a hand on this poor child I-"
"No" the boy shook his head "I was ambushed by some pirates back at the island"
Nami turned back to him, whimpering her bottom lip as she pulled him into a sweet hug, her breasts engulfing the boys face, almost suffocating him. She cooed aimlessly at him, inaudible to Zoro as he stood there burning up, realising he should have been tougher on the boy and kicked him off as soon as he saw him.
"You really thought she would be mad at him, didn't you?" Sanji snickered, lighting up a cigarette. "You clearly don't know my sweet Nami-swan at all"
"Oi, shut up, ero-cook! Nobody asked you to speak"
Sanji quickly snapped into action, lifting his leg up to strike at Zoro, to which he swiftly dodged. Pulling out his swords, Zoro resumed a typical stance, mumbling profanities as Sanji attempted to land a few hits at any open area he could find.
"Will you both just be quiet!" Nami ordered, flailing her hands into fists as she smacked them each over the head. Shoving herself between the boys she created space to separate, clearing the thick air that hung overhead.
Luffy laughed, amused by the astounding situation, the addition of a possible new crew member exciting him. "I think we should keep him"
"Huh?"
"Luffy! You can't be serious!" Nami's face dropped, realising the possibility of the situation. A familiar feeling of anxiety fell over her, reminded of her horrible tangled past with pirates as a young girl, never wishing upon that for anybody. "We can't possibly accept a child to join our crew, especially since what has just happened! We need to turn the ship around and get him home to his -"
"I overheard you were travelling to the Isle of Tenohira" the young boy piped up, averting the attention back to him. Everyone continued their silence, waiting for the boy to explain further, giving him a chance to speak his peace. "I will be happy to leave once we have arrived; I just need a ship to take me"
"That's at least a three-day trip" Usopp interjected, informing the boy of his situation.
"I am aware, just please let me stay until you dock there"
"What has you so interested in this island, anyway?"
"I need to get revenge on some pirates" the boy lowered his voice, a hideous growl muffling his words.
Luffy laughed, reminded just how stubborn and vengeful his own right-hand was, noting similarities between the two. "Well, we will be more than happy to have you join us. What is your name?"
—————————
After some time, Zoro returned to the crows nest, fuelled by his strict routine to get back into training. He was aware there was too much time lost, frustrated with the unwanted distraction of a child to focus on his goal. The weights he usually bared felt heavy, only frustrating him more, feeling much weaker than before. He knew nothing had chance but regretted falling out of his usual rhythm.
He lunged the weight back and forth, mimicking a swinging action similar to his sword, working his arms to swing all around him. As he spun around the room he stopped, stepping back in fright, tripping over his foot. The weight landed behind him in a crash, rocking the crows nest briefly, causing him to wobble off balance.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
The young boy stood in front of him, his cuts and scrapes patched up poorly by Nami's efforts to coddle the child. He had changed into new clothes, a large t-shirt bunched up and tied off at the waist, showering him in fabric.
He ignored his question. “Do you mind teaching me that?”
"What?" Zoro acted clueless, hoping the boy would give up and leave.
"Would you teach me how to train properly to be a swordsman?"
"No"
The boy huffed, confused that Zoro would be so quick to shut down his request, despite his blunt and dismissive attitude to his presence. Unamused by the boy's childish behaviour Zoro stood his ground, turning back to his weights with a heavy roll of his eyes.
A harsh quiet fell over the crows nest, almost irritable, growing an intense and thick atmosphere. The hairs on the back of Zoro's neck stood at attention, a shiver running down his spine, knowing something bad was about to happen.
"NAMI!" The boy's voice rung through the crows nest, shrill and cruel. He added a drawn out whine, letting his voice be heard through the ship, rearing his beloved new friend. The addition of overdramatic tears rolls down his cheeks, making his performance theatrical and threatening for Zoro. He had already underlined his name in Nami's bad book, knowing this would corrupt him into something horrible; owning her something to make up for the child's woe.
Zoro felt a rush of regret fall over him, spiteful a part of him felt so connected to the boy in front of him. Since seeing the boy on the island, he couldn't help but sense a part of the stubborn swordsman inside him that pushed him to where he was today. But as he looked down at the manipulative tactics of the child, he realised he was far from the same.
"Fine!" Zoro snapped, turning around to face him with a roll of his eyes. Pointing to the boy with the end of his sword, Zoro held himself firm and cold, not wishing to give into pity for the sake of the child. "But I will not go easy on you because you're a kid. Understand?"
The boy nodded, a delighted smile replacing the well of tears, wiping away the snot from his nose. "I understand"
As per Zoro's usual routine, he trained, holding the same measures as he would against any object to come in his path. The boy, all the while clasping his sword, struggled to keep up with Zoro's intense ability. He accommodated both hands to lift his chosen weapon, making the fight more strenuous on his body, his arms and back caving at the heavy weight. And Zoro could feel it too, every hit that collided with the sword appalled him, wondering how someone of his size wield such a beast.
The sword matched the length of his own, the spikes curling through each clatter as they collided. Zoro feared what liquid oozed from the weapon but knew he was far from finding out such atrocities. He was a small child after all; Zoro was the master here.
However, no matter how hard and fast Zoro swung, the boy kept up, ignoring every inch of his body to give up. His hands were covered with thick callouses, grasping the handle of his blade tightly not to drop or lose sight of Zoro. Cuts and bruises littered his skin, fair to the word of keeping up with Zoro as much as he could.
He was learning fast.
He would be something great one day Zoro was sure.
Around the crew the boy would keep the same chipper attitude, slowly mimicking how they moved. He carried the same light-hearted and hungry energy as Luffy, challenging him to the last bits of meat Sanji worked hard to prepare; winning with Nami on his side. His stamina and aim heighten, time spent with Usopp throwing off Zoro's expectations for how quickly he was learning skills. Accidents and wounds lessened, learning how to fix his own incidents, knowing any setback would cause his training to lessen.
He was improving in all aspects, quickly adjusting to the movements and flow of sparring against Zoro, reminding him of a version of himself long forgotten. Zoro could see that now, misjudging his manipulation, realising how smart and creative the boy was in his own right.
Zoro's past stood in front of him, so vivid it haunted him in the night, keeping him awake from drawing in his memories. He viewed himself, the child, in the same determined nature which craved more, burning their bodies to the ground in pain; and no amount of rest would be enough to sooth them. He could feel himself attach to the boy, instinctively protecting his own shadow, and as the Isle of Tenohira grew closer, Zoro started to grieve something he was fond of.
"Oi!" Luffy's voice boomed through the ship, the clatter of his sandals beating against the deck. It had turned three days since the boy joined the crew, a day Zoro had began to dread, knowing instantly what that meant for his and the boys future.
In the crows nest Zoro caught onto Luffy's voice, the boy catching the same, however, failed to part away from his training; lifting the weights above his head. Unwilling to make the first move Zoro ignored the call, turning back to his own corner, twisting his sword around in motions that caused his head to spin, unable to keep up.
"Was that Luffy?" the boy finally spoke, grunting through his repetitions.
Zoro grunted, unable to look over at him, half afraid he might actually break. He didn't wish to admit he had grown fond of the child, distancing as much emotion as he could muster, his direction becoming a loose brick in his emotional walls built around him for years. He was started to enjoy the presence of somebody else in his space, quietly and in tune to his own routine, sliding peacefully compared to the distant chatter of his fellow crewmates.
"Should we go down? He is the captain after all?"
"Do whatever you want" Zoro bit, unwilling to move from his spot.
Latching onto a spot on the wall Zoro focused, hearing the boy behind him put down the weight. He said something, to which Zoro grunted again, unsure what exactly was being said, before leaving the crows nest. Zoro's vision began to blur, his focus slipping, wishing to go with him, see him one last time with everyone; but he also didn't wish to part from him. He could hear below him the crew, their voices echoing off each other, laughing, enjoying the few moments left together before separating on the Isle.
He was hurt.
Everywhere hurt, unsure where to pinpoint what was happening to his body.
It was only a child after all.
But a part of Zoro felt helpless, pathetic, unable to even face his friends or the child to say goodbye. Why was he craving to the idea of something so mirrored by his own actions? It should fuel him to move; to work better. He had always desired more, nothing being enough for him no matter who or what stood in his way. All he wanted was to live his dream, to focus on what was at stake, and nobody, not even a version of himself would stop him of that dream. He made a promise to himself. He made a promise to...
Zoro steps away from his post, looking around in despair. How did he not realise it sooner. The boy, it wasn't him. It wasn't a part of his past haunting words and memories of his upbringing, triggering his fight response. He was someone else. Someone he didn't wish to lose again.
It was Kuina.
Zoro quickly scaled down from the crows nest, fumbling as he landed onto the deck. The ship was deserted, everyone disbanding off the Mary, his voice calling in a desperate plea for anyone to still be aboard the ship. He didn't care how loud or broken his voice had turned, desperation forcing him to try every avenue; even if it meant he would be teased.
"What are you on about, Marimo?" Sanji's voice snapped, his frame appearing in the door of the kitchen. A cigarette was alight in his hand, flickers of smoke guiding up towards his brow. Zoro spun towards his voice, too rushed with adrenaline to capture fully who was in front of him. He just needed answers.
"Where did they go?"
"Who?"
"Everyone. The boy. Where are they?"
Sanji smirked, dropping his cigarette, letting his foot squish the remaining bud with a slight sizzle. "So you do care about him?"
"I don't have time for your half-ass comments, twirly-brow. Where are they?"
Looking out towards the Isle, Sanji nodded towards a patch of houses, spreading out into a clearing of people. It was undeniable how his friends stood out, Luffy's buoyancy and features standing out in the clutter of grey. His friends were clearly taken to the midst of the town, carelessly wading through for food no doubt, occupied in their own endeavours to care about the absence of the boy; his figure missing from his friends.
Zoro ignored the cooks advice, shrugging him off as he hurdled over the side of the ship. He didn't have time to argue over his useless directions, deciding he was wasting more time standing around than actively looking for the boy. He could feel his mind racing, his body struggling to compete with the overflow of words that swum around in his head. His eyes were frantic, knowing he couldn't dare leave any patch of the Isle unattended.
It wasn't long since everyone had parted from the ship, however, it was unclear to Zoro just how far the boy had got before colliding with those pirates. He was so quiet of how and why he needed to fight them, but there was a strong determination bubbling like fire within him, knowing he needed this and would stop at nothing to achieve it.
Zoro had participated in his fair share of fights, memorising every step and manoeuvre since occupying the battle field. He could determine when and where a band of pirates would attack, catching them out in a feverish rage before they suspected a crucial attack. Everything in his body was telling him to ignore the cooks advice, and while he knew it wouldn't be hard to do so, it was if something was pulling him to the other side of the island.
A commotion of voices caught Zoro's attention, averting him to change course, sprinting up a hill, weaving through thick trees. In one hand he had already untied the bandana around his forearm, prepared to cause a devilish scene to the upcoming voices, growing louder and cruel. It was obvious a fight was brewing, a sea of cluttered metal and shouting bringing out the small call of a shrill voice; someone he recognised well.
As Zoro reached the hill he saw the boy surrounded by a band of pirates, more dehumanised and feral than when he first met him. It was clear now why he swore revenge, the burning look in the child's eye was unmistaken; they had taken someone from him. And just like the rage and desperation to reunite with his dear friend, Zoro concluded in an instant what he needed to do.
Sliding through the battle, Zoro's sword flipped and sliced through several bandits. His motions were smooth and quick, catching the pirates off guard in a bid to get to the boy. He knew it would be an incompetent action, throwing everyone, even the boy off from their main objective. However, Zoro was prepared to catch them in a moment of weakness, letting them know the boy wouldn't have to fight alone.
Reaching the boy, Zoro stood close, almost protecting him. He stood to his side, nudging gently, the boys expression on the verge of bewildered tears. A part of him swore he would never see Zoro again, his last few moments heartless and rude; but he was glad he was here alongside him.
"Well, cmon them" Zoro raised his swords, looking over at the boy. A smirk was plastered on his lips, curling his grin in a cocky arch, determined to boost his ego. He could tell he wished to say something, pleased to have company in the rut of a mismatched battle; in over his head.
But Zoro needed this to stay between them - both knowing each other as their own outlook and companion.
"They'll have to take us both on if they want to defeat you"

He doesn't understand the domesticity of the whole Tower and unknowingly sets off a whole truck of insecurities which make Tony crawl back into being a Stark instead of just Tony. The team is not at all happy and Rhodey joins them in trying to figure out a way to help their resident genius feel better in his skin.

The Fortunate Isles by Kiyaar
The difference between them, Tony thinks, is that Steve made plans. Tony had contingencies.
This is a contingency.
Every Now and Then I Fall Apart by Sineala
When Tony gets hit by a truth spell, the consequences aren't what anyone expected. They're sure not what Tony expected. He wishes he could stop telling his teammates about all the medical problems he tries to hide. As long as he doesn't open his mouth and reveal his secret feelings for Steve, or all his secret inadequacies as a human being, though, everything's going to be fine. And Tony's good at keeping secrets... or so he thinks. But maybe Steve knows him better than he knows himself. And just because Tony believes something, that doesn't make it the truth.
Questioning Reality by Captain_Panda
"Nothing's been the same since New York."
Nightmares. It's the nightmares that are eating away at Tony the most.
A post-Chitauri fic where Steve Rogers fills a much-needed void in Tony Stark's life, and both of them confront their own demons.
Follow You to the Stars (and Beyond) by navaan
In the aftermath of saving the world from Thanos, a new era is dawning for the team called Avengers. Steve has stepped down as Captain America, Tony has taken a space vacation - and he too is making plans for his retirement. What better time than now to take a road trip through space?
Meet Again by dirigibleplumbing
It's been 5 months since Steve and Tony last saw each other in Siberia, and Tony has just resurfaced after being missing for several weeks. Through a series of emails and text messages, they work to figure out what their friendship is going to look like in the future. But first, they have a lot of the past to contend with. And for some reason Tony keeps bringing up the topic of soulmates.
love me like a sinner by ArabellaAM
“So,” he says in the end, attracting Steve’s gaze towards him. “Is that everything you wanted?”
It’s only then —when he swears he can feel Steve’s breath tickling his cheek— that he realizes how close they actually are. So close the hunger in those blue eyes is undeniable, just as it’s undeniable Steve is no longer looking at him in the eye, but rather to his lips.
“Not really,” Steve says, voice raw and thick, as his eyes move quickly to Tony’s annular finger before returning to his lips.
Tony tilts his head and asks, in a tone that sounds more like a dare, “then what are you waiting for?”
Steve doesn’t actually answer; it’s Tony that makes an educated guess as he tries to grasp for air once Steve dips his head and drowns in his lips.
Or, Steve visits Tony after five years and it's not the salvation of the world he's after.
Armistice (The Nothing Else Matters Remix) by Sineala
It's 1944. Captain America lies dreaming, trapped in his own mind, and only Tony Stark can save him. But this is no mere Marvels adventure, as Tony finds when he enters Steve's dreams. Tony is confronted with dreams of superheroes, an imagined future fantastic and terrifying in equal parts, and a Steve Rogers who knows both too much and nothing at all about him. But they're just dreams. The war is what's real... isn't it?
My Heart's Quiet Home by alexcat, ralsbecket
When Pepper wants to end their marriage, Tony finds the other great love of his life.
We're On The Edge Right Now by MassiveSpaceWren, Nixie_DeAngel
“Steve Rogers, at your service, Mister Stark.”
Tony’s lips quirked up into a bright, almost teasing like grin, “I’m sure you are, Rogers, I’m sure you are.”
Steve could feel a blush work its way up his neck to his face, but before he could even open his mouth to retort, Pepper jumped in, easily redirecting the conversation before insisting on escorting Steve back down to drop him off at HR.

I found this on the Descendants subreddit:
What do you think?I dunno I feel about this.
For starting orders, are these from the Descendants guide book??? Because if so, I didn't know that was potentially out yet...unless these are preview pages??? If so, kinda weird Red or Chloe didn't get their pages previewed...unless they contain spoilers and can't be shown unlike Mal's and Uma's and the page on transformations... Not gonna lie though, these preview pages are kinda making me wanna buy it...soley to see how the fuck Descendants explains ANYTHING in its universe at this fucking point.
But to answer the question: let's get transformations page out of the way first, because uh, I find it the most meh lol- its just basic knowledge about transformations and Maleficent, Mal and Uma being the only characters so far to have that ability...though confusing how its surprising to Auradon, since they a fairy tale kingdom, transformations shouldn't be a surprise really... Though they really gave a list of shit Mal did with her dragon but then said 'oh and Uma can transform too I guess' like they really did not care to go into Uma much there, though curious why they saying its only via necklace she can do that as I assumed it was Ursula's magic/DNA in general that allowed Uma to go octopus form... Plus lemme just add: 'battled Uma' last I checked all Mal did was fly around and blow FIRE at WATER and that's it, Ben handled that shit more then Mal did really.
Now onto Mal's....first: United States of Auradon...okay nice to know I guess Beyond The Isle Of The Lost definitely ain't gonna be connected to the film at this rate because there they called it United Kingdom of Auradon, but now we back to the film title here, aka United States of Auradon. But heyyyy! We can celebrate that they actually resisted the urge to blame Ben for Mal's problems for once! ...It's sad I consider that an absolute win, really, but its Descendants so... "Confident and natural leader"...wait is that meant to be serious or...because I kinda laughed there given how much of a 'confident' and 'natural leader' she was in D2 and D3... "Particularly because she felt guilty about the VK's she'd left behind" Yeah, she felt so guilty in fact that she literally showed zero fucking concern in D2 about the VKs when treating the Isle like a get away place, let alone showed zero concern when Evie did on the Isle about the VK's and in D3 basically went, "Fuck those kids, my happily ever after is more important-", when choosing WITHOUT HESTIATION to close the barrier and punish the VKs for crimes they didn't do and still intended to do this even during the lies revealed scene...so clearly guilty about leaving the VKs behind, guys. "Eventually, she helped convince the Auradon citizens to accept all VKs into Auradon Prep." And by that, I mean likely everyone else did the work but Mal's being given credit because main character and Descendants wants you to believe she actually gave a crap about the VKs after that council meeting scene lmao. "Mal is talented in a lot of areas, both in artistic endeavors and in spells and magic"...wait we NOW remember shes into art???? Because D2-3 did not fucking remember that detail well before making her into generic main character for personality and shit- but also where's being a bully and getting away with it and other crimes like love spelling someone and lying in those talents? She's very oddly good at those, even after she's meant to be good. "mess with other students" Well, that's a brutally honest description of what Mal was like with magic in Auradon Prep lmao. "the queen she was always meant to be" I...Do I need to point out saying Mal was always meant to have a form of power over people isn't great, given what she's like, or...? Like, taking someone who had a form of power on the Isle and used it to be a bully and shit and giving them power over a kingdom when they haven't even changed much isn't great, but Descendants seems to think Mal's the greatest so no wonder they acting like it was simply destiny she was always meant to be queen... Also I guess Mal still has the ember and didn't donate it to the museum so uh, there's that...also why does Hades' image look the most awkward lmao???? Did they not have a stock character image of Hades like Maleficent and Ben or...
I...really don't have much to say about Uma's page lmao- not because its meh or bad, its just not giving me much to complain about as it didn't at least villainize her like Descendants normally loves too...though interesting choice to say Uma only wanted to go to Auradon because she was envious of Mal and not because she wanted to free the villain kids...but I guess we can't let someone else care about the villain kids when we pretending like Mal gave a shit about them suddenly! But uh, guess this is confirmation that Fairy Godmother fully retired??? She and Ben's parents really do just like to ditch their jobs at the nearest chance and hand it off to the nearest young person- though I still really don't get why Uma would want to be a head mistress of a school, like I know she'd want to help villain kids and such, but like, she can do that outside of being head mistress technically, it just feels random for her character. Also niece of Uliana...are they actually gonna address this fully in the film or...we know Uma captured by Queen of Hearts so like....sigh, Uma suffering more in plot bullshit, first it was Mal's plot bullshit, now its Queen of Hearts bullshit, she cannot catch a fucking break. And one last question: when did the Isle of the Lost become a KINGDOM??? It was called a prison last I checked, why does it count as a home kingdom now??? If I was a villain kid and asked my home kingdom, I wouldn't say the Isle of the Lost, because that's a prison I was stuck on for existing basically.
#maybe i shouldnt buy this book actually lmao#gives me too much rant material#though i am morbidally curious what the hell they put on carlos page#as descendants likes to imply hes dead rn#or just forget to say what the fuck hes doing in beyond's case

SPOILERS FOR BEYOND THE ISLE OF THE LOST: WONDERLAND
.
.
.
.
.
This is the ending of the 39th chapter and it tells you what The Queen of Hearts did to Ace and Chester.
And this is the last page of the book in chapter 40( it’s only 3 pages). This is why I’m hoping that the film does something to give us some kind of closure, because even in the past the “prequel”novels tie into the film in someways as they give us some type of explanation for things to come that the films don’t really tell us about beforehand.
But my biggest question after reading the book, is if red was never on the isle, then that means she probably never met Uma, and, according to the teasers, they implied that Uma knew who red was with the whole, “ and I’m personally inviting someone who deserves the chance that I never had.” So how does Uma know who red is exactly? And since Wonderland is sealed off from Auradon it would make sense why Uma’s opening the invitation to come to Auradon Prep to Wonderland because it’s been sealed off.
But the book made it clear that the queen of Hearts doesn’t want anything to do with or anyone going to or coming from Auradon so why would she let her daughter go and why would she herself go as well because we see that in the promo pictures?

The Lore
Snippets that are revealed in answered asks that don’t go anywhere else. While relevant to certain Ask Hints, they aren’t required knowledge.
No time? No problem! Peep here if you want all the juicy lore-bits delivered via “in-a-nutshell” type recap.
~ In General ~
Expect Pokemon native to the Isle to be ignorant about what a city is.
It’s considered common knowledge that there are at best no such thing as humans, and at worst, all the humans died off. As Lief stated, the idea of a Pokemon and a human living together sounds nonsensical. Even Pokemon in humanoid form would deliver a culture shock.
That said, the sight of a Pokemon in humanoid form is presumed to be very common in Sciliva…
It is unknown what the world is like beyond the Isle. Appropriately called the Lost Sea, anyone that has tried to find out by braving the ocean never returns. But Livingston states the god Pokemon migrated to the Isle from beyond…
“Gods” and “god Pokemon” are what the residents of the Isle call Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. “Dungeon Masters” are god Pokemon that reside in the deepest part of the ruins. “Ruins” are essentially this world’s dungeons, which contain a myriad of artifacts.
“Ferals” and “feral Pokemon” are simply Pokemon that live in the Wilds. “The Wilds” are areas outside of towns, and encompass places like the Ruins.
"Void-matter" is a little-known substance that apparently consumes anything it touches. "Void shadows" are entities that come from void-matter, and have been observed to look like the Pokemon they eat...
Full-blood Mew, let alone full-blood Pokemon at all, are presumably rare to come by. But not so rare that the latter would be shocking to see, unlike the former.
Hybrids like Pikavee and Lief aren’t common in Sciliva. It’s been shown that the sight of one would be quite shocking.
Citizens of the Faer Kingdom are likely to think ill of both ferals and Ruby Nation residents. The latter is likely due to the aftermath of the war, but the former…
Gigantism presumably takes far longer than dynamaxing, and are seen as completely different things. It is also said that no one really knows what causes gigantism…
~ Notable Events ~
??
Inter-dimensional travel is now possible. How else would you have come here? How else have they came to you? :)
“The Incident” that apparently took place shortly before Pikavee met with her trainer and caretaker, Professor Lychee, involving a destroyed lab and something called “Entro Tech”… [1]
The yet unknown catastrophe that left a previous civilization in ruins, and forced the Pokemon into hiding… [1], [2]
The massive and devastating war initiated by the Ruby Nation some years ago against the other factions, wherein several Pokemon lost their lives and dozens more lost their homes. According to Lief, the war came to an end when four Pokemon rose up against the Ruby Nation’s king… [1]
Previously stated as a rumor by Lief and confirmed by Rue, there have been a string of incidents where a Pokemon dynamaxed out of nowhere and rampaged in the surrounding area, with wind storms raging in their wake. These events have been happening throughout the Faer Kingdom. [1], [2], [3], [4]
Episode Recap below the cut! It’s not too late to read from the beginning if you want to avoid spoilers!
~
~ Summary ~
Episode 0 - Introductions
Pikavee’s Intro - She is seen wandering downtown Sciliva, a bustling metropolis full of humans and Pokemon both, before being spontaneously transported to the Isle, falling from where she appeared in the sky above the Fae Wood. She’s hurt a little from the landing, but recovers. [Characters introduced: Pikavee.]
The jewels on Pikavee’s sweater are implied to be receptive to her in some way; likely related to what brought her here. Her clothes in general were custom made.
Lief’s Intro - He is awoken by Pikavee’s crash landing and comes close to investigate. He’s caught spying on her by Pikavee, only to stick around out of vague interest. She finds out from him how lost she really is, as he has no idea what humans are or even if they exist. For the sake of getting her to stop crying, he offers to simply find someone else that would know what she means. [Characters introduced: Lief.]
Fenninkou’s Intro -That next morning within the village nearby the Fae Wood, Fenninkou and Rue had once again stopped by the cafe during the busiest hours in town. She briefly fights with Eve about wanting to fight giants, before the town is thrown into a panic over Pikavee’s approach. Everyone rushes to shelter indoors. [Characters introduced: Fenninkou, Rue, Adam, Eve.]
Lief and Pikavee arrive to find the streets completely empty. Lying to her about why this is, he starts to split off from the giantess to find a “Pokenerd” called Livingston in order to ask directions…
… only to overhear Fenninkou charging wildly at Pikavee in a very real attempt to attack her; it fails. Lief mocks her extensively and it is implied heavily the two not only know each other, but have a bone to pick with the other.
Rue steps in before it can escalate further. More details are revealed regarding humans possibly being dead. Pikavee breaks down from the shock and experiences her first of many headaches. Overhearing Rue and Fenninkou debate about whether or not to help Pikavee, Lief ushers the giantess out of town in a moment of bitterness.
Lief admits to not being entirely truthful with Pikavee regarding the whereabouts of humans; he also talks briefly about his true relationship with the villagers and the prejudice he receives for being a feral.
The two remain together for the rest of that day. Pikavee star-gazes for a while after Lief leaves to gather berries, experiencing another headache upon looking at the moon, though it was short-lived.
Fenninkou shows up again out of guilt with an idea for them to see Livingston for real, and Pikavee admits to wanting to return to town to find out for sure. Lief overhears this upon his return, but agrees to come with.
Livingston spots the three just outside the window of his library and office that night, learning of the unusual circumstances and coincidences surrounding Pikavee herself, and the ruins he’s been studying. After musing about time travel, he warns them to lie low, for now. [Characters introduced: Livingston.]
Pikavee begins to admit her desire to help others and do something more in general, being very discontent with simply worrying for herself like Lief seems to push. In addition, he assures her that the Fae Wood’s Dungeon Master will handle anything serious.
Hazel’s Intro - Unbeknownst to them or anyone, a chase takes place elsewhere in the Wilds that night, near the Fae Wood. In an attempt to throw off their pursuers, Vurunnekin urges Hazel to run and find the treasure in the forest’s deepest point; where the Dungeon Master is said to linger… [Characters introduced: Vurunnekin, Hazel.]
… but she gets lost, instead winding up in town that next morning as Rue and Fenninkou are out again on errands. She explains what happened to her after some prodding.
In typical Fenninkou fashion, she leaps right into the action, intending to aid in Vurunnekin’s rescue. Hazel and Rue both hurry after her.
Back with Pikavee and Lief, the duo are back in the forest, outside of Lief’s burrow. Lief appears conflicted about the extra company, even lamenting that he wished Pikavee “remained wild” upon her telling how she met her human. Meanwhile, Pikavee is struggling with her discomfort over addressing the questionable details of her past.
As Fenninkou, Rue and Hazel draw near, Pikavee and Lief overhear the argument between them. The two also witness Rue fall into a pit trap apparently set by Lief.
Rue reprimands Fenninkou for just rushing in so recklessly. In response, Fenninkou snaps back with a comment about Rue’s missing brother before again running off. Hazel is left with little choice but to pursue Fenninkou further, promising to catch her.
Lief proposes they stay out of it completely; a notion that Pikavee strongly disagrees with. Exasperated with this repeatedly coming up, Lief retorts that she should “find someone else to bug if she doesn’t like it”. Pikavee, clearly hurt by this, decides to go on and speak with Rue.
#LoUsleepover Event Start - As Lief is left alone and begins to regret his words to Pikavee, Reshi’s invitation appears before him. Interested in attending for the sake of getting his mind off things, he brings along plenty of berries in his tail to snack on.
At first, Lief is standoffish and even more nonchalant than usual. He goes around trying all kinds of foods the other guests have brought, often offering a berry to trade; making an exception for foods containing meat. He becomes increasingly agitated as he interacts with some familiar faces, even as some others gift him goods. Here it is revealed that he hates royalty, is sensitive about not having friends, enjoys lightly spicy foods, and was gifted his scarf.
#LoUTruthnDare Start - After having a bit too red wine much to drink in his poor mood, Lief’s participation in Truth or Dare goes on to upset even Reshi. Being made to wear a maid outfit, things spiral further out of control as a dare leaves him ludicrously drunk, enough to put him in a bout of despair where he admits he likes Pikavee romantically, and feels regret for driving people off constantly.
After an hour or so long rest, Lief reawakens considerably sobered up. But he has a biting headache, and is struggling to remember what he did since arriving. Though he doesn’t fully believe it upon being told what happened, he feels guilty for it all the same. He leaves the event after bidding goodbye to some returning faces.
Event End - He returns to the Fae Wood in the midst of a downpour caused by Rain Dance. Hurrying into his burrow for shelter, he lies in bed and contemplates seeking Pikavee out to apologize.
A longer talk reveals some truth behind Lief’s warning to Pikavee not to seek help in the townies, belying how callously the feral population is regarded to the point of actively denying them aid. Lief’s regret over his previous behavior ultimately moves him to rush to her side.
Just a few hours prior to Lief’s return from the event, Hazel catches up just in time to pull Fenninkou free from a pit of void-matter. Shaken from the ordeal and Fenninkou injured, Hazel finds a spot for them to catch their breath. Rue and Pikavee would just miss them, spotting the same pool of void-matter in their path and the void shadow disguising itself as Fenninkou.
