I have no idea how to explain this drawing but I was listening to Sugarcrash for an entire hour while drawing this. Maybe that can explain something. I drew this long ago actually, while I was watching g rev.
I do have opinions about Ming Ming lol, like, the way she just transforms herself to grow up 5 years is just bruh. I don't hate her cutesy performer form even tho this drawing says otherwise, but I do like her other battle form more.

Oh yeah, I forgot about him canonically wearing eye liner based on this! Also, I love the red eyeliner! I might use that as inspiration for my own drawings, if that’s okay.

Kai is the king at beyblading and taking names I also did a version with red eye-liner that I quite liked so you can have both as a treat :)

I didn’t see the original post mention here, but I definitely feel like Takao and other characters felt a bit out of character in V Force. And parts of the story didn’t quite line up correctly. Forgive me for not going in depth, but I just woke up and my memory of V Force isn’t the clearest at the moment. I just know there were some parts that I really loved (with Wyatt, Salima, and Zeo) but there was a lot of filler stuff that felt a bit weird, but I can’t remember exactly at the moment.
OK CAN I JUST SAY... i was rereading the post you made on v-force takao and like. honestly YEAH a lot of people seem to act like he's almost like, ooc in v-force? but i think the thing is like. the signs have been there for a While, it's just that g-rev is the season where they're really gone into. in a sense v-force takao is kind of like you look back on him and you go "oh. oh fuck i get it".
something i don't see pointed out actually, specifically in regards to his ego, way back in s1 between the arcs in china and america, there's this little filler episode and, yeah nothing really Happens in it much. except for the fact that we see the first hint of how takao is reacting to even a relatively small level of fame. really the way takao changes after becoming world champion is both fascinating and absolutely devastating (but like, in a good way) imo and so looking back and seeing something like this, again it's that "Holy Shit" moment
overall i would ABSOLUTELY read a long ass speech abt takao and i should. probably write one of my own sometime i've been thinking abt him a lot lately. o7
yeah Takao/Tyson's character was really overlooked in s2 but i also kinda blame the writers...both of us based our conclusions through some thinking and analysis but i cant really expect everyone to do so.
i think the s1 setback was short term and it only happened maybe twice or thrice throughout the entire show, but it was long-term in both v-force and g-rev. once again, g-rev depicted Takao's feelings deeply and accurately which is why a lot of people tend to forgive him any action he might have taken. v-force was just...in between. we were meant to understand it but a lot of us failed to and the writers also failed to depict it.
I would loveee to make an entire takao/tyson post tbh, but it'll take a while because i have exams coming up. anyhow if you do end up making a takao post PLS share it, I would give all of my time to read it

I’m pretty sure I’ve always interpreted Zeo as gay and in love with Tyson, possibly even before I knew what gay was. What about you guys? Do you see him simply as admiring Tyson as the series canonically shows? Has your view of this changed over the years?

Since Moses canonically parted the red sea with a beyblade, does that mean dreidel are a sub-category of beyblade, or are beyblades a sub-catagory of dreidel?
Since Moses necessarily predates the Maccabees, and thus the miracle for which Chanukah is celebrated, the beyblade logically has seniority.
Thinking of it phylogenetically, the dreidel is the "descendant," and thus should be considered the same sort of thing as any other "descendants" of the beyblade - e.g. the glaive from Krull. Therefore, in much the same way that "birds are dinosaurs," dreidels are beyblades.
Interestingly, the term "beyblade" was actually introduced by Christians - in a roundabout way. Byzantine accounts of the Ottoman conquests of the 14th and early 15th century often mention "a sort of perpetually whirling sabre, set in motion by the enemy's mystics and commanded by their beys to wreak havoc on our walls and troops." (See The Oxford History of Byzantium, Mango, 2002).
Of course, cannons would eclipse these blades by the mid-15th century, at least as far as practical military deployment was concerned. Many of the now-obsolete blades would later be sold off to European traders, who would in turn sell them to nobles and scholars in Italy and France - where they would become known as Lames de les Beys, i.e., "Blades of the Beys." From there the etymology is straightforward.
All of this is from a historical standpoint, of course. Halachically speaking, the dreidel is considered a beetle.

1. - [Drama - Legendary 14] Gather your wits and lie about the toy aisle's whereabouts. Buy yourself some time.
SKILL CHECK
SUCCESS
“Sir, the toy aisle is over there at that door, right next to the bathrooms.”
DRAMA - Hee hee hee! He doesn’t know that the door actually leads to the employee room! You’re a tricky little trickster, and you LOVE it.
MUGMART SHOPPER - Thank you, lad. It’s nice to see someone that isn’t afraid to talk to me, for once. He walks away, unaware of your devious deception.
INTERFACING - Now, to find your prize. The beyblade box stands tall on the shelf, but not tall enough for you to reach it and rip the box to shreds.
ENCYCLOPEDIA [Easy: Success] - Beyblade (ベイブレード, Beiburēdo, diminutive Bey, from the diminutive of beigoma) is a line of spinning-top toys originally developed by Takara, first released in Japan in July 1999, along with a related manga series. This beyblade in particular, the Beyblade X BX-00 Booster Dranzer Spiral 3-80T, is one of the rare blades from the original anime, aptly named “Beyblade” as well as the two sequel series, Beyblade: V-Force and Beyblade: G-Revolution, and the 2002 film Beyblade: The Movie - Fierce Battle.
INTERFACING - You can feel each crevice and corner on the beyblade. The texture seeps into your senses. It’s beautiful.
PHYSICAL INSTRUMENT - Of course, it’s perfect. Perfect for throwing at people.
INTERFACING - And also for spinning. Yes. For spinning.
SAVOIR FAIRE [Hard: Success] - Take it.
LOGIC - What?
SAVOIR FAIRE - Take it. For free. Steal it. Come and go with your blade in tow. No one will look. No one will know. Take the blade and go.
VISUAL CALCULUS [Godly - Failure] - The store is like what, 100,000 million square feet? There’s probably only like what, 3 people near you? No one will see shit.
1. - [Savoir Faire - Medium 10] Run away with your prize, you slippery little weasel!
2. - I am a normal, law abiding citizen. I am so fucking normal right now. (Put the blade back in the remnants of its box and pay for it.)
3. - [Physical Instrument- Formidable 13] Chuck the blade at someone. Show the world how powerful you really are.

(wonder how did I succeeded the check but) I choose 1 ! (again) I rolled 9
