Do you know of any sapphic mysteries? Maybe a series?
Yes! My favorite contemporary mystery series is the Roxane Weary series by Kristen Lepionka, which has a bi female MC. Misha Popp's Pies Before Guys series is a really fun and cute lightly speculative cozy series, also with a bi female MC. The Jane Lawless series by Ellen Hart is legend, and if you're interested in historical, check out Proper English by KJ Charles, the Harlem Renaissance Mysteries by Nekesa Afia, and Pentecost and Parker by Stephen Spotswood. The Claudia Lin series by Jane Pek is only one book in so far, but the second is coming soon, and if you're into forensics, check out Fox County Forensice by Cara Malone. The Charlie Mack Motown Mystery series has six books, and Kathleen Kent has the Betty Rhyzyk trilogy. Those are all adult, but lemme know if you want YA recs as well!

JONATHAN GROFF SETS 2025 BROADWAY RETURN WITH ‘JUST IN TIME’
by Philip Boroff
EXCLUSIVE: Newly minted Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff will play the 1950s and ’60s crooner Bobby Darin in a staged reading next month, ahead of a planned Broadway opening in spring 2025, people familiar with the musical said.
The reading of Just in Time will be directed by Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!). On Broadway, Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens are set to produce the show, which tells the story of the short but eventful life of the popular performer, whose hits included “Mack the Knife,” “Dream Lover” and “Just in Time.”
Born Walden Robert Cassotto in East Harlem, Darin had rheumatic fever as a child that damaged his heart. He lived, he acknowledged, as if on borrowed time before his death at 37.
He led a new generation of swinging singers into the rock revolution of the 1960s. He also acted in movies, composed music, married the actress Sandra Dee and as an adult discovered that the woman he thought was his older sister was his mother.
“I went on YouTube,” Groff told reporter Elysa Gardner before a rehearsal of an early version of the show, presented as part of the 92nd Street Y ‘s “Lyrics and Lyricist series in 2018. “I watched all these TV performances, from the beginning to the end of his career, and I was blown away by his versatility. The rock & roll and the standards, the dancing, the folk songs. The duets with George Burns and Judy Garland. His life was insane.”
Darin spawned many imitators, including Kevin Spacey, who played him in the biofilm Beyond the Sea. The ballad “Just in Time” was composed by Jule Styne with lyrics by Adolph Green and Betty Comden for the musical Bells are Ringing. It became a hit for Dean Martin, among others, who was in the 1960 movie adaptation directed by Vincente Minnelli.
Besides Groff, casting wasn’t available. The reading isn’t affected by the monthlong Actors’ Equity strike intended to pressure the Broadway League to improve its Development Agreement with the union. Actors will be working under a contract negotiated with the League of Resident Theatres (LORT), an association of nonprofit theater companies.
Although the reading will be in New York, it’s under the aegis of Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, which is a LORT member.
In a charmed career, the 39-year-old Groff has performed in the Frozen films, the TV series Glee and three acclaimed Broadway blockbusters — Spring Awakening, Hamilton and most recently Merrily We Roll Along — each of which earned him a Tony nomination. (He won for Merrily.)
Groff was also the first Seymour in the hit off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, produced by Ahrens, Kirdahy and Hunter Arnold. Andrew Barth Feldman is currently playing the role.
In his moving acceptance speech at the Tony awards in June, Groff spoke about his love of the Broadway community and how “musical theater is still saving my soul.” Just in Time will aim for multigenerational appeal, as the young Broadway star sings 65-year-old standards.
Since the pandemic, older audiences have been slow to return to Broadway. If Just in Time is well received, Groff may be just the man to help bring them back.

Jonathan led a reading of the show on 15 March 2024 after rehearsing for a couple of weeks with the cast. Details below:

The Kiss & Kill Murder
Tumblr media
September 27, 2023
Betty Williams was from Odessa, Texas, and was only a teenager when her ex-boyfriend, Mack Herring murdered her. The strange thing about this case? Betty had apparently asked Mack to kill her.
Both Betty and Mack were students at Odessa High School in 1961. Betty supposedly had more different views for the time, and was not afraid to express herself wearing outfits that were deemed unacceptable at the time. Betty was not popular, but Mack was extremely popular, being a football player.
Betty had had sexual activity with boys she was not in a relationship with and at that time, it was extremely frowned upon. She was seen as very taboo. Betty began dating Mack but he eventually broke up with her and began dating another girl.
Betty was completely heartbroken and others later claimed she had mentioned that if she couldn't have Mack she did not want to be alive. She was also having problems at home, as her father was enraged that she had been having sex before marriage and her other taboo behaviours, as he was a strict Baptist.
Betty worked for the school play, and it was mentioned by multiple witnesses after the fact that she had asked them to kill her, however everyone said they just assumed Betty had been joking or just looking for attention.
On March 20, 1961, Mack and Betty went on his parents hunting property in Winkler County. Mack shot Betty in the head with a twelve-gauge shotgun. He put weights on her body and threw her in a stock tank. She was only 17 years old. Mack later confessed that Betty had chosen the weapon.
On March 22, 1961, Betty's mother reported her missing and after Mack was interrogated he showed police where her body was.
Mack went on trial but was eventually acquitted of the murder of Betty Williams. There were arguments that Mack was temporarily insane when he committed the murder, however there was apparently information that he had told his current girlfriend of the plan to kill Betty, meaning he was in his right mind leading up to it.
A hearing took place in Kermit, Texas, meant to determine whether or not Mack had been sane at the time of Betty's murder. However, the Texas Supreme Court stated the judge lacked authority and a second trial was held in Beaumont, Texas. This was the trial the resulted in an acquittal.
After all of this, Mack never lost his popularity at school. Instead, many people slandered Betty's name, talking about how she had coerced Mack into the crime and how she would often be found hanging out with other footballs players after they had driven their own girlfriends home.
Shelton Williams, Betty's cousin, wrote a book in 2006 called "Washed in Blood" on the case.
There have supposedly been many reports of paranormal sightings at Odessa High School surrounding Betty Williams. Students claimed at midnight, if you called her name and flashed your headlights 3 times, the ghost of Betty would show up in the window of the auditorium.
Mack went on to live a pretty normal life, attending Texas Tech University. He married twice and got divorced twice, and died on January 5, 2019 at the age of 75.

more of a opinion question, but do you think six will ever bring back old cast members for the long term productions (like west end, broadway, uk/na tours)? i'm not talking about back to back contracts (like jen caldwell) or the short term replacements (like natalie paris and courtney mack), but people who left coming back for a full contract. like the odds of anna uzele coming back as parr for the 2023-24 broadway cast (just a random example)
I think it realllllllyyyy depends on the scenario. Here's a few scenarios where that could happen:
1. Short term replacements. I know you said you're specifically not asking about this, but it feels remiss to not at least mention given that 90% of returns will probably go into this category. For anyone not familiar, this is mostly when they just need someone to bridge the gap between different contracts or cover for a longer-term injury. That's because it's typically more logistically convenient to bring someone who has already been with the show back in. Examples: Khaila Wilcoxon with Broadway, Natalie May Paris and Courtney Mack with the Aragon Tour, Madeline Fansler with the Australian Tour, Jessica Niles and Rebecca Wickes with the UK Tour (this is a non-exhaustive list with just the most recent examples)
2. Promotion. This is someone who re-joins the production full-time for a full contract that is considered a step up the ladder from their prior one. That might be promo from touring cast to Broadway (often preferred because of higher pay and ability to live in one spot) or cruise to mainland, or it might be from alt to principal. Logistical factors can also play a part in this, like Caitlin Tipping and Vicki Manser both joining the UKT post-lockdown when they needed new principals and couldn't hold full auditions. Examples: Caitlin Tipping, Vicki Manser, and Natalie Pilkington joining the UK Tour, Abigail Sparrow with the Canadian production (others exist). Wicked and Moulin Rouge are both examples of other Broadway shows that nearly always do this.
2.5. Universal swings. This is really a combo of 1 + 2. Being a universal swing is incredibly demanding, even moreso than regular swalt contracts. It's much easier to hire actors who already know the show extensively and who they know can reliably learn and perform all those tracks. In the case of Six, every single universal swing has been returning from another contract. Examples: Liv Alexander, Bryony Duncan, and Harriet Watson in the UK, Marilyn Caserta and Cassie Silva in the US. Kelly Denice Taylor also functioned in a similar capacity temporarily, and both the US and UK have had a number of alts on standby/learning covers for other productions in case they're needed (but not on official universal contracts)
C. Promotion of the show/"starcast" or "stuntcast." This is when a major “name” joins a show. It’s often in an attempt to sell more tickets, usually (although not always) when a show might be starting to struggle with ticket sales but may not be at a crisis point, and is trying to figure out a way to revitalize the show enough that it could continue running. There's two versions of this: 1. Someone who has no prior association with the show. In this scenario, the star-cast/stunt-cast actor is often a significant celebrity, particularly if the intent is to bring in ticket revenue. Examples of this from other shows would include Jojo in Moulin Rouge or Lillias White/Betty Who in Hadestown 2. Someone who has a prior connection to the show, usually meaning a former cast member who would be a significant draw if brought back in now. When bringing back a former actor to sell tickets is the intent, it's most often a member of an original cast who has significant enough popularity/notoriety to hopefully pull in more audiences (ie - Lin Manuel Miranda briefly joining the casts of both the In the Heights and Hamilton tours in Puerto Rico). That scenario is incredibly likely with at least some of the original West End cast members; Natalie May Paris would be a seemingly obvious possibility for another West End contract if they ever needed her (the Broadway cast is similarly popular in the US). On rarer occasion shows might bring in someone who was originally a replacement (not original cast), but who has also gained significant popularity/notoriety since their initial run in a show. Six commonly casts actors who are fairly young and/or early in their career, so many actors will use it as a jumping off point. That means that they've already seen, and are likely to continue seeing actors, actors who perform in Six and then go on to other significant roles that help grow their name. For instance, Adrianna Hicks and Anna Uzele both just led Broadway shows this season while Joy Woods led a major off-Broadway and is expected to be in a shared lead role next season. If those three actors are able to continue getting cast in lead roles and becoming even more well known, there might be draw for Six to bring them back in the future. Bringing back the original West End cast for Hampton Court/proshot is a similar idea. However, with HC they were bringing back the original cast to promote and film a pro-shot, not a specific production, so it's not quite the same scenario. Examples: none from Six...yet! Again, these rules of thumb mostly apply to principals. For alternates there's also the possibility that some might be asked to come back in the future as a vacation cover/universal swings (which I mentioned above), and they also have the increased chance of re-joining as emergency cover for a temporary period. It is also possible for principals to emergency cover, but is generally less likely since they only provide coverage for one role and in those scenarios it’s usually more helpful for them to bring in an alt with more role flexibility.

Hello! Welcome to the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Papa Louie!!
My name is Miles (@sunsetcorvid ) and I am here to offer a tournament of the best Papa Louie character!!!
There are 204 characters in my google doc. A majority of which have flipdeck cards. This post may update before the tournament date with more characters without flipdeck cards. I will randomize pairs and put them against one another. All characters range from each Papa Louie game, and I mean each one.
Only one will remain.
There will not be a bracket, as there are many characters and it stresses me out trying to make something as big as that. So, it will be a surprise on which ones are paired up.

Okay now I have to ask, glee crossovers 👀👀
Okay okay I was waiting for this!! I will not give you the lists bc it would take ages (it would just be everyone with everyone lol) so I will give you the "most vibes".
Nate already have so much sisters and he definitely needs more but, just saying, him and Cole would be great boyfriends 👀 (we already talked about this? I really can't remember lol) Also, about sisters... Demi, Dolly & Barbie, Jaci, Kendall, Lilibeth, Perrie, Sandy, Satine, Savannah, Zoe... Carla!! Oh! And Nate would be the best big brother for Jeremy 🥺
Coming Of Age and SOWK crossover 👀 Like, Christine and Aurora, Garreth (& Ellie ovb) and Josh (they would be the best parents to all the kids lmao) Christine and Carla would also get along great ngl (They're the sweetest, they deserve the world and they would hate Rachel Berry together lol)
Also Chrissy (she is Blaine's bestie so her and Aurora would be so close I just know it) and Cosette, Cosette especially with all the older main group (Roman, Amelie, Ash...)
For Ronnie and the girls, I need to go with Betty & the boys bc yes. But also more specifically for Ronnie, Toni, no vibes at all, just the st content lmao.
All the Berry/Corcoran crossover obviously, but more specifically: Linda & Barbie & Dolly Jake & Jo Jake & Sadie Dorothy & Sadie Dorothy & Leonard Linda & Oz Dorothy & Oz (Also Toni but Idk her vibes rip)
Benjamin and Carla are ofc the best babies, I love them so much and they're my everything. But! Savannah bc she's her older sister and we need to talk about this way more, Jeremy bc they're the babies of the group and Kath and Oz for no reason at all just vibes.
Jean and Betty, half bc of the Sabrina&Olivia vibes, half bc they would totally understand each other for the "shitty boyfriends and shitty parents" situation.
Connie with Betty and the Band for obvious reasons, but also they would just be so cute, they're like, the sweetest.
Lia and Charlie bc the best cousins that are actually sister bc they were raised together (Also any Schuester crossover but Lia and Charlie would be everything)
Mack and Kendall for the sibiling vibe, just like Dahlia and Jaci (they're both Mercedes' cousins so... sisters?) and Luka and Betty.
Maya and Hillary just for the Euphoria sources ngl.
Also more generally, any combo of the Schuester / St.James / Sylvester would be the best.
Anyone, LITERALLY ANYONE, with Colton and Cece bc they're my weakness, I can't choose, I love them too much.
