I am slightly behind schedule so this constitutes as Day 5'sentry piece for @goodboybadrep-ooc's advent calendar. I hope you enjoy ❤️❤️

Bethany was in their room in the shared house, getting ready for their date in the Space Needle. Since her conversation with Arizona, Beth couldn’t help but be on the look out for signs that Alex was preparing to propose. The only problem with this was that now she was looking for the signs, she couldn’t stop seeing them. Alex was even more romantic than usual. Oh and yeah. He booked the Space Needle of all places. So yes. She was suspicious. 

She finished curling her hair as there was a knock at their bedroom door “Beth?” she smiled softly hearing her sister’s voice “Hey Mer, what’s up do you need me? Cause I’m meant to be going out tonight. I’m just waiting for Alex to get home.”

“I know Beth, Karev is waiting at the front door for you. He asked me to come get you.” Bethany looked at her sister slightly confused “But why? He lives here?” Meredith shook her head “I don’t know I think he’s got something planned, maybe it’s because of where he’s taking you he wants it to be extra special? Just grab your jacket and go and have a good time.” Meredith gave a knowing smile then. So she definitely knew more than she was letting on. Bethany got up and ran down the stairs, grabbing her jacket “Hey Alex” she smiled softly “Hey Grey, you ready?” she nodded “Absolutely.” and with that they set off

Once they got to the Space Needle it turned out that Alex had somehow managed to book one of the best tables. Now she knew there was definitely something going on. They managed to get all the way to dessert without too much fanfare, but then Alex became all jittery. 

“Alex are you okay?” she asked softly “Huh? Yeah. sorry I’m okay” he pulled a box from his pocket “Uh Beth… I’ve got an important question….” he stood up and knelt down by the table “Bethany Rose Grey, will you do me the honour of becoming Bethany Rose Karev?”

She nodded tears in her eyes “Yes. yes I absolutely will!”

Some facts (with spoilers from DATV) that we learned today about Dragon Age companions:

Lucanis' writer intended him to be panromantic and demisexual.

Emmrich was said to be in his early 50s before, but this info was from earlier in the writing. His writer sees him from somewhere between his mid 50s and early 60s at most.

wardens don't hear the calling anymore (although they still have the blight. the effects are just lesser). this applies to: alistair, anders, oghren, sigrun, nathaniel, velanna and davrin, and potentially bethany, carver, loghain, thom rainier and rook (and our HOF and any warden character): [link 1, 2]

They would have wanted Fenris to appear in Veilguard (maybe as a companion?) [link 1, 2]

the dreadwolf works alone. he doesn't have agents anymore [link]

(epler deactivated his bsky account so i dont have the exact words or screenshots, but he clarified a few hours ago that solas never liked working with others, and that especially with everything related to the rebellion he grew to dislike it. the inquisition gave him a little of that interest back, and his agents helped him with the dagger, but after a while he decided to go back to work alone)

his favorite icecream flavor is rum raisin, he probably goes to perfumers that have set up shop in nevarra city around the necropolis, he'd probably speaks/understands Tevene, he'd probably be into classical music but also he'd enjoy a concerto or an organ recital. or even a a bold new orlesian opera if he's feeling daring (she keeps answering questions, and she also spoke about the "age gap" thing w older rooks in this thread)

I'm not ready to shut up about Aveline and Carver--so, when you go see Aveline in Act 1, you can catch up with her a little bit and that's where this conversation can happen:

Aveline: "It's just one more change, though. The real end for me was Ostagar. What about you, Carver? You were there. Do you feel something similar?" Carver: No. Aveline: All right, then. Bit of a tit, your brother.

I wanted to see what she would say if Carver isn't in the party. Instead, she says this:

Aveline: Carver was there. I imagine he feels something similar. If he allows it.

......well, at least she didn't call him a tit?

This isn’t my usual content but I’ve been playing Dragon Age Inquisition over again and something is bothering me soooo much. Why isn’t Hawke’s Warden companion their surviving sibling?! Why is it canonically Stroud?

Why do you have to choose between Hawke and Stroud when Stroud is the easy choice, thus the most likely choice for a majority of players?

Is that “big” choice something they’re ever going to revisit in Dreadwolf? Or did they kill a beloved protagonist off screen with zero consequences?!

It makes no sense to me! Why bring Hawke back just to kill them in an unsatisfying way that has like zero emotional pay out?

And if they’re coming back in some way for Dreadwolf then why did you make the other choice a character we’ve met once that we have zero attachment to?

And if you did an import world state and had to pick between Alistair and Hawke or even Hawke and Loghain, does that mean either Alistair or Loghain could be something big in Dreadwolf? That seems even weirder. But not as weird as it being Stroud?

Why wasn’t it Bethany or Carver, the real emotional catalyst choice?!

TW: angsty angst, identity crisis(?), character death

I always tried to make people around me comfortable, the joking and charms came in after I got to Kirkwall. I was too tired to be angry, but I did try to be kind most of the time. But I often masked by joking around…

I’m remembered as a jester though, the fool who let a chantry be blown up in her city she was made champion of… the fool who barely could protect her fellow apostates now or even properly lead them at all. The same fool who let her baby sister die and baby brother is going to die sooner than her. Same fool who let her mother die in her arms… Same idiot who was blind to her baby brother’s organization being a danger…

I hoped my legacy would die after the Chantry explosion, but alas, Varric wrote and published it all… making me immortal for now…
