A rebel at heart, from a young age Beth has always gone to the extreme in order to get what she wants. She’s a self-professed wild child who made her mother cry when she walked through the front door one day with bright blue hair. She’ll just never learn her lesson, will she? Beth is often quick to anger with her hot temper, especially when she doesn’t get her own way. How will she cope living in a BC house where she’s competing against other contestants? Will she even get past day 1 without losing her temper?

Introduce yourself! Your name, gender and pronouns, where you’re from, all that good stuff.

“Hey, my name is Bethany Anne Tinsley, but for all intents and purposes you can just call me Beth. I'm a pansexual cis female from the crappy old dump known as Twinbrook and for the longest time now I’ve been dying to escape from there.”

What do you do for fun? 

“I enjoy dying my hair wild colours and going to music festivals! I also used to be a gymnast when I was younger, so there’s that.”

Favorite genre of music? Favorite artist/band?

“Pfft, mainstream pop is so overrated. My playlists are full of artists like Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith etc.”

Have you ever committed a crime or any illegal infraction?

“When I was fifteen I shoplifted from a store, but it wasn’t too much of a biggie. They let me off with a warning. I also streaked once..”

What’s your favorite film genre?

“Horror! I love watching everyone else shit their pants over these films, it’s great entertainment.”

What’s something your most proud of?

“Back when I did my gymnastics, I reached the highest level and went to the nationals! It was such a big deal for me.”

Have you watched any MMBCs before? Katherine mentioned Francis, though there are plenty of others out there: Hart, Camisade, Ostkaka, etc. If you have or haven’t seen one, what are your opinions on them?

“Man, I’d hate to be in a MMBC. I’m not ready to die just yet, I have so much of the world to explore still! In my opinion, everyone should go through rigorous checks before entering. I’ve got nothing to hide.”

What was your reason to get in this BC?

“I just want a bit of fun, that’s all! Besides, Veronica seems really cute.”

Also, be honest: how much of your entry is to get a chance at meeting Katherine West?

“Now, that’s personal info that I won’t disclose.”

OOC Question: Any tips for writing your character?

She loves to get into arguments and stand out from the crowd! Anything to get just that extra bit of attention.

Southampton Shoal (1)

1905. Inactive since 1960. Square wood tower with lantern on a 2-story Victorian keeper's house. The original 5th order Fresnel lens is on display at the Angel Island Interpretive Center. The lighthouse originally had 3 stories and was located on Southampton Shoals, northeast of Angel Island and southwest of Point Richmond in San Francisco Bay. In 1966 the upper two stories were relocated to Tinsley Island in the San Joaquin River delta about 15 miles (25 km) northwest of Stockton, where the building is used as a yacht club. Beth McIntyre's photo is below, the Coast Guard has a 1953 historic photo of the light on station, Marinas.com has aerial photos of the present location and Google has a satellite view. Accessible only by boat, and permission to land should be obtained in advance. Site and tower open by appointment. Owner/site manager: St. Francis Yacht Club. ARLHS USA-777.

My favorite conspiracy theories are the ones that are jokes like ted cruz being the zodiac killer.

c.c. tinsley: what are some names that you like?

Oh man, I realized a couple months ago that all of my favorite names are all like british royalty names? I’m just so fucking white I guess I don’t know. Like my top girl name is Elizabeth and my top boy name is William. And at some point it hit me that those were the names of the queen and the prince and I was just like “shit I can’t name my kids that everyone’s gonna ask if I’m obsessed with the royal family.”

The real reason I like those names is that they have nickname potential. Like Elizabeth can be called Eliza or Beth, William can be called Will. 

God, that was kind of a weird answer, huh?? Why couldn’t I just be like “Beth and Will!! :)” Oh well, [jonathan byer’s voice] I’m a freak.

Aaron couldn’t help the smile that crossed his features at Tyson’s words and he nodded his head. “Makes sense, island life isn’t exactly the same,” he responded. “Think you’d be better suited to the mainland maybe?” It seemed like Tyson could thrive in LA, if he wanted to anyway. “What made you choose Catalina of all places? I mean, was there something specific that brought you here?” He realised then, as he asked the question, that he probably hadn’t asked enough questions or made enough effort to find out more about the younger man. “It words.” A nod, and then taking another drink from the glass in front of him, he sat up straighter. “First grade, so a little bit of everything, just one of those things I wanted to do from the word go really.”

He couldn’t help but stifle a laugh as the other asked the age old question. Why did Tyson move here? Those in his inner circle completely understood the benefits of the move. At the time of the choice, he had been at the lowest point that he could recall. The simple joke of a suggestion from Tinsely was enough to get Tyson to pick up his entire life and migrate to somewhere calmer that still had access to what Tyson would call normal life. “Valid question as I seem to keep talking about how much I love New York. So, a call back to an earlier conversation, I’ve got a lot of issues and stuff that I’ve been working through my entire life. Living on my own in New York didn’t really help that. A lot of change was happening and to be honest, I didn’t know how to cope with it. I ended up partying a little too much, damn near drained my bank account of useless shit, had a lot of questionable nights out that ended up with waking up not knowing where I was or alternatively, who was in my apartment. When I finally decided to move here, I was pretty fucked up to put it mildly. So when Tinsley joked about the idea, I packed up all my belongings into Beth and drove half way across the country. Would���ve drove the full way if I didn’t start coming down by Missouri.”

Tyson paused for a moment, sipping on his beer to chose his next words carefully. Also to let what he had already said settle a little. “I’ve come a long way though. And by that, I’ve gained a little more stability. Back on the right track and only falling back into shitty patterns every so often. Catalina has given me the opportunity to escape, so to speak. I still get a little bit of that New York City vibe I crave from LA but I’m not surrounded by it. I guess it’s a case of removing yourself from a situation before it ends terribly. One of those moments where you run from who you are in that moment to find out who you actually are.” He shrugged as he waited to let everything settle. Tyson was very open about his past. It was a sad truth but it was what lead him here and shaped who he was. It was a part of him that he didn’t want to hid. “First grade, huh?” The words came out in a more cheerful and interested manner than the matter of fact droning of his life story. “That’s probably fun. Kids that age are so imaginative and bright eyed. The world’s still so big to them.”
