A Link that like, had to save his own hyrule like everyone else. But through prophetic visions and time shenanigans he finds out about the other heroes, almost all of them still children  when they are send off to their deaths.

Legends of a hero that is dedicated to protect children pop up throughout all timelines since he he has a lot of free time after preparing everything he can. I’ve gone over a few times that I like to think that talpaedans are techno-organic, less so being silicon or silicone based beings but being an integration of organic carbon materials and the more industrialised physiology of being a walking talking construction equipment. I have also previously made use of the whole ‘machine’ aspect of their natural biology to not only consider them as burrowers, but also as ant-like burrowers with haplodiplody, this form of sex-determination system being used to expand the combinations of construction equipment that an individual talpaedan might have, but also as a basis of which I form the sociopolitical building of talpaedan cities, in which case we have large city state colonies of ant inspired pangolins recreating feudalism Europe of the 10th-13th century.

But up - until this point - there was not quite a lot of circumstances that would allow for actual metallic components to not only present itself biologically but also do so naturally, so with the heavy metal eating pill bug there’s a source of extra inspiration. Oniscidae (apparently the more accurate name for pill bugs/rollie pollies and literally any name under the sun) can remove arsenic (which is actually a metalloid), cadmium, lead, and depending on sources also mercury from the soil; additional metals that can be extracted from soil are copper and zinc. The pill bug in question would crystallise these ions in their gut and create spherical deposits within them, but since we are not talking about the isopod alone surely it isn’t too much of a stretch to the idea that perhaps talpaedans can use these deposits within themselves to feed into the development of their most notable features, their built in equipment?

Assuming that Poiana Lüncas has these metals and that talpaedans would in fact filter for them, in real world human employed Earth uses of these metals can indeed be of fine use. Both arsenic and cadmium can be used as alloys and zinc specifically can galvanise other metals such as iron to prevent rusting, very significant indeed in industry, notably especially with large amounts of zinc can be used in hardware industries. Copper has a very notable use in electronics and wiring of which motors are included, let alone more refined wiring in TVs and radio. And argueably the more infamous of these metals (at least to a standard ‘basic’ level of understanding) we have mercury and lead, the former being used in many different industries for it’s ability to measure the change in temperature and pressure, and the latter for some solders, gasoline/petroleum and wonderfully hazardous cosmetic items that uninformed humanity has come to be harmed by.

ngl, spent a bit of time trying to find an oxygen-carrier of these metals that can feasibly make black blood but i literally do not know if the colour of oxides is in any way relevant to how oxygen-carrier bloodcells would actually be coloured as i’m not a chemist

But in highlighting these metals, I am not simply looking to see if a techno-organic talpaedan can have galvanised armour nor if they come built in with blood pressure monitors. No no no, I am saying more than what talpaedans eat but also what metals can talpaedans have easy access to in the development of technology, and how one might say that actually interacts with the ant-psychology of utterly fucking despising other colony.

There is an inherent baseline for technology in talpaedans that would already give their industrialisation a boost, in addition to the materials that may vary on quantity based on the region, colony size, and general population needs. Before long there are city states reinforcing their own barriers and expanding their borders for more and more materials - to consume and to create - to in fact increase and increase the tension between colonies so loud to the point pressure spills like a broken thermometer spills mercury and conflicts arise.

And when everything boils over do they realise that many have to balance the act of raising young and building more weapons, the factor that may in fact be the tipping point to realise that the colonies with the most resources are not only a threat but a threat that can overwhelm on the technological scale and the population number. In spite of how many colonies may indeed hate each other, it is more than worth it to them to compromise and in fact LIVE rather than be caught between the suddenly unveiling superpowers of the world that had previously lay unknown thanks to willful ignorance. Decimation of land is significantly reduced from cataclysmic to catastrophic as entire colonies are rased and in fact dug out into craters, many war-era alliances held to the modern day of Poiana Lüncas. A tithing - remnants of the treaties formed at the peak of desperation - of the youngest generation of adult men stands as both tradition and of appeasement, a colony trade and marriage across many different colonial alliances as a symbol of what had to be done before, sharing resources and rearing while the soldiers fought to live.

I got carried away and blacked out and it became 2k, idk what happened either.

Swiss is so inexperienced and very anxious and mountain is the sweetest actually. This is so awkward because these two are dorks so good luck.

Small small mentions of blood but it’s taken as a joke.

It wasn’t long after Swiss was summoned that he truly started to understand the bands dynamic. Day in and day out of watching his pack mates eye each other like a piece of meat, constant touching and flirting and there was many parts of Swiss that yearned to be included in it.

He didn’t feel ready. Half split between feeling left out as the two ghoulettes he came with have been bonded and together since summon, and the other ghouls really seemed to take to them after a couple days anyways. It wasn’t like no one took to him, but he’s never propositioned, desired, at least not in his line of sight. He feels like he would be intruding if he were to say anything. So he waits.

The other half worries partially about being inexperienced. Never used a human body, barely has even touched himself and god he’s probably embarrassing, no one wants to be with someone so inexperienced right?

He continues to think about it. Fuck he practically studies the other ghouls and sex and whatever the fuck they’re doing together because when the time comes he doesn’t want to embarrass himself. “Didn’t think you’d actually come up here, been waiting for you to come to one of us sunbeam” mountain chuckles and motions through the open door to invite him in.

“Been waiting for you myself, hard to ignore such a big guy like you” Swiss pushes himself against mountain. He’s heard in pornos that men like to be called big. That was right to say, right?

I picked a broken mirror, because, well, I wanted Peri to check his appearance, but I thought it would be boring for him to just poof up a compact mirror. So, I figured, why not do a bit of foreshadowing? UwU Peri was in an alley anyway, it wouldn't be weird for there to be a mirror that someone threw out. People throw out old junk all the time. So, I thought it would be cool if Irep poofed in a broken mirror for Peri to look at himself with. Because:

1. Irep is sending bad luck Peri's way. To be clear, the date was going to go bad either way. Irep didn't do anything to effect it. That was all Peri's doing. :)

2. Irep wants to play into Peri's image/identity problems, by giving Peri a distorted image of himself.

3. Irep just wants to taunt Peri, not that Peri knows that. (Yet. 😉) Irep is (going to be) placing little clues around Peri fuck with him. An, "I know what you've been doing." type thing. Basically, Irep wants to drive Peri at least a little crazy. And, to be very, very smug about.

I think the "bad luck" thing is fairly obvious, lmao. Irep is in the fic's character tags and the main antagonist for season one, so I don't think it's a secret that he's going to show up at some point.

I like the symbolism of Peri seeing his broken/unclear reflection when he thinks everything is fine, and then when he sees his reflection clearly, he can see that he's actually a mess. He's seeing his situation in full now and it's not looking good, haha.

Fun fact, Fran is actually the one who had the idea for this fic / the ship. I became a co-author over time, but she definitely had the idea! She talked about it during one of my Twitch streams and I immediately loved it, it's what got us talking more and more often, and now we're besties!!

1. Tim or Bobby?

This might get me some hate but I choose Tim. I stayed on the Gary track the entire season, and while Bobby was amazing there’s just something about Timye and his rap crew/stripper Spanish tours/wrestling career that I can’t forget. Both are brotp but Tim takes it for me.

2. Choose two Islanders (from any season) to be quarantined with, and why? 

Aside from my LIs, I’d say Chelsea and Priya, because they’re my two BFFs. All of the other girls either had some sort of hidden agenda or seemed sketchy at various points. That was a big issue I had with season 1- MC really had no super strong girlfriends. As much as I loved Jen at the end, I took the Levi route and things started off super rough between us. Priya and Chelsea were the only two genuine females I’ve played with.

3. How/when did you discover the game?

Literally like 2-3 weeks ago lmao

4. If you could rewrite a scene, what scene would you rewrite? 

Aside from, like, no Cherrygate because I was with Levi, I think I’d like in season 2 to have a bigger reunion with Gary when I return from Casa Amor. For me, I was with Henrick and Gary was with Chelsea and I stayed loyal (for Gary), and I would’ve liked for them to have a bigger reunion. I get why it was so subtle, but I would’ve liked a hug or something. I also would’ve liked the family phone interactions to be less cheesy and lame. And I would prefer more time with my LI at the reunion in season 1. 

5. Favourite challenge?

I liked the one near the end of season 2 where the couples were guessing answers about their future. I still call bullshit that Lottie and Bobby beat us, btw. Gary and I crushed it.

7. Describe your ideal S3 LI.

Well, I had Levi season 1, Gary s2, so maybe a ginger this time? Lmao. I have no clue. Whoever it is better be ready to win, because I want my 3-peat.

Um, new Hannah went after my man. Old Hannah at least waited until we weren’t coupled up anymore. Bitch can back right on off.

9. Who was dumped too soon? 

Priya. She’s a good soul, that one.

10. Jakub or Felix?

Do I have to choose? I don’t like either of them. 

11. Henrik or Lucas? 

I was actually in to Lucas and was sad when he left early, but once he came back he was way too forward and disrespectful of my relationship with Gary. Henrick was always kind to me. I didn’t hold any resentment when he brought back Blake because we were a friendship couple, I was just mad he chose me at all when I could’ve coupled back up with Gary. But yeah, my answer is Henrick because he seems less full of himself. 

12. Jo or Hope? 

I’m not Hope’s biggest fan, but Jo was dull as a pair of white socks. Nice enough, but I’ll pass.

13. Lottie or Priya?

I was all for Lottie and girl code at the start until she fucked that up ten times over. Queen Priya always.

14. What originally drew you to your LI?

I’ll be honest- I first picked Gary because he was the cutest. I like a big buff guy, and he looked like a sweetheart. (I was right.)

15. Favorite LI of all time (both seasons)?

Gary. Because my other LI was Levi and he fucked up a lot. Gary did too, but only at the start. Levi continued to fuck up as time passed. Gary only got sweeter and, thus, more attractive. Plus, Gary very much has no clue how amazing he is, which is also attractive. He thinks he’s just an average guy that doesn’t deserve much, which is why I (and my MC) like him so much.

16. Favourite scene/day?

I know I said I wanted more from it, but when Gary walks out and sees MC didn’t bring anyone back from Casa Amor, I just lose it every time. TOO CUTE.

17. Who had the best character development?

Hard to say. I wanted to say Priya, but really she was just misunderstood at first. Cherry came a ways as well, though I’ll never be her top supporter after Cherrygate. Gary evolved a lot- he found some confidence and really came into his own. By the end of the season he was a strong and equal partner for MC, which says a lot.

18. One thing that irked you about the game?

Mine loads too slow lmfao. Also Hannah never apologized for being a hoebag and going after my man. She just moved on to Henrick and acted like everything was normal and we were besties. Like HELLO? 

19. Season 1 reunion or Season 2 wedding?

Season 2. Season 1 we got literally a single scene with our LI and I was pissed. 

20. Describe domestic life or a head-canon about/with your LI.

MC playing her instrument for Gary and him being super duper heart eyes. Maybe even performing something for him at the wedding reception, or that night- on the beach maybe? It might have to be somewhere private because I can totally see Gary jumping her as soon as she’s done.

Ahaha, I hate answering questions like these, but I know I need to practice being nice to myself & acknowledging what I think I actually do well, so..I guess I would say dialogue? I have fun writing it & I've received a few compliments about it that I still think about 😭💕

Finding the right words. I feel like I use the same descriptors/actions over & over again. My google searches are littered with "synonyms for" & "another way to say". Thank God for the internet.

I could maybe do French, though I retained very little from high school lmao but I would be afraid to attempt anything else & royally fuck it up.
